Pro Spex Home Inspection Services

Glen came out as scheduled and went through the house thoroughly from top (roof access by drone!) to the bottom (finding leaks in our furnace). After going through the property, Glen took us on a walk through of the issues he had found. Glen found by far way more issues than we would have on our own. His report was very thorough (organized based on safety / priority) and we used it as our guide in what items our contractors needed to fix. As we've never had to have a home inspection before, I can't compare my experience with Glen to other experiences. I expect that there are always hidden issues with a home. In this case the one thing that Glen missed was a toilet leak that caused an expensive water bill.

Excellent- Glen is great and Yvonne is such a wonderful customer service representative. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company and the people that own it. I feel so much more comfortable buying my house because of the painstaking detail and care Glen took to explain everything in the house to us.

Choosing a home inspection company would have been much more difficult without Angie's List and the ability to see reviews. I actually looked at other sites and had come across Pro-Spex based on their reviews, so it was a no-brainer after seeing them here. Glen (one of the co-owners) was our inspector and he did an absolutely amazing job. Not only did he fulfill the duties expected of a home inspector, he took it a step further, explaining how the different household systems worked, how to keep them running well, and basically educating us on how to properly "own a house". He was such a pleasant person to interact with and had us laughing multiple times. While I was initially dreading the three hour "inspection" as being a bit of a boring time, Glen's knowledge/expertise, professionalism, and personality made the time fly by. Using his thermal camera, Glen was able to identify a section of the ceiling that was showing moisture (and verify it with his moisture detector). This led to the discovery of a leaking waste return pipe in an upstairs bathroom that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. The seller credit we received in return for this issue more than covered the cost of the inspection. Even our real estate agent said that it was the most complete and thorough inspection he had ever seen done on a home. Glen was great! He arrived early and got started immediately. It is obvious that he is an expert at what he does. He went over every single aspect of the home with me. We went over the good, the bad, and things that may need attention down the line. He did not skip any of the details. Glen emphasized that he was there to answer any questions I may have, and I asked several. As a first time home buyer, his patience was most appreciated. He obviously takes pride in what he does and I would not hesitate to use Pro Spex again in the future.

Great experience! Professional staff and extremely valuable product that is a key aspect during a home purchase. Our inspector, Chris, showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable and courteous during the entire process. He worked top to bottom, thoroughly examining each room and explaining everything he found. Chris gave us his honest opinion about whether something was important to fix or not critical and he took the time to give his thoughts on home products that he had inspected in other houses. This information will be critical as we make changes to the house we are purchasing. He emailed us the complete inspection report early the next day, with lots of pictures and easy-to-understand explanations covering everything we talked about. Having purchased several homes over the years of moving I have never had a better experience with a home inspector.

Awesome experience! So professional and extremely valuable to anxious homebuyers wanting to make an informed home purchase. We had to schedule a home-inspection on short notice AND a few days prior to Thanksgiving- talk about stressful- but Pro Spex put our minds at ease by scheduling us right away. Then when we had to make a last-minute schedule change (because there was no water turned on at the property), Pro Spex called us outside of their official office hours to re-assure us that they could squeeze us in again, this time the day before Thanksgiving! Once again, giving us peace of mind. The day of the inspection was the worst weather to date this year- freezing rain, sleet and snow. We worried all night whether the home inspection would be cancelled the following morning or if the inspector could even do a full inspection on the exterior. All of the worrying was completely unneccessary because Glen, our inspector and owner of the company, not only arrived at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time but was fully prepared to stand outside and get soaked to the bone examining every last detail of the house. He worked top to bottom, thoroughly examining each room and explaining everything he found. We had a lot of people with us (the realtor, my husband, my father and myself) following Glen around and asking lots of questions, but he was so professional, personable and patient that if he was annoyed he never let on. He taught us how the water heater, furnace, sump pump, electrical and gas worked- I learned so much! Speaking as a woman, I felt a lot more confident about touching dials and understanding emergency shutoffs. Glen gave us his honest opinion about whether something was important to fix or not critical, which allowed us to figure out our budget and whether we could afford the house. He emailed us the complete inspection report later in the day, with lots of pictures and easy-to-understand explanations covering everything we talked about. That information ultimately helped us to decide not to purchase the home and to look for a better investment. It was a tough decision but we were glad we made an informed one. We will be calling Glen again soon because we just put in an offer on a new house! Don't hesitate to call Pro Spex, we are so glad we did!

Brendan was awesome. Very professional and knowledgable. Told me what needed to be done, as well as things I needed to be aware of.

They said I didn't need a new roof but I got a second opinion and they said I did need a new roof. I've recently purchased a new roof and I am very happy with it I'm glad I got a second opinion.

