Everything went well and I was pleased with the results. The workers could have been a little neater. They placed tools and items on a freezer in the garage without covering the freezer. Not a big deal. I should have covered the freezer before they started working. But I covered it once I realized they had not.

Very well. The ceiling and wall look better than before. (This is an almost 100 year old house.)
Description of Work: I needed the 3rd floor old plaster ceiling over a staircase, part of which had fallen, repaired and two walls in a 2nd floor room repaired. They came, made suggestions, neatly covered everything with plastic sheeting or drop sheets so the plaster would not spread, and cleaned up thoroughly when finished. They plasterer remembered to take wall and ceiling paint samples with them and gave them to the painters. The only possible caveat is that they were one of the more pricey of the 6 estimates I received.

The work good. There were some issues with how loud they were the first days and there were some areas that were missed, but each time I pointed out a problem, the problem was remedied. They really listen to their customers and do what is necessary to make them pleased with the work.

Description of Work: We had the exterior of our house painted by Ricci...Roger Ricci is a joy to deal with and his team did a great job. The painters were meticulous - the crew-chief oversaw the day to day and made sure all the details were taken care of. We couldn't be happier!

We emailed this company for framing and drywall for our basement as advertised by their website. In that email we had provided them with a plan (which we were flexible on if they had suggested changes). We had an electrician and just needed to get a plumber depending on if we choose to do the bathroom at the same time. Since they do a lot of work in our neighborhood, which their office is in, it seemed to make sense. The estimator came out and it seemed promising. I had to email multiple times over two months to try to get an estimate. Finally I heard back after multiple emails and weeks later saying they would not be giving us an estimate. (that email was polite) We had provided a plan and it would have been a very easy job given the basement is gutted (and would have been empty and clean prior to them starting. We would not have needed any access to the space and were not on a specific timeframe for completion so they easily could have fit us in-between other jobs. I get the impression that they like to subcontract and not work with homeowners directly. Update - This company should not be using a customer's name publicly given the rules of Angie's List. I have no issue with the company knowing who wrote the review, but they should be requesting permission before posting about specific customers. I understand he is not pleased with the review but it should be no surprise given this was not the first incident with this company. Their response makes no sense. It was not an addition - it was a basement remodel. It also was not a timing issue as we were very flexible (and willing to be fit in-between other larger jobs). We were on no specific timeframe to get the work done - it was ok to start in a month, two months or even six months. I sent multiple follow up emails, not just one. There was no recommendations to other companies. I was simply told he was not interested in the job. Had he had done what he is saying in his response, I would have been appreciative and not written a review. Its ok for a company to not be interested in a job, but be upfront during the visit saying we are not interested especially given I provided a plan prior to the appointment. We also tried this company several years before (we had wanted to start the project a few years earlier but got side tracked) and he came out and we never got a response. We saw they worked as subs on several of our neighbors houses recently so we decided to try them again. It was not an addition. It was a very small basement remodel that would have only taken them a few days or a week to complete.
Description of Work: Came to look at the space, review our plan and then, refuse to provide an estimate after multiple emails asking.

Response from RICCI DRYWALL & PAINTING CO INC
This is a response to [Member Name Removed] regarding her complaint against my company. I am sincerely sorry that there seems to have been a miscommunication between us regarding a potential bid to do some work in her home. As I had tried to explain to [Member Name Removed], at the time that she requested a bid our company was in the midst of an extremely busy month. I had sent [Member Name Removed] an email explaining that unfortunately due to the large amount of projects we already had on the books we would not be able to take on her job. I feel that it is extremely important as a company to perform quality work in a timely manner and there is a certain point where taking more jobs on that we can handle in a reasonable amount of time is harmful not only to us but to our customers. Regretfully, it seems that the email I sent out was never actually received by her, whether that was due to an error on my part with the address or what have you. I understand [Member Name Removed]’s frustration as I too expect to hear from a contractor in a timely fashion. I will add that while I regret the miscommunication with [Member Name Removed], I’m a bit surprised and perplexed as to why she waited months to contact me again and respond in such a negative manner. Upon learning that she was upset I sent her an email apologizing for the mistake and offered to check with other associates of mine that might be able to take on her job. It is regretful that [Member Name Removed] feels slighted by my company. I take pride in responding promptly to all my clients, current and potential. Had my initial email been received I believe none of this would have been an issue as I clearly explained that we just had too many projects going on at that time to take on new clients. I offered to reach out to companies I have worked with before to help her in addition to offering my apologies for the mix up. Thank you

When we had our master bath and guest bath remodeled, our contractor used Ricci Drywall and Painting to handle the drywall/painting. They did an excellent job, so we went with Ricci for our interior paint project. They completed the job in 7 business days. Initially, the estimator came out to look at the scope of our project; we sent Ricci the colors we picked and what paint we wanted to use (Benjamin Moore). About 3 days later, Ricci sent us their estimate for the job. The cost is a bit high, but we knew that Ricci painters are very good, so it was worth it to us. The crew chief, Victor, and his crew were very professional, respectful, and accommodating. Victor and his crew did a fantastic job painting our home. They did excellent prep work before they painted. They also cleaned up the areas at the end of each day. They were very careful moving the furniture, refrigerator, taking down window treatments, outlet covers, mirrors, then putting it all back. We love their attention to detail and their work ethic. Very professional.
Description of Work: Interior house painting/drywall patching: Master Bedroom, upstairs hallway, 2-story foyer, formal living room, formal dining room, kitchen, family room, office, and powder room; all the trim (crown molding and baseboards), including all doors.

