We decided to use Pro Spex because of the reviews we found on Angie's List. We were a little disappointed when the inspector did not arrive on time and was actually quite late. I believe there were some scheduling conflicts plus traffic. We were able to easily look this over because of how well the inspection went. Glen was beyond professional and really took the time to explain everything to 2 first-time home buyers. This is something we truly appreciate because there are many things that we do not know or have much knowledge about. Glen went over everything, and I mean everything. There is not one square inch of this home that was not inspected. Glen pointed out some potential problems with the home and we are very happy that these things were brought to our attention because it helps us to know how to proceed. We both left feeling that we were in very good hands. I would and will recommend Pro Spex to anyone who needs a home inspection. Whether it is your first home or just a routine inspection, you will be very happy by choosing Pro Spex.

The inspector was sick, so they had to reschedule. I had to do my inspection within a certain time, so it didn't work out.

Glen was very professional. His appearance, demeanor, the cleanliess of his vehicle were all very impressive. He had the tools needed to complete his task. They were all state-of-the-art! He impressed both my husband and myself with his knowledge and professionalism. Should we ever need a home inspector again, Pro Spex Home Inspection will be the company wecall.

The inspector took pictues of the applicances model and serial numbers; a couple days later I received an email letting me know that there were not recalls on the inspected items.

The deal only covered a certain square footage and I did have to pay an additional amount. Out of three companies I called, they were the lowest bid. The service he provided was okay. They did what was advertised through the deal. The inspector could not access the crawlspace during the home inspection. The homeowners said they would clear the space to the access point and the inspector said that he could come out another time to inspect that area. However, when I later contacted him about it, he quoted additional costs. We ended up pulling out contract with the home because of issues they had found.

The person showed up on-time. was very courteous and professional. He assured he did not carry in the mud. He explained every finding and wrote the report overnight.

Professional expert!There is plenty of truth to you get what you pay for. There were several options available to us and honestly after paying a pretty penny for an inspection for a previous contract we ponder the cheaper options... HOWEVER, Glen's thoroughness reveal the money pit we were about to invest in and saved us a lot of financial hardship. We withdrew our offer/contract. I firmly believe the less expensive home inspectors would not have caught half the things Glen had. When we found home #2- it was a no brainer....The cost benefit far exceeded the cost of a second inspection on a different home. And again, Glen's expert eye caught minor previous water damage and possible termite damage (later confirmed by a third party) that was not disclosed by the sellers. We were able to address these issues but the untrained eye would not have noticed these things as the house was/is IMMACULATE and otherwise well cared for. Thanks Glen/ProSpec! This service was excellent, top notch. Yvonne was professional, courteous, and proficient. She knows her business and handles phone calls with the kind of professional courtesy you should be able to expect for this level of service. Chris was my inspector and he was on time, thorough, patient, personable, and gave me more than my money's worth of information on a potential home. His report arrived that evening, earlier than he had promised, and was concise, easy to read, and easy to forward to the other real estate professionals involved in this transaction. I will absolutely use their services again. Also worth noting that my inspection price through Angie's List included a termite certification. That gentleman was also punctual, professional, and a pleasure to work with.

Went fine- they just didn't have an availability in the time frame we needed. But they were very quick to respond and easy to communicate with.

