I'm an existing TC customer and the process went smoothly. Only issue which was an annoyance was TC needing to reschedule twice for initial sales appointment. Shout out the salesman Tim Polucha who worked with me and my budget and as an existing customer ( I had 23 windows and new front door installed in July) Tim and TC worked with me to get the deal done. The work was completed three weeks later and now I can watch the leaves come down without clogging my gutters! Thanks Tim and TC. I'm now totally creeked!

The Friday after Thanksgiving was overcast although not raining. They called and ask to re-schedule for Saturday instead. That day was crisp but sunny thankfully. They showed up on time. A nice team and professional. I had warned them a couple of times that when I had made it clear to the salesman that the screen door would require a board or some type of additional base so that it could sit flush up against the trim, not inside the entryway. They built a nice vinyl base for the screen door that matched the door. All the windows went in nice and neat, and we were very pleased. About a month later, we had a nice indian-summer day, and my partner decided to drop down one of the screen door windows to let in some fresh air. The clips that held the upper pane in place immediately broke in her hands on both sides! So we had to let the pane down anyway and it thankfully stayed in place with partial clips. I called and told them what happened and they promised to have a technician come out during the day in two days. The first technician who came out was working on the door and had to get something from the truck. He had not fully secured the pane with the broken clips and it fell, damaging a corner of the metal where the clip is supposed to be. So he told us that he would have to put an order in for a replacement for the pane. When we rescheduled to have the new pane installed, the second technician discovered that the wrong pane had been ordered! I had to call a few times to in the next two months to find out the status of the repairs, as no one called us after three weeks. In those calls I warned them that I had noticed that the screen door latch was also sticking quite a bit when turned in the down position - the normal way to open the door. In fact our two young kids had been having problems entering the door after playing outside. I had to repeat to them to turn the handle "up" instead which did not catch - although they are really not tall enough to turn it up. The down position required pulling on the door hard most times. So I let the company know, and also called the morning of the visit to remind them to tell the technician. As we both work during the day, and that the screen door was fully accessible to anyone, the company said we were not required to come home mid-day to be there when the technician was working. On the day of the repair, I was very disappointed when coming home at night to see that the clips for the window had not been replaced. When I called the company, they checked the service notes and said that third technician had claimed the screen door was locked from the inside and he could not open the screen door. sigh! I asked why my calling twice about the sticky handle had not been relayed to the technician?! This repair had now been going on for two months! Finally after talking with the main manager, they sent the fourth technician out the following day and it was repaired and they had worked on the sticky handle as well. It does sometimes stick in cold weather now, but not as bad as before. So my overall assessment of Thompson Creek was good and I would highly recommend their services. However, I would encourage them to improve on the notes to the technicians the information the customers gives them. Also for the screen door - since they had installed it originally only a few months before, they should have had all the details of which pane replacement in their records - not relying on a technician to get the part right which eventually was wrong.
Description of Work: We own a 3-level brick townhouse that was built in 1972. The windows were the original, with lots of problems. We decided to do some upgrades on the house, and that was top of the list. We went to a home show up in Maryland, and visited the booths of Long Fence, Thompson Creek, and a couple of other vendors. Decided on Thompson Creek after doing research online as well. 13 windows total. Also I have been wanting to get a screen door, and so we ordered one as well. We scheduled with them a bit in advance as we were going on a trip out of the country and wanted to wait till we returned. So made it the day after Thanksgiving. Our sales man detailed all the needs. Another technician arrived about a week later to re-measure everything, as it the usual procedure.

The worst experience I've had with a contractor in many years. They use high pressure sales tactics. I made them leave my home. When I complained to the sales manager he said they don't do business that way. I told him to look at his Google & Yelp reviews because many people are talking about the high pressure sales techniques that they use are like a used car salesman's style & the company may want to address how they train their sales force. At that he had an attitude & said he took personal offense to my comments because he personally trains them. Well, if the sales manager acts that way then it says a lot about the entire company. I was starting to believe him that it was just my sales person until the manager also got an attitude with me. What happened to the Golden Rule & treating people the way they themselves want to be treated? Don't waste your time with Thompson Creek.

