Metropolitan Moving & Storage

We picked Metropolitan after three estimates. They were not the lowest but certainly the most responsive and professional. We packed some things and had the crew do the rest. The crew arrived on time and finished up within an hour of the estimate. They were friendly and professional. One problem—some property damage—was handled quickly and wi5hout any hassle. They reported the problem to me and it was repaired promptly by an experienced furniture man. In short, a great job. I would use them again.

It went perfectly, as usual with these guys. Hopefully the flooring company will be just as good!

We originally wanted to schedule our move for 6/16/18 but they were booked, so we asked for 6/23/18, which they said was available, though they tried continuously to get us to agree to move on 6/19/18. We told them multiple times we could not move during the week and that we wanted the 6/23/18 date they said was available. Now just today, they wrote and said that 6/23/18 was no longer available. Ours was a small move and we are sure they bumped us for a more lucrative move even though we scheduled first and chose them because they said they could do the 23rd. This is extremely unprofessional and I would not trust them to abide by their agreements for your future move.

The crew came early and did a great job. They wrapped the furniture and other delicate items in plastic for added protection. They finished the job in less than the estimated time which made the cost very reasonable. We will need to do another move back into our house in a few months and plan to use them again.

This is the third time I have used Metropolitan Movers, two prior home moves and the latest for my office move in Downtown D.C. The guys showed up early, and got to work right away. They hustled the entire time, and even finished ahead of schedule. Metropolitan is a professional company, from the owners to the scheduler to their movers. They were also less expensive than other quotes. I never take the time to write reviews but I would highly recommend and the only company we would use.

The Metropolitan Moving & Storage team handled several moves for us and each time couldn't have been more hard working, friendly and professional! They took the stress out of moving, which is never an easy process. Their customer service is also excellent. Highly recommend!

Packing was done efficiently and well. Nothing broke during the move. The movers worked quickly and tirelessly. Everything arrived in tact. Nothing was missing or damaged. The movers were very honest. I gave them money for lunch and they brought me back change. Boxes were placed in the correct rooms in the new house. I didn't have to hunt for items. My only complaint is that a couple of heavy boxes were placed on high shelves on racks in our storage area in the basement. We cannot get them down to unpack them because they are too heavy. We will have to cut the sides of the boxes to unpack them from the shelves. But that is a minor complaint. Overall, the move went smoothly and the crew worked hard throughout.

Jorge, Nelson and Wilson did the moving and they were excellent and I would highly recommend Metropolitan Moving and Storage.

The 3-person moving team from Metropolitan Movers was excellent. They started in right away wrapping the furniture for the move. Some items were designated for location B and the rest was for storage, so they loaded the truck properly splitting up the items. Then on to location B where they set up furniture and also picked up more items to take to the storage facility. Finally it was time to go the the storage site. I was amazed how they were able to fit everything into the storage locker. They certainly were experienced to be able to fit the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle. The team worked non-stop....no slacking off. We did break for lunch. It was a 8-hour day....all local. Montgomery Village to Gaithersburg.

The very best moving company I have ever used. From the time the owner came to provide me with my estimate to the very last item brought into my home, all was perfect. The moving team, under the leadership of Luis was a group of 5 who worked nonstop. One of the things, and there were many, that I really, really appreciated, was the joy in which they gave off as they moved through the day. They were efficient and extremely conscious of every step they took with my belongings throughout the entire move. I really cannot say enough about this company. I have used movers many times during my life and Metropolitan Moving and Storage proved to be the best ever. Nothing was scarred, scratched or broken...nothing! What a team!!!! A true joy to do business with...

The movers were amazing. Very hard working and professional. We did not have any issues, no items broken, or damaged. We moved from a 3rd and 4th story condo with lots of stairs. The guys worked so hard and so quickly, I was amazed and impressed. They moved us into our new home all in one day! I would recommend Metropolitan Moving and Storage to anyone and I would use them again myself.

