Lowe's Of Laurel

My simple 11 x 13 Lowe’s kitchen upgrade (footprint replacement) is now 20% OVER BUDGET and THREE MONTHS PAST projected completion date with absolutely NO END IN SIGHT. No project oversight or coordination. Endless mistakes, finger-pointing, excuses, delays. There has literally been only one day of work in the last TWO MONTHS. Even when this project concludes, there will be issues that can NEVER be fixed due to bad design and measurement mistakes. Lowe’s insisted on taking my $27K up front, ensuring the subcontractor wouldn’t be paid until the job is complete. Early in the project when the kitchen was gutted, Lowe’s shook me down for $4K more and still can show no evidence of the reason for the additional money. In fact, I caught the subcontractor in a big lie about this point. I generally believe you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and for this reason, I have been patient and understanding particularly through the holidays, expecting some traction after New Year’s, but no. I tried going through the proper channels by engaging the store manager (very sympathetic and polite, but absolutely powerless), contacting corporate/customer care twice. They “understand your frustration” but they won’t put you through to a District Manager. Everything cycles back to their CPO (project management office) in Indiana, which I believe is the source of the problems. I have photos and email chains that would astound you. Seriously, before you sign a contract, read search "Lowe's Kitchen" on Google, Yelp, Twitter, Facebook, etc. We're all dealing with the same stuff. #kitchenrenovation #kitchenremodel #buyerbewarned #5monthsistoolong #Lowes

They did a good job and they were professional. The only problem is when they gave me the estimate, they told me the trim inside the sliding glass door could be replaced. When the installers came to do the job, they told me that was not something they could do.

They did a horrible job in terms of communicating to the customer.

It was around $700 with the military discount. They were supposed to install it and we were not told that we had to have the drip pan. We were going to use the drip pan from our previous one and it didn't fit, so we wound up buying a new one. They cracked the old one, so we had go back. Plus we weren't told that our delivery was for installation but it didn't include cutting the hole in the drip pan to line it up with the drain in our floor. So, we were really upset about that. We wound up buying the pan and cutting the hole in the pan and was able to lift up the washer with my dolly and installed the washer myself. As far as service, I would have to give them a "C". Yes, we would use them again.

The Bissell carpet cleaner worked very nicely and was extremely easy to use. I like this Lowes but I have one complaint. If I need to return anything, it always takes a long time at the service desk even if there is only 1 or 2 people ahead of me. I am not sure what takes so long to assist customers, but they really need to improve the wait time.

I ordered over the phone and the delivered it. I went with them because it was cheap, they were running a sale.

They're somewhat similar but the one we go to is a little better than the Home Depot is sometimes.

They met my expectations and I am fine with them. The thing that stands out with them was that they were able to answer my questions I had.

It went great ? we are satisfied beyond our expectations. Here are some details. Lowe's is somewhat unique in that they provide an overall design coordinator to help guide customers through the process of selecting cabinets, flooring, lighting, countertops, and everything in between. Our coordinator at the Dulles Lowes was James Stoffelen who we would have met at the outset of design journey except he was just coming onboard with Lowe's. Initially we just worked with Susan on cabinet selections. She helped us make our initial selection of dark cherry Kraftmaid cabinets. As this was happening James came aboard and came over to our house to visit along with the Lowes installation contractor. A separate review has been selected for the Lowe's contractor (CGI Home Solutions) ? they did a fantastic job. Susan had to take some personal time so James assigned our job to John Parker who is their most experienced cabinet designer. James was a key reason why we ended up going with Lowe's instead of the other fine group of people we worked with. James has a lot of design experience and a good feel for what works and what doesn?t. It was great to have someone like him to bounce design selections off of and get an honest opinion. Most of the time we took his advice and, in those several instances where we didn?t, he rapidly tuned into what we were looking for and helped us refine the choices. A good example was the flooring. We initially wanted to go with Tigerwood which was very beautiful and which James liked too. We started to get concerned, however, that Tigerwood might be too strong a statement with the cabinets and countertops we were converging on. He picked up on this and helped guide us to the Natural cherry floors which are now installed and with which we couldn?t be more happy. We are likewise extremely happy with the handles and lights and other items he suggested. The cabinet selection process required many sessions with John Parker and we sincerely appreciated his skill, patience, and deep knowledge of each cabinet manufacturer?s features. John was the first to notice that it was going to be difficult to fit the new convection oven into the oven cabinet we were about to order along with all of the other cabinets. When we mentioned this to the other major retailer we were working with at the time they recommended we build the new cabinet from scratch. Both John Parker and James Stoffelen convinced us that the best looking solution was to go with the oven cabinet and allow the contractors carpenter to do the modifications. That?s what we did and it looks great. During cabinet installation Lowes? contractor, James, and John maintained good communications which was necessary to insure the huge stack of cabinets, trim, and hardware stacked in our garage got properly installed in our kitchen. Throughout most of the design process we had an archway (valance) over our window that matched the one over the to-be-installed gas oven. This required some customization and a few extra dollars and towards the end we eliminated it. When everything was installed we (us, James, and the contractor) realized should have kept it in the design. We ordered the material and without too much delay got it installed. It looks great! My only knock on James, and John is that it would have been better if they had mildly pressured us to ?stay the course? in the first place. The job is done and love our new kitchen. Looking back we think we made the correct decision to go with Lowe's. We may have been able to save money by doing the contracting ourselves but then we would have missed out on all the design support help we got from James and the great job executing the job from the Lowe's contractor (CGI Home Solutions).

