They came out and gave me a great estimate

Needless to say, this review is being written long after the project has been completed. That is because I am not good at getting back on-line and writing reviews. I had multiples of reminders for various services from Angie's List so I am including this one. It is by fortune that I don't keep up because it took several months to make observations that would not have been made earlier. Overall, I think this company did an excellent job. I was quite pleased. Scheduling went very smoothly. Andrew was very nice and very professional. They arrived on time. The crew was polite, and diligent in their work, and they left the site clean. They nicely backfilled the grassy edges with topsoil and seed, that grew in nicely as well. After several months, a crack appeared along the seam where the two concrete blocks of driveway joined in the middle . I contacted the company, and Robbin who is absolutely wonderful, responded promptly to my call. I inquired whether I should be concerned, or whether this was a natural occurrence. She checked with Andrew, who said this was not uncommon, but offered to have someone come out and seal it, with no cost, for which I was really grateful. It took a few weeks because of inclimate weather, but Robbin kept in touch and gave me updates. They did eventually come out, and repair it. This is the only point of the work for which I was disappointed. The seam was covered over with sand, for which I assumed that this was for the purpose of protecting the repair and allow me to use the driveway at the same time. It took several months for that sand to wash away, which revealed the repair. The repair was poorly done. It seemed that it was done in a hurry, perhaps with a putty knife. It was not done smoothly, and rather sloppily. I was sorry that I didn't just live with the crack. I was really surprised, since the initial job and been done so well, and it seemed that they were okay with coming out to fix it. It had not been presented as a complaint. If I had thought that they were less than pleased to come out, I would have been willing to pay extra. It would have been worth it, to have it done well. Therefore if there was a grade in between, I would have given it. However, I did want to give credit for an initial job well done, and to give credit especially to Robbin, who was great to work with.

I contacted this provider in early September and asked them to come to my home to provide me with an estimate on the repair of the concrete steps and walkway at the front of my home. We scheduled the appointment for 12 Sept however the provider never showed up and when I phoned them to ask why I did not receive a return call. Horrible service!

The job done was timely and professional. I would recommend this company and use them again if needed. They corrected two water drainage issues for a competitive price: Andrew understood our concerns on price and proposed a cost-effective solution.

Every time I tried to communicate with the guy, I had trouble. I knew the work didn't look right and the guy said he'd come out and look at it and he never did. The concrete for the porch is not level. Another contractor came out and looked at the work and told me it was uneven. They never corrected the problem. They shouldn't have taken the job if they weren't able to do it right. They said there were certain things that needed to be done, and they never did any of those things.

Three man crew arrived around 9AMand broke up the existing landing and sidewalk. Old concrete was moved to their truck for removal. Expansion joints and control joints were put in place. New concrete was poured for the landing and sidewalk. Rain had started by this time and the crew put up a tarp over the work area and protect the new concrete. Crew put up caution tape around the work area and left around 3PM the same day. They returned around 8:30AM the next day They removed the rain tarp and the construction debris. Grass seed was placed around the work areas and then covered with straw. The crew left less than an hour after they had arrived.

They did a very good job. The people were good. Everything they did was good.

It went very well. They came on time and I am happy with the results. My only concern is that they drove their equipment over the damp lawn, tearing up the grass and leaving mud ruts. Before they left they put down grass seed and straw and included areas they had not damaged, so they did respond to my complaints. I suggested they bring plywood or cardboard next time to create a "road" so this does not happen again.

It couldn't have gone any better! They needed nothing from me, and worked as a cohesive team. They left no messes, ad nothing had to be cleaned after their departure. I think they were GREAT!

FABULOUS job! Highly recommend. Came promptly and gave an estimate, that we were shocked how low the price was. This problem existed when we purchased the house but we did not notice it, and we had procrastinated getting it fixed because we figured it would be over $10,000. When the estimate came in at $3,893.00 in 3 payments we were ecstatic. Very friendly office staff. Emailed contract and we were able to sign scan in and email back. Installation started on the date we selected and to our utter shock was FINISHED IN ONE DAY! woohoo!! Day 2 they removed the forms, put down the seed, put columns back, caulked and painted the tops.... PORCH LOOKS LIKE NEW! We have been in the house 15 years and had NEVER seen how the porch originally looked when the house was built. we are soooooo happpy!

The workers from Lanham consturction company arrived on time and completed the job within four hours. We are very pleased with their service and professionalism and highly recommend them to anyone requiring the services they perform.

Lanham gave a very prompt and fair estimate and was able to start the work within the month. Communication was generally good except the the on-site workers did not speak much english. Workmanship seemed excellent. Care and thought seemed to go into most steps of the process. Cleaned up quite well. Final result exceeded our expectations in terms of how the patio looks!

After having to replace a contractor who had overestimated his ability to do this job, it was a great relief to find Lanham construction on Angie's List. Lanham Construction was clearly prepared for this job -- they obviously do this type of work day in and day out. They are pros. Everything from the estimate to the final product was handled with regard to us, the client. The estimate was clear and detailed and included items I didn't even know to consider -- such as how the edge of the concrete would look where it was above grade and the quality of the concrete to be used. On the scheduled day, they arrived on time and Andrew spent an hour discussing the job with my husband to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were impressed at how they drilled into the existing front stoop to insert rods to hold the new sidewalk in place, and at how they re-barred the entire length of sidewalk. They were respectful of the property laying plastic drop cloth in the area of the concrete truck. Lanham construction re-graded the area, added topsoil, and new grass seed where they had worked. They even shored up the side of our front stoop where erosion had decayed the ground exposing the area under the stoop. This was a professional job -- this company knows how to do this. And the price was reasonable. I definitely would work with this company again.