Visited the Thompson Creek Showroom and was very impressed with quality of the windows. Spoke to representative who set us up with an appointment to meet with a salesperson. My husband and I work different schedules and it is difficult to meet with both of us at the same time which was an initial problem. The salesman who finally met with us was very rushed and almost to the point of rude which resulted in our deciding not to want to do business with this firm. I hear many ads on the radio and have read ads in the newspaper and feel that the product is a good one and we were leaning towards purchasing this product. We have neighbors who replaced their windows (they felt they were a bit pricey but the product was worth it) but regret that the salesman was a total turn-off. Have read about Joe Dixon and his wonderful sales abilities and only wish we had him visit us for the estimate. We have yet to replace our windows.

I received a call a day before my scheduled consultation saying I needed to call the dispatcher ASAP. I returned the call and was told that my appointment was double booked and would need to be rescheduled. I scheduled this at least 2 weeks in advance and was hoping for them to be more accommodating with the rescheduling since it was there fault. I was offered an appointment 2 weeks later, making me not interested since I need to have a decision before then. I told the operator they 'lost my business' and they weren't very apologetic and didn't try to rectify the situation. I got the feeling they didn't want my business, maybe it's the neighborhood I live in inthe city, but at least be honest. Guess I'm getting another Pella door and they lost a good sale...

First of all, I must say, that representatives of this company are very pushy. The product itself is very good, but costs a hefty penny. The credit company they use is awful, we had to call them numerous times to take off the charges they added, even though the charges were not in our contract. The representative stayed somewhere between long time and eternity at our home, trying to talk us into buying the gutters from TC (NOTE, if you consider this company, by all means, get the estimate from all the others you are considering, then schedule TC to be the last one). Gutters were dropped and installed in a good period of time, no complaints there. Two guys spent almost all day installing the system. Fast forward-Hurricane Irene comes in a month, a huge oak falls on our house and 10 feet of gutters are damaged beyond repair. We call the company. They promise to send someone to look at the gutters. Two weeks later no one comes. Call again. Promise to send someone, one week later a tech comes, tells us that it will be 75 dollars for the new 10 feet of gutters and he will be "in touch with us". Three weeks later no one shows up. I am calling TC again (speed dial by now), speak to the rep named Shawn James, who promises me to send the contract for 10 feet of gutters and invoice for 75, saying that he "puts it in the mail as we speak". I am ready, insurance company is ready to receive the invoice and pay for it, its raining every single day (almost!) and we need gutters! OK, a week later...Nothing in the mail...Wait another week...Still nothing! Mind you, the gutters went down in August, it is the end of October!!!!! I am calling another rep on the phone. She tells me that I have to call back "later". Don't think so. I asked for the supervisor, this is when she put me on hold and eight minutes later finally scheduled gutters drop off and new installation. For November. August-November. This is how long did it take (I do hope they will install and show up) to fix a simple problem. Gutters are great, but service is awful. If I had a choice, I would go with some local company instead. I am not really happy, one should not be calling after paying more than 7 K for gutters for weeks, asking to repair what is damaged. Unacceptable.

We received a call 45 minutes prior to our appointment stating they would have to reschedule. Since this was the second request for a new appointment, we resisted and a salesman came to our house within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. When calling for an appointment, I had to endure countless questions on our availability as well as questions about any possible conflicting activities scheduled for the evening. This questioning was done not only when I made the appointment but when they called to confirm. I was very clear when I called that I was interested in learning about the product only at that time and would not be placing an order without completing my research. I was specific about wanting to know about Provia doors and learned of Thompson Creek being an authorized dealer from the Provia website. The salesman arrived with his information and again, we made it clear we were gathering information at this time. He completed his presentation, answered all of our questions and when we declined to sign a purchase agreement, his attitude changed from helpful to aggressive. He became pushy and derogatory in speaking to us. He was offended when we declined his 40% off offer to lock in pricing for a year. At that point, he packed up his items and practically stormed out of our house mumbling that we wasted his time. I will be hard pressed to do business with this company for anything.

