Walt from American Home Services came out to do a visual inspection of my condo after my tenant was worried about mold in the place. He inspected the place appropriately and told me that there were no obvious signs of mold, and that we should move right to the air quality test to be 100% sure. The cost was $325, and that's not negotiable because that's the lab fee cost. He took a sample of the air in the condo and outside of the condo for comparison purposes. It took a few minutes and in the meantime he was describing why he thinks the mold concerns in the condo were unwarranted. It was almost like an education session. The results came back negative, and all was well! But I really cannot speak highly enough of both Walt and Shirley (the voice of American Home Services). They were just absolutely wonderful. I will undoubtedly use this company again if I have a similar concern in the future.

It went very well. I was pleased with their service. He was very thorough and explained everything effectively. They were very good about being neat and following all the proper procedures for removing mold. We have a statement that further explains they did remove the mold. As long as we follow through with the process, we will not have any mold in the future. Another think I really liked about the service was the initial phone conversation. He explained, not just their role in the company but the all other aspects of removing the mold. He stated we need to hire other people to address the other areas that are causing the mold. He also gave a lot of suggestions of the different types of service providers to call to address the water leak.

They were very professional. I was very pleased with their services. I was impressed that they introduced themselves and they were very cordial. They were also very competent and proud of their work. They did a great job. I would recommend their services.

I would use them again in the future.

All around great job from initial visit/estimate to finish. We were one of the unlucky ones to have some water in our finished and unfinished sections of the basement after the big rains of September. AHS was one of six or seven companies we called, and one of three that gave an estimate. Originally, they made an estimate to remediate the basement areas that were affected by mildew and mold, as did one other company. The price appeared reasonable given the scope of work. A week or two later as I was moving some items in the basement, I noticed a crack in the basement corner and suspicious mold. I called Walt at AHS and he agreed to come out and look at it to make another estimate (which he did). To our surprise, the estimate was no different.I mentioned another company gave an estimate on the work. That company provided as more detailed estimate for a larger scope of work. I presented this to Walt and AHS was able to match that scope of work for a slightly lower price than the second company. We selected AHS not because of price, but because of Angie's List recommendations and because the company president would be on site.During the work, which went very well, Kurt was present for the entire job. He, Walt, and two other men set up containment, removed affected materials and did a thorough cleanup. During the removal, Kurt noticed some flickering lights in the basement. He checked some wires and told us that that some of our circuits were improperly wired. That will be a job for another (near future) day. But for now, we were impressed from start to finish with AHS. We would recommend them to anyone needing remediation and, were we to buy another house, would seek Kurt out as our home inspector.

They sent the mold samples for independent testing at another location and then we received a report. I thought they were very good and I would recommend them to others.

Their service or office manager was very nice. She was understanding on the phone and arranged for an estimator to come to our house. Unfortunately, the estimator may have been having a bad day. He seemed a little distracted. He also made it clear that their company could deal with the mold, but did not do anything to remediate the underlying problem, water coming into the basement (we had a sump pump installed). He would not give us a price, saying that his manager would have to do that back at the office, but that they would have it ready the next day. This was on a Friday. It turns out that they are closed on the weekend. The manager followed up with calls the next week, but we had to move fast on our mold problem and another company jumped right on it.

I called American Home Services on 10/31. They were extremely professional over the phone. I attempted to schedule a date for an estimate. I was told they only were in our area one day a week (Monday), and that the earliest scheduled possible date might be on 11/14. Work could not commence until at least 11/21 or later. When I asked about other days, I was told that was not possible. I found another company with more flexibility to meet our needs.

I didn’t use them. They remove the drywall, but they don’t replace it. They were good, but their estimate was kind of high. The guy came on time; he was punctual. I would probably not use them again because I already know that their price is pretty high.

They did visual inspection to see if there was any hole in the wall.

They are great. They really know what they are doing, they are nice people, and I felt comfortable in their hands.

It was great. Kurt stuck to his timeline. He demolished the entire area, gave us ideas as to the cause of the leak in our basement. What I liked about American Home Services is that they recommended having a third party come in after they finished to perform air quality tests. This let me know they felt firm in standing behind their work. The air tests came back clean and we are happy. Shirley was great in working with me to get messages back and forth to Kurt and she was a joy to work with. They are a great company and I would recommend them to anyone who has the misfortune of needed mold inspections, remediation or testing.

