everyone was amazing, from the initial sales order all the way through installation. The installers went the extra mile to replace my granite dinning room table top. I believe his name was Eaon. Could not believe his will to complete the install. Could not say enough good about everyone though, simply a great Company to deal with. Also, the piece of granite I found from them for the price, :) BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you again, Origins Granite

My wife and I wanted to replace 4 hard to clean kitchen counter tops with smooth soap stone. Saw the Origins shop from the road and on a whim decided to stop in and check their selection and prices. The office manager, Cheryl, answered all our questions and brought up issues we hadn't yet thought of (like what type of new sink did we want (undermount, drop in, dual mount, farmhouse, etc.) and the pros/cons of each). She knows the business and gladly answered our questions throughout the process. We stopped in the showroom in late November and had the counters installed about two to three weeks later. We were also given the opportunity to select a particular slab of soap stone from their supplier in Maryland but opted not to. We had the option to purchase a new sink/faucet from Origins but decided to buy them at Lowe's. No particular reason for this. I'm sure the Origins-provided sinks/faucets would have been fine. Origins' counter top / installation prices were very competitive and was thousands less than the one other local provider we called. The measurement technician who came to our home, Grace, and project manager, Chris, were very professional. Installation for the 4 tops took about 3 - 4 hours and the installers arrived on the early side of the delivery window. Besides the tops they installed our undermount sink and created holes for the new faucet and soap dispenser. Again, very professional service. In my experience you can tell if a company is good to work with (or not) by their willingness to thoroughly and promptly answer a customer's questions. Origins passed with flying colors and I would not hesitate to recommend them and use their services again. Thank you!

This review is for the new store that Origins Granite has opened in Charleston WV. We bought our countertops there in November. The guy who came to measure was 1.5 -2 hours late because the company has his appointments scheduled too close together and they don't allow for driving time. We had to call to make sure he was still even coming. The company here uses their guy from Maryland to do the measuring. Then the counter tops were to be installed on Thursday 12/3/15 @ 9:00 AM. We received a call at 8:10 AM that same day stating they were not coming after all. First we were told that the truck had broken down and then we were told that they didn't even have the granite in yet. My husband teaches school at a Vocational Trade school so for him to get off work is a pretty big ordeal. He complained and then we received a call from the Maryland office that the installers had been asked to work on Sunday to put in the granite so no more time off work would be needed. We agreed and it was set for Sunday at 9:00 AM again. You guessed it - 9:00 AM came and went with no installers and no call. Finally a little after 10:00 AM we called and left a message because of course the store is closed. Shortly afterwards a call from the installers was received. They had just been sent the email earlier that morning about the install and had not been told that it was to be at 9:00 AM. They came at 11:30 only to temporary set the granite in place because their truck was still broken down and they did not have any of their tools (still in the broken down truck) to properly install the granite. They are supposed to come back on Tuesday to properly install the counter tops but time will tell if they really do on that day or not because you see we aren't on the Tuesday schedule. Everyone kept talking about the manager, Jennifer, who as of yesterday we had NEVER heard from not even to apologize for all the errors and inconvenience. The price was great for granite but I am now questioning the warranty because of the poor service and lack of proper and accurate communication. I would recommend them at all. Pay a little more from a more established and reputable company.