It's been almost a full week since installation, and Thompson Creek remains completely unresponsive to any of our concerns. PLEASE, LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE! Don't pay for a Mercedes and get a Yugo. We were very impressed with the quality of the product shown to us by the salesman. The warranty was impressive and the fact that they claimed they would replace trim and frame (basically everything) sounded great. The salesman assured us that they had received multiple awards for quality and customer service. It was a LOT more than we wanted to pay for new doors ($7150 for three new doors), but we felt that if they were as high quality as we believed, and since it came with basically everything (including a great warranty), we would go ahead and purchase the doors. Installation was set up for Oct. 19 and we eagerly awaited our new doors (the house we bought needs some renovation so we really looked forward to how new doors/frames would improve the overall appearance). We were told multiple times that the installers would arrive between 8:00 - 10:00 AM. At 7:15 AM that morning, our doorbell rang. "At least they're early rather than late," my husband said. It was raining fairly heavily and steadily that day. I was a bit surprised that they continued to install the doors in that weather. On my paperwork, it stated that the installation might be delayed due to weather. I assumed that since they were the experts, it must be okay to install in wet weather. At one point, I noticed that the gentleman (there were two installers) were back in their truck again. When I realized they'd been out there for 10-15 minutes, I figured I'd go look at the doors to see how great they looked while the guys were on a break so I wouldn't get in their way. I walked downstairs to find that they had removed the entire slider, which left a gaping hole in my house, allowing wind and rain to get inside. As they were preparing to leave, my husband noticed that a portion of our carpet near the door had been torn up. He asked them what happened and they wouldn't own up to causing the damage. My husband decided to speak with Thompson Creek directly by waiting for the "Quality Assurance" rep from Thompson Creek we had been under the impression would be there after install. By the way, the installers started work at around 7:30 AM and finished at 12:46 PM, including breaks. We had been told by Thompson Creek that three doors would take all day and possibly part of the evening. Upon closer inspection, we noted that we did not get a new frame nor new trim around the slider and that our existing trim had been damaged. They left garbage in our yard (insulation, door parts, wood, pieces of plastic) and stained the patio with white paint. Our deck was coated in sawdust. The bottoms of the doors were not sealed correctly. The carpet has been torn up near the slider and the wood above the entry door to the garage (which we had been told by both the salesman and the measurement rep would be replaced) was not replaced. When my husband questioned the installer, he said, "I'd just paint it if I were you." We have a security system and the doors are hard wired. Thompson Creek promised that they would remove the wires and leave them easily accessible for our security company to re-wire. The wires are visible off the sunroom door, but not the slider. I had to cancel the appointment with my security company the next day to come re-wire. After the installers left, I found keys thrown on the floor that I assumed went to the new doors. I tried them and they are in fact the new keys. We contacted Thompson Creek right away. I had a tough time getting through to someone. I finally was given the name of our project rep. When I got through to him, he promised he would be out at 12:00 PM on Oct. 20. He said that he would've been at our installation, but they are just so busy...He seemed pleasant and somewhat sympathetic. I sat and waited until 1:15 PM on Oct. 20, at which point I called him. No answer. I called the main line at 1:45 PM and got a helpful girl who said to take pictures and send them to her. She assured me that a "Quality Assurance" rep should have been out after the installation to inspect. I called the project rep back at just before 2:00 PM and he said he had been running late (2 hours late and he never called to tell me he was going to be late). He then said, "how exactly did you get my name and number?" Taken aback, I explained that when I called the main number and got customer service, they opened up my file and said he was my rep. He said, "did you get a call from X? " "No," I said. He then explained that X was planning on calling me... Long story short (I know; too late)...no one has come by to inspect the work. I got someone to put me on the calendar for a Quality Assurance rep for Nov. 3. They say that this is the earliest that someone can come out here. I sent the photos and have not heard back. I know they received them since the customer service rep wrote me and said she was sending them to her supervisor. I am so disappointed that they DO NOT CARE and are not trying to "make this right." I called back Oct. 20 in the evening and asked if there was any way any one could come and look at the doors to tell us if they would be willing to fix these doors or re-install them and I was told "no, the earliest anyone is available is Nov. 3." Interestingly enough, when I contacted them to get a sales rep out here, they had someone calling me back 5 minutes later and could come out the next day if I had the availability. Honestly, I just want my old, early '80s slider back at this point. Update: A Thompson Creek quality assurance representative came to the house last week. He said that they would be out in early December to re-install all doors. He told us to have the carpet fixed and that they would reimburse us for all associated costs. I'll keep you updated. UPDATE: Thompson Creek did re-install all three entry doors to our satisfaction. We were very impressed with the quality assurance representative who came out, as well as the two new installers (who were obviously employed by Thompson Creek and not subcontractors). If this had been our first installation experience, we would've given them a good review and been very pleased with the work. We are happy that they fixed the doors to our satisfaction and thought highly of the second installation team.
Description of Work: The company was hired to install three new doors, complete with trim, frame, locks and peep holes. Two entry doors (one in the sunroom leading outside to the deck & one from the garage leading to the backyard) as well as a sliding glass door from the lower level out to the patio.