I paid Pro-Spex in full for a home inspection and a termite inspection on Wednesday, 4/23/14, scheduled for Friday, 4/25/14. I did not receive the termite inspection as agreed. Scheduler and part-owner Yvonne avoided my calls and emails and then blamed me and my agent for her failure. 4/23/14 Paid for Silver Package - Only $405 on a Full Service Home and Termite Inspection. I filled out additional inspection agreement the same evening. 4/24/14 1 PM received a reminder that my inspection was scheduled 4/25 at 1 PM. 4/24/14 6 PM Received receipt indicating I was paid in full for Silver Package - Only $405 on a Full Service Home and Termite Inspection for 4/25 at 1 PM. 4/25/14 My agent and myself and another witness were present to get access to the house. My inspector was Chris, and I asked Chris about the termite inspectors, and he assured me that sometimes they come earlier or later than the scheduled time. The termite inspectors did not arrive in the 4 hours we were at the property. I never received anything from the termite inspectors or Pro Spex indicating they weren't coming. 4/26/14 I never received anything from the termite inspectors or Pro Spex 4/27/14 I never received anything from the termite inspectors or Pro Spex 4/28/14 I repeatedly called and emailed the company and they did not return my calls or my email. I finally called and they picked up in late afternoon 4/28, and Yvonne blamed the termite inspection company for having the email request go into their junk folder, and that Yvonne would get a termite inspection sometime Tuesday, but I had a deadline of Monday, and needed it done immediately. Yvonne assured me she'd get with my agent and get it done Monday. I immediately called my agent on Monday, told him what was going on with Yvonne, and my agent assured me that he gave her a 1-day code to get into the property. I did not hear from Pro Spex since. No calls, no emails. 4/29/14 No calls or emails from the night before. The termite inspection was not done. My home inspection deadline clause was missed, and now I have to make a purchase decision without knowing the termite situation. I emailed Pro Spex again, stating that they had plenty of chance to make this right, but I haven't received what I paid for. And now I am past my deadline to get the inspection, and thus, lost my opportunity to safely consider buying this house. Their treatment of me was not professional nor courteous, and I expected a full refund and apology. Yvonne emails back, "As I stated to you over the phone, I was awaiting access to the property via your agent, in order to get the Termite inspection complete. I do not do the inspections. They are contracted out and I have to coordinate access between agents and inspectors. If you talk to your agent, and as I discussed with you, I was waiting to get access information from him. I did not receive that in time for the inspector to do the inspection. The same thing happened today." So Yvonne is blaming my agent for not granting late access (which he did by getting the 1 day code), when SHE did not confirm the work with whomever she sub-contracted to do the inspection, nor did she follow up with the sub-contractor, nor did she have the courtesy of pro-actively communicating with her customer. She was granted the one day code and she STILL did not get the inspection done, even with an extra day. Blaming customers and agents for her failures is exceedingly bad customer service.

I scheduled our appointment over the phone with Yvonne, who was super helpful. I was a bit paranoid about making sure the inspection happened on the day I selected and called Yvonne two days before the scheduled inspection to confirm. She confirmed over the phone, and then also reconfirmed via email later in the afternoon. Chris was our inspector. He arrived at the house before the scheduled time, had taken all of his equipment out of the truck, but hadn't started the inspection yet when we arrived. He explained to us the process he would use and then began by taking tons of pictures of the outside of the house. When he was done taking photos and ready to begin the inspection, he let us know and he explained all his findings as we went along. He pointed out things we should pay attention to in terms of maintenance, even though there were no problems with item at the moment (e.g. he said that since we get a lot of shade, we may get roof moss and we should make sure to spray it with special spray to keep the moss at bay). Chris spent three hours doing the inspection and was very patient with all of our questions (we are first-time homebuyers). He showed us how to shut off the water and gas to the house and how the electrical panel and other equipment worked. He told us the maintenance schedule for the HVAC and the hot water heater. The report arrived less than 24 hours later (impressive considering he conducted the inspection on a Sunday morning), but there were no surprises in the report since he told us everything he found as he found it. Overall, our experience with Chris and Pro Spex was fantastic and it really helped us feel confident as first-time homebuyers.

We had used them before and liked our experience. We had them check for termites, radon and complete a home inspection. It went well. He was very professional, his attitude was very nice. He explained the entire process, he stopped with each thing he was doing and made sure we understood what he was doing, very thorough. The woman I spoke with to schedule the appointment was also very professional and accommodating. The report came quickly. We asked if we could pay for the inspection at the house closing and they agreed.

Chris was extremely thorough and took the time to explain to us how certain things were supposed to look/work even though he was clearly under the weather and the temperature was below freezing outside. He skipped nothing due being sick, and spent roughly 3.5 hours doing the whole inspection. The inspection report was very detailed with images. It included a full inspection report noting the condition of absolutely everything and an additional summary of all the issues that would need to be addressed. The price seemed slightly high to me, but being able to contact one company to take care of all the inspections at once was worth it.

