The meeting ran about two hours. We received a verbal estimate--about $6000 plus--which seemed very high. An estimate received earlier in the week was $3500 and the third estimate we received was $4000 from another Angie's List provider. We were especially put off by the charge of $103.00 for each additional sheet of wood under the roof we might need to have replaced but the guarantees that seem to be a part of the package were appealing. We even discussed the possibility of Homefix replacing a small section of siding and insulating our attic. Once the figures were drawn up, I offered to make a copy of the estimate but Mr. Sanders insisted that he submit the information to us my email. We never received the estimate. I sent an email reminder to Homefix about the estimate. Surprisingly after all the calls to set up a meeting, Homefix NEVER FOLLOWED UP WITH A WRITTEN ESTIMATE.

A representative from Homefix came to my door and said they would be giving free estimates on replacement windows. I am actually in the market for new windows and have already gotten one estimate but need a few more before making my decision. I accepted the offer and set a date and time. The company called the night before to confirm. They called again about 2 hours before the appointment, for which I had taken off early from work to attend. The representative said he just wanted to confirm that both my husband and I would attend. I said "No, my husband will not be here. But I am the homeowner and I am responsible for all the repairs." WOULD YOU BELIEVE THE GUY WOULD NOT MEET WITH ME WITHOUT MY HUSBAND!!!!! Come on, this is the 21st century! I just had our fence and patio replaced, all the trees removed and the garden landscaped, and the bathroom remodeled BY MYSELF. I planned it, I got the estimates, I signed the contracts, and I paid for it. I am the homeowner so the fact that I am a woman should not be a factor. Good lord, I am a highly educated woman with a higher salary than most men...and yet I need my husband to guide me?! What a sexist policy. I will never use Homefix and I will advise others not to as well. I will update this at a later date to say which company I did end up using for window replacement.

Five people came out to do the work site project manager came out to help with a picture window. We had a couple of complaints which was takin care of right away. When it was all said and done it took two days total they did a good job and left the area clean. Their product is amazing a good energy rating and we have noticed the difference. The first team made some mistakes but the second team fixed it. They were receptive to what we wanted.

I was a little worried when the sales guy said it would be up to six weeks before they could schedule the installation, but they ended up calling me in about two days (I think the 6 weeks figure is really for windows). The installers were polite and professional, they put down plastic on the floor all the way from the front door, upstairs and into the closet with the attic access. When they were done they let me climb the ladder and look around to see an even (and very deep!) blanket of insulation, and vacuumed up the few bits that had escaped. I could tell a difference the first day, in that I no longer had a temperature differential of about 10 degrees between my upper and lower floors. The experience was entirely positive, and I would consider using them again.

I learned of this company after a representative knocked on my door promoting their services. He was a good salesman and we discussed roofing replacement. I told him I had a number of quotes already in hand and was narrowing it down very soon and he convinced me to get yet another estimate. I agreed to a future appointment and he indicated that they would want to meet with both my wife and I He then called someone at their office to confirm address, and this gentleman also mentioned having my wife present. I mentioned that my wife would not be there as she does not need to be a part of this process. The day of the planned visit, a rep called me 2 more times that day to verify appointment and address. and the last call the afternoon of the appointment the gentleman mentioned having my wife present, and I told them again that no, my wife will not be available. He immediately wanted to reschedule when she would be available. I told him again that no, my wife will not be participating. He seemed to be a little put off by this and cancelled the appointment. I do not want to deal with a company that requires both spouses to be present, as I know the sales focus would be to play one spouse off the other in order to make the sale, similar to vacation property sales pitches. Of all the previous roofing and other estimates I have obtained, this was a first encounter of these sort of tactics. Unfortunately I will never know how this company would have performed. 1/10/15 update: I rec'd a cold call to day from the company again trying to sell me a roof and again they insisted on setting up an appointment with me and my spouse which I then informed her I had a bad experience and would not be interested. and the gal on the phone went as far to state that "it is now the law that all homeowners need to be present' and I would have to do this with any home improvement estimate I would need to get. She could not back this up with any additional information and I told her I did not believe any of this. In the response from this company from my initial post it was not mentioned of any spouse requirement, just that is was preferred to have them present.

