ARS / Rescue Rooter Laurel

A few weeks ago i had called a different plumber about a lack of pressure in my lines to my upstairs bathroom. The first plumber told me that my pipes were frozen and that waiting it out was the best option. The day before service I then lost all water in the house. I figured that this was then the time to have someone thaw my pipes. I called ARS to see about this service and they do in fact perform it. The gentleman I spoke with that evening then asked me many questions about my house (in fact spending more time on the phone with me than the previous plumber had spent in my home) and said that it may not even be frozen pipes. He suggested I call first thing in the morning to get someone out as he could not be there that evening. I did so and they sent someone right away. The man they sent was professional took a look at EVERYTHING. It turns out the last plumber had not fully reopened the main line, and that my lines were clogged with rust from my aging galvanized pipe lines int he basement. had everything fixed and working within an hour. Was extremely courteous and professional and I felt comfortable with him in my home. Will absolutely call again.

They did everything well. I give them top rating.The pricing was good because it was a deal. I can't say if they always have good prices.

The big deal it self was good, it turns out the plumber was one of the most expensive plumber in the area, so even with the big deal, it cost us a lot more than it probably should have. He estimated after he got there, and he was right there, he charged what he estimated, but when we check with other plumbers later on, he probably charged us twice or three times as much as he should have. They got there right away, and were willing to take care of the problem right away. I would tell people to get estimates from other plumbers first.

I've used them for 25 years. I find if you find a good company and you continue to use them they'll treat you even better. Their service was excellent, they solved the problem. They came out the same day I called and they fixed in within two hours. I've always found them very helpful. They are very professional and the people that come out are all licensed professionals. What I like is that when they come out they have a binder with all of the pricing and possible work to be done so they don't just do a quote off the top of their heads. Before he does any work he asks for a signature to agree with the price. I like that I don;t have to negotiate for prices.

Late in Jan, 2014, during a very cold week, the pipes in our laundry room froze. We called Blue Dot, and they referred the call to ARS Rescue Rooter. I had been over-heating the room, so that, while their representative was here, water began to flow. He looked everything over, and adjusted a valve in the laundry room that fed an outdoor spigot. He gave some advice on how to prevent this again and discussed, in a general way, how the pipes might be re-routed to minimize the chance of another freeze. Cost of this visit was $60.00. About two weeks later, we noticed a lot of water on the floor, but the source was not obvious. It seemed like the trap in the drain line was leaking, but we tested that, and it was not. So we called ARS and they sent someone the next day. He couldn't find any source of a leak from the supply or the drain. He talked about removing the appliances, tearing up the carpet, and commencing a process to find the leak. Cost would start at $205. I declined. Just before he left, he went to the water meter and noticed that no water was flowing into the house, indicating that the source of the water was not the water supply. I paid another $60, and he left. Then, I filled the tub with water (about 2 feet), and it gushed all over the place. The front of the tub was cracked nearly top to bottom. We found a second crack across the bottom of the tub! He could have had the job to replace the tub, but he got only his service fee. I have agonized over whether the overall rating should be "D" or "F." Both young men were very professional, clean (they covered their shoes before entering the house), polite, and patient. Each one tried to explain carefully the nature of the problem and to outline appropriate measures to take. But when the second left, I was no closer to a solution than before he arrived. In the end, the lack of an obvious diagnosis rates an "F" in quality. The overall "D" represents an approximate average. Should I have rated the two visits separately? Reasons for needing a plumber may not be related, unless the freezing temperatures caused the sink to crack. I commend them for being prompt, charging a very reasonable service fee, and having very nice employees. However...

I purchased a big deal for them for $50 for $100 worth of plumbing. We didn’t pay any extra money. The guy was great. He solved the problem I had since I have been here. I wasn’t here; my niece was here. She liked him. He fixed our problem and it hasn’t returned in these two years. The price was absolutely great.

Would happily recommend to anyone needing similar services.

The first "plumber", that ARS sent me, said that he didn't have the knowledge to work on well water systems! He said he wished I told their secretary that I was on a well, because they would have sent somebody with the expertise then! I called their office and they sent me a "master plumber" the next day. He identified the problem as "leaking pitless adapter". He gave me an estimate for the repair and a repair that would include a water pump replacement (as my pump is approaching its maximum life). I thought the estimates were high and called around for pricing. ARS ' estimate was 2 1/2 times more than the plumber who ended up doing the work! I saved about $2000 on the work by not using ARS! ARS didn't charge for the estimate.

I loved the technician! He took the time to explain what he was doing and go over all my options but the coupon I bought was not honored. I bought $50 for $100 worth of plumbing services. The company took $50 off my bill. He said I prepaid the money. That is not all all what the coupon says. I didn't get my $100 off! UPDATE: I purchased a coupon on Angie's list for this company. They originally did not honor the coupon. After going through the resolution process they have honors the coupon!

