flooring contractor
+ -1 moreWe went to this store twice to look for flooring. The man wrote our names and contact info in a notebook and said he would call when the samples were in. He didn't. While there, we saw something else we liked and returned a couple of weeks later to take a second look. He didn't have a current sample book so two of the four samples we requested were for discontinued products. He didn't know the price of the product! How is that possible? He said he would let us know. He calls and quotes a price that is more the 3x the price I was able to find at other retailers. I hate being treated like I am stupid. This is a big urban area with dozens of retailers selling this product. Doesn't he think/know that most people will comparison-shop?
Description of Work: Tried to sell us a product at rip-off prices.

Description of Work: I had this company install some very expensive porcelain tile in my kitchen in February, 2011. Within six months the tiles started to come up from the floor. I had an contractor come in and look at it, and he confirmed what I thought - the installation job was botched from the beginning. I went through absolute H*** to get them to come back and fix the tiles. The days they were supposed to come over, they never showed up. Then, they called me at work and told me that they were at my house waiting for me, but no one had ever bothered to call me to tell me they were coming. I waited home on a Saturday morning when these guys PROMISED me they would come to my house. 30 minutes after they were supposed to be there, the manager calls me to tell me they won't make it. I told him to forget the repair - I was going to forward this issue to my lawyer, and he called me an A******. Seriously. It wasn't until I threatened them with small claims court and then the better business bureau that they FINALLY showed up and did a middling job on the repair. The bottom line is that the floor is totally screwed up, and the entire job will have to be redone at some point. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE - THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK WITH!