We stopped in the showroom one day this summer when we were thinking about starting our project. Even though we just walked in without an appointment, Cheryl took the time to meet with us and answer all of our questions. We found granite that we loved and because there was a good sale that was ending soon, we purchased the granite. Cheryl wrote the very detailed quote and allowed us to take the wall sample so we could match carpet, tile, etc. to the granite. She gave us specifications for the sink, since we were purchasing that separately on our own. We had only looked at granite one other place before we purchased but did a little bit of research after the fact and found that we got an excellent price on the granite. When we were ready for the measurement, someone (I can't recall her name) came to our house, set up all her lasers, and took exact measurements. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. We ended up adding approximately 2 sq. ft. to the original amount we purchased but since we changed the sink from an undermount to a drop-in, the price change was a wash. We did not owe any additional money and there were no hidden fees we had to pay. Everything was very clear and up-front. The granite was ready approximately 2 weeks later. The installer, Rich, called ahead and arrived with his team to install. He was very nice, professional, and really knew what he was doing. It only took a couple of hours to install. The granite looks absolutely beautiful! Every employee that we worked with was helpful, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Of all the companies and people we have dealt with through this remodel, Origins was by far the easiest and least stressful. Everything exceeded our expectations. I would DEFINITELY recommend Origins to anyone thinking about granite (or any other surface they offer.)

I love my counter I received from Origins Granite. The stone is so beautiful and the layout looks great! The seam is exactly what we were hoping for, and one of the reasons we went with Origins Granite over their competitors. Our sales person, Cheryl Morchesky, from the Greensburg Office, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She met with us on several occasions just to make sure we understood and were happy with our choice - that meant a lot. It did not take long to receive our layout plan and for installation. The installation process went very smoothly and everything looks fantastic. I would definitely recommend them!

I was initially pleased with the job, the countertop was beautiful. Within two weeks of installation I noticed a sizable stain near the sink and inquired via my sales representative to make sure the stone had indeed been sealed as promised. I was assured that it had been sealed and was given instructions to apply a baking soda poultice to draw out the stain, this was fairly effective after several applications - the stain is still visible but not nearly as dark. Within a week of this incident I noticed a crack in the stone behind the sink, the crack was about 10 inches long and could be felt. Strangely the crack is not in the natural grain lines of the granite. After several persistent calls and messages a service call was scheduled. By the time the installation/repair team arrived, the crack was nearly a foot longer as when it was originally reported. Luckily, I had pictures. The repairman was equally puzzled by the direction and increasing length of the crack and called the the head of production to report his findings. He was directed to try to fix the crack by applying a sealant of some sort and buffing. His efforts were unsuccessful as the crack was still visible and apparent to the touch. Obviously this is not an acceptable situation for any product. Over two weeks has passed with no solution or plan to replace the defective product. So much for the 15 year guarantee - I can't even get anyone to call me back and was actually told by Debra, the "customer service representative" that she was not permitted to provide customers with contact information for anyone else in the company. Seriously? I suppose if this forum is to provide the service we all signed up for members must share their experiences. I sincerely wish I wasn't posting this review. We all know things happen in any industry - it is the follow up that matters most. As far as i am concerned a phone call and a willingness to rectify situations is all it would take to maintain positive customer relations. I would caution those of you interested in new countertops to look elsewhere.

Response from Origins Granite
[Member Name Removed] Sorry that you felt that payment in advance wasn't something that you were comfortable doing. Like many other companies, we require that payment be made at the time the order is placed. In some cases, particularly when a customer's isn't ready to be templated but wants to reserve material, we make accommodations to take a deposit with the final payment being made once the order is ready for production. I'm sure you'd agree that most vendors would not ship an order for a dishwasher or major appliance with only partial payment. Custom countertops are even challenging, since the product is entirely custom and not something we can "put back on the shelf". Although there may be some custom countertop companies that have different payment terms, our payment policy is similar to most other retailers and vendors. We strive to offer customers great value and features that are unique (such as our Microfit seams, which we guarantee to be nearly invisible). We also accept a wide range of payment options, including every major credit card, which gives customers security and confidence in their purchase. While I'm disappointed that our policy that requires payment prior to production was the reason you decided not to make your purchase with us, I hope you understand that the policy isn't very unusual. I'm sure you would have been completely satisfied with your countertops and our team if you would have decided to purchase from us, but giving us a poor ratings because you decided not to purchase from us due to our payment policy doesn't seem terribly fair. I would really appreciate updated ratings if you agree.

