It could not have been worse. Very untrustworthy company and shoddy way of doing business. I am suspect of any company that does not have at least and answering service.
Description of Work: The representative interrupted my dinner and set up an appointment for Sunday at 4pm. they called the next day and asked if I could change to 11am and I agreed. they never showed up and never called. Also they have no answering service at the numbers provided. This is by far the worst experience that I've had with a company, and if you read the other reports, you will note that this is common to their way of doing business. this company is not to be trusted.

Homefix sent a young gentleman to bang on my door at dinnertime to propose giving an estimate for doing home repair. I asked them to set up an appointment. After taking my time to meet with these people and going through the estimating process for siding and roofing (which would include gutters), I never heard back from them. It was a total waste of my time and very unprofessional. I even followed up with their headquarters to see what was happening, and they had no answer, but said they'd give my message to the person who performed the estimating call. Again, nothing happened. A person did follow up weeks later and seemed totally embarrassed by what had happened and mentioned she was going to report this to their supervisor. I awarded the job to another company.

I think this one speaks for it self. We were wrong in this case and i am sorry for it. We have hundereds of thousands of customers and while most of them our happy some people are not. Althogh this is not a customer of ours we want to make all people happy. My one defence is that not a single one of the complaints on this website are anyone that actually worked with us. Those peolple all gave us A ratings. Again i appoligize for the lack of follow up.

We met with a salesperson, Adam, who told us he was the Sales Manager, responsible for finding Sample or Model homes in a community, giving those people a deal, and then putting a team to work marketing the company's work. He told us we would be asked to put a sign in our yard, and then answer people's questions, if need be. He discussed being Master Elite Roofing Contractors, certified by GAF ELK. We were told that if we signed that day, we could get the model home price, which was 4-5,000 less than what we would get otherwise. We had some reservations about the Model Home program, but signed. Materials were delivered, which did not look right to me (from the labels), but I did not want to open them. Once the team was here, the day of installation, they opened a set and I realized that the wrong materials had been delivered to our house. They did correct the error, but I was not pleased that they almost started putting the wrong shingles on our house. Further, there was a language barrier. None of the crew spoke English very well. (I have doubts that this team trained with GAF ELK, but the work does seem to be solid.) Because of the delay in materials, the team started the attaching process late and had to quit because of night. they told me they were done, but an inspection the next day showed otherwise. Several areas had to be fixed/completed. They were small, and the roof was protected from rain, but I was nonetheless not very happy with this. We were told that our roof would be inspected at some point, by officials from GAF ELK. We never saw these officials, and I doubt it was inspected. Nor did the company ever place a sign in our yard. It may have been due to the problems that they abandoned us as a model home, but I am not sure that program really exists... so my top advice would be if you are getting multiple estimates, get this company's estimate last. They do try to pressure you to sign the day they come out, but that being said, I feel like we got a good deal, despite having to watch the process like a hawk (wrong materials delivered, job not completed, etc.). Overall, would recommend them, with reservations and caution. Can be a good deal, but go in with your eyes open.
Description of Work: Homefix team came out and removed old roof, putting down dropclothes, removing materials, inspected roof for damaged boards, made one or two small changes to the wood, and the put down the new roof, including a ridge vent.

I'm afraid I wouldn't use this company even if my life depended on it. I had multiple quotes for Windows and for Siding... Their quote for windows came out to be THREE times the other quotes I had performed. I ended up going with the middle-tier company (who I am extraordinarily happy with), not the cheapest, certainly not the most expensive. HomeFix was all about calling, calling, calling, just to bug me until I finally broke down and allowed them to come out and do an estimate. What a mistake. The guy shows up, I tell him immediately that my wife will NOT be joining us for the discussion (she was 8 months pregnant at the time and wasn't feeling well). A note to husbands: if a company insists on including your wife in the discussion, even after you've told them no three times, kick the salesman out. ) After a 2 hour sales pitch in which I literally watched the salesman just do a quick calculation after asking me (for the 2nd time) how many windows and approximately how big they were. Then he gives me the 'if we put our sign up in your yard for a month you get a 20% discount" and THEN I get the price. I almost fell out of my seat! $13,000 for 10 windows! I almost had to throw him out of the house - he simply would not leave! I told him under no circumstances would we be purchasing anything from HomeFix now or even in the future, and I STILL had to almost bodily force him out the door. Persistence is one thing; this was harassment! To be fair to the company, they did actually phone me later to specifically ask about this salesman, as apparently there had been complaints. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just a bad employee... I have not allowed anyone else come out to the house but I have had calls (almost twice a week!) asking me if I 'needed' anything(!?) Very unprofessional, in my opinion.

