Thompson Creek Window Company

Thompson Creek Windows did a very excellent job. They called ahead of time before the appointment. They were very well coordinated. They absolutely knew what they were doing and were very professional. They finished the job quickly and I hardly knew they were here.

I was very pleased with the quality of the outcome of this project. They were very professional and it could easily be seen in the end result. The price was very reasonable and I wouldn t hesitate in using their services again.

The sales representative became defensive and then offensive following a number of questions of a technical nature that he couldn't answer and was not interested in answering. Typical responses were "Why do you want to know that?" (He showed no interest in really finding out) and "Well, that doesn't matter it's only a small [3%] difference in performance." Instead of trying to understand the questions, he overtly expressed his displeasure and inability to respond by saying "I've got to get out of here," as he packed up his gear to leave, totally lacking in customer responsiveness. Needless to say, he instantaneously disqualified his company from consideration as our window supplier by walking out.

Thompson did such a horrendous job, let me tell you. At first the salesman comes out and paints a perfect picture of the company. When they got here, that was not the case. They did not follow through and they installed things incorrectly. I would give them the lowest grade on every element possible.

A salesman came out on a Saturday (which was nice) and presented the Gutter Shutter solution. This was probably the least enjoyable aspect of the entire process. Gutter Shutter is owned by another company and they practice the method of high pressure salesmanship. They originally quoted $5800 if I signed on that day ($7700) would be the cost if I did not. We 'bargained' down to $5,000 and the salesman has to receive approval from his project manager. This transpired over a two-way mobile phone with my wife and I in on the conversation. It was all very scripted. We all agreed to the $5k price, and signed the paperwork. The saving grace of this was that Gutter Shutter has a price match policy. GET ALTERNATIVE QUOTES IF YOU DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO AGREEMENT. BUT DO SO ON OR NEAR THE SAME DAY AS YOUR SIGNED AGREEMENT WITH GS. We received a quote from a competitor but felt that Gutter Shutter had the better product. GS happily matched.

Estimator arrived on time. Though relatively new he was knowledgeable about and able to explain the Gutter Shutter system. He answered all questions. We agreed to sign contract at that time and received a significant discount over the original cost estimate. We also agreed to display company sign in our front yard and to suggest three other potential customers. Not a system I particularly like but it seems to be the standard procedure in the gutter business. Fabricators and installers arrived as previously arranged. Installers were knowledgeable, courteous and quite competent. They suggested several modifications to original plan to assure that system worked well. They worked several days. Cleaned up at the end of each day and when the job was completed. Two days after completion Company rep called to determine any problems and to discuss our satisfaction with whole experience.

Vince came to our house and gave thorough presentation of their windows and answered all of our questions concisely. He then measured each of the windows and worked out an estimate on the spot. There was no hard close or pushiness on his part. Once we signed the contract, another representative came out to do formal measurements for each window. The installation date was set and they actually came on time and completed the job in one day. They also cleaned up after themselves and all of the workers were extremely polite. We are very happy with the result.

The salesman and foreman were great. The product is gold standard of guttering.

They are very good, responsive, and are very customer service oriented. I'm getting other products through them as well. They are very helpful. I wish they did more! They are worth the money.

Thompson Creek came quickly and gave an estimate, along with an extensive presentation as to why their windows were best. Their estimate was the most expensive, but I went with them because I knew exactly what I was getting and I had the same company responsible for every step from building to installing to servicing the window. The others offered separate contractors and manufacturers, and it wasn't always clear which model from "Brand X" you were going to receive. If you visit the NFRC website (www.nfrc.org) to compare windows you'll find pages and pages of windows from the other vendors but just one Thompson Creek window. I like that. The install went very well and they did an excellent job. They definitely stand behind their product with their warranty and guaranteed energy savings. I was willing to pay the extra cost for Thompson Creek since I plan to stay in my home a long time. If you want the best, then I think they're the way to go. UPDATE: It has now been 6 years since our windows were replaced and we've had no major issues. We did have one window stop (prevents window from opening more than a few inches) that broke. Thompson Creek had someone out to repair it a few days after we called w/o any complaints. Overall I'm happy with the extra expense I paid for the quality of the product they installed. Went back to Thompson Creek a few years later for some exterior doors and those worked out fine too.

I found the name by checking Angie's List first. I called to get an estimate and the company scheduled an in-house presentation for me. I was very impressed by the fact that the young man (David Itzel) did not pressure me to purchase the system, and was always concerned that I understood the system. In addition, he made sure I knew how this system differed from other systems. I was sold a second time by this approach. The workers who installed the system were professional and polite as well. When the work was completed, they even clean up and left my yard clean. After several days, I realized that I needed longer downspouts, I called the company and the workers came back and installed longer downspouts at no extra charge! I would definitely recommend them to my neighbors and friends. They also let me use the coupon I had from my Angie's List magazine, which saved me $500.

He then called someone at TC/TGSC. who verified the information that I had. Mr. Enciu quoted a total sales price of $6,900 for a full gutter system but, he said he could reduce the price to $3,300 only if I signed a contract today. I did not accept that, so Mr. Enciu asked me to make an offer. I offered $2,800 that needed to be approved by the office. I signed a contract (which I could cancel within three business days), agreed to make three referrals and write a letter of recommendation (7) days AFTER my job was completed. (3) On Monday morning I hand carried the cancellation notice to TC/TGSC. They had submitted my check and contacted all three referrals.

