+ -1 moreOur 40-year old home has developed several interior and exterior cracks over the years. I hired Design Depictions to understand their causes and make sure we do not have a structural (e.g. foundation) problem before addressing the cosmetic issues. Michael spent far more time than I expected discussing, reviewing, and analyzing these issues. One of the cracks formed in my daughter’s room shortly after we renovated the house in 2008. The architect and builder were not able to diagnose the issue on this non-weight-bearing wall, but Michael came up with an explanation very quickly based on the location of the wall relative to the joists. It’s so nice to have this mystery finally solved! Michael followed up the meeting with a detailed analysis describing the causes and remedies for the cracks he observed. I couldn’t be more pleased with Design Depictions. I will definitely recommend and use their services again.

Description of Work: We've worked with Michael on quite a few projects recently. He is always a pleasure to work with. He is responsive, always there to answer any questions, and works with us on strategies that are not only cost efficient for the space, but also can be executed quite easily considering, many of the recent projects we worked with him on are in crawl spaces with limited accessibility. We highly recommend him and would work with him again.

Description of Work: Although I needed a structural engineer to examine the recent cracks in my home due to a faulty unlicensed liar/contractor (to which we settled in Court 2015). I called Mr. Michael via his cellphone and he was kind enough to thoroughly explain to me as he patiently walked me through to measure the beams in my basement & found that I need a Beam on my first floor (as there are NO cracks in my Basement cement walls, and that my issue is minor. He further explained his business specialize in assisting clients with drawings of architectural layouts of what their dream design should like prior to renovation. In addition although no work was performed he provided his knowledge & expertise for free.

Description of Work: He thoroughly accessed and surveyed my basement and outside surroundings, he took multiple measurements and pictures, spent at least four hours of his time and explained his assessment patiently and confidently. He was totally receptive to my questions and concerns. His final product with his official seal and recommendations were and is a seventeen page document with pictures of all problem areas and a detail description to any contractors as to how to make the indicated repairs. He also gave me a list of licensed contractors that he has previously worked with and are familiar with as contact potentials to do the work. I had several individuals come by to give me assessments and proposal. Not anyone came near to his scrutiny or level of expertise not only as to what should and must be done, but more if not just as important, the depth and severity of the problem. Thank You Very Much. + 0 moreThe entire job exceeded my expectations. Throughout the project Michael was very pleasant, professional and thorough. I appreciated that he was very easy to talk with and more importantly he discussed what he was looking at and what he was doing in terms that could be understood. When we encountered an unforeseen condition, Michael was very responsive to our project, investigated the situation and made the necessary to changes on the drawings that he had provided at no additional cost. Michael is a top notch guy and in my opinion an excellent engineer. I would definitely hire Michael again.

He came to the site two times in order to ensure that the information was correct and complete.
