We had the guy come out with a sample and a demo; they gave us a great discount. We thought that they had the best windows for us. We have recommended them to other people. We like that they're local. We like the lifetime warranty too - if a screen or window gets broken, they'll be able to come out & replace it. We wish they would come down to Norfolk - we'd definitely use them down there!

Everything went perfectly. From the initial inspection of the windows at issue to the installation, all of the Thompson Creek employees were professional and personable. We would definitely use them again.

I liked the fact everything is under warranty even if I sell my home. The quality of the windows were good and they all seemed to work. They were prompt and friendly even when I had a minor issue with one of the windows. They did have high pressure sales tactics, which I did not like.

I good from start to finish. Arrived on time , gave me good instructions on how to use windows, and cleaned up after the job.

It went well. They were excellent. Everything was done in one day and the new windows have really made a difference.

I made an appointment for an estimate. They called and left messages several times before the appt wanting a call back to their dispatch but without stating why (my appt was on a Monday and I wasn't around the weekend before). On the last one, they said they had to check my address and were pushing to make sure all decision makers would be present. There's no doubt they already knew my address - you could tell when I made the appt they had access to household info. They also knew that I am the only decision maker in the household. Bias against single Moms? Who knows - not getting my business though.

We have had excellent experiences both time. Everyone from the salesman through the installeders were so professional and did an excellent job! We plan on redoing our siding and gutters this summer through Thompson Creek.

Watch out! Their phone staff is incredibly pushy. When you first call there is an automated system and then hold time to speak to an operator who directs calls, you do not get the impression you are calling a small business, but a giant manufacturer. They seem to have a canned speech they need to push regarding their windows, they won't give rough estimates over the phone either (not many do) but require someone coming out to evaluate your property. I agreed to have someone come out to give us an estimate, so I was transferred to their "dispatch" office. This person asked if my wife would be around when the estimator would be coming by, and I said probably not. My wife has a difficult schedule to plan around during business days, and I said since we are very early in our decision making process, we are just interested in rough costs right now. This dispatch operator was adamant that my wife should be there, that this person was going to spend over 90 minutes with me, and design all the windows on his iPad right there. That we could choose materials and colors and many options... "That we wouldn't want to waste anyone's time, and make multiple trips..." I tried to explain that we weren't at the stage where we wanted to start designing windows, but we wanted to hear about options and costs, then decide later. But he didn't seem to get it. We still scheduled the appointment, but after the exhaustion of arguing about whether my wife could attend a presentation to push windows on us, I decided to call back and cancel our appointment. The way this company communicates with their customers does not work well with me, I will be working with someone else.

They took off the old original gutters (from 1967) and installed new ones, covered so no leaves will plug off the outlets. I have several large trees in backyard, one of them large magnolia tree and I always had problems with cleaning the gutters and keeping them open for downpours and snow. The company responded well, fast and kindly. As I was suddenly in a hurry , they responded immediately, managed to show up and do a perfect job in about two days. Unheard of for me. Now a year later everything is still perfect. I would recommend them to anybody! With a smile. (My daughter had a baby in Oregon)

I just love them. If the contractors did anything wrong, they had a supervisor come and check, and if it wasn't right, the supervisor would say that he is sending them back, and he would. They are a local company, and I can't praise them high enough. The price was excellent.

The Thompson Creek representative who came to measure was very knowledgeable and worked quickly. We have shutters on the inside of the window which he initially thought we would have to remove but he inspected more closely and determined there was enough room for the installers to work with the shutters remaining in place. He also worked with us to select the correct color for the replacement capping and caulk. His visit was followed up by a phone call by the individual at Thompson Creek who tracked our install to schedule a time for the installation. Two installers arrived on time and quickly went to work. The install was complicated by the capping but the installers seemed used to that and it was no problem. The window was installed, the new capping was created, the whole thing was caulked in what I thought was a very reasonable time. Very shortly after the installers had left, an inspector showed up. He noticed a minor flaw in the caulking that my wife and I had missed and had it quickly repaired. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I'd call Thompson Creek again for window replacement.

