I will not use this company because of their aggressive sales approach. During our meeting, the salesman did three things I didn't like: 1) He wouldn?t give me a detailed, itemized estimate even though I asked for one twice, but instead just kept showing me financing options. He eventually gave me a quote on the work, but this was on his way out the door after I'd declined to use his company. 2) He told me that his best price was only good for that day and wouldn?t be guaranteed when he left. He kept pushing me to commit to something that day. 3) He was unclear at best about what price was for what service. We talked about doing my gutters which included replacing the soffits and rewrapping the fascia in order to add vents. Then he started to bring the price of the gutter work down, but I soon realized that the new low price didn?t include the fascia and soffits. In short, I hate that kind of thing and won?t give them my business no matter how good the product is.

The crew arrived first thing in the morning on time and worked until dark completing the effort in one day as promised. They completely cleaned up everything leaving the site as they found it. This was a very professional hard working crew. As the work progressed the crew was augmented as necessary to complete on time. The gutters are beautifully made of heavy duty materials in a larger format than the old gutters they replaced. They work as advertised, look wonderful. and don't clog or need cleaning (even though there is a lifetime cleaning guarantee). This job from start to finish has been a happy experience.

The salesman sold us on the quality (a bit of a hard sell: so what) and a price reduction a few weeks later really sold us. They did a great job of matching the outside frame color to our existing window frames. The installers were wonderfully efficient, friendly, and neat. We are delighted with the light streaming in through the new dining room window and the cats like being able to see the squirrels and chipmunks better. I am enamored of how much more I now enjoy looking out of the bathroom and bedroom windows. Great job and thank you so much.

The salesperson, measurement staff, call center and installers were all punctual highly responsive and easy to work with. The windows and doors are of a superior quality to what is sold in most of the replacement market. The workmanship is superior and we are elated with the results. We have and will continue to recommend Thompson Creek to anyone looking for a quality product with a local company that stands behind their work for the long haul.

The free in home consultation was very informative, the rep was able to answer all my questions and address all my concerns. The scheduling department was very efficient and did their best to accomodate my busy schedule. Both installations went smoothly and without any issues. I plan on getting doors from Thompson Creek as well in the future.

Entered into a contract with Thompson Creek on 3/29/10 to install 7 new windows - 2 kitchen windows, 2 in the living room, 2 in guest bedroom and 1 in master bathroom. After I was given a very thorough description of the windows I would be purchasing, an initial measurement of each window was taken and an explanation of the steps that would follow to completion, i.e., final measurements taken, ordering of windows, notification of when windows were in and setting installation date. I was also given a list of how to prepare for the installation of my new windows, such as removing blinds around the windows and any alarms. Everything was on schedule up to this point. On the day of installation, May 14, 2010, the installers (Bill & Eric) were on time and ready to work. They were professional and continued to work without letup until installation and clean-up were completed. I was shown how to operate (open, close, etc) the windows before the installers left. After they had gone I attempted to raise and swing out one of the living room windows so as to clean it but it did not work properly and seemed to be off track. I called customer service, an appointment was set up to have someone come out to make the adjustment. The adjustment was made, in fact he checked all the new windows that had been installed to make sure they were all operating correctly. The color chosen for the windows was very, very close to the original color of the outside trimwork. I am very pleased with the results and always admire my new windows upon leaving or arriving home.

We has an old wooden picture window with a casement window on either side, neither of which opened very easily. Also, a lot of cold air came in around that window. I contacted Thompson after finding them on Angies list. They are a local company that makes and sells their own windows, which they stand behind. The work was done in one day. The workers were very neat and precise in their work. They even touched up the window sill so that when they left, you would not have known that the window was replaced - except that it is so much nicer that what was there. During the estimate they showed a sample of their window and told how it worked to save energy. I was impressed. Their price was right in line with another estimate I had gotten for a lesser product!