Jason, our sales rep came out on a Saturday afternoon after I lost heat and planned out a new system to replace both HVAC units which were 13 years old. He did a great jobof giving me the best system for a reasonable price and set up the install for Monday so that we would not be without heat.Rolando, Larry and Barod came out Monday morning and worked all day installing the new systems. Roland kept me informed all day and gave me a thorough briefing when the job was complete. I really appreciated his "safety first" attitude by his looking over the entire house for Carbon Monoxide detectors and ensuring they were installed in the right places. I wish you could see the system and work area--they did a grea job. I have been with ARS for 13 years and they have also replaced my upstairs units as well last year. I would highly recommend this company and employees such as Jason and Rolando and his crew to anyone looking for professional HVAC Services.

He did not have the recessed hook-up box for the standard job. We were charged $59.95 for this non-service. Another guy came out on Monday and he did not have the hook-up box on his truck either. Found out from the second guy that he would charge $688 for this 1 hour job. We declined. This is not the first time ARS has quoted an outrageous price. Stay away from this company. The first guy seemed very nice and knowledgeable. The second guy had only worked there 2 weeks. Both came out to move the hook-up 4 inches so why did neither one have the proper equipment? The parts cost less than $50 at Home Depot - so ARS wants to charge over $600 per hour. This time, both technicians made it to the house at the end of the 5 hour time window. I have had ARS plumbers show up as late as 11pm at night for a 3pm appointment.

I called ARS as a second estimate comparison for a new HVAC system. Earl Bolden, Field Supervisor, was so great and went above and beyond by getting me financing that I actually went with this company versus the other which provided a lower estimate. I also received a number of perks and discounts with the system I selected. The installation was scheduled in two days and the process was painless. It took the installers about 5 hours to replace the furnace and a/c unit (and all the other intricates of replacing the unit). They handled the scheduling of inspections. I definitely recommend this company.

I ended up canceling the service because first they told me they would come on Tuesday. They never came. It was rescheduled for Thursday. Then they told me that while I had specifically asked about bleeding the radiators and they had said yes that was part of servicing the boiler, they even told me to move things away from the radiators before service. Then on the day of when they called to say they were in route, late, they said no this was a visual inspection of the boiler and bleeding the radiators would be another $300. I told them they didn't need to do anything at that point and we went our separate ways. What a bait and switch!

They are absolutely horrible. They attempt to get their servicemen to up sell additional equipment which is unnecessary. They come out with attitude. They use young professionals that just came out of the school and not more professional, experienced workers. I spoke with corporate and they would only refund $40.

I contacted the service provider and was given a window of 11-2pm for the technician to arrive. They were running behind and I ended up calling at 5:30pm to cancel after waiting around most of the day. Even then they weren't sure exactly when they could arrive. Rescheduled for the next morning and basically same thing happened. Ended up calling another company and they came today as promised. It took them 30 minutes to complete the job - it was that simple.

It went well. The price was very high at first but do to my thrifty nature i used personal coupons and the company online site which had coupons specific to my repair. I cut the high price in half. The repair was quick has been sucessful since the repair. Tech was very helpful and responsive. I would recommend again.

The service was good and professional. I thought the price was outrageous. The replacement parts which I looked up at Home Depot and used the most expensive prices, came to about $54.00. Including the service trip call of $59.95, the bill came to $345.70. If I deduct the service trip and the cost of the parts it brings the bill to $230 for and hour and 20 minutes of service. Maybe I am just totally out of touch with the cost of things and because I am not handy I have no choice.

The technicians take the time to speak with you and explain things well.

Repairs done quickly and to my satisfaction. I followed up on the suggestion regarding getting estimates for replacement of the furnace. The estimates did not include a price discount for money spent on repairs. Moral or the story, don't believe all you hear because the person providing the estimate knew nothing about the statement that repairs would be subtracted from new furnace/AC price. Ultimately I went with another contractor locally- this contributed to my decision.

No repairs were made; just the plumbing inspection

The serviceman provided and estimate, which was different than quoted on the phone. I declined the service but had to pay for the service fee. The serviceman would not accept the Big Deal that I purchased.

I liked that they showed up when they were supposed to. I liked that they were clean and that they stuck with their quote in price. They did a great job.

As planned except for I received a call back after services rendered and all paid and was told that the amount did not cover the service. The plumber said it was about a $75 job and that my angie's list coupon code would cover everything. The call the next day said that it was going to cost another $35 because snaking the drain (manual with no camera) was more than $75

They were able to fix the issue without charging me a single thing. It was as simple as air pockets in the main pipes. He explained how to fix it and didnt leave until we were able to problem solve. Excellent company and I would use them again.

Not well. They never showed up. I've attempeted to communicate with 5 different people. Either over the phone and numberous emails sent back and forth and they never actually would set up a time with me.