Thompson Creek was a wonderful company to work with. They delivered what they promised and when they promised. We have lived in our house for almost 15 years, but all windows and doors were contractor grade and showing their wear. We called Thompson Creek because my husband had colleagues who had used them and raved about the product and service. A salesman made the initial visit and gave us an estimate, then the measuring team came out and took precise measurements, since our products would be made to order. When installation day came, my husband and I just stood in awe of the precision and capability with which they worked. They were very quick, but also very good, and they left my house cleaner than when they arrived! Our new windows and doors are wonderful! We could feel the difference in heat retention and energy efficiency immediately. I no longer have to wear sweaters when I'm in the house, and we could actually lower our thermostat--which is quite remarkable considering the extreme temperatures we have had this winter. The sliding doors open much more easily than the old ones, but don't have the cold drafts coming through them--and the security lock is much more efficient. Our new front door was the largest expense of the total, partly because the entry door and storm door come as one unit, rather than two. It is much sturdier and actually closes properly, which the old storm door did not do. We couldn't be happier with our new windows and doors, and, once we've save the money, plan to replace all other windows in the house with Thompson Creek. I would recommend this company to anyone needing good quality windows and doors.

We were pleased with both. They framed the door beautifully inside and out. The workers were professional/cheery and cleaned up behind themselves extremely well. Once again the work was professional, done well and we no longer have drafts and the products themselves are beautiful. Well made and very sturdy. I would use Thompson Creek again and again.

This has been one of the best home improvement project experiences I've had! The Thompson Creek team, from sales person to project manager to the actual crew was wonderful! They are super responsive, responsible, punctual, clean and well organized. It's a family owned business that is run and operates better than many larger scale businesses. I can't say anything bad, honestly, other than the initial sales pitch is over an hour, which was a bit exhausting (but it's well worth it to actually see and understand what you're getting for your buck! They manufacture their own windows (customized), which ensures you get the right size window, not ending up with large gaps that have to be filed with foam or otherwise and the cost isn't much more than what you'd pay for pre-fabricated windows. They stick to the time table and keep you informed at each step of the project. NO chasing after them required. They go out of their way to ensure you are pleased. For example: we hadn't noticed that the door handle we chose wasn't marked properly on the contract and asked for it to be replaced. Thompson Creek agreed to do so, as no cost to us, even though they didn't have to. In short, it was a wonderful over all experience and we got what we paid for - and more!

They were amazing. The service was outstanding, excellent. They were professional and courteous. They were on time. What I like the best; there was a supervisor that came by midway through the job and he went through and made sure everything was perfect. If it wasn’t up to his standard they went ahead and fixed it.

It started out fairly well but quickly went downhill when I mentioned I would not be making a decision on the day of the quote and that my girlfriend (who is not on my mortgage but would be influencing the decision) would not be home. The salesman left in quite a hurry after he asked if I could call my girlfriend to see if she could leave work to come home for the quote and I said no. I find this aggressive practice by windows salesman to be quite annoying and I won't be dealing with anyone who enters my home and tries to dictate things to me. I asked several times if he could give me a very rough estimate after measuring just 3 out of the 12 windows and 1 of the sliders. He estimated they would start at around $18k but quickly revised that down to $14k.

Salesman came out to go over options for gutter replacement. Did an excellent job explaining how the system would work and the benefits of the Thompson Creek gutters over competitors systems, although he spent a lot more time than was necessary selling the company as opposed to the product. Installers came out about a week later and toom down the old gutters and installed the new ones in one day. Did an excellent job on the install, everything looks great. Cleaned up everything when they were finished. It has been a few months since the install and after numerous rain storms I can gladly say that the system works great. One thing I have noticed is that the gutter cover system seems to be prone to very large icicles in the winter although I don't think this will be an issue as the gutter system is very sturdy and secure. All in all I would highly recommend this system to others

The Factory Representative came to our house and he showed up on time. I explained from the start that I would not be making a decision immediately as we were going to get multiple quotes. I also told him that I did not want a high sales pressure. Also, we were not happy that the company was insistent that both spouses needed to be present; at least it was a holiday so it just worked out. The salesman told us about Thompson Creek and demonstrated their double hung window features. He measured all of the windows we needed to have replaced (16 in total). He answered most of our questions and he had to get additional information about their windows NFRC rating on air leakage. Once we started to talk about the price for 16 double hung vinyl windows and front door the conversation came to a close. We were quoted $18,055 for 16 installed windows ($1,128.43 per window) and $8,174 to replace the front door entrance door with screen. The price quoted is good for one year. The representative was professional and friendly and he was at our house for 2 hours. From the information provided, their windows seem to be a great product. If the money was no object, I might consider having them in my house. However I could not justify the cost per window. We are planning to go with another company that has a high-quality performance window at a lower cost and is rated highly by Angie?s List and others to install them.

