Thompson Creek Window Company

I liked the fact that they are local and manufacture their own product and install it. It is their product from start to finish and they act like it. Everything was just perfect and I couldn’t be happier with them. They came in with about 8 member crew and installed all windows in one day.

This was one of several Angie's List companies I called for an estimate for a new storm door. My old door broke in the last wind storm, ripping the top part right out of the door frame. This company was super professional from my first phone call, to the person who came to show me door selections, to the project manager in charge of my installation, the team of installers, then their inspector! The team showed up on time, worked through an issue with damaged wood in my door frame where my old door was, and did an amazing job. Then once it was installed (and trust me, this part was above and beyond any of my expectations), an inspector showed right up and made sure the door was perfect. He noticed some defect in the glsss part of the door which I did not see and orderd a replacement glass part right on the spot. Then he arranged for a date to replace the glass. This company's logo should be - 'You get what you pay for' and I mean that in the most positive way. They were a tad bit more expensice than another estimate but they made this up and then some in their customer service and professionalism. And did I mention a lifetime warranty??? It doesn't get better than this folk!!!

The work went extremely well. They began promptly at 7am, worked through the day and complete the work by 9pm that evening. They used shingles to match our current roof, matched color and trim to our other bay windows and left both the interior and exterior spotless.

It never went since they never showed up for the estimate.

From start to finish the process was easy and proffessional. They come to your home, explain what the offer, tell you the pricing and set up an appointment date to have the work done. The Crew that came was proffessional and they cleaned up after themselves. Everyone we talked to throughout the process was knowledgable and kind. We would definitely use them again and plan to when we have one more window replaced.

I had to have my front door along with the door frame replaced because of foundation settling which made the door frame uneven. The whole process from the estimate to the actual door replacement could not have gone any smoother. They were always in contact with me along the way. The installers were punctual, professional and even should me how the new locks worked. I would definately recomend them to anyone.

The replacement went fine. They were actually employees of Thompson Creek. Unfortunately I have to say this and I do not mean to be unprofessional but it was important to me as I have had problems in the past with other businesses where they did not speak or understand english and I was told that I would have no issues to that effect. However that was not an issue as they spoke and understood english well. It was something that I did inquire about prior to signing the contract.They arrived on time, moved quickly into the job and completing the requested work. They cleaned all areas prior to leaving. I had a problem this past fall with the gutters clogging. They took my service call and sent some one out to inspect and take care of the issue. This was one of the things that I wanted when I purchased from Thompson Creek, life time service without additional cost if the problem was with their system. As far as purchasing the product, I called and set up an appointment. The salesman came to my house. He reviewed with me all my options. Once I settled on what I wanted, he gave me a price. The price was too high. I told him that I would not settle for that price. I asked him to work with his management. I explained to him that I was working with two other vendors. They renegotiated with me what I thought was a fair price. It was not a tense negotiation as you might expect. However I do know that one of my neighbors paid at least $700 more for the same system on the same style of house. I also know that is best to work with them at the end of the month or quarter. You have a better chance of TC willing to negotiate. An appointment was set up sales rep, who by the way did a very good job. He made sure that the job was done to my satisfaction. The only thing that has been a small inconvenience is that Thompson Creek continues to call me for additional services such as doors and windows. I have asked that they stop but they continue. I was very happy with the materials, employee's,follow-up and price. I can live with the inconvenience of asking politely to please take my phone off of the direct marketing caller list.

The company was in constant contact with us about what was to be done and the timing. Then on installation morning, they asked if they could come in the morning instead of the afternoon which worked great for me. The door is beautiful and well made, we were replacing the original builders door which was over 25 years old. Installation went well and was fairly quick. However, this door was to be keyed to match another door. It was keyed however, the instructions were misunderstood. The company stood by the product and will fix the problem later this month. This is the second job I have done with Thompson Creek. We also have gutters and in both cases we have been happy.

Almost perfect. The window measurer guy miss-measured 2 windows so we had to wait for the new ones to be made. All except the two were done on he first day.

I could not have asked for a better experience. I never felt like they were pushing me into anything that I didn't want. They explained everything that they would provide, and thoroughly answered all of my questions. The price was high, but for the quality of the materials, the workmanship, and professionalism of the sales team and installers it was worth every single penny. I would use them again in a heart beat.

The price I got for the windows was good. The crew that came out was fantastic.

It was very good and I was very pleased with him and the pitch and the quote. He assured me everything would be done in a day and it was. They came out exactly when they said and worked all day.

Steve Friedman walked in to our appointment and immediately greeted me with a handsome smile and firm handshake. He was extremely friendly and I never felt like I was being pressured into a sale, in fact his presence was extremely comforting. He offered my family a great deal on a bay window and we signed the deal immediately. In my mom's words: "He made this extremely painless and fun!" I hope all of Thompson Creek's employees are as awesome (and cute) as Steve!

They really have a good customer service and we really like the product. The windows are very nice. They are a little pricy.

The salesperson came on time. He was very nice an easy to talk to. Everything went well until it came down to the quote. I felt pressured when the quote was given, this what turned me off to not hiring Thompson Creek to replace my windows and also I thought their quote was a bit too pricey. They have a great product but their sales tactic was a bit pressuring. Even though I had to option to sign on and cancel within a couple of days but did not feel comfortable handing a check over just to "think about it" and maybe cancel. When searching for a company to replace your windows make sure Thompson Creek is the last company on your list, they don't give you a couple of days to discuss in private to make a decision, it has to be now or never. Thought this was a bad approach.

