other than a few minor miscommunications, the work was done promptly. Dustin, the electrician arrived at 9 am and worked with his helper until 6 pm. He provided me with several suggestions to bring other aspects of th electrical equipment of my house up to code as I am planning to sell the house mid 2015. All of his suggestions were helpful and will make selling the house that much easier.

Hawkins Electric was prompt in answering emails and their service tech Richard arrived right on-time and performed all requested services and provided good advice on whether to proceed with other jobs that saved me money and earned them my appreciation. To top it off - the agent handling emails and assignments via email responded to my request to refund $75 for the Angie's list credit that I forgot to mention when Richard filled out the bill. That check arrived in the mail yesterday - within 2 business days of our conversation. All in all a very satisfying experience and I have no hesitation in saying I would use Hawkins Electric again and recommend them to family and friends.

After six hours of troubleshooting the problem was solved. Unfortunately our microwave oven and the coffee maker experienced a power surge and died. We should have been warned to unplug them

Everything went well. Richard was very nice and did a great job. I have had them come out twice now and both jobs were done well. I would use them again

They did an excellent job. He was wearing a uniform. He was very prompt. He was on time and professional. I called the receptionist and they made an appointment and then he came out the next morning. The pricing was fair. He showed me a book that broke down the services and what the prices would be. He was very organized.

I purchased a big deal for an electric system inspection. I'm not sure when this took place: sometime late 2011/early 2012. The technician was very personable and professional and discovered a few things that needed to be done, and made some suggestions without a big sales push, which I appreciated. He did replace a dead GFCI outlet in my garage that controls all the bathroom outlets in the house, so that those outlets were able to be reactivated and function for me, which was huge. That cost under 200 dollars. It was a very useful and helpful service and I would definitely hire them again.

In the middle of a weekend night I researched Angie's List for an electrician to do repairs requested by our buyer during our home inspection. I was very surprised to hear from him the next afternoon - still the weekend -- to schedule a 9:00 a.m. Monday morning visit. This was very helpful, as we had only so many hours to respond to our home inspection. Jason was so pleasant and discussed the problems with me, even giving me the proper terms to research online so I would understand why the inspector was asking us to correct these items. He even reminded me to download the Angie's List coupon which I couldn't do right then, as I had an another appointment. I, regretfully, forgot to do so later. Next morning at 9:00 a.m. sharp, Justin arrived and very politely covered his shoes and viewed all the problem areas before beginning to tackle them, including retrieving needed supplies. He was careful, pleasant, and informative of what he was doing and why. Over four hours later the work was done and I paid my bill - totally forgetting my coupon. I emailed Jason how great it was that the work was done, but that I had forgot my coupon! He actually called within a few minutes to tell me they will refund the coupon amount. Even though I added to their bookkeeping, he was very gracious about it. If anyone else is searching for quality electricians, I would recommend Hawkins Electric Service, Inc. in Laurel, MD

The work was done on time, professionally, with no errors. Hawkins Electric got the job done on time with no issues, even though they had short notice. After working out some issues with the equipment provided by Comcast, the customer network has been running flawlessly. Hawkins' work proved to be outstanding and had no issues.

Great service, very professional, organized and knowledgeable. Everything was quoted upfront, and completed in a timely and professional manner. 1 month later we had some problems with our outdoor electrical outlet, they were glad to return and fix issue promptly and for no charge.

Called and had a pair of service technichians to the house in about 1.5 hrs who were coming off of another job. They checked out our home electrical after some odd issues around the house and took their time and didn't rush. They guys were very professional and were prepared to take care of several items we elected to do without a separate visit. I thought prices were very reasonable based on similar work performed by other companies over the years.

Their service was outstanding. I talked to the manager Jason who set this up very quickly. The office staff was very attentive and called me to verify the appointment and to let me know that a licensed electrician was on his way. They had to do this very quickly and make special arrangements with the sellers agent to get into the house. Jason found aluminum wiring through the house; some other major electrical issues. The cost to repair this along with mold found in the house helped us get out of contract since we would have to pay several thousands of dollars to fix all the things wrong with the house. Electrical wiring was just one of them. I am very thankful that they were able to get out to the house right away, go the extra mile to make arrangements with the agent, and the electrical called me on the phone as I was telling him what the issues were. He gave me a verbal response of all the issues and immediately sent me a report that I was able to get to my realtor. I appreciate this company very much. They are very professional, kind, and very knowledgeable. To help other buyers who are looking at homes built in the late 60s or early 70s be sure to have a licensed electrician to inspect because there is a large change it has aluminum wiring which was or can be very faulty in that area. Hawkins Electrical company is one of the few companies that can repair this permanently.

