Timely, punctual, and a nice gut.

They were prompt. They took the appointment. They called me back. They let me know when they were coming. They got here and they installed it with no problem. They were very courteous and professional. I was very satisfied. I would certainly call them again.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it worked out very well. The price was good, the service was good, and we didn't have problems with it. We paid extra for the chandeliers that we had them put in. I think their pricing was high, and I would probably not use them again because of that.

It was great. They were super professional and it's my first time as a home owner so I din't really understand the material that I needed but they explained to me and then installed my ceiling fans. They did a great job. The approximate cost was $1375 for the added wiring and the installation so the total amount was $1494.

The electrician showed up on time and got straight to work. Installed a smoke detector and a light that I had already purchased. He was very professional and got the work done quickly and cleaned up after himself leaving no mess. Great service.

First, before purchasing the coupon, I called them and verified that they would be able to do the work after giving them specifics of my situation. They said yes. Second, there were scheduling problems since their scheduler was rarely answering phones. The screener answered, but trying to get the scheduler was a challenge. After several attempts, I secured an appointment time and spent 20 minutes explaining to the scheduler what I wanted. At the end of the conversation, she wanted me to call the serviceman -- why? Shouldn't he be the one calling me back to get clarifications? Nevertheless, I did call him and explained what I wanted. He said it shouldn't be a problem. Third, the day of the service he call, the service man wanted to reschedule because he didn't want to head in my direction during that time of day due to traffic --- well why didn't they tell the scheduler that?? Fourth, upon arrival, the two serviceman told me that they couldn't install the fan (which I had already purchased), and gave me several excuses. Told me it would cost 4-5x as much. All they could do was give me reasons on why they couldn't --they had no intention of doing the work, only rendering an opinion of why it would cost a lot more. Then I pointed out other things I wanted to accomplish where the coupon value could be used -- each project turned out to be 3-5x what I had received as an estimate from other companies. In the end, I have a coupon that can't be used, and my task is still unaccomplished.

I purchased the big deal from Angie's List and it went fine. They came in and they were very professional. They did what they had to do and they were gone. They did an excellent job and I have no complaints.

We took advantage of an Angie's List special offer for ceiling replacement fan installation. The work could have been scheduled much earlier had we wanted to do so, but the company was very accommodating in scheduling the work on the next date I was able to be away from work. Two men arrived on time as scheduled and promptly and professionally installed a replacement fan. The replacement unit was an unusual, high-end brand (Haiku) that they had not installed before -- yet they patiently worked through the instruction guide and had the fan installed in no time. Packing material and the old fan were carted off and the room was restored to its original arrangement. Will certainly use their electrical services in the future.

Since I work, I expect the window for arrival that the provider gives me to to be kept. The young man arrived appx a half hour after the close of the window -- very apologetic, explaining that someone had not shown up at work. I have no electric savvy, so I don't know if the provider should have been able to replace the switch on the first visit. The same young man came back for the second visit, about 15 minutes after the end of the window, again very apologetic and blaming the delay on DC traffic. After replacing the dimmer with a new switch, the fan still did not work. Although it was fresh out of the box, the motor apparently had some defect. That was a big disappointment (I had already spent more on installation attempts than the fan had cost on sale), but the young man did not charge for his travel time, so my bill was less than expected. The electrician was always very polite, and if the fan is defective that's not his fault. I am a stickler for punctuality, but otherwise I think the provider provided good service.

We were able to schedule an appointment fairly quickly to have our old ceiling fan replaced with a new one. The customer service rep called the morning of our appointment to let us know that the electrician could come to our home earlier than expected if we would like. (Some companies just show up early. We appreciated both the call and the asking if that would be convenient.) The two electricians worked steadily the entire time, sweeping up and wiping the floor after they were done. The fan and light work. It went smoothly.

