They were awesome! They were kind, moved as quickly as possible, asked questions, navigated through small room doors with big furniture. They knicked a wall on the way out but came to patch and paint very quickly. They also were a little late and time was under estimated (9.5 hrs vs 11.5) but price didn’t increase. They spent 3 hrs at the old house, 3hrs a the storage unit before grabbing lunch on the go! Their work ethic is amazing. They are very professional and careful! I would use them again.

Great! The owner came to the hold house and walked through everything with me, and gave me an estimate for the move. He was very thorough and asked a lot of questions, which I appreciated. They offered us free boxes for moving, and the free use of wardrobe boxes as well. On moving day they showed up on time (even a few minutes early) and were really hard workers. The move actually took a bit longer than predicted, but they have a price guarantee so we didn't pay any extra. At the new house there was some furniture (that we bought from the prior owners) and they willingly helped us move that around. They were extremely careful with everything, wrapping all the furniture in protective cloths. I would definitely recommend them.

Very economical; very cordial; very professional; very attentive to customer's needs! Every party of the team represented the company well. Jose and the 2 gentlemen who actually did the move were 100% service-oriented, very thorough, and reliable. Enjoyed giving my business to a local enterprise. They saved me money by offering me used boxes. Only opportunity for improvement: Would be a good idea for packers/movers to compress pillows, blankets, and linens (like with a spacer saver vacuum sealer or plenty of brawn) to reduce bulk.

The movers were professionals and very polite. They were able to accommodate moving difficuluties like tight spots and staircases. NOT a single item was damage during the move incl dozens of glasses and stemware. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend!!!!

It went awesome! All the guys were professional and had a great system - wrapped furniture, separated artwork in a fixed space on the truck, unloaded truck and multiple Pods. They even dropped off boxes when we ran out. All in all - 300+ boxes and only one broken bowl. We literally could not have asked for more!

They were professional and very careful with all of our belongings. All furniture was wrapped in blankets and taped for protection. All art work was stored in a partitioned box that is affixed to the floor of the truck. They even disassembled and moved a swing set and unloaded 2 storage units for us. They were AWESOME and everyone - from the owner, to the office manager, to the crew were easy to work with. We had one broken dish in over 300 boxes -- that is AMAZING! What's more is that they will drop off boxes for you to use for packing. I cannot say enough about this company or their staff - everyone was absolutely terrific and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

They did a wonderful job protecting my furniture with padding and other items like mirrors and artwork. They completed the move in estimated time without incident and while I'm not 100% unpacked at this time I did not suffer any damage to my furniture or personal items. Jose and his team were very polite and helpful. The company was very professional and I couldn't be more pleased. I would highly recommend them.

The movers showed up on time and had enough staff to support the move. Unlike my previous move of only 2 movers, which one left early, and the other was loading well after midnight. They were pleasant and willing to put items in the rooms I wanted. They did not charge me extra for the stairs and my final bill was straight forward. No games or surprise charges. If I ever have to move, I will call Maryland Movers.

The workers showed up exactly when they said the would. They were all very professional. They took care to wrap all items that needed it. Once the truck was loaded, they transported all my belongings to Ohio. My niece met them and said all the unpacking went great. She was very impressed with their professionalism. It was well worth it to hire them for my move and certainly took stress away from me. Highly recommend them.