They have been pretty persistence over the years. I think it was originally a group called Home Solutions that the guy called from and then all of a sudden it was Homefix but I am not sure. He wasn't your ordinary salesman. He said that he was the director of something. I've had interactions with these sorts of people before. I couldn't get the rock bottom quote unless I signed below the dotted line. I had a guy that came out and walked around and gave me a quote, which is what I prefer. It was sort of a hard sell. The guy was really likeable. I might use them in the future; I am not sure.

My husband could not be there at the same time so they did not want to do the estimate. I figured that they could not do the hard sell. I dislike the feeling that I was going to get a hard sell. We called three establishments (all 3 were 2009 "honors" from Angie's) to receive quotes. We asked all three to divide the quote into 3 parts (as noted above) as we were not sure if we wanted to do all three jobs at this time. Homefix was the only one which did as we asked. As it was competitive with the other two, we went with Homefix. The Homefix representative, Robert Alvarez, worked with us on the proper coloring for the fascia replacement and vinyl and had some good suggestions which we decided to incorporate. We informed Robert that we needed for all of this to be approved by our HOA. He totally understood and made sure we had what we needed to send to the HOA. He arranged that we meet w/ the contractors beforehand so that they knew what we needed. It took about two weeks for the HOA to approve. Robert made sure that the workers were synchronized such that the fascia/vinyl were accomplished on one long day and the gutter person came in the next business day. The place looks terrific! I highly recommend going with Homefix. Robert was wonderful to work with and quickly addressed any concerns we had

Homefix first sent some boys around the neighborhood see if we would like a quote for roofing. We agreed to an appt. on a day and the person showed up on time. He had samples and a whole bunch of material about how good homefix was. I listened to his pitch, which came out to about $10,000 for the new roof, but, he would do the work for ~$4,000 if we would sign a contract now and we would allow him to put up a sign in our front yard while he did the work. That was my first red flag. I told him that I wouldn't agree to anything till I had other estimates. I was pretty much done, but he told me that he needed to hear my wife's opinion before he would leave as it was a joint decision. She was taking care of the kids while I listened to him, but I went ahead and traded duties with her just to get him to leave. He then went through the whole spiel again with her. She, of course, said no when he started getting pushy to sign right away as well. Finally, after saying no multiple times and firmly telling him that we weren't interested in doing anything right now. He left complaining that his method usually works to get the first customer and that the deal would go away once he got someone else in the neighborhood to agree. No one did and we've never seen him again. The whole company seems like a scam. Stay away.

The work was done quickly and professionally. The material was high quality. Be certain to get replacement guarantees on all work, and inspect the house frequently for siding falling off. Overall, this was less than pleasant. particularly the poor follow-up and service response. I would be hard pressed to work with them again.
Description of Work: Purchased high end siding on townhouse. The quality of the materials is excellent but the work was less than perfect. Some siding blew off on the top section of the house in 1 year. Fortunately, we purchased the top of the line siding which includes free replacement, but took them weeks to make the repairs. They finally came after repeated complaints. I asked for an estimate on the roof during their last visit. This was more than 1 month ago and I have yet to hear from them.

I hope that the windows are good, however I have not spent a winter with them so I do not truly know that quality. The wait time from when the windows were ordered and the time that they arrived was exactly what they estimated. They were made to the precise measurements of the window and they were made to my specifications. The sales man told me that I was getting a high end product. When the windows were ready they scheduled the installation. They suggested a time that would work for them and tweaked the appointment to my schedule. When the team came out to do the installation they were very methodical about inspecting the house, sizing up where they would start, and figuring out where to start. Once they figured that out they swept right through removing the old windows and installing the new ones. They finished the windows off with a little bit of cladding. They got here a bit wait which meant it would be a very long day and they were in a real hurry to leave at the end of the day. Which meant that the closing information was very rushed and made me uncomfortable. He did not give me any literature about how to protect or care for my windows, although he surprised me by saying never use window cleaner and so forth. I was a little dissatisfied with the way that the appointment ended, however in terms of their work, installing the windows, and being neat, tidy and respectful of the house they were very good. They offer financing, which they had to shop for and get arranged, and they were really rather bizarre about all of it. They took a long time and made me quite uncomfortable, because they did not finalize the financing until after the windows were installed. After they finalized the financing portion and signed the papers we were supposed to receive our copy of the paperwork. It took quite a while to get the paperwork and within a week of receiving it the company sent us a letter saying that they sold our loan to another institution. Fortunately the terms had not changed, however it was very unsettling. They sold us the windows and they were responsive about the installation. After the windows were installed I called and asked them to send me information about doors. I have asked four times since May and they have not sent me any information at all.

