Glen taught me everything I needed to know about the house I purchased. He warned me about potential problems and estimated how much it would cost to fix them. I purchased with peace of mind knowing the house was structurally safe. He provided a comprehensive report that included color photos and arrows pointing to problem areas. I was able to use portions of the report to justify a decrease in the property tax months later. My realtor was very impressed and said to me privately that he was by far the best home inspector she had ever seen. I recommended him to my sister a year later and she was equally satisfied. Glen is the best!

Glen performed a home inspection, taking the time to show me how I could see for myself what he is looking for. He was very professional, but super cordial, and made what could have been a very painful process pain free. I have a tendency to ask a ton of questions, and he took the time to answer them all. He was very patient with me, and he and Yvonne were very helpful in scheduling inspection despite the tight deadline. Glen showed a high level of expertise and had many years of experience, and gave me a lot of useful information in maintaining the home. I will be recommending Pro Spex to my friends who are purchasing homes.

Glen performed a home inspection for us in Arlington, VA. He was punctual, professional, thorough, patient, and kept his promise to deliver the report quickly. The report itself was comprehensive, well documented with photos, and left me with the distinct sense that we had had a quality HI performed. He might not be the absolute cheapest out there, but he does quality work, correctly, the first time. And I would rather use that sort of service provider every time, no questions asked. Highly recommended.

Phenomenally well. First of all, I should say that there were several complications in trying to get my house inspected (the seller was unable to get the utilities turned on by the time we had agreed upon). But Glen was extremely flexible when I needed to change the date of inspection (twice!). I received a very speedy response when I first ordered the inspection. The Pro-Spex team was easy to schedule with, and always available for questions. Glen showed up right on time, and was friendly and professional from start to finish. But when I say friendly, he's not the type of guy who will just tell you what you want to hear. He gives it to you straight, even if you're not going to like whatever issue he found, or whatever hidden repair expense might have just reared its ugly head. That's his job, but I'd be willing to bet other inspectors are not as thorough or straight-shooting (I don't really know, though, since this was the first inspection I've been a part of). The thing I liked most about having Glen do this job was that he was willing to walk me through every step of the process as he worked. I told him that it was important for me to know how my future house works (or doesn't work). So it was great that he patiently and thoroughly explained each component he was inspecting and each issue that came up. I'm going to need several follow-up inspections as I complete some renovations on the house, and I'm really glad I won't have to search for someone to help me with that. Glen's definitely got the job.

Before the inspection date came up I spoke with Glen and his wife multiple times to gauge and set expectations, of what services were included and excluded per the contract. I gave Glen the opportunity to "oversell" me on services but he didn't. He was honest enough to tell me what services were needed on our newly constructed home, what our "rights" are as buyers, and how to address issues with the builder. He shared personal experiences which set our hearts at ease before the day of the inspection.Glen and Mike arrived at the site 15 minutes earlier than our agreed upon meeting time. What's better than one inspector? Two! Glen brought a second inspector with him Mike. They both walked the home together floor by floor assessing the structure. After the assessment of each floor, we were educated about the basic foundation requirements for constructing a home and what things are allowed/not allowed from an industry standpoint. After the education, he followed up by pointing out his concerns from heating and cooling, to electrical, plumbing, and even structurally. He made recommendations on companies to use past the construction phase in order to properly maintain the home as well. We followed this method floor by floor repeating the process with Glen pointing out the issues which were found. Some of the issues were definitely a concern for me as they were visible enough for anyone to notice.During the time which we were there, one other inspector came to do some verification work on the structure. Glen and Mike spoke with that individual to address the concerns. As these issues were brought to his attention the 3rd inspector stated that he was going to review and remedy the issues which were part of his domain and the remainder would be addressed by the builder.The report was furnished as previously promised within the day in a professional format with pictures detailing all of the issues internally and externally. It was provided to the builder the following day. We still have a post-drywall and final inspection left to do.

See above. I contacted Pro Spex to perform the inspections and was very satisfied with the punctuality, price, thoroughness and communications. Pro Spex's performance was flawless.

Glen's work from beginning to end was exemplary. To begin, he gave me a thumbnail sketch of what was going to transpire throughout the inspection. In fact, before we took one step inside, he began pointing things out in my garage that had totally escaped my notice. He brought a team of three - one started inside photographing rooms and appliances that would be inspected. These photos would be inserted throughout the final report. Simultaneously, Glen and his other associate worked the outside of the house from the roof down to the grading around the house. Next, he came inside going floor by floor, room by room, appliance by appliance, electrical outlet by electrical out let, drain by.... you get the idea. Since I work out of the house, it was important that disturbances be kept to a minimum. The only time I knew they were at work was when Glen's baritone voice would call to mention something he thought I should know - which was not often. At the end, the recap of his findings were explained thoroughly. The completed report was emailed to me overnight. I have already begun this repair and replace list I cannot recommend Pro-Spex, Inc highly enough. A great company and team.