We had a very nice experience with the Scott Bujac (factory rep) when he came out to our house to gives us a demonstration and estimate. We agreed on a price and time to do the work. We did not feel any pressure to use their product. (We did get other estimate) The pre installation person contacted us on the day expected to let us know he was coming. He did the measurement and pre-forming of the gutters for the instillation crew. He was pleasant and worked quickly. The instillation crew arrived on the day expected led by Martin. Other than a meal break they worked steady the whole day. I felt they had a high degree of work ethic and professionalism. Martin did a good job of keeping us informed of what was happening as the day went by. When completed Martin did a walk around with me to be sure I was satisfied. I would use these people again.
Description of Work: They removed and replaced all gutters (about 150 feet) with larger gutters and down spouts. This included gutter hoods and larger down spout adaptors to drainage system. Removed and carried away all old parts.

We are very frustrated with the company?we purchased a new entry door?and the issues continue on: wrong product, missed appointments and lack of communication. The original salesman provided us mini-shutters as color samples. We chose the darkest color blue. When the door arrived it was light blue and we were told that the color samples applied only to the shutters, not the door. You'd expect a salesman to know that. We and the installers (whom we liked) quickly realized that the door needed to be painted. Somehow it took 2 hours of frustrating discussion with the ?quality control? rep for him to come to the same conclusion. This was a Monday and they agreed to repaint the door Saturday, arriving between 12 and 4:00. By 4:00 Saturday the painter had not arrived, so I called. The customer service rep informed me that the painter decided it was ?too windy.? Even if true? there was no explanation of why I was never called as I sat waiting for 4 hours. The same customer service rep asked me if Tuesday was good. It certainly wasn?t ?good? since it meant losing time at work, but I agreed if it could be done first thing in the morning or after work. We agreed she would call Monday to let me know whether the 8 am or 4 pm time Tuesday the work would be done. No call, so I called Monday at 1:00 inquiring about the time for the next day. I was told I?d be called right back. Never happened. At 5:00 I called again, since I was not called. I was informed that no work order had been filled out, so I was not scheduled for Tuesday. I asked to talk to the woman I spoke to Saturday and discovered she didn?t work until Wednesday. So her promise to call Monday seemed to be as false as the promise to paint the previous Saturday or Tuesday. The saga continues? And to update. Unbelievably, to me, they just canceled the THIRD appointment to re-paint the door. That's two days of missed work. This time: the "realized the painter isn't even in the area, he's away." Really? You realized that 3 hours after the anticipated arrival time? Again! I think its time to accept the fact that this company is incapable of providing service, fulfilling promises and views customer service as a foreign concept.

