The first audit was $89. After that audit they did some trouble shooting. They replaced a faulty circuit breaker, and installed 3 outlets with the type of outlet that lets you know if the circuit has been broken. Two of the outlets were in the bathroom. Essentially, they replaced a circuit breaker, and 3 outlets. The trouble is, the guy that initially did the installation didn't do it right, and the circuits were shutting off. I had to call them back to fix the problem, which they eventually did. Hawkins was very responsive in sending them back out to fix the problem, I give them that. I would probably not use them again.

They are good to go to. They have a fixed price structure that lets you know ahead of time what things are going to cost. I would use them again in the future.

They were very good. They provide good value and good service. They gave me an estimate and actually came in under the estimate because when they actually did the work, they said it was not as much work they thought it would be. So instead of charging me like extra $90.00, they just left it at the reduced price. I appreciated that. They could have charged me another $90.00 without saying anything and just said well, we did not have the concern we thought we had and fixed it at a reduced rate. I intended for them to come back and do another job for me.

We thought it would be a good idea to have our 15 year old home inspected when we saw the Angie's List Big Deal at such a good price. We also wanted to replace the light fixture in our bathroom and this was good motivation to get it done. It took us about a month to select and purchase the light fixture, and Allison at Hawkins contacted us by e-mail and voice mail at that time to remind us to schedule when we were ready. Dustin arrived on time and performed the inspection, explaining what he was checking and pointing out any areas that needed correction (mostly due to updates in the electrical code since the house was built). He explained his recommendations and answered all of my husband's questions. We decided to make many of the corrections and he performed the work to our satisfaction. He removed an old light in our bathroom and replaced it with the two new light fixtures we had purchased. Everything went very well and we are most pleased with the new lights.

Neal arrived right on time, explained what he'd need to do and installed the lights. He was courteous and professional. The room looks great! Allison in the office was great too when I scheduled the job. She answered all my questions and got us scheduled on a convenient day. This was a great experience. No complaints and I'd certainly use Hawkins again.

Hawkins was VERY good about getting in touch and setting the appointment up. The guy came on time, was extremely courteous and did a great job. The install of four recessed lights and a switch is flawless and he didn't cut any extra holes or make unnecessary mess.He even cleaned up after himself so well that I didn't have to do any sweeping or mopping of drywall dust. The only reason I'm giving them a B on the price and overall was that the install ended up costing me more money than I wanted. The deal says that the switch and wiring was included but it turns out that only counts if you have a switch nearby that can be used. If not, they have to run wires and install a new box (or whatever it is called - receptacle?) which costs an additional fee that was pretty high. Nonetheless, Hawkins gets an A+ for professionalism, timeliness and quality so I would definitely recommend them again to others and use them again.

They came, did the work, and as informed in advance, did not repair the holes they made in the drywall to complete the wiring. Other than the coupon, I found their quoted prices to be high. I negotiated down from a very high quote on the whole house surge protectors ($400 each) to $300, which I still considered high. I was disappointed that I had to separately get a garage company to repair the switch, when it was fundamentally an electrical problem (though low, not high, voltage). The work they did was neat, professional, and well-done, hence the rating.

They did a fantastic job. They were timely and reasonably priced.

They guided me to a sump pump specialist vs electrician to solve our problem. Very much appreciate their integrity and honestly about thier ability to do a good job on our particular problem.

This is a good contractor. Dustin was the technician. He was courteous, on time, and helpful.

It was a Big Deal that I purchased. It was a fantastic experience. It took about 2 days. The technician, Neal, worked really hard to try to locate the switches for the recessed lighting where I wanted them even though the first 3 places I wanted them was inaccessible. He spent several hours trying to relocate the switch boxes there even though I had duct work blocking it. He was incredibly professional. He showed up on time and did a really good job cleaning up. The prices were fine even beyond the special deal, which I appreciated. They had a good price book and I could see all the prices upfront. They were happy to estimate other work for me. Overall I had a great experience with these guys. The price I got was fantastic because it was an Angie's List deal. I would absolutely use them again.

