JDL responded quickly, made a reasonable diagnosis and fixed the obvious problem with part replacement. The cost was high. The problem wasn't entirely fixed so JDL returned and thought there should be an additional charge for the return visit. They left after providing me with an estimate for total system replacement and I have asked for two other estimates to make sure we get this right.

My AC broke in the middle of the night and my home warranty service assigned us JDL HVAC Services. Joe and his team were prompt, professional, and explained everything clearly, every step of the way. Joe answered every question with patience and professionalism, never getting flustered. My system broke on a Monday and he had the entire system, AC and Furnace, replaced within 24 hours of the repair approval - Joe oversaw everything, even doing some cool sheet metal work on the spot - my new system is amazing! He and his entire team are focused on their customers. Trust is hard to come by, and Joe earned my trust immediately. I have used other, bigger firms to address or inspect AC and heating problems, but none were nearly as good as Joe and his team. I wholeheartedly recommend JDL HVAC without reservation for all of your HVAC needs. We are going to be customers for life!

The caller: At first it seemed liked the guy was pitching me a new unit before even seeing my broken one. Once I made it clear to him I was only looking to repair the one I had he didn’t push it further. I am not sure if this was a sales tactic or prepping me for possibly having to replace my unit. Either way it was unnecessary as I wanted the unit looked at before I even considered a replacement. The Techs: They were very quick to respond to our urgent request. Two gentlemen came out who were able to quickly diagnose that it was a leak, seal it and fill the unit back up with refrigerant. Both answered any questions I had and were always willing to teach - a quality you want for any service. The prices were broken down before they even performed the work. That level of transparency is much appreciated. Price: Can not speak too much on cost as this is the first repair ever needed to our unit. I don’t believe in giving out numbers because people need to make a living but I can give you a estimation. Looking at the cost breakdown, refrigerant and leak seal was about 4.5x above online prices for same materials. For rule of thumb, a different company who I hired earlier in the year to do a check-up on the unit tried to upsell me a capacitor for 18x the online price! So if that is any indication, once you factor in time tools it ended up being very fair pricing. Summary: If I did it all again, knowing what I know now, I’d hire them again, but probably buy the materials myself beforehand. Overall, a good experience. Thanks again.

"Awesome" doesn't begin to describe my project with JBL HVAC, from their response to my request to the delivery of their service. I got a call back two minutes from my web request. Joe showed up at the time we agreed on and was very methodical in his diagnosis of my A/C problem. He explained everything he did and why he was doing it in terms that I easily understood. It turned out my unit had simply reached its end of life. So I had to replace everything. The very next day, Joe and his crew were at my house and completely replaced my A/C system on schedule and on budget. I would definitely hire JBL HVAC again, and I cannot recommend them enough. Truly an outstanding business.

The owner agreed to send a technician out to our home on short notice on the 4th of July without raising his normal fee. The tech got here on time, and walked me through each troubleshooting step. This included showing me the before and after readings on his test instruments. The process took a bit over an hour, and our A/C is still going strong.

These guys are professionals, which I really appreciate. Not only did they show up at the times promised, but they were knowledgeable and serviced our HVAC while explaining each diagnosis, action, and potential problems. The owner Joe spent nearly an hour on the phone with me troubleshooting a problem before even sending his guys over--that was amazingly helpful and something I've never experienced across 7 homes I've owned in 15 years. This is a top-notch company, if you use them you can be sure you're getting the best service.

The newest saga really helps put things in perspective. Joe contacted me and thoroughly explained his processes. It made sense and I think excellent communication goes a long way in making these kinds of major repairs easier to accept. Thanks Joe. They came out as promised and the tech was professional and courteous and helpful. I didn't really have time to shop prices and there was confusion about the $89 fee just for coming out for the estimate. My understanding was that this was to be included in the cost.