Most of it went well. The workers were professional and did the work promptly. The issue I have is with the sanding / finishing work. Before any work began, or when the work started, I believe I made it clear I was going to want all the finishing work to be sanded well. To be fair, its good to mention that I asked the contractor to come in several time to do additional sanding which they did. However, there was a spot they consistently missed sanding and some areas were never sanded well. One particular area that was consistently not sanded well was the joints between the wall and the ceiling. I was re-sanding many or most of those areas. Also, I paid extra to have some sound insulting drywall placed in specific areas and asked that gaps be filled in with some sealant which was to some degree never done. I asked the contractor to come in and finished to resand some areas which they did but I should have asked for the manager to come in and go over with him all my concerns because by the 3rd time or so the manager said they just could not come in anymore. When I first used this contract I was pretty green in that I was trusting them to some degree to get the job right. However, now after they left and I am finishing up the job, sanding all the areas that need to be sanded and filling in gaps in the sound insulated drywall, I know exactly what they did and did not do and I know now what to look for.

The crew that worked on the jobs were professional, pleasant, and hard-working. They showed up when they said they would and did what they said they were going to do. They made sure that all the windows worked before leaving on the last day. A little expensive in my view, but not outrageously so, and a very good job.
Description of Work: Ricci painted a large of number of windows (trim, frames, etc.) on the interior of my home, patched and painted two doors that had pet scratches, and replaced drywall and repainted the ceiling in our daughter's bedroom where there had been a leak and water damage.

I was very impressed with the professionalism of this company. The work was performed beautifully, promptly, and reasonably priced. The work staff were courteous, responsive and cleaned up well upon completion. They went beyond my initial needs, and I am very happy with the results. I will definitely use this company again!

Ricci's crew are highly professional, easy to work with, and extremely responsive to customer requests and needs. They did a great job!
Description of Work: Ricci's team were contracted as part of an overall kitchen, laundry and small bathroom renovation. There were a large number of overhead lights repositioned, leaving a number of holes in the ceiling and there were a number of changes to the laundry room configuration resulting in a fair amount of dry wall work. Ricci's team did an outstanding job of repairing and replacing and retaping the drywall with the result that you can't see where they made any patches or changes. Additionally, Ricci's crew painted all three rooms, doing an outstanding job. Their people were all friendly and quick to respond to any changes or missed areas in the painting job. The kitched, laundry room and bath all look great!.

We wanted all new drywall for our 5x8 bath on Capitol Hill because it had tile and multiple layers of paint and wallpaper on it. We took out all the old drywall, floor and tile ourselves and had Ricci put in all new drywall on the walls and ceiling including a recessed shelf area in the tub surround. Roger (the owner/manager?) was great to work with...the best points were: Wllingness to give a rough price over the phone until a detailed written estimate could be done in person (they were the same). Arrived on time for estimate and workPriced below three other drywallers we contacted Workers were nice and professional and worked with me to make adjustments on the day of the install Finish was high quality, paint ready Some seams were not finished to the correct height as orignally planned (in preparation for tile wainscotting) and Roger sent out a person the next day to fix it. Great experience overall... I will use them for some other services during our remodel including door and tille installation, framing and painting.
Description of Work: Installed drywall to all walls and ceiling of 5x8 bathroom to a paint-ready finish. Walls were down to the studs when work began. A few metal studs were repaired and a recessed shelf was framed into the tub surround.

RICCI DRYWALL and PAINTING INC is licensed, I looked it up. An adequate site survey was first performed. The LOE was determined and priced. The price was offered in writing. I negotiated price and LOE with them in a very professional manner. Dates were agreed to. They required 3 days to perform the job. They arrived promptly, and I left them unsupervised for the remainder of the day, as I had to work. I had no quams. On the third day, my rooms looked exactly the way I wanted them to - ready to paint. The only thing I advised them on was keeping the dust under control. Otherwise, I chose the right people to work on my house, and I'd do it again.
Description of Work: I refinished all the drywall in my master bedroom. I had contracted out the mudding and drywalling to a nobody, and they screwed it up. I contracted Ricci's guys to remud and resand the room.

They did not bother to call back. Perhaps they don't really need the work.
Description of Work: This company took my call in search of an estimate, and promised to have an estimator call me right back. I never received a call back. When I called to inquire why they hadn't called, they said that it was too far for them to travel to my house (9 miles), so they did not bother calling back. That was dissappointing and not very professional.