We have lived in 2 other homes and always moved ourselves! This was our first time to use a moving company. We chose to do this because of the distance that we were moving to and also because of our age!! The people at Metropolitan were absolutely wonderful! They explained in detail as to how this would work for us, and things went EXACTLY as they said it would! They were very professional, very organized, were punctual right down to the second, and no surprises that one would not be expecting, both in their performance and in cost to us as the homeowners! In comparing the cost of other moving companies, we felt Metropolitan was very reasonable. Looking back on it, even if they were slightly higher because we ended up taking more things with us than planned, the quality and professionalism they offered and we received was WORTH EVERY PENNY!! They took excellent care of our furniture by everything being wrapped with blankets or shrink wrapped for protection. Our furniture left Maryland and ended up in North Carolina in its same perfect condition! We had no "horror stories" of things being broken or missing! The employees that came to our house in Maryland were the EXACT SAME employees that drove the moving truck to North Carolina and proceeded to unload the truck at our new house! They were pleasant, very neat, and hard working men who have a tougher job than people really realize! They came to our house early on a Thursday morning, loaded up the truck, and left by 2:00pm. The drove directly to North Carolina, spent the night in a hotel, and met us at our new house at 10:00am Friday morning! They unloaded the truck leaving our furniture and new house in perfect condition, and pulled out of our driveway at 1:00pm. And that was it!!!! We have and will continue to recommend them to all our family and friends who, at our age, will sometime in the near future find themselves possibly relocating to be closer to their grown children, just as we did. The best description we have for Metropolitan Moving and Storage is that they are TOP OF THE LINE!!! Thanks for a great job and experience at a very stressful time, which everyone experiences when they move. This was a 7 hour drive by car; and for them, it was even longer with a moving truck. It could not have gone any better, and we felt very blessed that we chose them!!

Mario and his crew moved the contents of our home with an efficiency and care for our possessions that I have not encountered before. I have moved many times in my life. There was not a single nick or scratch an our furniture, which consists of quite a few family heirlooms. Additionally, to a person they were all professional, helpful in ways beyond the scope of their charge, and fun to work with. Great people, friendly personalities. They also completed the move a couple of hours quicker than I anticipated.

Amazing. From beginning to end our experience with Metropolitan was great. From our in-home estimate to the movers, to the final bill...everything worked out well. They crew showed up on time, they were extremely careful with our belongings, respectful of our home. Most importantly the crew worked fast and our final bill was less than the estimate! Great service! the movers were very professional and friendly. I was very very very happy with the moving crew! In addition, the office was always available to answer questions and deal with requests. After the job was done, the Manager was very helpful and pro-active when I requested some refund due to a mistake on my bill. Overall, it's a great company and I will definitely use them again.

The movers arrived quite early! My move was scheduled at 9am and they were already there at 8:45 when I got there. A team of four guys moved all the large furniture pieces out of my sold townhouse quite quickly. The entire move only took about 4 hours. There wasn't a scratch on my townhouse, either. Each piece of furniture was wrapped carefully even though the trip was less than 10 miles. Would hire again.

From start to finish, our move with Metropolitan Moving & Storage was excellent. Their estimator, Eddie, did a thorough check of everything beforehand. We were worried about 2 pieces of artwork that were valuable, and he explained that they'd each be securely packed in a custom-built crate. On moving day, the guys were friendly and professional. Our dining table has a stone top that's incredibly heavy, but they figured out the best way to get it out into the truck. The price turned out to be a little less than the original estimate, even with the art crates and extra-heavy table. Nothing was damaged - there wasn't even a scratch or scuff on any walls or floors. Metropolitan Moving & Storage kept our furniture and boxes in their climate-controlled storage for about 11 months. It took longer than expected for our house to be built, but Cassie in the office was great about being flexible. When the house was finally done, she was able to schedule the truck from Maryland to arrive in Florida exactly on the day we'd hoped - even though it was right before Christmas. The guys who brought our furniture and boxes from Maryland to Florida got everything in its place - again, without any damage whatsoever. The 2 pieces of artwork were unpacked and they were absolutely fine. And once again, the amount we paid turned out to be a little less than the original estimate. We are in Florida now, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Metropolitan Moving & Storage. From start to finish, it was a pleasure working with them.

Moved some furniture from house to storage unit. Metropolitan mover staff (2 movers) were terrific. Did a great job moving some heavy furniture and were very professional.