It went very well. Every one was professional and the quality is excellent. It was also expensive but a price I was willing to pay.

I met thompson creek at a home show. They came out the next day. They require the homeowners (both) to be present, which is a pain in the a***. But, they came on a sunday, 2x so it wasn't awful. they offered a window replacement, I said no. They showed me 3 different prices, I agreed to the cheapest one and they came and installed a new window a few weeks later. The installation was fine, there were some nuance issues in the install apparently, but honestly, I didn't care, the technicians were awesome and professional. They were incredibly helpful and thorough. I stayed out of their way, they worked hard. A manager came out and supervised their work for a few minutes and seeing it was fine left. I was told to call about the new sale they were having and see if I could get a better price on some other estimates I had done. They strong armed me over the phone and sent a sales person to my home. The people on the phone are completely useless unless you are scheduling something. Do not trust anything they say, they will mislead you. They are purely motivated by sending someone to your house, not answering your questions. DO NOT TRUST. I was promised that it was no big deal to have someone come out again and do another estimate on some sliding doors. The quote was "good for a year" so it was no risk. If someone comes to your house they will quote you a 3 prices. The lowest price is good for that day only. If you let them walk out the door you will NEVER see that price again. I was told this in no uncertain terms. This price is today only, and if we leave you can NEVER get the day of price. I was unprepared to make a purchase and I let him walk. Luckily, I did not get any estimates on anything else in the house. Because anytime they write down and estimate it is invalid the moment they walk out the door For Life. You get the normal price from then on. Do Not Call Thompson Creek unless you are 100% sure you want your windows done and you already talked to other contractors. Do not expect them to honor their "best prices". They will only give you stock prices and maybe a sale price at best if you get multiple quotes after they leave. Their window warranty seems great, and I'd love to do business with them. But, I can't stand their staff on the phone unless you are scheduling things. They're sales managers are dangerous to me and frustrating to deal with. The salesman that arrive at my house was incredibly honest and forthright. He was awesome. I will only deal with him from now on. I will never ever call their main phone line again. Everyone that came to my home from the sales guy to the installers was amazing. The company policy is pretty terrible and the phone sales manager was awful. Again, do not call them first. Call them last, which means you might get better deals prices from other people and that's Thompson Creeks fault. I may call them again, but I'll get quotes first from other companies.

The customer service tech was friendly and polite and offered suggestions to assist me since his company could not do the work I needed. (window replacement in a high rise)

Work was done well and professionally. I did have some minor concerns during the job but I relayed them to the crew leader and he took appropriate action. Price is a hard thing to judge with replacement windows. We got quotes from several other vendors and it seems that everyone's windows are different so it is difficult to compare prices from an "apples to apples" comparison.

We called in Thompson Creek to get a quote to replace our windows and doors- they were rated highly and seemed to have a good product. We decided to pass on them because the price/value equation didn't work for us, which is perfectly normal. As others have experienced, they have a really really hard sell. The sales person was nice, but he used every cliched tactic in the book to try to get us to ink the deal right away. He also took up 4 hours of our time, which was painful (since then we instituted a 75 minute limit for others). Given their already good reputation, I think the hard sell hurts them more than it helps. We made the mistake of signing the contract then (we weren't quite prepared for the high pressure tactics), but he said we could cancel if we changed our mind within 4 days. That process went very smoothly, which I appreciate. They seem like a good business, but seriously, take it down a notch :)

No services were performed. Over priced, required deposit in order to lock in lowest offered quote, and sales tactics resembled those from the 1980's movie Used Cars. I'm sure Thompson Creek offers a great line of products, but their in-home sales pitch was terrible and exhausting (over 2 hours long). Not blaming the representative that came to our house, since the out dated/tacky/pushy pitch is probably what they are taught. TC: lose the tacky sales tactics, offer a reasonable qoute that does not require a deposit, and let your quality products sell themselves.

The installation was well done to our satisfaction. |No noted problems.

They were efficient and pleasant to deal with. I had a small problem with the window a year later and they came right out and fixed it. I was extremely pleased.

I contacted Thompson Creek for a repair to one broken section of our gutter. They kept me on the phone for 10 minutes scheduling an appointment and taking information, then informed me that they don't do small repairs but only large replacements like the whole home or one side of home.

I arrived home and my brother told me an unusual story. He said around in the afternoon, he heard a LOUD banging on the front door. Thinking it was an emergency, he opened and saw a young man standing there. The man gave his name "Pena" (last name) and said he was a rep for Thompson Creek Windows. Pena immediately went into a sales pitch--my brother tried to cut him off---he did not want or require the service now...maybe later...but he is not the owner of the house. Pena asked "who is the owner of the house?"=---Generally, this is really no one's business and my brother did not want to share this info. When my brother said no thank you, the salesman persisted by asking "how much energy does the house use and the amount of our electrical bill"? Again---NO ONE's Business!! My brother basically had to end the conversation when the salesman started asking..."when do you want us to perform the work?" ---Even though NO ONE GAVE PERMISSION OR EVEN SIGNED ANYTHING!! My brother basically has to slam the door before "Pena" left a sales door knob flyer. I personally had a very bad experience with another salesman from a window company (not Thompson Creek) and I thought Thompson Creek had a better standing than that with their salesman skills. Please! desist from these methods I DON'T need things happening like this on my weekends!!!!