We live in a 100-year old house. It has some bad wiring. Periodically, things come up that make us aware of just how bad the wiring is. In this case, we were replacing our washer dryer and needed to add a socket to the laundry area, but the whole circuit the laundry area was on was screwed up and to make the socket work we needed a bunch of rewiring done. We knew there was a problem with the circuit because some lights that were on the same circuit also weren't working but we didn't know exactly what was going on. Brian, the electrician, arrived promptly at the scheduled time, made sense of our unclear explanations of the problem, and went to work. It took him several hours but everything works perfectly now, including the light fixture, which was unrelated to the other stuff. He even helped us move the old washer and dryer outside so we are all ready for the new one. We are very satisfied with the work that was performed and would use Hawkins Electric Service again.

Every part of this process went beautifully. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following day, Brian arrived promptly at the scheduled time and worked with me on the best use of his time for the list of jobs. We arranged for a second visit to complete the work and again, all the work was accomplished professionally, promptly, and for less than the estimate.

Hawkins Electric is just a great company, and I'd recommend them whole-heartedly for any project requiring a licensed electrician. Our electrical upgrade was a large project, and it went without a hitch. Both electricians were punctual, very courteous, and extremely thorough in testing the new electric and all connections in my house. Additionally, when the county inspector requested some adjustments to the breaker box installed, the same electrician came back out free of charge, and made the adjustment without delay. And, when the power company had an additional request regarding the final connection to the house and the requirement of a metal box for the meter to be installed into, the very same Hawkins electrician (Brian S., thank you so much!) came back a THIRD time, again free of charge, to make the final connection per the power company's specifications. All Hawkins staff was extremely professional -- from the receptionist answering the phones, to Patrick, the owner, whom I spoke with several times, and especially the electricians sent to my home. Brian S. is a true professional, and did an outstanding job. The entire Hawkins team genuinely cared that this investment to my home was executed correctly from start to finish, and clearly went the extra mile to assist me in having this project done right. The replacement of electrical panel went well, so I contacted the office for another electrical job. The electrician that did the panel said it wasn't his speciality to run electrical for a heat pump for a pool. I am a little upset that when I called about this job two weeks that the office did not check with the electrician if he can or would do this job. So low and behold I have a heat pump that is not set up with electricity. I have no problems with the electrician I am more upset with the office not verifing if he could do the job. I would have been fine with someone else and would have set up a different day for that specific job. I was trying to set up the electrician and delivery of heat pump on the same day so it would be up and running on the same day. The service was great and professional by the electrician. I would use them again but would defiinitely ask the office to verify that the electrician they are sending is willing to do the job and/or knows what to do.

The repair went well. Brian was knowledgeable and professional. He showed up during the designated window of time and finished his work quickly and thoroughly. The customer service people I spoke to were helpful and professional. They informed me of a coupon that was available which would reduce the cost of my service by $75. That made me more comfortable with the fact that I had to pay $79 for an estimate to do the work which did not apply to the charge for the service. It was a good experience and I would recommend Hawkins to a friend.

Hawkins Electric did an outstanding job. The workers were very professional and knowledgeable. The work took several days and they showed up on time and were respectful of my time and my property. More importantly, I had a few minor follow up issues and Hawkins immediately sent someone to fix. They came on time. Explained to me everything that needed to be done before they got started. Told me the type of light fixtures they were using and installed the light fixtures.

The service person seemed knowledgeable and was very thorough and patient with y questions.

They were professional. But the cost came out to nearly $1,000 more than another highly-rated company, who I ended up going with.

I thought they did a competent job and they did do what they said they were going to do. I felt the technician was callow. I felt he did not listen to me. I needed additional ampage in my kitchen area, and he did not do that. I had to get another electrician to give me what I needed. He could have listened to me very easily and gotten what I needed done. Scheduling was easy and they were able to get out to me the next day.

They were late arriving but overall were very professional and helpful with their advice and recommendations. Were not pushy or intrusive.

The estimators were cocky and not attentive. They said they would email a quote. I waited a week and decided to follow up. They had the right email address but somehow I slipped through the cracks. When I did receive a quote it was close to twice the cost of other quotes. They even charged me a $59 fee to give me an estimate! The other vendors provided free estimates. One of them was one I have used in the distant past but not on Angie's list. I am going with them.
