They were kind and honest, but expensive, so we did the work ourselves.

The work was well done, and completed quickly. He explained the problem, and the solution to my satisfaction.

Guy worked very hard to get the oven out. He did a very thorough job. Very personable. Very professional.

The repairman was very knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed our electrical problems.

Matt was helpful, friendly, and professional, and answered all of our questions. He did the work we asked. We had a little trouble installing sliders for some very large ceiling fans we have in our bedroom, but he came back later and tried different switches. Over two visits, he probably spent 4 hours or more just just working on those fans -- taking them apart and putting them back together, trying to do what we asked (we weren't charged extra for the time.) We'd definitely call them again.

Overall experience was expectional. Hawkins Electric was referred to us by the contractor who installed our irrigation system. I typically shy away from estimates that have a fee, but based on the recommendation I called Hawkins. Hawkins sent Matt and I was very comfortable with Matt - his professionalism, ideas, and proposal. Hawkins was very professional with their follow up and understood our desire to get other prices. Comparable estimates were not much different and some higher. Matt/Hawkins did a great job and clearly takes pride in work. We will use Hawkins again.

They gave plenty of repair options. They already have a set price list so this limits price gauging and that was beneficial. The technician that came out was very knowledgeable.

This was a very pleasant experience. The first step was walking through the house to get the details of what i wanted. Next he provided me a quote. It took him about 10 minutes to put it together which included my options for each service. The quote was straight forward. All prices were laid out in a very clean booklet to which he referred. He arrived in the afternoon. He originally wasn't sure if he would be able to finish all 3 jobs. But come 4 o'clock, the time he was suppose to leave, he told me that he was going to finish the job. That is above and beyond what I expect from a contractor. Ultimately, he left a little after 6pm after completing all three jobs. One last thing, all the materials he needed were in his truck so that he could start right away.

I was happy with the inspection in January and called Hawkins back to do the work in May. They told me the job would take a day and a half and everything went according to plan until they started to test out the new circuit breakers. They had installed a new type of circuit breaker that detects any arcing in the system - which it did - so one or two of the circuit breakers kept switching off. They worked diligently for an extra day and a half, with no extra charge to me, to find the problem. The service manager spent at least a day on the job and at one point there were three people here, going through the house outlet by outlet, switch by switch, light by light until they tracked down the faulty wiring. The problem was in no way any of their fault - it is a 50 year old house and I suspect a do-it-yourselfer used to live here. These people are the ultimate professionals. They were on time every day, they were courteous, they were diligent and they worked until they got it done and done right. My only disappointment was that when they came back to rehang the cabinets ( taken down for access because the electrical panel was inside one) they weren't prepared to also fix the holes in the ceilings of the basement closets (made when they ran the grounding wire). When I asked about that he admitted that he wouldn't be able to repair them but reduced my bill by an agreed amount.

It went well, in addition to fixing what was needed, there were a few other pointers the service person told me I would need to fix in the future. More than likely, I will use this company aagain. THe repair was relatively easy which resulted in a low cost.

The garbage dispose-all was not working, even though it had been replaced by a plumber, but still did not work. So in addition to a grinding dispose-all that had stopped working, there was problem either in the switch or the electrical circuit. The problem was diagnosed to be in the switch, hence a simple fix. The electrician arrived promptly in the morning at the stipulated time and the work was completed in under an hour. Hawkins Electric charges by the job, and adds in a destination charge.

As others have noted, Hawkins probably isn't the cheapest company out there, but the service was top notch. Matt was as professional as they come and just an all-around good guy. He did a comprehensive inspection and gave us honest opinions about what did and did not need attention. He gave us an itemized list of jobs that we could tackle over time including a panel upgrade, rewiring of basement lights, and replacement of several outdoor outlets. Matt identified a few problems that required more immediate attention and took the time to fully explain them and the costs associated with fixing them. He gave me several very helpful pointers for installing a new ceiling fan and even offered to help walk me through any problems by phone in case I got stuck.