I am a first time home buyer so I didn't know what to expect. Friends had said to be careful about choosing your inspector. I couldn't have been more comfortable and satisfied with the inspector and my treatment from the company. After purchasing their special deal for radon + home inspection on Angie's list I notified my realtor. She said the price was very good for both services. The main office was very friendly and they were flexible in finding a time for both services that worked for me. Then came inspection day and we met Christopher Quick, our home inspector. He was very thorough and explained everything to us. He was very receptive to our questions and explained things by using his own life experience owning a home which is extremely comforting for first time home buyers. It took about 3 hours for our 2222 sq ft town home. At the end he handed us a complimentary book titled "How To Operate Your Home" which is helping me learn about owning my first home. This just shows how dedicated they were to helping us. The report was completed and sent to us the same day. All in all a great experience.

Great Work. Very pleased with approach. Glen did a great job taking time to explain things and pointing out minute details about the home. However, sometimes we felt he was more verbose with explanations. What impressed us most was that, not only was he experienced and thorough with inspections, he used the latest gadgets to evaluate various components of the home.

Glenford (the owner) showed up at the house exactly on time and met me and my wife. After a brief talk about what we were looking for, he went to work on the house. Glen has a well-honed process for how he works through an inspection, going from top to bottom and room by room. Although we were welcome to tag along, given the size of the property we opted to leave him to his inspection plan. As things progressed, Glen called to our attention various items of interest taking the time and care to make sure we understood what he was showing us and patiently answering all our questions. Given the size of the property, we were pleased that Glen stayed with us until the job was done which was after sunset. His through inspection and the follow-up comprehensive report gave us the confidence to move forward a place a bid on the house. Bottom line: Pro Spex was terrific and their excellent reputation is well deserved.

I was very pleased with my experience with Pro-Spex. Yvonne was extremely responsive to all of my pre-inspection questions, and was helped me make a decision regarding which inspection package to purchase. Everything was scheduled seamlessly and I had no issues with payment through Angie's List. On the day of the inpsection, the home inspector and the pest inspector both showed up right on time. The pest inspector showed me a few areas of concern in the basement and explained the issues in an understandable way without causing any unnecessary panic. He described in detail the services I would need to get in order to mitigate the issues he saw and gave me an estimate of cost. Brendan was my home inspector, and he was very knowledgable about different aspects of home repair. I followed him through the whole house and he explained all of the issues he was seeing, along with common repair and maintenance issues I would have to deal with as a homeowner. He answered all of my questions (this is my first home purchase, so I had a LOT of questions) and I learned a lot by following him through the house. He also managed to find a leaky pipe by running all of the water in the house for fifteen minutes or so; the plumber who came in to do the repair could not replicate the problem just by running a faucet or two (we are getting another set of eyes on it), so I appreciate Brendan's thoroughness. I got my inspection reports very promptly, and Yvonne and Brendan were both very accessible by email or phone after the inspection as well. The inspection reports were comprehensive and clear, but was also realistic and did not make every little fix seem like a disaster. When I needed a receipt for the inspection almost a month afterwards, Yvonne emailed it to me within an hour of my request. I'd definitely recommend these guys!

My experience with this company was really excellent!!

Chris met me at the house and we spent a little over 3 hours looking at every small detail. Chris explained a lot and answered all of my questions. The report was very detailed including lot's of pictures. I would definitely recommend using this company and will be using them again myself the next time I need an inspection.

I couldn't use Pro-Spex inspection (except for radon test) as I ran out of time. However, my scheduling experience with Pro-Spex could have not been any better. Yvonne is very prompt and responsive!

Glen and Yvonne are amazing! I'm a first-time homebuyer and purchasing an 87 year-old home, so I knew getting a thorough inspection was key. Yvonne was a dream to work with and got me scheduled in just a few days' time. Glen was unbelievably good -- just the model of what a home inspector should be. He was incredibly thorough, patient, kind, articulate, and full of helpful tips for maintaining and improving my new home. Plus, he had a drone! An honest-to-goodness drone with a camera for pictures of those hard-to-reach places. I purchased the home, termite, and radon inspection. Worth every penny! My realtor wasn't familiar with Pro-Spex and initially recommended someone else, but she's a convert now. By the end of the inspection, she was promising to send all of her clients to Pro-Spex. And I will recommend them to anyone buying a home without hesitation. 9/2015 update: Just wanted to pop back in and say that, nearly a year later, I'm even more grateful for Glen's thorough inspection. I've basically hemorrhaged money into the house over these last 10 months, but so far every single issue that's arisen (and every thing I've preemptively repaired) were things that Glen had flagged. Amazing.