I scheduled a consultation for 10/08/2011 for 9:00am. The dispatch manager called the Thursday prior to the appointment to confirm everything. He wanted to make certain that nothing else would interfere with their 90 minute presentation and that all parties would be available. I informed him that my sister, as joint owner, would be party to the decision making process and she may or may not present for the presentation. He then tried to change my appointment because they preferred all parties to the sale be present at time of presentation and that Saturdays were reserved for just such appointments. I was annoyed at the statement and offered to cancel the appointment since without rescheduling, however he said they would honor the current appointment for the chance of competing for my business. By 9:15am on Saturday, October 8thboth my sister and I were waiting, but no one from Thompson Creek had either called or showed-up for the appointment so I contacted the dispatch manager, who seemed surprise that no one had arrived so he asked me to hold the line while he reasearched the issue. When he came back on the line he explained that the salesperson had our appointment listed for 10:00am not 9:00am and that he could get someone to our home by 9:45; 10:00am at the latest. I said no and refused to reschedule. I had other appointments scheduled for work we done on our home and I was not going to allow Thompson Creek to interfere with those plans just as I would not allow anyone to interfere with their scheduled presentation. I was not surprised when they did not show, especially after the hassle I went through during the "appointment confirmation". My time is valuable and weekends are when I am able to set aside time for these services. I was extremely disappointmented. Please do not do business with this company.

The two Thompson Creek salesmen noted that we had the original front door to our house which was built in 1965 and advised that it was letting cold air escape through the bottom. The salesmen said that they had new doors that would provide a good seal and that if we signed up to have it replaced immediately we would be eligible for a 15% discount. I advised that we would not make an immediate commitment but would be glad to have someone to come out for an estimate. The salesmen wanted me to commit to an appointment date with my wife present. One of the salesman become visibly upset rolling his eyes but did call the office. I told the office manager to just email me so that I could give him dates when we would both be available which he did. We set an appointment for 26 September. Thompson Creek called to confirm the appointment but then had to cancel at the last minute. The appointment was rescheduled for 4 October. I received a reminder phone call. The dispatcher said he had to confirm information and proceeded to say that Thompson Creek does not do repairs only full replacement. The front door became an item that I had requested be fixed - I told the dispatcher that I did not contact Thompson Creek - their salesmen told me I needed a new door. The dispatcher said that if I was not intent on commiting to buyingh a new door there was no sense in sending anyone out to do an estimate. I told the dispatcher hat this had not been my idea but the Thompson Creek salesmen. Needless to say the appointment has been cancelled. I found the the Thompson Creek dispatcher and the salesmen to be pushy and not interested in what I wanted - they were more intent in having me to commit to something that I did not even have full information on such as the doors they intended to replace mine with or the price. These people need to get a clue about customer service - I don't care how good their products are if they are going to put words in my mouth and try to force decisions from me.