I just can not say enough about Homefix. From the guy who knocked on my door to the no pressure estimate all the way through the amazing follow up afterward. I literally cried when there were don't because the work and the workers were so amazing. A person knocked on my door and they were doing windows in the next neighborhood over, I was no in the market although I needed the work. I scheduled and estimate and the salesman Graham was fantastic. He took me through all the options and left it up to me. They seemed to be higher priced but I realize that for the quality I got a great and fair offer. The work was 10 times better than I thought. The new sliding glass door they completely gutted the opening and re trimmed everything so it looks and fits amazing, it literally changes my house and my kitchen temperature is better already. For the gutters they added a down spout and the drain so much better. They cleaned up well and they put mats on the floor. The installers asked questions and guided me through the whole process. I forgot to take my blinds down and even though they told me they do not remove the blinds they were so kind to do it for me. Even the follow up after was perfect. I encourage anyone to come by my address and see the door and gutters. The shutters trim and front door go in next month, i will write another review then!!! Thank you Homefix, i will refer everyone.

after a rocky start everything was finished today and done well (poor installer had a cat in his window and face the entire time). I would recommend them to anyone.

They were excellent. The roof itself was done great. They came back and did repairs. They were very prompt coming back. Normally trying to get somebody back when something is wrong is really a pain. They sent back the same guys who had done the work plus a supervisor with them. It cost me way more money than it should have. They were very nice and accommodating.

Snowed during installation. Came back promptly to repaint water stain on ceiling.

Very professional, quick, experience went as promised. Good customer service.

The roofers themselves were very professional and did a good job. The young man who sold me the package was a nice fellow, but for some reason I admit that I felt uneasy signing the contract. My issue was that the workmen were at my house without the salesman, and that made me uncomfortable. Plus, the salesman had promised he would fix a vent for me at no additional cost, but he forgot to put that in the work order, so it didn't get fixed. He later called and made a deal with me, in that he would not charge me for rotted wood that they found, if I would forget the vent, and I said ok. He also said that he was going to use my house as a "show house" which was how Homefix kept costs down for advertising, but they have never put a sign in my yard, so I don't know if that is true or not. I ultimately like the product, but I would go with someone else in the future. I just felt uneasy a lot of the time during the transactions.

Before saying anything, the estimator requested a glass of water...that just seemed a little strange to me. He then started his discussion by promising he was not there to sell me anything, but provide me with the information and tools I need to make an informed decision down the line. Once he provided me with an estimate, and I told him I wanted some time to think about it and gather more information, he refused to take no for an answer. Once he finally realized I was not budging, he left the house visibly angry. Definitely not the way to earn my business...

They came over and provided us a quote for the service. A week later, they came to measure. Two weeks after that, they came to perform the work. It was done quickly and it looks nice.

The provider came to give me an estimate which was about 3 times the amount of the other estimates I had received. He was visibly upset when I did not except his offer on the spot. I told him that I was waiting for other estimates and he said that I was making a big mistake. He gathered all the documents, including the estimate and left me with no paperwork.

Homefix is a well organized company with the customer us always in mind. >Mr. Kerr presented what the company can do for us, not what he wanted to do. He was very professional and knew the inside and out side of roofing business. There was no pressure to agreed to anything. He let us think about before we made a decision which took awhile but he didn't care. We have received other estimates but Homefix was the company we wanted to do the job. The work crew showed up on time as promised. The site bosses Douglas and David were very knowledgeable and hard working guys as their crew was. They explained everything they were going to do before starting the job. Unfortunately for us the roofs plywood was a total loss.. They gave us a very surprising quote to replace the plywood on site after talking to Mr. Kerr. I would highly recommend Homefix to anyone looking for an honest contractor.

The crews were on time, worked very quietly, and were very clean.

