SMO

I used them for years. They are very dependable, on time and took excellent care of all my heating and a/c needs. I stopped using them when I relocated to Florida. The work was done in my home in Maryland while I lived there. I used them for over 25 years.

Arrived as scheduled; performed necessary services. SMO is my own selection from 15 years prior. I did not locate them on Angie's list.

Other than some issues with the spoil dirt, it went just fine. They installed the tank at the location agreed upon and after the plumber completed the hookups to the house and tested same, provided the initial fill. I would both use them again for similar work and would recommend them to a friend. We researched local providers carefully and they were the best of the lot

They're a very good company to deal with. They gave me 3 quotes and at their time, they were the best.

SMO's sales representative was very professional, very nice and very informative. The installer, I was not really pleased with. I probably wouldn't use them again. They didn't go out of their way to hide them, in fact they're in plain sight in our house. When I asked them about it, they said it couldn't be done or it wasn't feasible or if it could have been done, it would have been more work but they could have said this is going to increase the fee. The office representative painted a different scenario and that often happens when you talk to a representative from that office and then the actual people come out and do it and they're like, they think we can do that but we can't. In this instance, I really felt like the effort wasn't put forth so I wouldn't really highly recommend them, actually if I could do it again, I would choose another company. I think we sued them originally because the people we bought the house from I think they used them for oil delivery but they sold the oil tank and it had to be pulled out of the house and they weren't installed so that right there shold have been a warning to me. The house was empty so in all honesty, it could have been an easy error that could have been fixed, they didn't tell the oil company so that's not really their fault, I understood that. The thing that stood out to me the most, I really thought I was going to have a great job because the sales guy was awesome, just make sure they ask all the pertinent questions. When you spend that much money, you kind of want to make sure that it's done correctly. I don't think we have any problem, so I would say construction wise, it was okay, it's just that it's ugly. They didn't go out og heir way and specially I've had other installers do other things and he's say "can we do it this way because I really don't want to see it" and I'm like "sure of course, no problem." The office person was quality, the installers were taking short-cut which is not how it came across in the contract that was given to me. Price was right on top of everything else and their punctuality was fine. I'm locked in for a year for fuel from them but I wouldn't use them after that.

We've been using SMO basically ever since we moved here which was about ten years ago. They can come out for an emergency call. They'll come out to check on that. Other than that, we had to pay for parts if it turns out that something is broken or needs to be replaced. It's costing us very little because we do the twice a year maintenance. It's basically in good shape. I had very good interactions with them. I can call them for an appointment and they'll put me on the calendar. I can also go online and do it myself. They're very responsive. I asked them to find me a slot in the morning rather than in the afternoon, they have been very accommodating. They have done that. They will call me an hour ahead of time when the guy's on his way. They'll leave a message when they don't get you so I know that I have a pretty good idea of when someone will show up. It's as much as I can ask for. I'm pretty happy with that. They did well and they're pretty nice. The technicians would come out and they have the same people. They're very pleasant and good-mannered as well as efficient. They do their job and they get out. They don't hang around.

I think SMO were pretty knowledgeable.

SMO always has courteous and professional service people that show up to my home. They are more than willing to describe to you what is wrong as well as the pros and cons to fixing, repairing or replacing an item that needs attention. The price seems a bit high but they always do a through job and never seem to shortcut on anything so when they leave you know you got what you paid for and not just someone trying to get in and out to the next job.

They were out numerous times trying to figure out what was causing it. They finally decided that they needed to replace the furnace and that would fix it; it did not fix the issues. My mother followed their advice and replaced the furance because they are the experts. And now it is still going on and they area saying it is in the duct work and it is not their responsibility. They haven't solved the problem at all. My mother finally hired another company come out who discovered that a coil in the A/C was not cleaned or replaced when the furnace was replaced. The coil is in terrible shape and needs cleaned; along with the rusted out drip plate below it; which area more than likely causing the odor issues. She took this information back to SMO and they refused to believe what the other contractor was saying and arguing with her constantly. They finally said they would come out and clean the coil; but I do not believe they will do it and suggest that they should replace it instead. When this company was owned by Mr. Beshee it had a wonderful reputation but now that the company has been sold that reputation is no longer valid.