I was very happy with this company. The man who came was very knowledgeable and gave me the discount with no problem. I would use them again in the future.

They probably aren?t the cheapest but electrical stuff is one of those areas that you want to feel good about what you are getting. They guys that were here knew what they were doing and they gave us options and worked with us and make adjustments. They were here early every time.

Called company for estimate and I was informed that I would be charged $75. Unsure of the quality of work but the majority of companies don't charge you to patronize their business.

Excellent! The electrician Brian epitomizes the type of contractor you would want in your home: polite, respectful, focussed, quiet, provided detailed answers, pointed out concerns, used caution around my pets. Brian did not leave one single sign of his ever being here; no chips, dust, wire fragments etc.. The work was done efficiently and on time. I will use Hawkins in the future for numerous other things I want done over the next few years and I will continue to recommend them to friends and colleagues. My end cost was a bit higher than estimate due to an initial wrong count on my part. If you want a precise count, have them come out and do an estimate. This was a big job, it took 4 days.

The satisfaction with this company started with extremely pleasant reception to my call and easy scheduling. Also, the electrician was very prompt. The truck was stocked with items needed. The electrician was absolutely wonderful --easy to work with and knowledgeable. He worked very hard but very efficiently all day long and explained everything in detail. He was very meticulous, pleasant and informative. He left detailed paperwork which is a too rare occurrence. This is clearly a company that values its customers. While some of the prices were a little high, the coupon helped, but also the great experience made it more palatable. I would highly recommend this company and I am a tough grader who has lived through many disappointments with electricians. Great quality of service!

The electrician called to let us know he was on his way, he was punctual, and professional. He assessed the situation and recommended the solution, at a reasonable cost. Work was performed effeciently and he told us to call back if we encountered any other problems with the switches.

Overall, I am very happy with the result, but I feel as though $121.00 is a bit much for a 20 minute job.

3 GFI outlets in 3 different bathrooms quit working and hitting the re-set buttons didn't work. Checking the fuse box didn't show any fuses having been tripped. Called Hawkins and Justin answered the phone (he was in the office between calls and it wasn't beneath him to answer a phone and be helpful wherever he could). Justin was polite and helpful and gave me an estimated time of arrival at my home. He called me again when he was on the road to give me a closer estimate of his arrival time. He arrived as promised and took his time checking out all possible causes of the problem. He found a bad wire in the GFI outlet in the powder room. Replaced the GFI then re-checked all the outlets that had been affected to insure they were indeed working. I am so thankful that Hawkins Electric is willing to come all the way to Waldorf whenever we have electrical issues because their professionalism, responsiveness and fairness in pricing, etc. make us want to always use them.

Hawkins showed up on time and finished the job quickly. The electrician even helped us move our old stove around the house into the backyard. I've used them before and will definitely continue to do so.

Hawkins came to fix a fan that they had previously installed-improperly installed and because the result of the improper installation resulted in a damaged part. The technician replaced the part with something he had on his truck and then charged me top dollar. If I had it to do over, I would have protested and asked to go all the way up to the president of the company if necessary because the technician admitted that the fan was wobbly because it wasn't screwed in tight enough. I also purchased a device that was supposed to save on overall electricity bills and increase the life of appliances. I saw no improvement.

The technician called a half an hour or so before he arrived. We discussed the issues we were having and then he provided an estimate of the scope of work and the cost. He then got down to work, completing everything in about 3-4 hours. The technician was left alone in the house, and then gave me a call about a half an hour before finishing so I could lock up the place (it is vacant as it is being renovated). All in all, I was very satisfied. I found the cost to be a bit pricey but in my experience it pays to go with a reputable firm in the first place, rather than going with a craigslist person, and then calling that reputable firm later on to clean up the problems created by that first guy!

The fixed the problem and fixed several other small issues with other sockets in the house.

He was very courteous. I wouldn't rate this company very highly, because the cost of the piece of equipment that he was telling us he was going to get would be $2,100. The other gentlemen did the whole job for $1,900, using the same equipment. So you almost have dishonesty. I would not call this company back.