Glen was very knowledgeable on the phone, even before the day of the inspection. Yvonne, the operations manager, was also most helpful and very responsive with answering any questions by email and phone. On the day of inspection, Glen was absolutely professional and answered all of my questions. He was very thorough in his explanations of what he inspected and very thorough and efficient while doing the actual inspection itself. He took his time to explain what was normal wear and tear for a property of that age and what type of maintenance a property like this needs. I was more than impressed with his inspection of the foundation and the area underneath the property. Glen has all the right tools from the proper suit to wear while inspecting the crawl space, to using a camera (or video if necessary) to take pictures to accompany his descriptions and explanations in the report. As a first time home buyer, I could not have asked for a better person to do the inspection! The inspection performed by Glen was so thorough that it provided excellent information for me while getting quotes from different contractors to perform some of the work.

I originally found Pr-Spex by cross referencing the lender's list of approved inspectors and Angie's list, and I wasglad I did. I emailed some questions about scheduling and received very prompt replies. The company website was very easy to use for scheduling. Glenwood was early for the appointment, very professional in appearance and approach, meticulous in his work. A reinspection was needed, which could have held up the already painful process of getting to closing. Glenwood worked me in by adding my reinspection to the end of his day, and uploaded the report around 9 PM that (Friday) night. I would stroingly recommend Pro-Spex to anyone requiring an inspection.

I do not dispute that the company performed within the letter of the contract. But less than two years later, we discovered major damage to the house that had been in the process of happening for at least 10 years. We were not in the area at the time and could not say for certain whether this damage should have been visible within the scope of the inspection contract, though we can say for certain that snows in February 2010 made at least some of the causes of this damage fairly clear. Again, since the inspection covered the terms of the contract but nothing further, I likely can not give them less than a "C" on their grade. But I surely wonder why none of this damage was noticed by the inspector, and grade them well below "A" as a result. I would recommend caution to anyone looking for a home inspection -- shop around, and examine options on various sorts of inspections before you sign a contract.

Amazing experience from start to end. We had 12 days after our ratified contract to complete the home inspection. We had plans to go away for the holidays and Pro Spex was able to come out for a last minute inspection the Friday before Christmas. Pro Spex offers a discount for prompt payment -- and even though I waited till after business hours, Yvonne processed my payment and gave me the credit anyway. We worried that the roof may not be inspected since the house has 3 stories and tall ceilings -- we thought we may need to pay an additional inspection fee to have a roofing company come out. But Glen was able to climb onto the porch roof, then with another ladder go to the upper level to inspect the roof and take some amazing photos for us. He was very knowledgeable about the type of roof structure, even though my husband is in the industry, we learned so much about the old roofing method and other features of the house as well. Glen was quite thorough, I'm certain he put in more time than allotted for the task. He patiently explained everything to us and provided a highly detailed report including photos the same evening as the inspection -- even the eve of Christmas Eve! We could not be more please with the service.

We had actually already been through the home with a contractor, who uncovered a lot of issues and gave us cost estimates, but Glen uncovered even more. Plus, given his experience as an architect, he gave us his idea of the cost of fixing many problems. Further, when we mentioned we were considering moving around some walls, he gave us his perspective on how he would approach doing so.In the end, his report was the most thorough and professional inspection report I have ever seen. We decided to pass on the house, but it is clear that Glen's insight was key in that decision as he discovered many possible money pits. As we continue our home search, I know Glen will be the first and ONLY home inspector I will ever use. I would make sure he is available before ever going into contract, and even delay the ratification date to make sure he gets in there early - he's that good.

Glen did a fantastic job! My husband and I are fairly knowledgeable about property conditions and things that are and aren't okay with houses, but Glen took the time to explain everything he was writing down, in detail and made sure we had no questions. He was incredibly thorough and he caught a lot of things I never would have looked for, as well as being a very nice and friendly man. I will be highly recommending him to any of my friends that buy houses, and even the realtor was impressed - she made sure to take a few of his cards to recommend him to her other clients.

Glen and Yvonne did a wonderful job from start to finish. Yvonne (manager) was very helpful in getting the appointment arranged, answered all my questions, and dealt with additional paperwork. Then on inspection day, Glen was prompt and very thorough. He also answered all my questions no matter how mundane they sounded. He explained how things of my new home worked and what to look for if things aren't working properly. As a novice homebuyer, I so needed that. He also found some things that needed to be fixed although not deal breakers. I will definitely use their services again!

Glen Blanc is an excellent inspector. He was very patient with my questions and when I expressed an interest in many aspects of the house's qualities he gave thorough explanations. He takes relevant pictures and includes them with the report. Because Glen is also an architect he was able to shed light on some of the renovation questions I had. The company is responsive and their website is user-friendly. I was able to make an appointment on line, pay on line, and get my report on line. This is true professionalism.
