Words can not describe how happy I am with my move. Everyone that I dealt with in the company was so professional. The moving team went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smooth. The price I got was competitive with everyone made my move as smooth as can be. I would not hesitate using Metropolitan moving and storage again

Metropolitan did a fantastic job! They were on time and the guys were very friendly and professional. They were very efficient and accommodating; they cheerfully moved things around for us when we had second thoughts on where we wanted things placed. Not a single broken glass or ding on any furniture (they are great packers)! (We knew that would be the case since that was our experience with them when they moved us into the townhouse four years prior. ). Top notch guys and top notch work. Metropolitan’s office staff were also great to work with on scheduling and related matters. You can’t do better than Metropolitan—we will most definitely use them again and we recommend them to other folk who are moving.

What a top flight experience. They showed up early, hustled the entire day, showed great care with the items and didn't hesitate to handle any curve balls thrown at them. This is how moving is supposed to be!

Everything was done professionally and efficiently. We had to put our things into storage for a couple weeks before moving into the new house, which meant we were moving twice, but the good news is they came in under the estimate as the movers worked quickly. Price was fair for each move (note: we made sure to prepare as much as possible by taking apart beds and packing all boxes). They also took good care with wrapping the furniture to keep it safe. We had hardwoods in both the old and new house and they made sure to protect them. Even our cheaper Ikea pieces came through without issue. Our furniture and goods were in good shape, nothing broken. Satisfied with the service and would use again.

This review is well overdue but I still want to submit it. I moved in September, 2018. The move was excellent. The movers were professional and moved everything with care. The owner came by and looked at everything that needed to be moved and gave the estimate on the time required for the move. He told me he has been in this moving business for 10+ years and this is what he does all the time. I was very encouraged by this. He said he could low ball the price and then come in high later, but that was not how he does it. I liked that. He recommended 3 guys, which was great, because my last move was with 2 guys and it was like watching paint dry and they actually had to bring in another guy later. I actually had another company come by and I was not impressed by his experience. I am very glad I went with this company. I have actually recommended this company to a friend who has an upcoming move planned.

The movers showed up early. The team, Robin, Juan and Nelson, were very friendly and helpful, even though they were moving fast. When we got to the new location, they were equally efficient getting everything put into the right room. They were even helpful with advice on rug orientation, furniture placement and other decorating decisions! This very stressful experience was made into a fun experience by the team. Great service and great value. I would recommend them in a moment--don't use anyone else!

Extremely well; I've been using Metropolitan Moving for the past 8 years for 3 moves and each time they have met expectations. Workers show up on time and have plenty of supplies in case something needs to be packed last minute. As well, they take great care of the electronic or sensitive items that could break by having plenty of cushion and blankets to wrap them up well. Nothing ever gets broken or chipped. The way they give estimate is also refreshing. They tend to over estimate and tell you up front that it could cost x amount for the entire move. But every time after the move, the actual amount due ends up being significantly less. I like that they don't entice or tease you with a low amount going in only to charge you extra after all the move has been done.

They were outstanding. A representative came over about a month before we moved to give me an estimate and gave me some packing tips. A week or two later, they dropped off packing supplies. The movers arrived at around 8 on moving day and started moving us at around 8:20 (after patiently waiting while we helped jump a neighbor's car blocking the reserved spot). They were completely done and pulling away from our new house at 1:30 (this includes time for a lunch break and transit time between the two houses). We had mostly packed ourselves but they did help with a few areas that we hadn't finished. The movers were extremely friendly and took great care with our belongings. I couldn't believe how quickly they worked. I would use them again without hesitation and would highly recommend this company to anyone in the DMV who needs help with moving.

Both crews were punctual, kind, and extremely courteous and professional. Everything was packed/ unpacked/ stored with utmost care. The office personnel are also wonderful. They followed up and did everything they could to make things as easy as possible (even though we had to change our move date twice!). I would highly recommend Metropolitan Moving and Storage to anyone.

Great. I had some items moved while I sold my house, during which the items were in their warehouse. When it came time to move, the rest of my furniture and boxes were picked up and also went into storage, this time for a week. Then everything was unloaded at my house. All 3 moves were handled professionally. My items were taken care of. The movers worked quickly and were nice. I was very happy with the moves. My last move was also with them and I was happy that time too. So I definitely recommend them.

Great! Packers were super fast and did a great job, including labeling every box. Movers were equally professional, working in the cold rain and still finishing the job by dinner.

Even with some rain, these fellows did a great job and broke nothing. They really knew how to unpack a POD that had moved from across the country and so some content shifting had occurred. There's no point in trying to find the cheapest service when your stuff is broken or misplaced. That had happened to me before, and I'm very glad to have used such a good firm. It's just not worth the worry and aggravation.