It turned out really well. They did a good job. They were a little late showing up but the job quality was really good.

They found a small amount of mold. Took care of it. Suggested what else needed to be done to prevent further developement (that had already been done). Cleaned up beautifully and were very professional throughout.

The spot was small. I was concerned that it resulted from water damage that occurred during the February 2010 blizzards. Once the drywall was removed, we discovered that the problem was a leaking valve on a small water pipe.

They were very good and very reliable. It was a hot day and he went up in the attic and did all the work in the house. He had a meter to do the testing. They gave us piece of mind that we didn't have any mold in the house. He did have to punch a small hole in the wall. He did say there was some surface mold on the outside of the house and they gave us an estimate to do that. The estimate was really high so we ended up renovating the work. They are incredibly expensive for what they do with the repairs but if you have a problem they are the people to go to. He was very knowledgeable. He emailed and sent pictures and he even told us about a rafter that wasn?t attached properly in the attic that he stepped on. He was punctual and professional.

We were told during our home inspection that there was mold in the basement of our house. We also suspected that two other areas had possible mold growth. We had two companies out to give us estimates and ended up going with AHS because they seemed a little more thorough. They did a great job and were professional and knowledgeable. We didn't hire them to do the build-back work, but only because we had our contractor already scheduled to come out and work at the property and figured he could do it then.

I was very pleased with them. They were very thorough in evaluating the situation. They looked at where the mold was and where it could spread to. They were pretty good in staying at the cost that they estimated. They were right on with their estimation of how long it would take. The air conditioning person came in and said that there was evidence of mold in my air conditioning coil. That was taken care of, and I haven't had any problems since. Their estimate was the most reasonable of the estimates that I got. They were equally as effective as what the other companies were saying.

They have done mold remediation for us and putting up the drywall was a part of the remediation. Most of the work they have done is mold remediation. They are wonderful to work with. They are very responsive and they do things right. They take the time and they don?t rush. They have a genuine interest in doing the job right. We have used them twice and have had great service with them. I highly recommend them for mold remediation. We had used different mold remediation companies before and we didn?t have good experiences with those companies. However, we have had only positive experience with American Home Services. If you want personal service and the job done correctly, then they are the ones to go to. Mold remediation is very expensive, but I think they are reasonable and they give a very fair price for the quality of work they do. They have been great and we would use their services in the future too.

From start to finish, our interactions with this company were helpful and professional. We had an emergency mold problem that needed immediate attention and everyone from the receptionist to the mold remediators were top-notch. Mike spent time on the phone with me to help problem-solve the immediate situation. Then when he came to look at the mold and water damage he was very professional and knowledgeable about the problem. The owner of the company worked on the job, which ensured quality control. We're very happy with the results.

From start to finish it went very well. Mike came first to give an estimate. He took the trouble to use a ladder and inspect the affected sites closely. He discussed the problem at length, listened to our concerns and was very helpful. Kurt also came to inspect the problem areas and to determine whether scaffolding would be needed. On the day the work was performed, the team arrived on time and went right to work. When the work was completed, they even helped to move our furniture back into place. From Sara who answered the phone and set up appointments to Mike, Kurt and their crew, everyone was unfailingly professional. They treated us and our home with respect. We are most appreciative that the new carpeting and newly painted walls were not damaged and the paneled ceiling looks great.

Having mold removed is neither pleasant nor cheap, but AHS was exemplary: all done when they said it would be done, the president of the company walked me through our gutted basement, made recommendations for remediation and pointed out what we should do. Everything left neat as a pin. Would I want to have to use them again? No. But would I recommend them a friend in the same sorry state? Absolutely.

We live in a condominium building and a water heater in a condo above us broke and began leaking into the floor above us, which then led to water dripping onto our ceiling. We experienced some water damage and were very concerned about mold, as we were unsure how long the leak had been going. After the leak was stopped, I called American Home Services to have our ceiling and the area above it checked for mold. The customer service was great and the technician was able to come to our home within a few days. He was punctual (even a few minutes early) and professional. After analyzing the area, he determined there was nothing to worry about, but took a good deal of time to answer our family’s questions and allay any fears we had. The evaluation fee was very reasonable. American Home Services is professional, courteous, and thorough. I would highly recommend them.