It was a good rate. They did a very good job. We went with them because they had a good price and good service. It was good quality and they were right on time.

They use a host of installers. We've had good luck dealing with them. We were previously searching for cabinets for our kitchen and we got the best design from them so we contracted with them for that. They did a fine job. The salesman was helpful and knowledgeable in picking out the doors.

Our experience working with Lowes on our cabinets (both purchase and installation) was great. Our salesperson John was excellent. He really understands both the design element as well as the carpentry and installation process. He asked great questions and pointed out a few things I hadn't thought of that ended up being very important to the installation process. The install crew led by Elias was also excellent. Our install was very challenging as neither our ceilings nor our floors were truly level, so it was a challenge to extend the soffit over the new cabinets (and ensure just the right amount of height for the cabinets since some went floor to ceiling). But they did an excellent job and the cabinets look beautiful. The only small negative was that throughout the process I called and e-mailed with some questions and a few times it was difficult getting a timely response. But I know they were all extremely busy. I would definitely recommend Lowes installation team to friends and neighbors.

It went extremely well. they were very professional, cleaned up most of the mess they made, were quick, helped us understand any issues or questions. The price was great.

It was great. They were very professional, very polite, and they kept me well-informed during the entire process. The job ran smoothly from start to finish.

Because this particular refrigerator model was in short supply the day we ordered it on April 9, 2011, it was difficult to find another one on April 10. Philip Pekanyande at Lowe's in Sterling, VA. contacted us on Monday, April 11 to say he couldn't find a replacement anywhere. After he spoke with his manager, he told us that the newer versions of this model were shipping from the manufacturer and we could have one, as soon as they arrived. On Friday, April 22, Philip called to say that the only model that was due to ship, was the new display model and he was routing that refrigerator to our house instead of the Sterling store. It was installed on April 23 and the damaged fridge was removed. We are quite happy with the new refrigerator and all the help we received from Philip and several employees at the Lowe's in Sterling.

Door was ordered incorrectly. Installer found the problem. Door re-order could not be sped up. Took twice as long as was necessary to get the door. Managers were difficult to get a hold of.

They removed the old fencing, dug holes, replaced poles, and installed new fencing and gates. The work was done professionally. Initially there were some issues as they were changing contractors, but once they established a contractor the work progressed rapidly and they finished in an exceptional manner. The price they charged was good as I was expecting it to be more expensive. The vinyl fencing was cheaper than the wooden one. I have used them on and off over the years. They have some issues because they took all the old people and hired new people because of the cost. However, the people that work on special projects are experienced people and they are very professional.

Everything went great. They were the lowest of the companies we checked into.

They are very customer oriented and very friendly. They have a huge selection to choose from. The store there is very clean. The people there are very knowledgeable about there products.

They gave me one price for the estimate, then when installers came out they said " they mis-counted the windows and that it would be an additional $600" although I was there and counted with them as he counted them. In trying to resolve the issue they were very uncooperative. I finally reached an agreement, but still five windows do not latch properly.

EXCELLENT WORK, THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH ANYTHING. THEIR PRICE TO DO THE JOB WAS COMPARABLE TO OTHER PLACES THAT INSTALLED FLOORING IN THE KITCHEN.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I HAVE HEARD NO BAD STORIES. MOST OF THE MESS WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THEIR PRICE WAS WITHIN THE FREE QUOTE THAT THEY GAVE ME. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED QUICKLY AND WITHIN THE AGREED TIME FRAME.

THEY ARE TOP NOTCH. THEY CAME AND GAVE ME A FREE QUOTE, AND THEY STAYED WITHIN THEIR ESTIMATE. THEY GAVE ME A PROMPT RESPONSE ONCE I GOT A HOLD OF THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME. THEY GOT ALL THE WORK DONE IN THE AGREED TIME FRAME. THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS.