Description of Work: We saved for a long time to have countertops replaced in our kitchen. They broke a large island piece and never told us. They tried to replace it with a piece that did not match the perimeter. They were deceptful and dishonest. Cannot be trusted. We are stuck with granite that we did not chose.

One of my initial concerns were that my backsplash my be damaged during the installation since I have ceramic glass tiles currently. The installers did an excellent job and not one tile was broken or scratched. I am very happy with the service, quality, price and final finished product in my kitchen
Description of Work: My experience with Origins exceeded my expectations on the installation of my new granite countertops. I deciced rather quickly that I wanted to replace my kitchen countertops and stopped by the Origins Store in Upper St. Clair. The Sales staff was very helpful and actually came out to measure that day. I placed my order and within 3 weeks I had a fully installed countertop.

We purchased countertops from Origins Granite in Greensburg, PA because we liked what they said- Quartz was non-porous and did not stain and Origins used a ?micro-seam technology? where you could hardly see the seams. On December 17th, 2014 Origins Granite installed quartz countertops they purchased from CeasarStone USA. During the installation, marks on the countertops stuck out. I questioned the installers about the marks. They stated they would clean them once the job was complete. After the job was completed, the installers attempted to clean the countertops. It did not work. There were marks that would not come off despite their attempts. Two days later, they returned with a different cleaner. Again, the marks would not come out. Five days later, the manager at Origins Granite Bob Stoffer and employee Alicia Monahan, came out to clean the countertops with five different cleaners. Despite their attempts at cleaning, the countertops have shadow type stains all over them that do not wipe off. The marks do not go away once cleaned. That wasn?t the only issue- the installation by Origins was unacceptable. Origins did not explain the micro-seam technology was for GRANITE only and not for quartz. The seams in our countertops look horrible. After the job was complete we were told the micro-seam technology only applied to granite, (which should have been explained before the job) and admitted a grey adhesive should have been used, instead of the clear adhesive used on ours. When we asked the installer why he used the wrong adhesive, he simply stated that he didn?t have the right one. Even with the installers coming back out to try and trying to put grey adhesive on top of the existing adhesive, the seams look sub-par. In addition- the installers had to dremel the sink as they installed the quartz over the faucet hole, the installers did not show up when promised (scheduled for 10am, arrive at 3:30pm)- I am floored these were their best installers. Even the overhang on the island was not uniform and we were told that it was our fault since we approved the layout. January 13th, Origins processes a warranty registration for Ceasarstone. They state their focus is on the stains first, and then will address the seam issue. Six weeks after the registration is processed, Lauryn Tannis from CeasarStone comes to our home. She attempts to clean the countertops with 4 different combinations of cleaners and is unsuccessful. She stated ?she has never seen this before? and would be processing the claim through CeasarStone. We continue to attempt to get updates- Lauryn states Origins will be contacting us, but we never hear from them- we place repeated calls to the office, to Bob and do not receive a response. On April 2nd our patience expires. We go to Origins?s office to get a resolution. We leave a message- again- as the office was closing and the appropriate people were not there. We receive a call back that evening from CeasarStone?s Peter Komorowski . He states that it is CeasarStone?s job to get back to us. After explaining the full scope of the issue, Peter does not seem to be able to put himself in the customer?s shoes- if this was his kitchen that has sat unfinished over Christmas parties, birthday parties and Easter celebrations I would hope he would be as livid as we are. He promised to call us back in 24 hours and it?s been two weeks and still no call. I contacted Lauryn again- she states a conference call is being held to discuss the issue. That is the last we hear of anything. So here we go again. I have contacted Lauryn from CeasarStone and my husband has called Peter- no return calls. We still do not have resolution. CeasarStone is not responding to us, nor is Origins. Our kitchen has been unfinished for four months. This has truly been a horrible customer experience- we took our time researching companies, comparing prices and finding just the right look for our kitchen. I really regret not picking another company for this job. Do not use Origins- they are the middle man and DO NOT FIGHT FOR YOU. They tried to wash their hands of this situation and do not give any weight to the seams, the wrong fit of the sink and the HORRIBLE customer service we have received from their company. There is absolutely no sense of urgency on their part- there are SO MANY companies that offer granite and quartz- please go to one of them!!