The moving crew was very nice, careful, and professional. They were thorough in wrapping the furniture and padding the fragiles. If you want your stuff wrapped up well, this is the moving company for you. My only complaint in this process, is they didn't seem to have a more efficient way of packing and padding the framed art. When I checked on progress in this category, I realized they were wrapping every piece individually. If you have valuable or unique pieces, the individual wrapping is probably preferable. But for our collection of wall hangings, I was expecting a large and long frame box with just paper padding between each. Their staff who set up the move and take notes on your needs are nice to talk to and thorough. Just be sure to ask that your specific needs or questions be added to the notes on your job so the next rep will know what you're talking about the next time you call. If you need specific boxes or specific supplies be sure to mention it and describe in detail. Maryland Movers makes the most of free boxes and cardboard. This helped lower our bill. If a specific type of box is needed, they will have to know in advance to bring it and add it to your estimate. I would say Maryland Movers is responsive when you call; thorough with wrapping; and very good at packing a truck tightly for the move. I would especially recommend them to those who need to maximize packing of truck volume.
Description of Work: Maryland Movers provided packing and truck loading. We packed up about 50% of our house contents ourselves. Maryland Movers finished the rest: clothes, kitchen contents, art, electronics, closets. The following day, they loaded the truck and wrapped the furniture.

Maryland Movers came out to our apartment to perform the estimate. The estimator was very professional and offered us a couple of useful suggestions (wardrobe boxes, art bins, extra boxes and packing tape). All of those were free and saved us a lot of time during our packing. The estimate was a little inaccurate, ( the time it actually took us to move was less) but we only paid for the time that was used. On moving day a crew of 4 came out to the apartment and packed up all of our furniture. All the furniture was wrapped in blankets and nothing was scratched. They also moved various heavy boxes (wardrobe boxes, art bins with pictures, clothes, shoes and heavy items). When we arrived at the house, the furniture was unpacked and moved promptly. The movers put down blankets so not to damage the floor. Everything was moved and re-assembled correctly. The only thing that went wrong at all, was we got a small dent on our wall from the movers accidentally bumping into it (they were carrying a very heavy dresser). However, the cost to repair the dent was taken out of our check which was very appreciated. Good job Maryland Movers!! Definitely recommend.

they don't mention in the ad you have to pay extra for travel and something else that cost me another $150. So even though the deal was $150, I paid $300 total to move 2 beds and 2 dressers 3 miles down the road. However the scheduler was nice and the moving people were efficient and no problems. When it was getting close to the 3 hour time limit I asked them to please finish up because I was not going to pay for additional time. They did without a problem. THey got the job done, but I probabily would not recommend for a small job.

They arranged to bundle and deliver the boxes while I wasn't home. The boxes are good quality. Also included was packing tape and paper. I have not completed my one bedroom move yet but the amount of boxes seems to be adequate. Very easy to work with.