We are very pleased with the gutters and the installation. The work crew was professional and very careful to leave no debris or damage. The only negative we found was the hard-sell approach of the representative who gave the estimate for our project and that is the reason we cannot give an A rating to the overall experience. After getting estimates from 3 other gutter companies we decided that Thompson Creek had the best product but they would have to come back to their Today-Only price if they were going to install our gutters. After speaking to the manager in the office, Thompson Creek offered their best price; we accepted and are very pleased with the results.

In dealing with the scheduling with measurement appointment I was given a date then told I had the wrong date then on the installation date I had prepared my windows removed all drapes and fixtures and by the late afternoon noon no one showed up I called the scheduler who very abruptly told me that it was not scheduled for that day I did'nt accept that to well and pursued another answer which ended up with some Boss sending out installer on Mother's day. The installation went well I am very happy with my windows from Thompson

We received an advertisement hanging on our door for new gutters from Thompson Creek. We'd been looking to replace our existing gutters due to winter damage and excessive wear and tear. Called Thompson Creek to get an idea of how much new gutters would be as well as to see what they had to offer. They were able to have a representative out to meet us that day, and he was there exactly on time, which was quite impressive. The gentleman who came to the house must have been new. It seemed like he was trying too hard to make a sale. Additionally, it felt like we had a high-pressure used car salesman in our house. In my opinion, not a good representative to have for your company. Nevertheless, he went through all the pros and cons of what they and their competitors had to offer, and acknowledged their product was more expensive. He brought sample materials you could touch, feel, etc to see what the construction of the gutters was like. Also brought paint samples to allow you to choose the colors you would like to have. When it came to pricing, he produced a sheet with three blank columns on it in the first one, he wrote down the cost for the gutters and installation, in the second, he put down the discounted price ($6500) if we agreed to buy them right then and there and put a sign in our yard for 2 weeks. We gave him a price we were looking to pay, he made a phone call to his manager who said he could come down to $5970 if we agreed to extend the advertising sign in our yard for an additional 2 weeks, and paid via cash or check. The installation team was nowhere near as punctual as the salesman. I had to call the company to ask where they were. The supervisor arrived 2 hours later than the original 10am-12pm window. He started removing the existing gutters immediately. The rest of the team arrived around two hours later. When I got home from work around 5:30pm, they were still working to install the gutters in the middle of a thunderstorm. I appreciated the diligence with which they were working, but question the decision to work under such conditions. They were unable to complete the install that day due to it becoming dark, and they were originally going to reschedule to come back on some other day. We raised the BS flag on that one, because it wasn't our fault they showed up WAY late. They agreed to come back the next day to finish the job. Some of the things I noticed about the installation was that on the back "sunroom" the gutters were hung at an obvious droop. When pointed out, the supervisor said all sunrooms look like that unless they put in bracing behing the gutters. We asked about the possibility of it and he said it was easy and would improved the functionality of the gutters, so we had them install them. If it's that easy and makes them work better, why didn't they just install them standard? Another thing (and this kinda ticked me off) was that the workers often used the deck railings to step/walk on when installing the gutters. The gutters themselves seem to be of high quality construction and come with a warranty for as long as we own this home. We've had one serious rainstorm since they were installed and they work like a champ. Very happy with the gutters and they look very nice on the house! Impressed with: The gutters themselves. Seem to be very well constructed, durable, and work very well. Not impressed with: The salesman or installation experience.

TC toned down the hard sell. They did ask for my wife to be present, I declined since my wife is not interested, they did not argue. They did do the whole presentation about their company, expect TC to spend 20 to 30 minutes on this part. I actually found it interesting since I did not know their history, but it could be very annoying to some people that just want a quote, not a life story. I found everyone in the company to be friendly and punctual and easy to contact. The down side: very expensive. TC would not replace just my gutters, they insisted on doing the downspouts too, which I don't need replaced. I compared their gutters and cover at the last Home Show, and thought their product looked the most sturdy and effective, but did not realize they were so expensive. I also thought it was silly for them to not give me their best price right away. I felt like I was haggling with a car dealership, which is an annoying way to treat your potential customers. If you are interested in top notch service, you will probably be happy with them. If price is your main concern, probably not your bag of tea.

