The man who came to do the inspection was knowledgeable and explained how the treatment would work. They were very thorough, courteous and they are not pushy are disagreeable as some companies can be when you don't give them answers on the spot. They will follow up with you to see if you are still considering the decision and they are kind. My husband called Mike a week after receiving the quote to ask questions and he was just as nice and professional as he was during the estimate.

I am extremely frustrated that I wasted time with this company and that they missed the most obvious area of mold contamination.

They were prompt and efficient. They worked hard. They came back with no issues. They did a nice job.

I am waiting to see what other options I get from other company's before making a decision.

A technician was able to come to the town house within 24 hours from the first call. We received the estimate within 48 hours and decided to go with them since they gave us a very fair price and weren't going to charge us for services we didn't need (like ServPro was trying to do). I called to ask a few questions and when the office couldn’t answer a specific question, I was given the cell phone of the technician. He answered his phone on the second ring and explained the process in detail so that I could understand what would happen during the mold cleanup process. We wanted to get an industrial hygienist to do air quality readings before and after the work was performed and they we able to put me in touch with someone who turned out to be awesome (and was less than other hygienists). The work was scheduled within a week and a half of when I called (and then pushed a week later due to my schedule). Originally they thought the siding would have to come down so they could get to the exterior wall (which was gypsum board), but they were able to pull all the moldy material through the inside of the house so the siding stayed up (important during the cold temperatures in Jan and less work for my build back company). A project like this included 3 contractors (American Home Services, the hygienist and the company that rebuilt the wall) and American Home Services worked very well with the other two companies. Sara and Kurt were awesome! I felt that they really cared about me rather than just being a number like I was starting to feel when dealing with the nationally-known big mold remediation/water damaged company (mentioned above).

I really like their service because it?s a very small company comprising of three people. They were very, very responsive to us. When we were contemplating the work talking to the owner of the company he was simultaneously doing work in the basement. They were fairly priced too. I would recommend them to other people.

They came out on time, had enough folks to do the job, were quick but efficient. I was impressed with the professionalism of the work, especially the oversight of the job by Kurt. What I really appreciated was how they went the extra step of having to coordinate with the termite folks, which added some additional complexity for them. And they also did some additional work for me, on the spot, with a very reasonable price. The mold issue was completely taken care of, they left the house clean, and gave excellent customer service.

I dealt with Kurt who was very thorough, professional, punctual and honest. He found some additional mold that they remediated without charging me extra. I was also concerned with mold in other locations but he did a test and determined that there was no mold. He could have easily informed me that there was mold and charge me extra but he was honest, which saved me $$.

We called American Home Services and made the appointment with Walt Spangler and he came out to the house two days later. He was a little late because of traffic from an accident on the highway, but he was coming from farther away. Mr. Spangler was very professional and knowledgeable. He looked at the mold areas in the house and gave us a verbal estimate for remediation. We did like him and the quote sounded reasonable. But we have decided to use another company because they are more local, will come out on the weekends, and will build back our bathroom not just remove the mold areas.

I contacted American Home Services via e-mail and they responded very quickly. After a brief discussion of the problem they put together a proposal which detailed both the technical approach and the associated costs. They traveled over 100 miles to perform the work but appeared at the job site promptly, performed the agreed upon work and cleaned up the job site afterwards. They performed extremely efficiently and it was very easy to see that they knew exactly what they were doing and had the experience that other firms only dream about having!

The whole experience went very well. Sara, the office manager, is great! She is competent and responsive. I called to get an estimate and was put on the schedule for later that week. Walt came to the house to give the estimate; he was on time, explained everything and was very helpful (given my lack of knowledge about mold remediation). I was sent an estimate, which seemed reasonable. They were willing to do the work right away. The only problem was that I was not able to reach the tenants who lived in the house. And, the tenants only speak Spanish. Sara was great, she asked one of her employees who could speak Spanish to try and contact the tenants on my behalf (I asked her if that would be possible). When neither of us could get in touch with the tenants, they put me on the schedule for the following day. Sara was really patient with my difficulties reaching the tenants and helped me out as much as she could. The work was done in the time frame they had estimated and they did the work they said they would do. So it was a very good experience all around.

The gentlemen has a amazing degree of integrity. He was thorough and gave good references.

We had a small time window to get an inspection done and the company was accommodating. The inspector was running a little late and he called to let us know - very professional. The inspector was thorough and he took the time to explain our questions.

This experience went very well, they were a pleasure to work with. They did not try to give you a lecture on anything they just told you what was wrong and how they were going to fix and they did it at a very reasonable price.

