They didn't use caulk, adhesive or do any flashing. They had no tools or materials and had to use my own. They sent workers who didn?t speak English. They do not use safety equipment, including no helmets. They advised in the beginning they would take $500 off the total bill if I gave them a positive review on Angie's List, which was on their contract. The representative, Keith Sinnott, that came to my house, acknowledged that they did the work wrong. When I called them to demand my money back, they called the police and said I was threatening them. In the end I am going to have to pay additional money to have the damage they caused corrected. Update: We want to update this review w/ more specifics of how HomeFix did not perform to manufacturer's instructions which is against code. they did not prime field cuts, they did not use exterior grade caulk, they did not use exterior grade nails. They did not bring equipment necessary to do the job and had to have Client use his own equipment. For the interior, specified material was not used.

I had an overall positive experience with Homefix out of Fairfax. They recently installed siding on my townhouse. I received the same sales pitch experience as the other reviewers. It would have been refreshing to forego some of the spiel, but I truly enjoyed the energetic and friendly representative, Chris. As a consumer, be prepared to discuss and document on the agreement, what you agree to be covered under ?everything included?. After negotiating the price that I deemed fair for a quality job, an outstanding installation is what I received. Chris was exceptionally responsive with pre installation emails and then follow-up calls. Two pre-surveys were done to check color and scope of work. Installation was done 4 weeks later with a couple days delay due to shipment failure. The project supervisor kept me informed with phone calls, and the installation team did a superb quality job. The townhouse has many inside and outside corners, facing sides from the neighbors, a chimney, eight windows, 3 doors, a deck to work around, plus all the fixtures. The supervisor helped me add 2 outside outlets, remounted all fixtures and hung new shutters. Everything was trimmed out beautifully all the way up to new metal trim around the top of the chimney. All details were cared for, and clean-up was better than I thought it would be for a team of workmen. Also, the sun beats down on the back of my home, and the inside temperature is definitely cooler with the new insulation in place. I can?t stand shoddy work, mishaps or aggravation and was very pleased with Homefix's performance. I highly recommend Homefix to homeowners, like myself, who are prepared to handle the sales pitch, and who want the peace of mind that comes with better materials and workmanship at a fair price.

From beginning to end we had a great experience with Homefix. The sales rep that came to our home was very knowledgeable and he gave us some good recommendations on how to better insulate our home and make our Florida room a space we can enjoy year round. We really appreciated the time he spent with us going over our options. We were given a great price (and I checked around) and also very high quality windows. They came with a lifetime warranty that is fully transferable whenever we sell the house. The warranty includes parts and labor...that's rare to find. The workers showed up promptly for both our insulation and our window installation. All work was done same day and they cleaned up everything when the jobs were done. We are so happy to cut down on some of our energy costs and love that we are able to enjoy our Florida room even during this hot weather outside. We plan to use Homefix again for our roof soon. We would highly recommend Homefix to anyone looking to do exterior home improvement projects.

We were approached by a Homefix representative going door to door in our neighborhood. We scheduled an estimate, and on the scheduled date, "manager" came by and gave us a hard sell. That's okay; we are used to it. The trick is to hold your ground. Have a price in mind and don't budge. Anyway, we signed a contract and a few weeks later, we got nice new windows. We really like the transferable lifetime warranty.

Wow! Wow! Did I fail to mention Wow? The installers arrived on time, early morning and were finished by 1:30 pm. They replaced the front door (including storm door) and the kitchen sliding glass door. All the framing was replaced with new sturdy material. Everything was capped with new vinyl protection and caulked thoroughly. The workmanship was truly professional. I could not believe how excited I am about how the job turned out and how beautiful both my doorways look. People passing by stop to stare at how pretty my house looks, now. It was really worth the price.

The representative was very knowledgeable. He offered something that's economical and within our price range.

Other than one window which came defective from the factory everything else was pretty much perfect and met all my expectations and demands.

Almost never engage walk-up canvassers, but I did with HomeFix because I wanted to collect some estimates. Although aspects of the "pitch" were somewhat pushy and salesy, the individual had been with them a long time and did know his stuff. Negotiate hard...it's worth it, and saved me a lot. HomeFix's pitch is that they cost a bit more, but they are worth it. Overall, I would actually agree with that assesment. They were extremely professional throughout the process. Called ahead to confirm schedule. Should up on-time/early. Had a big crew working constatly on a complex roof structure. Ran into a lot of surprises underneath the old shingles, which I actually expected. Worked with the foreman and the owner on a resonable upcharge for the things they could not have known about. Walked around on the roof with the foreman, so that we could collaborate and talk about options. Owner/Manager checked in repeatedly to make sure I was OK with the work, and with any changes we were making. They left my decks and yard cleaner than when they had arrived...very professional throughout.