He went above and beyond. He has great attention to detail and did a great job. I highly recommend him.

it went well - he did a great job and gave lots of good advise. Unfortunately there were a few instances where he recommended that we get a specialist to review as well (chimney, roof, and HVAC) -- so I had to pay another couple hundred for each of those services -- glad I did, they were each broken and needed an estimate -- just wish I knew I was going to have to drop even more money! The office was amazing though - super responsive, answered all my questions, even on a sunday night! Would def recommend!

Amazing work provide by Pro Spex. Very responsible and honest person. Ivonne the owner got in my office on time and she place this small machine (randon monitor) that will measure the gas continous for 2 days. Although the street was covered by snow and weather was very bad, Ivonne come to my house.. got the machine and sent the report at the same day. As the other reviewers state, the deal is not what it seems unless the house size is on the small side. Overall, the cost is not on the cheap side. Having said that, Glen did a very good and thorough job. He was both extremely professional and knowledgable. He took his time as well, answering all of my questions. My guess is that he is consistent as well. I would highly recommend his services.

They did a good job, and there was an issue with the price. I guess I misunderstood the big deal, and thought it would cost much less than what they charged me. That was the only negative part. I liked the fact that they took the time to explain the issues. They were very thorough, they even went up on the roof. Ultimately, I paid the price and I got a good service. I am not sure if I understood what the price was, because there are other providers who must b cheaper. The way it was advertized on Angie's List, was not done correctly, and the price of the package should be listed. The discount was of 50 Dollars, but he charged 400 Dollars, and they just deduct 50 Dollars.

The company requires that you schedule through their website, so I purchased the Big Deal for $405 understanding that I would need to pay additional due to sizing requirements. When I scheduled on their website, the price quoted was $545 for the Silver Package service, which wasn't clear to me because the home inspection cost was $385 and the termite inspection cost was $80 which only equals $465. When I got the contract via email the next day, the total cost was $685. So I inquired about the cost and was told that they price based on square footage and because my property was twice the size of the standard property it was an additional $300. So that does indeed add up accurately, $385 for the inspection and an additional $300 for the additional square footage, and they were offering a discount on the termite inspection. However, my question was if the website discounted cost of the service that I was requesting, which was $545 for a 2000 sq ft home, and the total for my inspection due to the property size, was $140 extra, then if the Big Deal was being honored my cost should be $545 not $685. They couldn't agree to that, they would only agree to an additional $85 discount which still left the inspection at $600. After researching 3 other companies on Angie's List, that cost was significantly more than any other company, so I chose to work with someone else. Based on this experience, that Big Deal is not really a deal at all.

We used Angie's List to find this provider, and used a Big Deal to lower our costs. Scheduling was easy, and despite it being a short holiday week, they worked us in and enabled us to get our inspections completed in the mortgage company's time frame. Glen was our inspector, and he and his assistant were thorough, pleasant and punctual. Glen seems to have a great deal of knowledge about older houses and shared this information about our potential new home as he worked through inspecting the house. The report we received was complete, easy to read and understand and has served as a reference document for us since receiving it. It has served as a reminder of things we should have remembered ( as we had been told the information) and a reference of how things in our 'new to us' home worked. The report has many pictures and notations, information and inferences as were relevant to our home. I would recommend this company time and time again. We have no complaints and while some things have some up since purchasing this home, none of them could have been anticipated by the inspector unless he has a crystal ball that reveals the future. If you are hesitating, don't. Just call and schedule your inspections with this company.

Excellent service starting with my conversation with Yvonne all the way through the inspection and final report by Christopher Quick. I rec'd a thorough tour and inspection of the property I am considering purchasing. I appreciated that the inspector pulled me aside at various intervals to report what he found- all of which he included in the written version- rather than having me shadow him as the clueless lay-person throughout the whole inspection. I would definitely work with pro-spex again.