The service I got from Hawkins Electric Services Inc. was great. I called them and their response was prompt. They were courteous and they were about the business of getting it done and getting it done right. I had no complaints. I've since used them again. They found a lot wrong, and I had somebody else to go out and they also noted the same kind of problems. The quote from both of the companies were very much aligned. There was just something about Hawkins Electric that made me feel better about them as a company I wanted to work with. They were very responsive, very polite and courteous. They obviously knew what they were talking about. I have no complaints. My brother actually lives in the house and he had no complaints either. They were on time and cleaned up. They did everything that you want a company to do.

The vendor called to make appointment and showed up on time; technician worked diligently to install four recessed lights in basement. Recessed light work was fine except the vendor did create a ceiling messed that required a painter to fix by doing drywall patch and painting.

I am the same person who three days ago that I had been ripped off by Hawkins. The next day, a representative of the company called and admitted that their ad for a $119 job had been misleading. "How can we make this right?" he asked. I told him he could return $125. He offered to return more. He arrived here the next day and he returned both checks I had written. In their place, he asked for $269. That means the total cost of the instillation, including the initial $119, was $388 -- down from my original expenditure of $622. He also apologized for the confusion. As a result of this experience, I have become a fan of both Hawkins and Angie's List! Never before in my life have I encountered a home improvement contractor with that much integrity. Thanks, Angie!

Called 30 minutes ahead of time to say he was on his way. Showed up promptly and was in and out within half an hour, no muss, no fuss. Fan looks great, works great - not too noisy and no wobble. Great job.

I got ripped off. I bought the voucher for $119 and the advertisement cautioned that it would probably cost another $125 if there was no electricity already in the ceiling. So I anticipated paying the electrician a total of $244. When they arrived, however, they said it would cost me $244 plus an additional $388. I still don't understand how they justified the extra money. So it cost me a total of $632 to have a fan installed. Including the cost of the fan, the project cost me nearly $800. That's a lot more than Angie's list led me to believe. On top of that, I suspect Hawkins Electric may be deceiving Angie's list about this offer. They made me write two checks and gave me two separate receipts -- one for the cost as quoted on Angie's List ($244) and the other for the extra $388. I suspect they will send the receipt for the smaller amount to Angie's List and they will not report how they charged me an extra $388.

Receptionist/dispatcher is most friendly. Called to say they'd be arriving early, if that was OK. The team was quick and efficient. In and out in 30 minutes.

The electrician was very professional and courteous. We were happy with the final result.

This company provided an estimate for $2323 to install outlets and run two dedicated electrical lines for kitchen remodel. The company charged $59 dollars for this estimate of $2323, which was more than twice as high as other free estimates I got for the same work. After receiving much lower estimates from other electrical companies, I called Hawkins Electric to complain about the $59 charge for their unreasonably high estimate and explained other companies gave me free estimates to complete the same work for approximately $1000. The Hawkins representative (I didn't get his name) told me he was pulling the check I gave him for the estimate out of my file and would not cash it. I had the work completed by different company on Angie's List which I will review separately, for less than half the cost Hawkins was going to charge. When I logged into my bank account today, which is about two weeks after I spoke with Hawkins, I noticed the company just cashed the check for the estimate after they told me they wouldn't. I have yet to re-contact Hawkins regarding them cashing my check, which I intend on doing, and I will update this review if they reimburse me. Interestingly, when I was getting a second estimate, one of the electricians (who wasn't aware I had received an estimate from Hawkins) told me to "watch out for Hawkins Electric because they highly over charge." **Update: When I contacted Hawkins Electric, they apologized for inadvertently cashing the check and sent a check to me for the amount.

They gave us a complete estimate, they understood, made their recommendations and gave me a written estimate. Their price was a little higher than the others. They gave a good estimate.

I was very pleased with the young man that they sent.

The gentleman did a wonderful job on keeping the hole he made very subtle, and also keeping the walls pretty clean during the installation. He was very efficient and thouroughly explained everything. I was seeking quality and I feel that I received it with this company. I will definitely choose them in the future for commercial or residential services.

We were very pleased with the work and the knowledge and professionalism of the electrician sent to perform the work. He knew exactly what needed to be done and was able to answer all of our questions. While at the site he spent a few minutes looking into another electrical concern and provide us with a few thoughts on getting that problem resolved. Again, we were quite pleased with the experience.