We initially met with Homefix to get a quote on replacing the windows in our home. Once we met with them we went forward with replacing the third floor windows in our home. Since we live in a townhome there is a lot of challenges with the homeowner's association and Homefix was very accommodating in proviiding different color swatches to find the one that would meet the approval of the board. The installation and the outcome went really well and the windows look great. After this was completed we decided to go back to HomeFix to have the rest of the windows done and everything looks great. I never realized how bad and old our windows were until the new ones were installed. The next step was to have our front entryway door and storm door replaced. Based on how our entryway is framed there were a few challenges and again Homefix was able to perform and do what was needed to install a great looking door. We are still waiting for the storm door, but that is due to the quality that Homefix is expecting from its vendors. The storm door needs to be custom painted to meet the requirements of our homeowner's association and based on what has been delivered to Homefix they are not accepting what is being provided. That shows the quality that they are also expecting and not just going to install anything to get the job done. All the sales representatives and the installers have been very cordial and friendly. I would definitely recommend them for any job.

Over all, I'm happy with the windows. The patio doors, not so at this time, I'm still waiting for them to be installed. They came out to install and brought the wrong color trim. You would think they know what color trim to bring, since they already installed the windows, AND they sent a person out to do measurements.

Hi all, I want to recommend HOMEFIX CORP. to do any job in your house. They have a professional staff they came to my house to put my new WINDOWS and they work very quite and fast but with quality and the more important they are clean and professional . I am very happy with the work they do it with my windows al my friends can see the different with it. They do excellent job. I am 100% satisficed with HOMEFIX. :) AN D I WILL WORK WITH THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. My only complaint, well it's not a complaint really, is that, Homefix should do a better job getting all the materials needed before they show up, and not have to reschedule appointments because they show up with the wrong stuff. Get the trim color right, make sure you have enough. Isn't that why you sent a person out to do measurements? So my advice, when they come out to do measurements, make sure the person gets everything right on the work order. Don't assume they know what they are doing. It seems logical that if you order windows and have them installed, then later order patio doors, that they magically know what color your trims are. Called me after the fact and told me they had to special order the trim, since that is what they had to do when they installed the windows, so they needed to reschedule. I told them, if you already knew this, then why did you come to do the installation with the wrong color, its in your system what color my trims are, its the little things that count? Logic doesn't always work.

The roofing project was hampered by our schedule and the weather. However, Homefix worked with us and the job was completed. We are extremely happy with the roof and glad to see a very problematic area of our roof was fixed as well. We will definitely use Homefix in the future.

A representative came to the door and I made an appointment for a salesmen to come and give me an estimate.I felt I was quoted a good price for the job and and signed a contract. They were very prompt in coming and completing the job. The crew who came were very professional and respectful of my property. When I had some concerns, Jon Morse took care of me personally and resolved the matter very quickly. I would recommend Homefix very highly and would do business with them again.

Homefix found me by sending somebody door to door. The date was rescheduled a couple of times for the estimate. They wanted my wife to be home during the estimate which for me was a red flag that I would be pushed into try to sign a contract. The delays were related to getting a date that both myself and my wife were available so I can't blame Homefix for that. When Stefan came, he was dressed in a suite. Not what I was expecting since I thought that the person giving my estimate would be going on the roof. He took measurements from the ground of my Kitchen Bumpout to build the estimate. There was at least a 45 minute presentation on Homefix which both my wife and myself thought was overkill. I appreciate that Stefan took the time to explain everything to us. He was very kind. Our only problem happened at the end. We thought he was writing us an estimate but instead it was a contract. When I told him we only wanted an estimate and wouldn't sign a contract until after we at least got one other estimate we could tell he got frustrated. All of the sudden the special deal he was giving us went up from about $1,500 to $3,000 for not signing that day. My wife and myself both felt very uncomfortable with the end of this estimate. The next day Stefan called me and told me the price would go up 10% from the initial estimate of $1,500 if I was still interested. I ended up getting two different estimates from Angies List companies with A ratings. The company I went with was Marshall roofing who has been in business since 1980. You can see my excellent review for them there. The person that came to do the estimate from Marshall actually went up on the roof. Stefan had told me that I should NOT replace the Skylight and just reflash around it. His initial estimate for about $1,500 was to reflash and roof around the existing skylight. Marshall Roofing and the other company I had got an estimate from both said it would be crazy to do the roofing work and keep the existing 25 year old non energy efficient skylight. Also, the Marshall Roofing estimate to do the work included an energy efficient skylight (46 inch by 46 inch) which was the same $1,500 price that Stefan wanted to charge if we signed that day and his estimate didn't come with a new skylight. For a price difference like that, of course I didn't choose Homefix. (My third estimate also included a new skylight and the price was similar to Marshall Roofing) Overall, I can't say not to use Homefix. They have been incorporated for a long time and have great warranties. All I can say is be aware that you will be pushed into signing a contract that day. Make sure you get your estimates from other people BEFORE Homefix so IF you do choose to go with them you can get their low price and sign the contract that day. From what I saw with their estimate, they will lead you to believe the price they are offering you is outstanding however there may be better prices out there. By the way, Marshall Roofing performed all of the work and matched their estimate price. I gave them an A rating for their work.

