Description of Work: Grounded pool heater, replaced outdoor electrical outlet, fixed 2 malfunctioning, recessed, light sockets

Description of Work: Light bulbs in various parts of the first floor were burning out. Neil (from Hawkins) determined that our surge protector was faulty (old) and he changed it. He also had time to change a dimmer switch in the dining room and two very old switches in the foyer. Neil did an excellent job of explaining why repairs needed to be made and he was very professional and efficient. Hawkins has been doing work for us for years and they have never had to repeat work on anything they have done here. Though they seem expensive, I recommend Hawkins to friends and I will continue to use them because the job is done right the first time.

Description of Work: they came out to check an outlet that was no longer working. Turns out the circuit breaker was tripped, which I had already checked and somehow missed. He said the outlet was a little weak/loose though and unless a plug wasn't all the way in, it wouldn't get electricity. The one drawback of using this company is their service fee on all visits. If I didn't have the outlet replaced, I would have paid about $80 for him to check the outlet, which took about 5 minutes. I decided to have him replace it, and the fee got rolled into the total. They are very up front about the fee when you make an appointment, but in this particular case, it was kind of a rub.

Description of Work: He replace two bathroom exhaust fans.

Description of Work: I had some lights/outlets that were not working. I agreed on a "pre-paid" amount of $197 to troubleshoot the problem (which included all kinds of variables and equipment). The electrician went and hit the "reset" button in a bathroom and that fixed the problem. Still had to pay the $197. Then, he asked me if I wanted to change the GFCI outlet (which he had reset) to hopefully avoid the problem in the future. I thought that would be included in the "prepaid" fee I had agreed to, but no! I was charged an additional $99 for this service!! Outrageous. So, when they added the standard $55 travel fee my total came to $360.75 (incl a "TFS" charge??). Thankfully, I had my Angie's List $50 off coupon! So, I "only" had to pay $310.75. Will never use Hawkins again and would not recommend them to any one.