I called Thompson Creek for an estimate for the windows I wanted to replace. I was very clear on the phone that this was not for a whole house replacement, three windows were a must and a fourth was a possibility, depending on cost. They called back pretty quickly and said they had someone who could come the next day. The sales person arrived promptly and then went into a pretty detailed explanation of the product (heat lamp, etc) as well as background on the company. He asked which windows and was said he was unaware that we were only looking to replace three, possibly four windows. That was a tad annoying since I was very clear with the person on the phone, setting their expectations for what I wanted. He listened to what we did want, then looked at the windows. He gave us some quick insight into where some of the air leakage was coming from and then went through the product Thompson Creek offered. We were definitely thinking this was almost a done deal until he showed us the original price - it was around $6500 for the three main windows and the casement window was extra (appx $1500 - $2000). I couldn't even answer when the sales person asked me about the number. I was amazed that he could even sit there and tell me the number with a straight face. When I basically said he could leave and there was no way we were paying the amount, he dropped the price by 30% but we had to sign that night. We politely thanked him and sent him on his way. The sales person said to call his manager if we subsequently decided to do it. I called the manager the next day and explained what had happened and that if they could give us a slightly better price, we would go with them. He said he would look into it and call me back that day. He never did call back - my personal feeling is that the job was not worth it for them. We then had two other companies come out to give us an estimate -- both were below the price of this company. We went with one that was substantially less and included all four windows and was an equivalent product from what I know. My personal opinion is that the product is really very good but that they are way overpriced.
Description of Work: Was looking for an estimate for three over sized family room windows and a casement window for the kitchen.

We had a representative come to show us options on gutter replacement. We were pressed for a sooner appointment than was best for us, on the Friday night before vacation, and asked to set aside 60 minutes with both my husband and I. Since we wanted the work done soon, we agreed. The representative ended up leaving after a full THREE hours of presentation, much of it fluff. There's no need to have customers guess on prices and discuss what they like most about the product they've only just seen. Most annoyingly, we gave a deposit for the work, arranged for financing and set a date for the project manager to come and take measurements. Nearly two weeks later with no contact, I called and was told that our financing had fallen through. The representatives on the phone were professional and helpful, but I had a hard time believing them when I was told "they were just about to email me" that without full payment in cash they couldn't do the work. We were on a timeline and Thompson Creek cost us two weeks (and three hours of our Friday night) because they couldn't get back to us on financing which we had been told had already been approved. I had to call back because of the slowness on TC returning our deposit. Oh, and to get a discount, TC asked me to give them the names and phone numbers of three friends to solicit. I didn't like that. Seems like a good product, and decent price, but the service representative who came to our house wasted a lot of our time, and did not give us a good impression of the company. Then the snafu about the financing made my husband and I glad the service fell through. Given the choice, I would not deal with TC again.

They were very good and they were right on time. They cleaned up after themselves. At one point, I saw a little tear in one of the screens and they replaced it without hesitation.
Description of Work: I had them install a new window in my kitchen.

Joe Dixon came out to my house on 5/25/2011, he was very friendly, courteous, professional, and punctual. He patiently went through all the options with me regarding my patio door and the cladding of all the 11 windows in my courtyard. Once I decided he gave me his best price for getting everything done. I thought it was a good fair price, and so I agreed to it. What I like about Joe is that he is not a typical salesman who tries to pressure you into making a quick decision. He explains all the options/products that are available and then he lets you think about it. He answers questions that you might have, and then he lets you absorb everything and allows you time to come to a decision. I like his style. The door removal and installation, along with the cladding of the 11 windows took place on 6/17/2011. This date was a lot earlier than I had been told on 5/25/2011, which was a pleasant surprise. The crew consisted of 5 men who were punctual, courteous, very pleasant, and very efficient. They spent a very long day working at my place but they got everything done. They worked very hard. They had laid down drop cloths throughout the work areas and so clean-up was very neat and efficient. At the end a Thompson Creek Work Inspector dropped by to make sure everything was done correctly. Overall I am very pleased with their products and how everything was done from start to finish. I highly recommend Joe Dixon as a salesman and would gladly recommend him to family and friends.
Description of Work: - Removed my existing patio door and had them install a new ProVia Designer Patio Door. - Replaced any rotted wood and then Aluminum Cladded 11 windows in my courtyard.