The quality of the windows was excellent, but the price was just too high for the moment. The salesman was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and accommodating. I would highly recommend this company for any who wants a high quality window and isn't afraid to pay for it.

Absolutely wonderful! The sales representative was very knowledgeable and did not apply any hard-sell techniques. The employees were very helpful, even when I had to cancel my appointment day because of a power outage. They showed up on time, were very polite and professional and made short work of a difficult project. The window openings were not square, but the problem was handled with ease. The clean up was so well done it was hard to tell anyone had been working around the house. I was kept informed of the project while it was ongoing and was given excellent instructions on how to care for and operate the new windows. I have had numerous compliments on the way the house now looks and was congratulated by the historic board for such a job well done. I will sing the praises of Thompson Creek Windows to all of my friends and neighbors and recommend them highly.

We previously used this company and had them install out Gutter Shutters. We were very satisfied with them (both company and product) and are very satisfied with our windows. The workmen for both jobs were courteous, professional, punctual and did an excellent job cleaning up before they left. Three years later we absolutely love the Gutter Shutter system and six months later we love our windows in what is a very cold winter. The gutters cost more than we expected but the windows cost less (and were less than other estimates) so I guess it all evens out in the end! Salesmen were knowledgeable about products. All work done when and as promised. Would absolutely use them again if needed.

From the beginning everyone we dealt with was professional and efficient. The representative who came to measure and give us the estimate arrived when she said she would and gave us complete information on her product. The office was flexible in helping us coordinate the installation schedule with the siding work that we were having done at the same time. Omar and Miguel were there right on time on installation day, completed the work promptly and cleaned all debris before they left.

90% of our experience with Thompson Creek was fabulous and we are very pleased with the windows. They did everything they said they would do when they said they would do it. The installers were on time, installed the windows efficiently, and left the house and yard spotless. We did have a problem with the installers letting our dog out of the yard and throwing debris on the plants around the house, even after we asked them not to.

During the follow up calls we specifically asked if their installation team was certified for lead abatement by the state. We were told yes, they were. After some discussion we decided to contract with this company. And they sent us a contract to sign. The contract said nothing about lead abatement procedures. When we asked about this the sales manager said to Write that in. Then, after returning the signed contract, we received a call from the manager that he was getting different information from the installation supervisor. And would have to call us back. Two days later he called and asked what procedures we wanted. We outlined the state-approved abatement procedures. He called us back again and told us they were declining the job as we were too concerned about the lead. We asked if they were certified or not. This time he said No. Overall we feel this company was dishonest in saying they could do something they could not, especially on an important health issue.

My gutters have been installed for about 3 weeks and there has not been a lot of rain. The gutters look nice and fitted to my house. The first step of the process is for you to speak to a sales rep. I had been looking for a while at different companies and I noticed that they have the same technique. They do a song and dance and say that other company gutters can not compare, and then they start off with a high price for you to start negotiations on. The other gutter places had similar products, but the sales people were jerk. The person that came to our house from this company was very respectful of our time and skipped certain song and dance things. I thought she was very polite and upfront about the long time it will take (6-8 weeks) before the project is done. We put down $800 and gave the rest during the installation. The process maybe took 2 hours, but they would bring all materials the day before. They may want to use some electricity to cut the gutters, but it was OK.

The salesman was helpful and explained everything to me. They have a person that makes sure you are aware of every step of the process. The installers were courteous and professional. My windows look great.

The salesperson who made the initial sale was honest and didn't pressure me for the sale. The windows arrived sooner than estimated, they called and we scheduled the installation for the upcoming Friday and I put in for leave for the day from my job. About 9:30 Friday morning I was called and told one of the crewmen came down with the flu. While sympathetic that these things happen, I wasn't happy that I had wasted a day of leave. They made good on the situation however, they tried to get a crew to come later that day, but, none finished in time. They promised to come early the next morning (8am Sat) and they showed up at 7:59 and worked furiously until they finished at 11:45> I was amazed, they brought their own shopvac, cleaned up everything, helped me put my large pieces of furniture back and were very pleasant and professional. It was a pleasurable experience and all my neighbors were impressed with the look of the windows and how quickly they were installed.

From setting the initial appointment for an in-home estimate to the follow-up calls to the actual installation, everyone from the company was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. They sent an appropriate number of installers out to complete the job in a timely manner and cleaned up very well afterwards.

The only negative in the overall experience were the sales tactics. The salesman started out at over $5,000 for the job. Only after a call to his sales manager was he able to obtain special pricing and lower the pricing to $2,900. Please don't insult me with the sales tactics - just give me everyday low pricing. The installers were very polite, conscientious and hard working. The product is very strong, looks good and performs well in a heavy downpour. Their office contact, Nicole, is a very nice young lady and a pleasure to work with.

It was such a wonderful experience. It was refreshing in today's world. Their customer service was fabulous, they showed up on time. They cleaned up everything. It was very hot outside and they kept working and smiling with no problems. The crew worked beautifully together.

The price was excellent. The service was great. They cleaned up after themselves in the hot weather. They kept in touch the whole time. They made it the least inconvenient to me as they could. They worked with my schedule and I feel like I have a new house without moving.
