Description of Work: Alex diagnosed my electrical problem over the phone and saved me a lot of money and trouble! I called Sunday morning and left a message to call me about a circuit in my kitchen; refrigerator and printer were not working. Alex returned my call, asked several questions about the problem, age of the house, and then asked if I had a GFI outlet in the kitchen. He suggested I push the reset button and everything worked. It was nearly impossible to get an electrician to the house on a Sunday, and it would have been expensive. Needless to say, Alex saved me a fat after-hours fee (and a freezer of food). I was impressed by his methodical approach to diagnosing the issue; he is the only one who asked questions, and would not hesitate to call him when I have need of an electrician in the future.

Description of Work: In kitchen with cinderblock walls: moved one outlet from floor to counter; put in 2 outlets on either side of sink; hooked up dishwasher; installed ceiling heater; hooked up ceiling light; brought outlet by refrigerator up to code.

This was a pretty basic job, though it did take some time. We have used Alex for years for all our electrical needs. He is local, prompt, easy to deal with, returns phone calls.

Description of Work: Everything went wonderfully. They arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, made the repair, and charged a fair price for services rendered. There was a minor problem with the installation, I called, they came the same day, fixed the issue satisfactorily. I'll definitely use this company for future electrical work.

+ -1 moreI decided to install an emergency generator after losing power several times this past year (PEPCO Customer). I purchased a generator large enough to handle our two refrigerators, computers, heat, lights, some cooking capability and a room AC unit. I decided I wanted to have a transfer switch and 30 amp connection box installed to allow for quick and easy hookup should the power go out. I received two bids after researching vendors on Angie's List and I also called Alex since I had used him to install new wiring during our kitchen remodeling several years ago. I selected Alex based on his lowest price and my experience with his previous work. Installation went smoothly and at the price he estimated. Work area was clean and all circuits were marked on the new transfer box. System works great!!!!
Description of Work: Alex Installed a 30 amp Reliance Manual Transfer Switch and Power Inlet Box to allow easy and fast hookup of a 7500 kw emergency generator I purchased from Costco. I purchased the transfer switch and inlet box separately after Alex provided the recommended setup and estimate of the labor cost. Labor included connecting eight 15/20 amp circuits and one 30 amp circuit from the main switchboard into the manual transfer switch as well as running 30 amp wiring to the outside box. Upon completion Alex ran me through the whole process connecting the generator, generator startup, switching the load to the generator and then the process for shutdown.

Description of Work: We had all of our outlets and light switches upgraded in our home. It was a 1950s home with all two-pronged outlets which needed replacement. He also installed the wiring for the ceiling fan light fixtures in three bedrooms. He also installed upgrades to circuits for kitchen appliances.

+ 0 moreThis guy is truly a Master Electrician. We have been calling on him for 20 years for our electrical needs. You normally have to leave a message on his answering machine and some times it takes a day or 2 for him to get back to you if it is not an emergency. If there is an emergency he will call right away.
Description of Work: He installed a new fan in our attic. We purchased the fan ourselves so the price reflects the labor only. The job took 2 hours to complete.