SMO was our heating oil provider for 10 years. Our furnace broke and we had a number of venders come to the house to give us estimates. We had just gotten heating oil from SMO. When the venders saw our heating oil bill they could not believe the price SMO was charging us for oil. SMO was charging us $3.99 per gallon for heating oil and topping off our tank every month. We asked around and the going rate was $3.40 a gallon. On our most recent bill they charged $4.10 oer gallon. We immediately cancelled our contract with SMO and switched oil companies. Be careful! Even though we had been customers for a decade, SMO decided to rip us off. We will never recommend SMO and will do our best to spread the word that they acted in bad faith.

I am just in the beginning stages of setting up an account with SMO. In my three conversations with the company, they have been the epitome of professionalism. Having never used oils heat before, their assitance in providing me with nit-noid details and in answering seemingly obvious questions was most important. Looking forward to see how their service is. I expect the best.

Idea of a "coop" service for propane almost had me sold until I called the company that they suggest I use and the cost was .40 less. Great concept too expensive.

They are an old, established company with great history and great customer service. I have them come fill up my tank automatically so I don't have to worry about calling them for an appointment. They have different options for payment and can lock you in on pricing to keep the price of oil from exceeding.

They do a good job and they are easy to work with.

Called in the winter to have our furnace tuned up and they came out the same day. Called today because our AC went out and they came within an hour! Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

We noticed the furnace was running rough...cutting on and off again, over and over, before getting the heat going. It just sounded very rough and kinda scarey. Called SMO, came out the next a.m. had the problem diagnosed and replaced within the hour so, we only had to pay the initial service hour cost. Professional, prompt and courteous.

We were very pleased with SMO's sales and installation. Our sales rep, Mike Gibson, was very conscientious, followed-up as appropriate, and made all the arrangements needed for the installation to go smoothly. All inspections from county representatives to SMO reps were arranged and taken care of without our input. Explanations of the operating systems were given to us, as needed, and any questions or concerns were answered in a timely manner. Our main technicians, Ale Jandro and his assistant, Mike W. were excellent. They made every effort to make sure there was no damage in our home during installation, and clean-up was excellent, too. We would highly recommend this duo. In addition, all other company contacts and county contacts that we spoke with during this installation were very professional and helpful. We would highly recommend SMO.

Wonderful. SMO performed all the needed tasks to complete the work. They kept me informed of all the steps and dates for each event during the project. All went well.

Driver was great however customer service at their office is lousssssyyyy!!!! Their website order system is antiquated so I was charged for oil instead of the system using my credit. When I contacted the office, I was told that their billing department doesn't have staffing reconcile so I need to request refund which takes 3 business days but it only took 1 day for them to take the money from my account. After 46 years of being a Beshce customer, I was sad that they sold me to SMO. This is my second bad experience with SMO and next winter I will definitely have another company heating my house due to the customer service. When I told the representative that I was not satisfied and would be seeking another company, she said ok

the tech showed up on time, was clean, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient.

They came out pretty fast. I liked what they offered, so I signed a maintenance contract with them.

I am very, very satisfied with my new mid-range capacity AC system. It very efficiently heats and cool my home. It is a larger capacity system than the one it replaced, and it does not need to run as much time as my old system did to do the job. In fact, it does a much better job, and my electric bill has actually gone down significantly because less running time is needed now to both heat and cool my home. I also received a full 2 year service and parts warrantees from both SMO/Besche Oil and from the manufacturer, Carrier Corp. The saleman that I dealt with is Bob Parlette. I compared costs and systems and warrantees and equipment quality and capacyity across five diferent vendors who gave me quotes. SMO/Besche had the best equipment for the price, but it was not the cheapest price quote that I received, nor was it the highest. The installation was done very professionally and finished in a single day, as promised. The installation crew was very courteous and very professional. They answered any questions I had and worked in a very businesslike manner. They took a great deal of care to do a neat and clean job. I would recommend this company because of the above reasons and also because they have been in business in this local area continuously for many years.

The propane company we had contracted with for the last 20+ years became extremely non-competitive on its per gallon price. We knew it was time to change suppliers, so we interviewed propane dealers to find a replacement. We wanted to own our tank, so we could switch suppliers when necessary, but the company we leased our tank from refused to sell it to us. SMO was one of only a few companies willing to sell us a tank and they offered us the best price on the new tank and a great price on propane. The tank location is a bit precarious, behind a shed and surrounded by trees and shrubs. SMO handled the task beautifully! They are a locally owned company with NICE people, NICE policies and NICE prices!