If you want good siding, excellent workmanship, and a prompt response to your phone call, contact HomeFix Custom Remodeling in Baltimore and talk to Adam. Tell him I sent you. I would never recommend HomeFix of Gaithersburg. It is confusing as there are other companies by the name of ?HomeFix? that are reliable businesses. It is unfortunate the HomeFix of Gaithersburg gives them a bad name. A damaging wind storm on March 17, 2014, blew siding off the ridge of my home and broke a down spout. Since HomeFix Gaithersburg had installed my siding and lifetime warranteed it, I called HomeFix Gaithersburg. After leaving multiple messages, I was finally able to get through ? only to be told someone would get back to me in 12 to 48 hours. Today is April 5 ? no word from Home Fix Gaithersburg. I had to have another company ? HomeFix Custom Remodeling - come out and repair the damages. They did an excellent job, and recommended a general fix to the work that had been completed by Home Fix Gaithersburg. But for having another company repair the damages because Home Fix Gaithersburg would not honor its warranty, I had a similar experience when a storm damaged my house siding in March 2011. Home Fix Gaithersburg told me then that I would have to pay for the repairs ? again, even though it was warranteed. I had paid over $22,000 alone for the siding a year earlier ? in 2010.

The salesman came to the house and explained all options clearly. He took time to answer all our questions. The work was scheduled quickly. The installation team was punctual and friendly. They did their work quickly and thoroughly cleaned up. I would highly recommend HomeFix for roofing needs. We are also looking into having our windows replaced in the near future and would turn to HomeFix first.

My family lives in a townhouse community, and a representative of HomeFix Corporation was recently going door-to-door. While we don't normally answer the door for solicitors, I was out at the time, and my wife happened to answer the door. The rep said that HomeFix was doing exterior and insulation work in the neighborhood, and he gave my wife his card. I was interested in adding some attic insulation, so I called him and set up an appointment. He was prompt, and the meeting lasted for about an hour. While he could have shortened the presentation about the company a bit, he gave us a reasonable estimate for blown-in attic insulation and a discount contingent on us posting a review of the work here on Angie's List. He didn't try to oversell us on anything, such as buying more insulation than we needed, or for other services. He offered another significant discount if we put down a deposit right there, which we did. After the estimate meeting, it took almost two weeks for HomFix to call back to schedule a date for the work to be performed. So I ding the company a bit on responsiveness in this review. When they did schedule, they gave a standard 4-hour window for the crew to arrive. I was a bit concerned, but on the day of the job, the crew arrived at the beginning of the time window, so HomeFix gets an A for punctuality. I guess we were lucky that our house was their first job of the day. The two-person crew was very courteous and took measures to keep my home clean while they worked. They installed baffles, blown-in insulation, and insulation over the attic entryway door. They completed the job in under an hour. At the conclusion of their work, they gave me a flashlight and invited me to inspect the attic. I was very satisfied.

They came on the day they said they would, and they did the installation very quickly (three hours or so) without messing up the house. I am very happy with the windows. There is a HUGE difference between the builder-grade windows I had before and these. It noticeably warmer in the house, and much quieter. Overall, I am very happy and will probably use them to replace my roof when I have the money for it.

Everything went great! We really appreciated the promptness and attention to detail of the install crew. The windows all look great and we can already feel a big difference in the temperature and comfort in our living room. We would definitely use Homefix again for future projects. The sales process was very informative and all of our questions were answered. When we had questions during the wait process for the windows to be delivered we received very quick responses. Our only concern was a small gap in communication. We like to be "in the know" when we have projects done at the house (especially ones that are so expensive!) and we felt like we were the ones reaching out for information rather than the company contacting us with updates. Just knowing for sure when someone was going to call to schedule the measurement and an update after a few weeks on when the expected delivery date was going to be (6-8 weeks is a long time!) would have saved us some worry. Again, this company deserves an A+ and we are really loving our new windows!