We were incredibly impressed with Homefix Corporation. Scott Gramm was our sales rep and he was polite, professional and very informative. He told us about all the benefits new siding would provide. Our main concern was insulation and he said our energy costs would drop drastically. Sure enough, this summer our bills have been lower than ever (and we moved into the house years ago, before everything became so expensive!) We had almost no questions up front because of how thorough he was in describing the siding we would be getting. Afterward we did have some questions about financing though, and he was very prompt with getting back to us, which we've had problems with in the past. I must say, the installers were most impressing. They didn't mess up any of my wife's flower beds and cleaned up all debris left from the old siding. The lead installer was very nice, his workers were diligent, and they were finished before I knew it! Shortly after our install we got a package in the mail from Homefix. It included our tax letter so that we could get the stimulus dollars, a thank you letter from the Vice President, and a self addressed envelope for us to send them referrals and a letter of recommendation. I have family in Maryland that were interested in using Homefix and they gave me $200 for each person I referred. You better believe we are writing a glowing letter of recommendation for that kind of service!

We've used Homefix Corporation in the past for our siding and they did just as an amazing job this time as they did last time! Scott came back out and showed us the different roofing options we had. They all came with a lifetime warranty and my wife was just more concerned with the colors. We finally decided on the type we wanted and the guys were out the very next week putting our roof on. It was a different crew with a different team leader, but they were just as good as the siding guys.

We love our tinted, double-paned picture windows from Homefix! My elderly parents live with me, and they so much enjoy being able to watch the birds at our feeders without the obstructions of the old frames. Our house stays cooler during these hot summer days, and no more wind whistling through the cracks in the old, warped wood! Your installers were polite, efficient and cleaned up completely after they finished. We're more than satisfied with our buying experience; in fact, we're proud to display your Homefix sign in our front yard. We're delighted to be such a positive example of your workmanship. We'll be back next year to replace the rest of the windows in our upper and lower floors!

Just wanted to let everyone know how pleased we are with our new windows. We live on a very busy street. All day and all night you hear traffic, car stereos, with our new windows we ntoiced that its much quieter now. The windows look great. The installers did a fantastic job. In just a few hours our 9 windows were installed with NO mess at all. We're very proud of how nice our house looks with the new windows. We have thought of getting new windows in the past but just dreaded what it might entain and the mess we would be left with. Thanks to a young salesman named Pedro knocking at our door one evening and talking to my husband and I and assuring us that we would be totally satisfied, I'm not sure we would have new windows today. Thanks Pedro, you were right!

