Description of Work: Metropolitan was awesome. They were prompt, professional, and efficient. The cost came in below estimate for moving out, storage, and move-in. I appreciate the care they took with our furniture and our home. I would highly recommend Metropolitan.

Description of Work: Metropolitan Moving & Storage did an excellent job moving about 10 pieces of furniture from Annapolis to Rockville, MD. This was not a big job, but they took as much care with my things as if they were moving a whole house of furniture. They gave me an estimate over the phone, but it actually cost less than the estimate. I called just a few weeks before I needed their services and they were able to accommodate me, offering several dates. All the employees were very nice, professional, and polite. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs furniture, including a piano (as in my case) moved.

Description of Work: Metropolitan Movers facilitated a multi staged move for us. They were amazing and made each part come together perfectly. They were professional, helpful and seriously hard workers. We will use them for the next 2 phases of this move with no hesitation.

Description of Work: They were fast and efficient and overall a fantastic company. Very convenient if you need something stored, as they do both the moving and the storage bit requiring very little coordination on your part. Climate controlled storage prices are very affordable. |The only (minor) issues: 1) when the movers arrived they didn't think they had enough people when they showed up and I had to wait a bit (recommend getting a cost assessment well in advance of the move to avoid this); and 2) Towards the end of the move the movers dropped something and damaged the tile floor and wall, but the manager contacted me immediately after I notified the company and offered to send someone in to repair the damage.

Description of Work: Two guys came and moved beds, boxes, and some antique furniture to our row house. They were careful to wrap the old pieces and carry them up narrow stairs. They hustled which kept the costs down as they charge per hour. I was happy with them. It was easy to schedule the move over the phone, although I had more stuff than I thought so the guys had to call the shop and say it would take longer. The extra expense to add more hours was reasonable.

Description of Work: They loaded a household in Potomac, MD to Pittsburg PA. an interstate move, the moving crew of only 4 men emptied the large home in 2.5 hours and moved the furniture in to the other home in 2 hours.

Description of Work: We sold our house in Bethesda and were moving to a condo in DC. We got estimates from five moving companies (all from Angie's List) and selected Metropolitan. Eddie, the company estimator, had told us he would highball the estimate and that the final total would probably be lower. He was as good as his word. As recommended, we packed as much material as we could by ourselves using materials supplied by Metropolitan. On the day of the move the crew showed up right on time in the morning and went to work. They could not have been more professional--the obvious result of excellent training and considerable experience. They were very quick as well. The entire move was finished in a little over half a day from door to door. Not a single item was broken or injured in the move. And, as Eddie predicted, the entire job came in well under estimate--by $800.00. These people are real pros. They provide exactly the service they say they will, no fuss, no bother. We would use them again without hesitation.

Description of Work: Let me start by saying ours was a big move - two households of stuff from Maryland to our new home in Ohio. We used them for interim storage of two "declutter" moves of stuff, to clear both houses out to put them on the market to sell. Then they later retrieved all that and came to both houses to remove the rest of our goods and furniture (no large appliances). They filled up a truck and a half. Everything up to delivery on the Ohio end appeared to us to be good - punctual, and competent in wrapping and stowing on their trucks. The delivery and unpack evolution left a lot to be desired however, primarily because the company did not permit the crew of 5 mover-guys to travel the day before and stay overnight (which we thought we were paying for in the price, mind you). Instead, they forced them to travel the entire distance and then immediately do the unpack in Ohio. They were tired, and not happy, and it sure as heck showed in the way they did their job. We thought we had everything pretty well marked and planned out (where to put stuff in certain rooms, the garage, etc), but that fell apart not even half way through as the guys just gave up trying to follow any markings or guidance from us. We ended up with a garage literally "cubed out" and no way to figure out if we'd received everything. About 2 months later after we dug out we discovered that they'd not delivered some shelving units we were counting on to hold a lot of the stuff we'd paid to have moved all the way to Ohio. We were so overwhelmed with the aftermath of the lousy experience that we didn't raise the issue with the company. To heck with them... we were too durned busy getting settled and we just didn't want to deal. Instead, we figured we'd input a good report on what they did (both to us and the poor b****** mover guys, who we had to sympathize with despite our disappointment). So here it is. We probably could have done a bit better going with a national chain that would have people on the Ohio end to do that side of the job. Lesson learned. Hope you get some help from this and avoid using these guys if you are moving out of state. If you're needing a short move in Maryland, they'll probably do, but I won't recommend them after what they did to those fellas.