They wanted both husband and wife to be present for the sales pitch. Don't cancel them because of this, they were accomodating and came out on a Sunday. Don't fall for some of the sales gimmicks, for instance, the price is not broken down and itemized during the sales presentation, it is a total price. Our salesman even deducted the $1500.00 energy tax credit (without telling us) to the total sales price and showed a lower than actual price than what we paid. When I later tried to figure out how he reached his price, I had to call Thompson Creek to find out the individual numbers. If you have buyers remorse they give you a few days to cancel, but they make it difficult, can't be done by phone. Do read the back page of the contract, alot of your rights are here, the salesman got very edgy when I turned the sheet over to read the back. When I told the salesman I wanted to check out Long Windows, he presented a Better Business Bureau rating of the company, and of course it was negative. Then proceeded to tell me how they are filled with foam and that this will break down over time. (did not know if this was true, but check out other companies before you call Thompson Creek) We were sold on the quality of the window before the sales pitch since we had seen their windows at the home show and a friend had them installed at his house, so we put up with some of the polished sales techniques they had. The scheduling for the measurement was misleading. I told them I had to go to work at 1:00 PM so have someone there before 12. They showed up at 12:30 PM and told me the office told them to be there between 11:30 AM and 1PM. I was told that the office is under alot of pressure to get the job moving, so they told me one thing and the measuring guy another. He was a nice guy and agreed to come back another day. Installation is by their own crew, with an english speaking foreman on hand to supervise and answer any questions. This was excellent. They were craftsmen at aluminum trim wrapping and caulking, excellent job. One of the guys even contorted himself under my deck to wrap the trim on my four basement windows. The trim wrap color was a perfect match for my siding. Cleanup was excellent except for one small problem. The next day I found small pieces of glass in my driveway from a broken window. This was sloppy and I pointed this out to the foreman. He was angry, made his men sweep my driveway, took immediate responsibility. Overall, despite some of the small problems I mentioned above, I would highly rate them and use them again in the future.

The salesman was thorough and gave us a fair price although he was too optimistic on how soon they could begin. We called TC because we had used them before for windows and they were excellent. My husband spoke to the person in charge of ordering materials (Edgar) prior to the day of the work and confirmed all the materials needed. However, when the crew arrived they did not have the materials for the soffit work, a key part of the job. They wanted to reschedule rather than make a trip to their warehouse (or the nearby Home Depot) but my husband wanted the work done before the next rain. TC did not want to obtain the materials but pushed to reschedule. After several phone calls (and yelling by my husband) to Edgar and then a VP, my husband drove the crew to Home Depot where the crew chief bought the materials and they worked until after nightfall. However, they did not have the 4 drainguards in the contract, and did not have the correct wood to support the porch soffit and couldn't finish that day. They came back several weeks later to install the drainguards and correct the porch soffit, but once again did not bring the correct wood for the soffit. They came back a third time and did finish the soffit. All the laborers did a good job, however, they had a definite lack of communication from their office on the materials they needed. The poor communication to the crew regarding the materials caused my husband and the workers a lot of aggravation and delay. The job began on March 21 and was not completed until May 6th.

Great service all around from Thompson Creek. Plus I love the idea that I can support a local business, they're based right here in Maryland and make the windows here. Customer service people were great, salesman was really knowledgable, the guy that came out to measure was so helpful, and the installers did a great job and left the house/yard immaculate when they were done! My new windows are such an improvement over my old wood windows - airtight, so easy to open and close. I would recommend Thompson Creek 100%.

My husband and I needed to take care of a lot of home improvement items and divided them up between eachother. My responsibility was to get estimates for window replacements and to make a decision as to who we would go with. When the Thompson Creek salesperson came to my house and learned I was married, he would not start his presentation until my husband got home. He would not listen when I told him that this was solely my decision and that my husband was not interested in attending. He ended up leaving and trying to reschedule for another time. It was very insulting to me that I was treated this way--its not the 1950s after all--and as a result I will never do business with this company. I decided to go with a great installer instead (Nova Installations) and the others that gave me quotes never required my husband to be in attendance.