Fine, PEPCO took a while to come inspect (Montgomery County came very quickly!) but finally in December we were cleared. Hawkins office staff kept us up to date all along the way. Very much appreciated. Electrician was professional and quick.

From beginning to end our experience with Hawkins Electric was favorable. We called on a Tuesday morning and talked to Allison, who was pleasant, informative, and helpful. Fortunately, we were able to arrange an appointment for later in the day to have the electrical assessment done. Allison called before the technician arrived. During this call, she provided the name of the technician and the time of arrival. When the technician, David, arrived (right on time), he introduced himself and explained in detail exactly what the electrical assessment involved. David conducted a thorough assessment and finished up with a written and verbal explanation of his findings. He noted a few items that needed follow up. We arranged for a return visit on (1/10/12) to have the other work done. Again, David was punctual and professional and completed the work in a timely manner. Without hesitation, we would contact Hawkins again to take care of future electrical needs.

They are close by and people seem to like them. My wife was here and they came in downstairs and configured the surge protector and left. Everything is well. Overall I was not around and my wife did not have a problem with them. They just did their job and left. I will use them in the future.

We just haven’t had any need for an electrician. They were good but I just decided to try somebody else because I thought they were expensive. I wouldn’t say anything bad about them because they are clean and neat. They put covers on their shoes and they did a great job. They were prompt and it was easy to get an appointment. They knew what I wanted to do and they did a good job. When my fan didn’t work right and there was a part that was missing, they actually called for me from my house to the company and requested the part that wasn’t working. I thought that was above and beyond the call of duty. I got the replacement the next day; so that was amazing service. I really, really liked that and I thought that they were great.

My overall experience was very good. The technician (Neal) was prompt and courteous. The panel box in my home was the primary focus in the inspecton. The technican found that one of my circuit breakers was double tapped which he said was a safety hazard. As a result, he installed two 15 amp single pole breakers which cost an additional $223.75. He also checked all of my outlets. I had one outlet that I knew was not working. The technician told me that it would cost between $49 and $229 to find out what was wrong with it. Since the actual price could not be determined until he opened it up, I thought that there was too much of a range to continue. I believe that most people including myself prefer a flat rate for diagnosing a problem especially when you also have to pay to have it fixed.

Everything went well, but we went with another firm that charged a lower price.

I called in to American Home Shield for an electrical evaluation. They sent the Hawkins Electrical Service company out and they were very polite, knowledgeble, and helpful. The technician arrived punctually and went straight to the heart of the matter. He asked what were the issues and listened to all that was said before beginning. He then systematically began a process of elimination until he found the problem. He explained everything he was doing and why. He even looked at some other electrical related things we had questions about that were not DIRECTLY connected to the problem area. I GREATLY APPRECIATE THAT and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!! Sinerely, Mrs. H.

The simple fix was that a ground fault interrupter had tripped in another room. I was unaware that it was on the same circuit as the room in which the lights wouldn't work. He reset the switch and voila - everything worked. We agreed that was an expensive lesson for me as he charged me full price for the visit.

They charged me about $100 for their services. My experience with them was very good. They gave me a good estimate. They made the repairs very quickly. It was all very quick and clean.

They were very responsive and they had a relatively narrow time window. The guy who was coming said that it was apparent that I needed a new remote and receiver so if I bought one before he came we could save a trip. That was perfect. It took him about 20 minutes to do it and we were done. It would have been better if they had responded to my email sooner so that I didn?t have to run out at the last minute, but it worked out today. They were a little pricey but they got it done efficiently and effectively.

It started just a tad bumpy, the technician didn't realize it was a high rise with concrete ceilings and needed to run out to Home Depot to pick up additional supplies. I think you should come to jobs prepared for just about anything so that was a bit of a down turn for me as it ate up additional hours of my day. However, he returned installed the ceiling fan and it did take a good deal of time, but the job was nothing short of perfection. It was worth every cent I paid and worth every hour I sat around waiting for the job to be complete. Outstanding work really isn't that easy to come by so I'm more than happy with the work that was performed and I will use Hawkins again for my next electrical job.