They were fairly priced, arrived on time, and worked quickly. The next day they came and cleaned up after themselves and re-potted one of my plants. Also, after accidentally digging up one of my plants while working, they gave me check to replace. Overall, I was very impressed with their customer service. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

We were very pleased with the result. The project was done in an organized fashion. Andrew and Robbin were easy to work with and always available to answer questions. Andrew came out several times at my request prior to the project starting as I changed my mind about what I wanted to have done. They had to start on a day with no rain and cleared and framed the walkway. Then they poured the concrete from a truck. The next day they laid the flagstone and trimmed it up to get the curve that I wanted. A couple of days later they acid washed the new walkway and replaced the rotten columns and boards, it was very nicely done.

Works arrived 15 minutes (7:45 am)early on appointment day, and immediately got to work. By 3pm that day, new patio was complete, They came back the next morning, removed all equipment and replanted some grass seed where they had dig things up. New patio looks great and properly drains away from the house. We are very happy with the work done and finished product. Would highly recommend the Lanhan Construction team.

They did the job on time and to specifications. They followed my husbands guidelines. He wanted a low rise steps. They cleaned up afterwards and put down grass seed. They didn't leave a mess.

We contacted Lanham Construction to do this work because they had done support work on the house for the previous owners several decades ago. We left several phone messages before we were contacted to schedule an estimate for the work. After considerable delay, a representative from the company out to look at the work, quoted us what seemed a reasonable price, and told us they would call back to schedule the work. Besides the foundation repair, they were to reconnect a broken lolly support and lay a 6 mil vapor barrier over the crawl space. We wrote a check for the required 1/3 of the balance. After nearly a month, and multiple phone messages, the company finally called to schedule the work, for something like two weeks down the road. The day before the scheduled work day they called and changed the appointment to the following day. The workers showed up on Thursday with a supervisor and began to dig around the foundation and dismantle the siding at the base of the house outside the damaged area. They all spent a great deal of time looking at everything, walking around the house, going in and out of the basement, etc. At the end of the day, the lolly support was fixed and the vapor barrier was laid and some preparation for repairing the foundation sill was begun. The workers said they would come back the next day, Friday. They did not show up nor did they show up all the following week. We called and left yet another message and a week later received a letter, informing us that as the construction of our house was balloon style as opposed to the more common platform style of framing, they were not qualified to do the work. They returned our original check with that letter. Seems to me that the person who made the initial assessment should have, given the age of the house, at least asked about the framing if unable to determine on visual inspection. Though given the fact that there were open walls in the house -- due to an ongoing remodel of the kitchen -- I'm not sure why the framing style was not noticed in a visual inspection. Our grade for this firm reflects that, while the price asked was well within the bounds we thought it should be, the response time from first contact to last was ludicrous. In addition, the person giving the original estimate was either extremely careless in his inspection or not qualified to do the job in the first place.

This was a large and complex job and in the estimating phase there was a lot of back and forth. Occasionally waited for the next round of estimates longer than I wanted to. Of the estimates we got, this was the only person who suggested and included in the estimate some regrading and adding a small berm to better control the drainage. Work was done with high quality; crew was neat and cleaned up after themselves. Owner was frequently checking on the progress of the work and any changes that we needed were made. After completing the work, we had only one issue with a small area and the owner came quickly to look at the issue and sent a crew the next day to fix it. We appreciated their work.

Andrew was a little delayed in getting back with me on my estimate, but Robin kept in informed. Overall it was a great experience with Lanham Construction Company. I would use them again.

The work was spectacular! I originally thought it would take 3 to 4 days to pull up the old walkway and pour the new one. To my very pleasant surprise, it only took 1 day! Everything was done yesterday and the crew came back today to landscape - it looks WONDERFUL! All of my plants have been put back in place, there is new mulch on the ground and the lawn has been reseeded, with a protective layer of hay on top. I could not be more pleased with the service I have received from Lanham Construction, and would give them the highest recommendation.

. I thought the price was probably right. He did concrete work for me in another location also. I will use them in the future.

They came in with a crew and took the old sidewalk out and then they put the new side walk. They did a nice job. It is somewhere around 22 feet long. They replaced the sidewalk. The previous sidewalk had cracked and the water had gotten underneath it and frozen and shifted it. They did an excellent job. They took all the old cement out. Then, they kind of graded it. They put new cement in and they did exactly the way that I wanted to and exactly the way the guy told me it would be done. They changed the pitch a little bit because the water would run better away from the house. When they were done, they also finished the edges around where the grass had been disturbed. They put down grass shades and covered it up with a yellow tape. They did a real nice job.

They were professional, punctual and their quote was informative. Their price was top there. We did not choose him because we decided to delay the work till next summer. They were great and I had no complaints. They called me back for an appointment and came on time.
