Metropolitan Moving is owned by two native Washingtonians. Our experienced staff takes pride in handling every move with the highest level of care and service. We assign a moving consultant for each customer who will provide a written estimate, discuss and clarify the details of the estimate, address any questions you may have regarding the move, and provide support throughout the process. They did a wonderful job!
Description of Work: We had to clear out an apartment and store furniture. It was stored for two years. We decided we no longer wanted most of the items that were stored. We made arrangements to come and look at what we might want to keep. Everything was in excellent condition. Metropolitan then took everything we did not need to A Wider Circle, which is an organization that helps people with furniture needs. They were kind, professional and did a fantastic job. We would not hesitate to use them again.

Wonderful and fantastic service.

Description of Work: Overall, the experience was good. They wrapped and moved my furniture professionally and quickly. The only reason for the downgrade is that they scraped my boxspring and another piece through the grass, which left a stain and a ripped cover. I would use them again, but keep an eye on the condition of larger things they may decide to "put down" somewhere.

Description of Work: They rushed through the job, which was very frustrating. I was literally running to keep up with them. They also packed several pieces of my furniture in a manner with which I was not happy. They were fine, but I wouldn't use them again.

I'm sorry you weren't completely satisfied with our service. We certainly never want our clients to feel rushed. I know we started this within-building job in the afternoon, and our crew may have been worried about an elevator cut-off time. Either way, our office staff is available 6 days a week to address any concerns and relay feedback or information to our crews. I feel badly knowing that we added stress to an already stressful situation and would have loved the opportunity to right the ship that day. I am glad that ultimately there wasn't any damage. Description of Work: I used Metropolitan 5 times in the last two years, for me and my kids. The costs varied from $500 to $1200 but their pricing structure is up front, you pay by the hour, for the trip, and for materials. Someone on the crew speaks English. They wrap thoroughly and work quickly. They position rugs and furniture per instructions. I hihly recommend them.

Excellent. It was such a relief to know they were taking care of our things. The crew was punctual, very polite, and worked hard. They were very careful with our belongings. There was only one minor chip in our drywall at the end of the day.
Description of Work: They moved us from our 3 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom town home. They shrink wrapped the mattresses and any loose or unsecured items so they would be protected in transit. Three men completed the job in 6 hours.

It was great. The 3 movers showed up 30 minutes early; they were polite and professional and finished quickly. They got there at 8:30 AM and finished at the new house by 2:30 PM. The original estimate was for $1,000-$1,400 depending upon packed items and quantity. There was a 4 hour minimum, plus 1 hour travel time. We had packed everything ourselves and moved a number of boxes and fragile (lamps, glasses, computers and art) items ahead of time to save time and money. In the end, we saved several hundred dollars. Very few wall-dings (freshly painted walls) or furniture dings. Overall a great experience for movers.
Description of Work: We hired Metro to move our 3 bedroom townhouse from Kensington, MD to Olney, MD. Wrapped furniture, 32-inch LCD, treadmill and futon. All clothes hanging in closets were packed by the movers and placed in wardrobe boxes. FREE!

The movers arrived promptly (actually, 20 minutes early), wrapped all the large furniture, packed all items quickly and efficiently, and had us moved into our new place an hour ahead of the estimated time. They were friendly and conscientious about placing the furniture in the new home. We also appreciated the care they took in protecting the white carpeting.

This is the second time I have used this company. It was clear from the beginning that all the movers were well trained and had the kind of experience I was promised by the estimator. They accepted personal checks for the services they performed which put me at ease. I have mostly antique furniture and a considerable amount of china and crystal, and not one thing was broken upon unpacking the boxes. I was referred to them by a friend and will definitely sing their praises to anybody I hear that is moving. The estimate was actually $400 higher than what the final total ended up being.
Description of Work: Metropolitan packed me 1 day, and loaded and offloaded my furniture the following day. The movers showed up on time, with the right materials, and worked efficiently the entire day.