Their products look very good, and nice. Their service was pretty good and the front door came out exceptional, very easy lock to use! The roof looks good and was done very fast (less than one day). I would recommend them to all who needs a new door, windows and roof since we are happy with ours!

I believe the conversation could have been more frank from the owner. I was told about a service that includes replacing the roof. and I was rest assured that all the top quality items would be used, and all the old material will be replaced. Now, when the replacement was going on, I stopped by, and I didn't see a lot of throwaway decking (the wood that goes on top of the roof), and I asked, are you replacing that as well? I was told Yes, Yes. After the replacement, I saw 2 big bumps on the roof that I can clearly see while driving by, I asked about it, and the owner didn't have a clue, all he keep saying was, I have a lifetime warranty and he kept asking "Can I charge your credit card for the rest?". It took more than 2 weeks for provide details of why there were bumps on the roof, eventually they fixed it. After that, I asked the same question, did you change the decking?, I didnt get a clear answer, at one point, I felt like he hung up when I asked the same question. Now, in the end, I was told, the decking was not changed. And I was also told that no company on the planet would change the decking for that money. I talked to Lowes and they confirmed that infact there are diff prices for with decking and without decking, but I absolutely felt that I was intentionally kept in dark or not told the correct answer by this company. And of course, when I asked, I was told, "I should have read my contract". I will recommend everyone to double check the contract and get things in writing before dealing with this company again.

The workmanship was good. It only took them one day and they cleaned up. I like everything about them. They even had a payment plan that worked for me.

HomeFix Corporation of Baltimore did a good job. People were very pushy and they followed up with an in-home visit and estimate. The person was very nice but they try to get you to commit right away. We did get a good price. The roof was done on time and they cleaned up afterwards. In the end we were happy with it but they were a little bit schemey. The workers were all very polite and did a great job on the work.

It is not often that a company goes "above and beyond" what is called for. But this is what Adam Shampaine and Homefix did for us and we are very grateful. As I mentioned above, they replaced our roof. We have a large house and they completed the job in two days and they cleaned up extremely well. Initially, there were some difficulties that were created by a subcontractor but when I contacted Adam and explained what had happened, he took care of the problem immediately. No hastles, no difficulties. He sent his own workers to our home and took care of the problem immediately. He also covered the expense of having this work done. In my experience, it is not often that I find a company like Homefix and/or a person like Adam to do business with. It was really a pleasure to work with him. His kindness and understanding is outstanding and my wife and I couldn't say enough positive things about our experience of working with Homefix. As I mentioned above, they replaced our roof. We have a large house and they completed the job in two days and they cleaned up extremely well. Initially, there were some difficulties that were created by a subcontractor but when I contacted Adam and explained what had happened, he took care of the problem immediately. No hassles, no difficulties. He sent his own workers to our home and took care of the problem immediately. He also covered the expense of having this work done. In my experience, it is not often that I find a company like Homefix and/or a person like Adam to do business with. It was really a pleasure to work with him. His kindness and understanding is outstanding and my wife and I couldn't say enough positive things about our experience of working with Homefix. Rain initially delayed the installation, but on second scheduled appointment, quick, reliable and excellent service.

I want people to be aware of the pricing because they tacked on that additional large amount our of no where. The marketing director was pleasant, but the VP had a bad attitude and was slightly agressive.
