I have mixed overall views from visiting from 7 years. It really depends on who is on staff if you get the best service. Basically if you need auto items, their location and prices are fair. I go to them all the time to maintain my cars. You start to get fancy and asking heavy duty automotive questions? Have you modified your car and they can't just tap in make/model/year in the computer. These guys probably can't help. Summary:Fast, Cheap, Convenient: yes.Knowledgeable, not really.
Description of Work: Battery replacement. The previous battery purchased from them failed within warranty. They did a free replacement for me.

I had to buy a battery for my wife's Honda Odyssey. When I went to buy the battery they did not have one on the shelf so they went in the back. I was in a rush to try to get home and get the battery in the van before it got dark I did not pay attention to the fact that they had just sold me a used battery with no label on it, but charged me for a new battery. Fast forward eight months when it was very cold and the van started having to be jump started a few times. I took the battery out and took it back to the store not realizing what they had done to me earlier. They found my record of buying the battery and the record of getting a credit when I turned the old one in. When they looked at the battery they told me it was not one of theirs and insisted they could not have sold me the battery. The person waiting on was polite but could not resolve the issue. The on duty manager thought the whole thing was quite amusing. He said there is no way they sold me that battery, but they did. I remembered that they did not have the battery I needed on the shelf so they went in the back to get it. I did not realize they got an old battery core and recharged it and sold it to me. I never even got around to telling the very sarcastic manager this part of the story because he was too busy laughing and telling me there was no way they could have sold me that battery. At the same time the guy waiting on me was telling me how they had a great deal of turn over back then. I tried to figure what motivation a store clerk could have had to sell me a used battery and then ring it up as new. The computer had a transaction so how could the employee skim the money. When I told my wife she said maybe the guy who sold it to me had stolen a new battery and this was a way to make the inventory match up again. That is the only thing that makes sens. I put the battery in myself so I know it was the battery they sold me that went into my car. At any rate the experience was appalling and demeaning. The manager was still laughing about and telling me I could buy another battery today and come back tomorrow when the general manager would be in. The funny thing is I have to work tomorrow and I don't have time to come back and my wife needs to be able to get to work tomorrow too. There is no way I am buying another product of any kind from these people, let alone another battery after what I went through. I am pretty sure this is not just deceptive but illegal behavior. The manager did not show any concern until I pointed out that I did not appreciated him laughing about this or his sarcastic behavior.
Description of Work: Bought a new (supposedly) battery from Advance Auto Parts. It was not new though, but I was charged for a new one.