Response from Origins Granite
We are equally frustrated with the situation. [Member name removed] was dissatisfied with the Caesarstone Quartz material because of hard to remove marks on the product. [Member name removed] filed a warranty claim with Caesarstone, the manufacturer of the quartz material, which has taken Caesarstone some time to address. The countertop product is one that provide as a special order but is not one of our major quartz lines, so we have very little input or leverage in any warranty claims. Since the claim is between [Member name removed] and Caesarstone, we don't have a way to be directly involved in the resolution, or the time it takes to resolve. Caesarstone sent a rep to evaluate the issues, and the rep cleaned the countertops and removed the blemishes on all the tops except for the bar top. Caesarstone has thus far indicated that they feel that the claim is not warrantable, but offered to send a service technician to clean the bar top as a customer good-will accommodation. [Member name removed]'s kitchen is quite large and has 3 full-length seams as well as bridge seams around the cooktop. All the full-length seams look great (particularly since colors like Caesarstone Concrete, which is a flat and uniform gray, make seams really difficult to hide). Cooktop bridge seams are more difficult to set and are inherently more visible. However, since only 2" of each seam is visible after the cooktop is installed, they are still commonly used in layouts. [Member name removed] sent us pictures of the seams around the cooktop, which are more obvious than the full-length seams but are within norms for the product and the industry. We've offered to go back and reset the seams around the cooktop. We're still working with [Member name removed] and hoping that this issue is resolved to her satisfaction.

I researched various types of kitchen countertops for a while, and chose quartz instead of granite because the prices were comparable, the color pattern was more consistent with quartz (without picking out a particular slab of granite), and I did not have to consider future resealing as a possibility. I also considered several different vendors and received estimates. Then I entered my request online with Origins Granite, which was recommended by others on Angie's List, and immediately received a call from them. They sent a representative to my home that brought various samples. I decided to use them because the price they quoted me was all-inclusive and better than previous estimates, including all the plumbing work, new sink and edge cuts that cost extra with other vendors. The only thing that I had to purchase separately was the faucet; they used the model number to fabricate the holes needed in the countertop. About one week after signing the contract, they called to say my color choice had become unavailable. They presented three other choices but recommended one of the three as the closest to my original choice. I agreed and immediately realized from my previous research that it was from a more expensive manufacturer. They assured me that my original price quote would not change. They took care of everything: measurements were taken and installation was completed on the date I originally requested. I am very happy with the outcome; it is a great match for my kitchen. All of the people I dealt with at the office and in my home were very accommodating, courteous and professional. I would highly recommend this company to others.

It went well considering you do not see the actual slab before purchase. I understand why, but it is hard to get the exact granite when getting exotic granites. They will ship some down for you to actually look at and I recommend that. After I saw the slab in person, I was extremely happy. I like how they work with you and get you a layout of what it will look like with the slab you choose. There is a two week turn around time, which was fine with us, as we were waiting for our cabinets to be installed. Jennifer was so helpful and didn't mind every time we checked in to see how things were going. She made you feel like she was glad to work with you, unlike the big box stores. The installers were very professional and made sure everything was done perfectly. The lead installer was also very knowledgeable. They arrived at the time promised. We paid 4200.00 for the granite and 450.00 for a chefs sink. I love both the new granite and the sink and would highly recommend them.

They were excellent. They did an excellent job. We were very pleased. There was a mistake and it was my husband’s mistake and they fixed it and credited the account. The 2 guys they sent out to do the work did a wonderful job. They were very helpful and explained everything as they did it. They were just so helpful. They were not pushy and answered any questions we had. They gave us lots of choices. They were just wonderful. They were cheaper. They came out early.