When we decided to buy windows, we had no idea what was available. We went to Anderson window showroom offering a discount coupon. We sat down with a representative who told us about the various levels of windows available. We asked for an estimate, and had to arrange a home visit for the company representative to see what we would require. During this period HomeFix was doing some work in our area. A company member stopped by and asked if we would be interested in hearing about window replacement options. We indicated we would like to do so and Mr. Nick Roberts arranged to come see us. So what did we like about our HomeFix Corporation experience? First, Mr. Roberts came to our house with several different window type models/visual aids. He proceeded to explain completely the differences in windows and what we could expect to gain going from one level of window to the next. He also had a heat lamp demonstration that was excellent in illustrating the insulation capability of a given window. Mr. Roberts took the time to understand what we were interested in, what we wanted to replace, and the objectives we had in replacing our windows. After touring our house and dtermining the number of windows to be replaced, he provided an estimate immediately. As we were still wiating on a final response from the Anderson dealer, we were not ready to commit to HomeFix at that time. Rather than pressure us, Mr. Roberts instead offered us a low price guarantee, promising to beat the Anderson dealer price by at least 10% for comparable quality windows (i.e., those qualifying for the energy tax credit). Needless to say, as the Homefix price was well below the Anderson dealer estimate, the guarantee was not needed. After we chose HomeFix to replace our windows, Mr. Roberts then helped us with payment arrangements. Although we planned to pay cash, he recommended a payment plan approach. If we paid cash, we would have to basically pay up front in order for the company to order our windows. A payment plan would allow the company to proceed with our order without us expending funds. In addition, as payment would not be required until we signed the paperwork after window installation, we could ensure we were completely happy with all aspects of our transaction before expending any cash. And of course, we could completely pay off the installation cost without penalty. A company representative arrived in short order to measure our windows and a date was subsequently scheduled for installation. Installation took a little over a day. Cleanup was well done, with very little left over for me to complete. Obviously it is not possible to do this type of endeavor without some residual tasks but i was very pleasantly surprised how well it went. There were essentially no problems, and a couple of minor observation noted on the company survey form resulted in a personal telephone call from the Vice President Adam Shampaine to follow up.

I am so pleased with Homefix. They reroofed my home, replaced my windows with new vinyl, energy-efficient windows, and replaced my front door. I have had work done on my home by other companies in the past, and have never been as happy with the service and quality as I was with Homefix. The work was done on schedule, and the workers left absolutely no mess of any kind. They were very careful not to damage flower beds outside, and were equally careful of all my furnishings inside. I could not be more pleased with the quality of service and product. I would definitely use Homefix again for any home repair/replacement needs. Finally, all sales/marketing employees, as well as the workers who conducted the installation, were extremely personable, competent and professional. They have a great team and I would recoommend them with no hesitation!

A very nice gentleman came by our home last fall and noticed that we had wooden windows. We had been thinking about getting them replaced and also adding a custom bay window in the front of our home similar to a neighbor's home. Nick Roberts came and showed us all the different types of windows we could get and talked to us about our options. We ended up picking out doors as well. Our homeowners association is very picky (can be a real pain sometimes) and Homefix helped us out every step of the way, from sending brochures directly to the board members to driving color samples out to the director so she could match them against HOA permitted colors. Some of the board members said they were very impressed with the professionalism of the company and are considering getting work by them as well! I highly suggest using them for windows, we will probably get our siding and roofing done in the next few years.
Description of Work: Installed new windows and doors in our home.

After cold-calling us to make an appointment, company failed to show for its first scheduled visit. That's never a good sign. Later someone told us that they don't come out unless both husband and wife are available. The reasons for this became painfully obvious when they did finally show up. For nearly 2 hours we were exposed to the singularly most aggressive sales call we have had to endure while remodeling our home for the last year (and we have dealt with over two dozen contractors in a variety of fields.) The sales guy pulled out every weak trick one could imagine -- he told us we had been selected because our house was in a prime location to use as a model home; we were being given a fantastic deal on which his company would never see a penny of profit; we could never disclose the fabulous price we were getting; etc. The sales guy even wrote up his estimate, folded it in half, and then made us sit through a write-up of a second MSRP sales estimate before passing us the folded estimate like it was the winning ticket of a lottery. THEN he knocked another 5k from that second estimate like we had matched the bonus number. It was insulting from start to finish. I don't begrudge the occasional attempt to misdirect in order to get a leg up on the competition -- it is a dog-eat-dog world for contractors -- but this was beyond the pale. Additionally, the high-pressure treatment involved demanding a signed contract on the spot, because as this young man told us (using our first names the entire time) "I came out in person this time, but I don't ever come out a second time." Well, all I can say is thank heavens for that. And the kicker? This great, once in a lifetime, completely unsolicited deal, was nearly 50% higher than the nearest competitor's price for the same service. I am aware that window manufacturers operate almost like mattress manufacturers, creating endlessly varied models to prevent accurate price comparison shopping, but regardless, these guys weren't even in the ballpark. Heck, they weren't even in the same county as any other contractor (all of whom are A listed contractors from Angie's list). Bottom line; I would never recommend this company for any service.
Description of Work: Estimate for replacing 10 windows, replacement of a door and window combination with a sliding glass door, and wrapping exterior trim (fascia, soffitts, rakes, etc.) with PVC trim.