I'll just bullet point my issues instead of a long drawn out review as to not waste your time: 1. our original delivery date was rescheduled, less than one week before our move, due to a "mix up" in scheduling by their receptionist/customer service rep/billing department/scheduler, Amy. There was no remorse for the amount of planning we had done and our schedules. It appeared as though we were pushed back because they received a larger, more profitable job that required" all of the staff". 2. the rescheduled day of pack out, the packers were to arrive anywhere between 8 and 10am. When I called Amy to ask ETA around 9:45am she assured me she would call the guys and make sure they call me when they are at least 30 minutes away. It was already 9:45. I never received a call and the guys arrived at 10:45am. We did a walk through of the house. I communicated what gets packed, what doesn't. Although they seemed to understand, they spoke very little english and had a difficult time communicating with me throughout the day. 3. guy packing the basement, packed several items in a designated area that i specifically asked NOT BE PACKED. In going through the boxes to fish them back out, I noticed breakable items just thrown in boxes with little or no wrapping. Also he had not marked the outside of any boxes with "Fragile" or "Basement". 4. upon leaving on the first day of packing, the 3 guys pretty much up and left like it was an evacuation. Leaving a tall ladder right in the middle of my daughters nursery where she would be sleeping that night. Open blade box cutters, trash, doors/windows wide open and items left out on the driveway that one of them had moved out of the garage. 5. after communcating our level of disappointment with how the first day went, the next morning Louis (manager)arrived with the crew to oversee the day and allow me to communicate issues and concerns. So I referred to photo frames that I had seen one guy pack away in regular boxes when we had been told that all artwork and picture frames would be in frame boxes. He said small frames would be wrapped and boxed but yes our larger pieces would be in special protective frame boxes. Also at that time he told me that they were going to honor our original delivery date. However it seemed a little disingenuous and had become more beneficial for them in some way. 6. Louis left after about 30 minutes. The guys worked fast to finish packing and started to load the truck. Except I had to follow behind them constantly to make sure things were wrapped or boxed or labeled. They were taking things out of our home, unwrapped or box, and were going to just throw them on the truck as is. 7. After a long day, the truck was full. Except there were still items left to put on it!!! It began to rain. Many of our things outside. I HAD TO ASK them to kindly move them into the garage so they would not get soaked. The crew had to call back Louis who came and they loaded our left over belongings into his personal vehicle. Saying they would reconfigure the truck in the morning. So great, our personal belongings will be in your car overnight. 8. Called the owner the next morning(it was a very long and exhausting night) to express my total shock and disappointment with how our entire move had been conducted thus far. He made assurance that our items were fine and the crew would call the day of delivery. He had Louis call me who assumed me that 3 guys would be delivering our goods and it would be a much faster process that the pack out. 9. My husband calls me from our new home in Georgia to tell me that only 2 guys arrived. And as they are unloading the truck and unpacking he notices the following: a)his very expensive fishing pole was packing taped together to a shovel and broom from the garage. b) our over $2k bedroom set had PERMANENT MARKER WRITING ALL OVER IT(explained later that is was so they could put it back together?!?!?!). c) none of our artwork or large framed pictures were in the frame boxes promised and some were not even wrapped. d) they used an old comforter bag to stuff over 20 pictures fames into it. e) our 60' flat screen tv was put in the original box however they had thrown out all of the styrofoam, so it had no protection. f) every piece of large furniture we own was damaged in some way. Knicks, dings, scratches etc. 10. Again we communicated with the owner, Gai, that we could not believe this is how he conducts his business and how his employees are trained. We are a former military family that has moved several times and this is the absolute worst pack out, move in we have ever had. And whats worse is, this one was out of our own pockets. Gai promised he would me with us when my husband got back into MD to pick up me and my daughter. My husband, upon trying to call several times, left a message with the time and date he would be available at the old property. We never heard from Gai. 11) LAST ONE. Before paying the last half of our bill, we clearly communicated all of the above with Amy since the owner never returned our phone call. We believed that we were promised a level of professionalism and quality of work that was not provided. Her response basically was that the only thing would could do is claim damage to the furniture and since they are legal only responsible for the minimum weight per pound liability, we were looking at $50 max to be handed out to us. When we requested that a discount be given on the work completed (we did not want discount on weight of truck/move since that was not our issue) she called the manager Louis who offered us a lousy 5% ( a little over $200) discount off an almost $5k job. LET THIS ALL SPEAK FOR ITSELF. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND POSSESSIONS.

