Do obtain an estimate and don't leave the article with them unless you are sure you want them to work on it.
Description of Work: We brought in a fireplace guard and requested an estimate for the polishing/repair. We wanted to make sure it was worth it to repair the item before having the work done. No estimate was provided. Instead they did the work and presented us with the bill. They did agree to take $30 off the final amount since they knew we were unhappy.

Great overall - took about 2 weeks from start to finish - they weren't sure of exactly the best way to do it since the part could not be dipped in the caustic soda that would normally be used to remove the anodizing. They ended up bead blasting the part and then polishing to a hi shine.
Description of Work: Glass bead blasted blue anodizing off on a steering damper for my Ducati then polished the aluminum to a hi shine.

Excellent and timely!
Description of Work: Polished old (Russian) silver service coffee/tea set which had been sitting in basement for a few years. Managed to repair pieces magnificently due to my then 4 (now 14) year old son using the pieces as a drum set! Very pleased with quality of work.

We have used them for over ten years. Their prices are not on the cheap end but they do very good quality work with attention to detail. In several instances, they were able to repair small defects without replating. Very happy with quality of work and finished on time (or even early). Offers good advice for care and use of silver items and copper/brass items (and sells a small number of imported metal care products. Friends and relatives were sufficiently impressed to start using Metro Plating also.
Description of Work: Repair, replating and polishing of silver plate and solid silver service pieces from family collection.