They tried to make it $13,000 but I decided to use my credit card. I had enough in there to have it down to $7,101. I used the credit card instead. I was going to have them finance it but they tried to rip me off so I went on and used my credit card. It would have cost $13,058 for 9 of them and then when I did the math and checked with my Visa company, I had enough in there to pay it but I only had to come up with $7,101 with a 10.99 percentage rate. They were out of control. They had a marketing director come separate from the people who put the windows in. He was very good and the demonstration was very good. The workers knocked off something on my house from the outside. They had been running probably and they didn't want to put it back so the marketing director came out while they were putting the windows in and told them to go up to Home Depot and get the piece that fell off my house. It was a board that was used as a border. They went out and put the board back on. They were upset because they said they don't know who is going to pay for it, they said it's not going to be on them. The marketing director told them not to worry about it. He said he will make sure that they are going to be paid for it so I don't think I paid for it because they tried to charge me $958 a piece for each window and when he gave me the base price, I saw what they would charge. They had tagged on to the $7101 a little over $5,000. He couldn't tell me what that was for. It was going to be 15% of that added on. When I went to my Visa company, I had enough to pay the base price of $7,101. It didn't go well at all. I had made it clear to them and I had signed the contract, and then I made a call after they left and I found out that I could get it through my Visa company. The gentleman got a little upset because I think that was going to cut him out as the middle guy. I went directly to the base price he gave me and my Visa company paid for it. He called his boss and his boss started to talk to me. I told the guy to hang the phone because he was very ugly. He had been going around working for the neighbors. I think he just walked around in and asked me about windows so I let him do the demonstration on that the day of the appointment. It didn't go good and I think that he was reprimanded so he was very ugly. I just thought that $13,000 for 9 windows was ridiculous and I wanted to get them for $7,101 divided by 9 and it came up to be what it should have been. They charged me $1,000+ on each window and that was very high. It was my fault because I didn't do some research before I hired them. I didn't know they were on Angie's List. I did a little research on them after it was over with them and I knew that they were on your list. The price wasn't good. With regards to their responsiveness, they came when they were supposed to. I will absolutely not use them again. I have some moon-shaped scales on the front of the house and after the board fell, they tore down some of the material underneath it which was the moon-shaped thing on the scales. The marketing director said that he would come around and fix it and I think that was going to be something that I would pay him and not the company. He kept coming around but I paid 50% of the money first, wrote a check, and when he kept coming around, finally he said he couldn't find the scale. He came into the house at 7 in the morning and he was asking for the other half of the money. I don't think he has intentions of repairing what was extra besides the board that fell even though it tore the material on the front of the house when it fell. I think he just want to be sure that he was going to get paid because we had such a big disruption. After he got the check, I never ever saw him or heard from him again. I had to get another contractor to come and make the repairs.

They did a great job. I had a good experience with them. They had really good customer service. The CEO came out to the house. He was very flexible with appointments. He even had a Sunday appointment. They were quick to get the work done. I would say their prices were fair. I don't think they're cheap but I don't think they're the most expensive either.

Max the salesperson came out and did an excellent presentation. He answered all of our questions. A few days later someone came out to measure each window. It took approximately six weeks after that for the windows to come in. HomeFix called to schedule the installation. The crew arrived promptly at 8am and went to work. They checked each window before starting to verify they were the right size. One of the bay windows was too small. The crew measured and got on the phone with the office to get a new window ordered with the correct measurements. They were very neat. They put down covering on the floors and cleaned up before they left. They installed the windows and we could tell the difference right away. It took a couple of weeks for the other window to come in. They came out and installed it and replaced a screen that was damaged. The only issue was a disconnect in getting the capping scheduled for installation. This was completed and what a beautiful investment. We will contact them to do phase 2 of the windows. They were very professional from beginning to end. The crew was respectful of our home and took care to make sure everything was done to perfection. They were very professional. We will recommend HomeFix.

I could tell upon my first contact with the professionals at Homefix that we were really going to enjoy having them in our home. From the beginning, we trusted them to protect the investment in our home and that they would "do right" by us. We contacted them because we were collecting estimates for a couple of projects that we needed to have completed in our home. Their honest assessment and recommendation saved us money immediately, as they suggested other options and referred us to other home contractors who could do the work for us, saving our costs. When they came for the roof install, we were impressed with the demeanor and work ethic of the whole crew. When it became necessary for them to chase mold that was discovered while work was in progress, they did not balk, but took care of it and carried on. You want someone honest? Call these guys. You want professionals who will honor their commitment to you? Call these guys. They are that good. We can't wait to have them come back to replace windows next!
