+ -1 moreThe job went fine. They did all the things they should do. They communicated well. Technically, they were excellent. They were very pleasant to have around. They cleaned up like they haven't been here except that things were painted. They were just very straightforward to deal with. I'd probably give them an A on all those categories. There was no part of the job where I would change.
Description of Work: The painters we hired were Powell and Graves. They did interior touch-up for us.

Description of Work: ExteriorPainting/Trim & Portico |Doug and Jack were an exceptional team! They arrived each day at the crack of dawn and worked nonstop. They are true craftsmen and the quality of their work demonstrated it. Doug was stung by bees that were under my bushes, but he continued to work without complaint. Jack discovered that my house had many boards of rotted wood and he needed to improvise and become a carpenter. This required additional cost that was fairly priced. They punched through all the challenges with a smile on their faces, a polite manner, and excellent workmanship.

Description of Work: Prepped and painted one room and one closet plus the radiator. 2 coats. Also repaired cracked plaster.

+ -1 moreWe were told that the job would take a week and the job was finished as promised. Everything was done in a completely professional manner; no mess, no problems, just what we wanted. After the job was finished, there was no way to tell that anything had been done (except that our house looked great!). We would hire them again In a heartbeat; they are terrific.
Description of Work: Painted our house and sealed our deck. Did repairs to siding, facia, and the deck.

+ 0 moreThese guys are fantastic. Their work exceeded my expectations. Their price was a bit high, but their work was exceptional as was their professionalism, so worth every penny. They were a pleasure to deal with. The paint job in my kitchen is so good, I no longer feel I have to remodel. I have worked with at least 4 other painting companies and these guys are what you need if you want a hassle free experience with great results.
Description of Work: The company removed wallpaper in two rooms, painted a kitchen, dining room and breakfast room.

+ -1 moreWe've used this company before for interior work as have some of our friends. The combination of their careful work, excellent carpentry skills and professionalism make it easy to recommend them and to be a repeat client.
Description of Work: Prepped and painted the wood trim and windows of our brick home and repaired and replaced some rotten wood. Painters were punctual and professional and did an excellent job. The job took several days and the property was clean each night after they left.

+ -1 moreThe last time my house needed exterior painting, we noticed some worn/rotted siding on the second floor dormer windows. Most of the exterior wood on those needed replacing. Powell and Graves recommended James Hardy Board. I cruised the neighborhood photographing dormers I liked, came home and put them up on the computer screen, and asked them to duplicate. They did. It looks great.
Description of Work: Every 4 years, Powell and Graves has come to my house to paint the exterior. And they also visit as needed to paint the interior. Friends and neighbors often ask for their card because my house looks so nice. Two men own the company and do all of the work. The last time they were here to paint the exterior, we found some needed repairs on my 1937 house and they were able to do minor carpentry repairs before painting. After 34 years of service in the Washington, Bethesday, Chevy Chase, Potomac area they have established a large customer base and perform high quality custom work. Once they start on the job they complete it before moving on and they don't do multiple jobs at the same time. I feel confident in my recommendation and others who have used them have told me the same. They have known my family since my son was 4 and I trust them completely in my home.