We are shocked at some of the comments as some are very untrue and misleading. The date the customer requested was changed because the customer failed to complete the required deposit and signed confirmation letter to be considered “fully booked” and have their moving date secured. As the customer became easily angered, we did our best to try to accommodate their move, however, in the busiest season in moving we cannot guarantee that dates will be held unless our 2 requirements are met. Our packers try to work in an organized environment and will only leave materials on site with the permission of the customer. We would not leave an unsafe environment for our customers, especially in a home with young children, since many of our employees have families also and value family safety. With regards to the packing, we do not use any other materials such as plastic bags to pack the customer’s belongings. We exclusively provide free used boxes to our customers and use them when packing services are requested. When the customer called and said she was unhappy with the way the move was going thus far, we sent out a manager to ensure customer satisfaction. The manager leaves after the situation is under control and remains actively involved in the moving process. Unfortunately, one of our packers used permanent marker on the bed frame to be able to reassemble the bed correct. However, we took responsibility for it and accounted it into our claim. When our movers realized that a few items would not fit in the truck, the manager went back to the site. Because of the weather and late hour of day, we felt it would be best to have the items packed inside of the manager’s vehicle and taken back to the warehouse to be stored overnight and the items did not remain in the manager’s personal vehicle. The truck was repacked the following day and everything fit as expected. On the delivery to Georgia, we assigned 2 movers since the customer requested a specific date for delivery and we wanted to honor her request. We have a delivery time frame for long distance moves as any transportation company, but because the customer seemed upset during the previous days of moving we decided that it would be best to send out the truck with 2 movers, than not sending out the truck at all and waiting for 4 movers to be available. After the delivery, the customer called in to the office to say that although the items arrived in good condition, they were still unhappy about the way it was completed. As part of our job, we strive to maintain customer satisfaction. We made every effort to give a discount for the services, however, the complaints were not about damages and could not be assessed under a claim besides the marked bed set. The customer specifically asked for a discount on the packing because that is what they were most unhappy about and was given almost a 40% discount on the packing rate. At the end, the communication became very inconsistent as we had very different conversations with the husband and the wife. Sometimes, It is difficult to communicate about problems when there is more than one contact as a customer as the information that one person will give is different from the information of the other. As a moving company, we strive to ensure that every customer has a pleasant experience, unfortunately there are just some moves that are not 100% to the satisfaction of the customer, and this can be said in any business. However, we feel that some of the complaints the customer posted on Angie’s List may have been stretched because of their frustration which we understand as we are all humans and have our bad days. But we still would like to thank the customer for choosing our company, and we hoped that we could have had a more desirable outcome, for this we apologize.

I called Maryland Movers in a panic on Tuesday 10/28 with a desparate plea to help us on 10/31 or 11/1. Our scheduled move had fallen through and we were completely unprepared to pack ourselves up in just three days while still trying to work full time. We didn't have time to pack, we didn't have the materials to pack. For background: As a member leaving the military, you are authorized to have a final military-funded move up to your Home of Record. My husband and I just bought a home, so we decided since we were staying in the state, to use our last military move. We went through the ridiculous process of scheduling our move online (the only way they schedule it now) with the miltary transportation office (TMO). After hearing nothing from TMO for over two weeks, we were told Monday 10/27, that our scheduled move for 10/31 would not happen and we would need to pick another date of 11/12 or later. Our rental lease was up - we had to be out no later than 11/2! Onto Maryland Movers saving the day: As I mentioned, I called Maryland Movers in a panic on Tuesday 10/28. I spoke with Amy at Maryland Movers who cheerfully told me that they could pack us up and move us either 10/31 or 11/1 and for a great rate! She made me feel completely at ease with the company and their abilities and really showed herself to be a true professional. On Saturday, the guys called about 45 minutes beforehand to tell us they were on their way. As soon as they pulled up, my husband and I had the chance to meet everyone and give them a quick run down of what needed packed. They were a great group of guys. They were amazing. I don't think they ever stopped moving! One box after another piled up in our emptying rooms. They were quick and efficent. I guess we had a lot of stuff, but they were only a half hour over the phone estimate. Once the packing and loading of the truck was complete, we met them at our new location, and again they wasted no time in unloading the van. They unwrapped all our the big items (couch, loveseat, tables, etc). They even set up our bed and reconnected the dining room table. Nothing was or has been broken due to the move. Also, these guys do not skimp on packing paper! I think the kitchen alone filled over 8 trash bags full of packing paper. We were immensely impressed with Maryland Movers and would recommend them to anyone. We are so thankful that they were able to come through quickly for us, it was such as relief.

They arrived with 3 personnel and did not waste time. They wrapped and cared for all glass (included In the price unlike some others) and used padding extensively to protect all the items. They placed all items in the correct rooms at the new place. They completed the work within 30 minutes of a phone estimate which was very impressive. The prices were very competitive with no surprise charges. Amy at the office was professional and answered any questions and/or concerns I had. I recommend and would use again.