The vist started with a rep coming out explain everything about the window how easy it was to clean them. When i am at home i no longer hear the noise frim out side. This was a great investment! The tech am out on time. The tech's work like a team. My new window give inside and out a awesome look.

Outstanding quality, installation and service.

The original quote was higher, (around 30% higher), but I was able to negotiate to an amount that was affordable for me. Their window frames are much more substantial than local competitors' products, and the warranty is second to none - double lifetime on product AND installation. Each area of the business has a different point of contact so by the end I had 6 names and numbers of people I had dealt with, which is a bit "clunky'. That said, everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional up to the point of the install. The installers, though pleasant in demeanor, were a little rough around the edges and left a few healthy nicks and gouges on the drywall and paint when removing the 20 year-old windows. The Quality Assurance Inspector explained that the removal of metal-framed sashes is much more difficult than wood-framed, and though these were vinyl windows I noted they were installed with metal framing. He and the installation crew repaired and painted most of those areas on the day of the install. One of the installers broke a sash while cleaning it after it was installed. They temporarily patched the broken sash with their signage, (laughably not the best advertisement), and originally stated it would be a week or so before a replacement was available due to the fact that they are "made to order". When I expressed my displeasure about the extended wait time the Quality Assurance Inspector made another phone call and I was eventually told they would be out the next day to replace same and finish the patching & painting. They did come and finish the job as stated and to my satisfaction. Despite a few bumps in the road, overall I am pleased with the product and service and would recommend Thompson Creek Windows to anyone looking to install quality windows.

Really BAD. They did all but the siding in the eaves of our home. After the fact they said it was not included and we needed a second price quote for a small amount of siding. ( Our home is brick all the way around.) They put a sofit in so we couldn't open the back door and left about two inches under the gutter not covered. The man said they were metal and cound not be covered. They are wood- you can see the grain. We never would have given the go ahead on gutters, downspouts and sofits if the small amount of siding was not included. We refuse to pay the balance until all that was promised by the fairly new saleman is installed. We will be buying new doors-we WILL NOT be using Thompson Creek.

This is the third time we have hired them to replace windows in our house since we didn't want to do them all at once. Each time they have come, they have done an excellent job, they clean up after themselves, they put dropclothes down all around their work area, and they work as a team really well. The windows we replaced are some of the original windows of the house, which my father built in 1958. My husband did install storm windows on the outer side but having these new more energy efficient windows have made a world of difference. They are so eay to open and close, you can take them out for easy cleaning, and we have already seen a difference in our utility bills. We cannot wait to complete the windows in our basement...later this year, we'll be giving them a call.

We made an appointment and the salesperson arrived to show us every aspect of the Thompson Creek window and superior their windows were compared to other products. The presentation was very thorough and every question was addressed. We selected the style of window and scheduled the next appointment to have an expert measure each window to ensure a complete fit. The Thompson Creek professional arrived and promptly began taking detailed measurements for our windows. He was courteous and even wore cloth boots to protect our carpets. He answered every question and made sure we were completely comfortable with the process. We then scheduled the installation date and waited for our custom windows to be built. During this two week period Thompson Creek customer service called us to ensure all our questions were answered and to update us on the progress of our windows at their factory. The day arrived for our installation and the instillation crew placed covers over all floor surfaces which they would be walking or working. Each of the workers wore shoe covers as additional protection. The installers were courteous and professional carefully removing the old windows and preparing the areas for the Thompson Creek windows. A supervisor was present to answer any questions or address any concerns. The installers were incredibly efficient and skillful as they moved from window to window. As they were finishing the installation they took great care to pick up and materials and even vacuumed the areas they had worked in. The supervisor walked us through every part of the house both inside and out to ensure we were completely satisfied with their work. Since the installation of our windows we have noticed our home is warmer and quieter. The windows are easy to clean and maintain. The windows have made a complete difference in the comfort of our home. During our experience with Thompson Creek we spoke with their customer service, sales and management. Each conversation was courteous and professional with a genuine concern for our satisfaction.