Overall, the experience was very disappointing. The salesperson was very nice and considerate and we thought it would be good to give a local company the business. A big reason we decided to go with Thompson Creek was the lifetime warranty their products. The problem after the mediocre installation has been the ability to get Thompson Creek out to the home to fix problems and defects. Right now our front door will not open. The bolt will not budge and if you try to turn the key to get it to move you would break the key in the lock. As a result, in order to enter and exit the house, we have to go through the garage. However, this also excludes other people with keys to the house from being able to enter. Thompson Creek's initial solution was to send someone out to the house in 3 weeks. After several calls, I now will have to wait 4 days. It is amazing and disappointing that it takes this long to have someone come out and fix this problem. As I pointed out to them that this is a fire hazard and not a minor defect, which I would be willing to wait a period of time for a technician to come out and fix the problem. The indifference is what I found troubling and I will not use this company again. We will be replacing our windows in the near future and Thompson Creek will not be in the running for this project.
Description of Work: Thompson Creek replaced our front door as well as two french doors in the family room. The installation went ok. The doors were installed properly but the finishing touches were non-existence. The caulking was horrendous and we had to have them come out again to re-caulk. In addition, the spacers in the windows were off and needed to be reconfigured. Plus, they needed to replace a window because it had no been built to specification; it took several weeks to replace.

1st Job- I could not have been happier with the work. Completed in one day and no mess. The job was tricky and I have had no problems with the product. I wish the salesman would have been more clear about my need to purchase diverters and extensions on my own, after the installation. However, that is not a real problem. 2nd Job- The installation was on a Saturday and the crew apparently thought they would be there for 4 hours. There was a lot of complaining when they realized that they would be there 8 hours. Again, the product is superior to others out there, which justifies the price. Recommend buying in the off season for a discount. Even with the normal hiccups when dealing with contractors, the job was completed in one day with no mess left over. Salesman will follow up with house visits. They (and their office staff) are very responsive and polite. They give tiny discounts for copies of competitors' estimates for the same job so call them last and hand those over. The salesman will pressure you to sign up at the initial demonstration (that is on par with this area).
Description of Work: 1st Job- Removed old gutters. replaced rotted wood, and installed new gutter system. 2nd Job- Removed old windows, repaired picture window framing and installed over 25 new windows & one glass door.

I went with my other vetted company
Description of Work: The sales rep came to my home to give an estimate. After a 2.5 hour sales demonstration that included a lot of drama, the estimate given me for 10 replacement windows was over 12K. But that was not the final price.... I felt like I was dealing for a new car with all the special considerations and the three calls to his sales manager. One of these calls was on speaker phone so that I could hear the manager whine about the negotiations as I had a previous estimate from a company I was considering. Their product is a very solid window, well engineered and beautifully trimmed. However, in a middle class townhouse neighborhood with a covenant and architectural committee, they were just not the right window for my home.

Gutters have been a gem. They work as advertised. When called back to include a "slotted" panel over a door because of rain pouring over the edge, they came and did the work within a day or two and I didn't have to be home. Recently, most of the windows in my home were replaced. They look great, but I'm concerned that they fog up on the outside pane whenever it's either very humid or if it rains. The rep came out and said the windows "are doing their job". I told him my old windows NEVER fogged up. I thought this was a sign of leakage. You know, temperature difference between inside and outside, but I thought the gas between the panes was supposed to minimize that temperature difference. Not according to him. In fact, he said the reverse will probably happen in the winter: steaming and fogging on the inside! OH NO IT WON'T! If it does, they're going to have to do something. I don't want steamy windows inside in the winter and then frost forming, etc. To me, this is a sure indicator that there are installation problems. I'm willing to give this some time, however, since a new deck door installed by another company and manufactured by a different company does exactly the same thing. But come winter, nothing better fog up inside or out. This is the reason for my "lousy" review of the quality of the product.
Description of Work: Helmet-capped gutters were installed on several gutters around the house. 25 windows were replace in my 10-year old home. 2 doors are being installed shortly (not included in price or this review).