They did an excellent job. They came to fix a minor problem when one arose. They had very good personnel, we were very impressed. In 2008, we assumed that we could get the tax credit for the new windows, we were only a few weeks away, and we didn't get it. We assumed that it was going to be available in '08, it wasn't, and we didn't find about it until our tax consultant told us--there is no the company didn't know about this.

We are very happy with our Thompson Creek Windows ---they are top quaility and very energy efficient. We also notice how quiet our house has become---no more street noise, wind or rain sounds. Very happy with the windows, they are beautiful. The installation was done in one very long day. We were unhappy with the caulking on a few windows and they are returning to correct until we are 100% happy. Overall very happy with purchase.

After the high pressure sales presentation on Friday, we called and canceled on Sunday evening March 22 and followed with a fax cancellation of the order on Tuesday AM on March 23rd. Thompson Creek sales manager called us and tried to change our mind. We stayed resolute. Thompson subsequently cashed our check on the 25th rather than returning it to us. It is now April 12th, 21 days after we canceled our order and we still don't have our $1,200 deposit back. It is a total scam - stay away, far away. An honest business doesn't need such tactics and certainly wouldn't cash a deposit check 3 days after receiving notice of cancellation.

It was great...I can't say enough about this company...I think it must be a requirement to be a really happy, helpful person to work there. Everyone for the consultation to installation was extremely nice. The work was done in one day!! Every window!! They also really cleaned up when they left. They all seem to be proud of their work and their company.

This company is rude and worthless. Completely unsatisfied. Will NEVER contact or use them again. I gave them a chance the first go around and wow did they drop the ball the second time ...

we live in an older home in the capitol hill area of dc - built in 1892. called to have an estimate on the gutters on the rear of the house. they were very responsive in setting up an appointment and professional when i had to reschedule due to the snow. however, a couple days before the rescheduled appointment i was called to confirm the appointment. at the end of the call i was then told that they do not work in the capitol hill historic district. no specific reason was given, though one person alluded to a 6 month permit process (which i thought was weird since i received my window replacement permit in 2 days).

Despite the late-in-the-year order, they met their promise to get the work done before the end of the year. The materials matched perfectly, although they had to be ordered from a different company. The project manager who came to do the final measure took the time to make sure that he had the right color and style match. The work was done in a day. Very courteous and professional installers working on a high area of the house on sloping ground in very cold weather. Clean-up was excellent. We're very happy with the result. Customer service was excellent throughout.

They were cordial and were on time. The guy who came to do the original estimate was here early. He told me how long the presentation will take. I told him about the Angieslist special and he wasn?t aware of it. He called his manager and he wasn?t aware of it either. However they still gave it to me. I scheduled someone to come out and fabricate the gutters. He came the day before and I didn?t know that he was coming. They called me before they came on the day when they came. Both the guys who worked on the gutters were very knowledgeable and answered my questions. They followed up well which I thought was really good. I would use them in future.

The company had insisted that I be here with my husband for the "estimate." When the salesman arrived, my husband told him we wanted an estimate, not a sales pitch. He launched into a high pressure presentation trying to go through a whole binder of "award" articles and such. My husband continually had to redirect him back to just giving us the estimate. He arrogantly and instently demanded to know how we could make an informed decision without his further presentations and information. I stayed in my office as not to participate in this nonsense. He made repeated requests of my husband to have me present for the "decision making process." It was obvious he wanted to play us against eachother, playing on possible insecurity and fears of potential catastrophic house damage. It took twenty minutes to get him to finally write something. Offering a price over $1,100 for a simple 5' X 5' picture window, he tried to get us to sign up for the job for a discount on the spot without considering any other contractors. Another tactic used was a sheet a paper with a "rebate check" made out to my husband for a few hundred dollars with a place to accept or reject the magnanimous offer. The whole distasteful experience lasted about a half an hour.

We are happy with them. They were willing to come out and do the work when I called them. They were very quick and the quality of their work looked really solid. They were very friendly and efficient. The price seemed very reasonable to me, as I didn't compare it with other companies. I would use their services in the future as well.