We moved within DC in both 2017 and 2018. Both times we used metropolitan moving and were very pleased with the level of service. No breakages, very fast workers, and everything more or less went to the right room. This was the cheapest of 3 quotes on both occasions. We would not hesitate to use metropolitan again.

It went very well! Metropolitan was recommended by my trusted realtor. They made 3 moves totally 6 destinations in Va. for me without any problems. They were efficient, organized, strong and trustworthy. Everything was well packed and protected plus the price was very reasonable. I would recommend them unconditionally.

The whole process could not have been easier. The two men who came to load up the truck were capable of handling all parts from moving very large office file cabinets filled with files to securely wrapping and transporting an 18th Century English Secretary with very large glass doors. The same two men who loaded also drove, unloaded, unwrapped and placed everything in the new home just as I directed. They were efficient yet careful at the same time. Everything arrived safely and on time.

My family and I have been doing business with Metropolitan for approximately 10 years and have always referred them to anyone who was looking for a moving company. However, my last move with them was disappointing. What follows is an email sent to them and received no response; therefore, I have decided to make it public. Because I have used Metropolitan Moving and Storage exclusively during the past 10, I want you to know how unhappy I was with the last move. The move was not efficient nor was it stress free. I use Angie's list a lot but will not post a negative review because of my years of positive experience with your company Metropolitan Movers did not pad and wrap all my furniture as stated in its brochure.. The movers did not wrap my pictures but put the pictures in a self-made cardboard crate. As a result, one picture got damaged on one side. 1 glass top for a small table was not delivered. The metal that the light bulb screws into was hanging loose in one of my lamps. Two of the drawers in the tv cabinet were not aligned properly. As for the crate with the pictures, when they reached my new address, they asked me where I was going to hang them, I replied, I do not know, can you leave them in the crate. They replied "no" they had to take the crate. I replied that in all my years of doing business with Metropolitan, they always wrapped the pictures, and padded and wrapped all of my furniture and protected my lamps. The reply was "they were trying to save me money “ NOTE: The movers seemed to be inexperienced and in a hurry. The crew did not meet my expectations and certainly did little to uphold your reputation. This is a followup to an earlier review I did. Its important for viewers to know that after posting an earlier review, the owner of the company did reach out to me. It appears that my email went unnoticed because I did not send it to the proper site. I consider Metropolitan Movers to be the white glove of the industry and believe they work hard to maintain that image by responding to and correcting any negative concerns of its customers.

Amazing. Metropolitan movers exceeded my expectations. The crew that moved us out of our house were the same that moved us in many months later and states away. It could not have gone smoother.

Unfortunately, the day of the move was one of those all day rains. The movers were prepared and had drop cloths everywhere protecting the furniture. The furniture had been wrapped in order to protect against bad weather. The move couldn't have gone better and I would highly recommend Metropolitan Movers to anyone considering a move.

This is my second move with this company. So professional. Very friendly staff. Very honest and reliable. I truly recommend!

I am late leaving this review, but wanted to all the same. We read every review out there about every company we could find and decided to go with Metropolitan. Not only were the reviews good, but they were one of the few that had all the work certificates necessary. We called and they sent out a person the very next day to do an onsite inspection and quote. The man was fast, efficient and extremely courteous with ideas and suggestions and knew just what we wanted. On the day of the move, Oct 19th, the truck showed up right on time. There were two men and a truck with ample space for our two bedrooms, living room, dining room and a storage area filled with boxes of books. The two immediately assessed what to move first and like a well trained army, they had us all packed in the truck within two hours. The drive was a 3 hour drive across the state and I expected them to say they would have to wait until morning to unload. But they were eager to get there and unload. We met them there and again, within another two hours, they had all the furniture in the rooms and placed where we wanted. They not only put the furniture down, they removed all the protection, tape, boxes and all other trash and took it with them. Not only did we give them money to stop off on the way up for lunch, as the trip would put them at our new home well after 2pm, but we tipped them well because they certainly earned it. This company was awesome and we both recommend them highly. We've never had a move go so easily. Not only were they pleasant to deal with and efficient beyond all dreams, but they even finished so fast the actual cost was $500 less than quoted. Metropolitan rocked and we definitely couldn't go without passing that along.

They moved half of our condo to storage and the men were outstanding. They were fast, careful, and took great care of everything while being polite and professional. They were able to schedule my move with only three days notice and it took them less than 3 hours. I WILL hire them again when it's time to move everything to our new home.