Walt was very knowledgeable and thorough. He explained what he had found and gave an accurate prediction of whether chronic or not. He offered preventive information to unsure the problem wouldn't happen again. He e-mailed the inspection report to us that afternoon and the lab report a week later. Walt than called us to see if we had any questions about the reports. Sarah, who worked in the office, set up all the appointments and answered all of our questions. This company is very easy to work with and we recommend them.

They came here right away. They did the job exactly like they said that they would. They were expensive but you get what you pay for I guess. I would recommend them.

We were very comfortable initially working with American Home Services but after our experience with the estimate I wouldn't hire them. Walt Spangler came out to the house (which is vacant) to give us an estimate. He checked the place over thoroughly but I got the feeling that he was overselling the problem. We told him we were trying to get the Sellers to pay for the remediation. Walt wanted to cut into the drywall in the basement to check the extent of mold behind one wall but since we don't own the house yet we couldn't authorize it. Walt gave us a ballpark estimate of $10,000 but declined to give us a written detailed estimate they don't usually do that unless they're pretty sure of getting the job he told us (!!!) and because he couldn't see behind the one wall. (To us, that seemed like a minor part of the problem). A few days later Walt called us and told us he thought they could do it for $9,000 after he thought about it. We told him the Seller objected to the estimate and wanted to get another company in to look at the place which was fine with us. The seller was interested in finding a firm that used thermal imaging to find mold behind walls to avoid cutting into the paneling and drywall. I called back Home Services and spoke with Sara to see if we could find out anything about thermal imaging and Sara told us it works but they didn't have the camera because it's so expensive. The next day Walt called back and said he could get a camera if that's what the Seller wanted. The Seller had told us that he'd spoken with Walt a few days before and Walt told him he didn't remember much about the house. Today Walt called first my husband's cell and then mine and lowered his estimate for a second time (on the house he told the Seller he didn't remember) from $9,000 to $7,600 - $8,200. I told him it was in the Seller's hands. He said he didn't remember speaking to the seller but then he'd made a lot of calls that day. We told him the seller had agreed to pay and we were out of it now. I also told him that if he'd given us his best estimate to begin with perhaps the seller would be more interested in dealing with him.

I was definitely disappointed in Walt's delivery or attempt to sell me his company's services. In my case I think it was more of a disservice. My cousin, who I happened to be telling her the story to, told me that he used the same speech with her and she decided not to go with him. Ultimately, this company didn't do the service because they didn't have the time, "they had too many big projects." to do.

The entire crew was efficient, hard working, polite, and punctual. Mold remediation is a nasty and dangerous business and the crew was very careful to keep me and themselves safe. The job was thorough and I have not had any recurrence of the mold. The rebuild was equally well done. The cost was good considering the amount of work that was done, and stuck to the original estimate.

They were able to come out immediately due to a project getting done early. The arrived on time and worked efficiently. Extremely courteous, and professional. Each part of the project was explained and Kurt performed a visual inspection on other small locations to see if there was any mold. I would hire them again, without reservation. Job came in at price and work was done in the estimated time.

They held firm to their estimate. They did a thorough job, explained everything they did to me before, during, and after the job. And I didn't have to hound them for the info. They did extra work as needed, and were great to deal with. Well worth the expense to hire these guys. They took pictures, emailed them afterward. They take credit, which makes it easier to pay for these large home problems that we're all not prepared for. The owner, Curt, is who does the work. He couldn't be more thorough in taking care of everyone.

It went beautifully and took even less time than they thought. Price was right on.

We were very happy with their work. The lead technician stayed on the job all day and took the time to show us some other structural problems after they completed their work. Over all, they were very thorough.

They were highly professional, prompt, and efficient. They covered the furniture during their work and took care during all of their work. They know their stuff, without question. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have struggled with how to really address a mold problem. Had a company come in and spray; they should have recommended more thorough action. Since, I did not have a good feeling that the problem was solved, I contacted AHS. The initial evaluation was free. The estimator was very thorough and listened to all of my concerns. Because the mold was visible he recommended we test the air, I agreed. Received results from AHS timely. The mold remediation team of three was timely, thoughtful and went beyond the call of duty. I feel that the mold has been cleaned up. Will do maintenance, ex: get a dehumidifier for the spring/summer. Note that I got a discount because of a recommendation from a neighborhood list serv. The remediation work cost $1,800. I would with out question use AHS again. They have certified inspectors that know what they are doing. Finally, based on AMC's advice I am replacing all paper and box containers with plastic to be sure. A successful project.
