They came almost immediately and the guy was very knowledgeable. He explained to me what he was doing and was kind and courteous. He inspected the rest of the furnace and told me what to expect in terms of future servicing. I would highly recommend them to others.

Davis and Davis took care of everything quite quickly for us. The technician showed us some preventive actions to take so the problem would not occur again. I am seriously considering a contract with them.

The price for the job was around the mid range of estimates that we received. They were very professional, very helpful in answering all our questions, and when they were done, they cleaned up very nicely. I would recommend them to anyone and we will continue to use them ourselves.

Davis Air Conditioning was very nice and respectful the whole time they were working. They came on time and installed the air conditioner very quickly. They definitely do good work and I have not run into any problems since they put it in.

I received 3 quotes for the job. This is time consuming but also well worth the money I saved had I gone with the first quotes. The Davis & Davis quote also included 10 years free parts and Labor, which made their offer much more attractive than the others received because I have two additional heating/ac systems to maintain. When I gave one of the other contractors an opportunity to match the Davis offer, they couldn't come close. The new system was installed by three men on a Wednesday, five days after receiving the quote. When they finished installation, which went very smoothly, a brief tutorial was provided on working the new digital thermostat.

Tom came out, he asked a few question then went right to work. He checked everything out and found the problem. Parts were on the truck and he was able to repair the unit right then. Once the unit was repair he went back and re-checked everything to ensure the unit was operating with in the manufacturers specifications. He also said to let it run for a few days and if I had any other problems to just call them back and he'd come right back out. Customer service was excellent.

The person who answered the phone was very scattered and initially said they were not taking any new customers. Weird. Then she said she found an appointment available in 2 weeks. When I described what we were looking for and asked about pricing I was told the visit would be $85 the first half-hour and $30 for each 15 minute increment thereafter. I canceled the appointment after Home AirServices agreed to come out within a few days to take a look at the house and discuss options (at no charge). We'll report on Home AirServices once we're done working with them but so far they seem great.

I had used them 15 years ago and they did the job so well I called them back. I use them for maintenance also.

Excellent. I originally contacted another HVAC company, who the previous owners used, and their technician said the furnace was not repairable and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the other company said they could not repair the furnace for 5 days during a snow emergency weekend. After heavy-up-selling from them, I subscribed to and checked Angie's List and another consumer source and then called Davis & Davis. Their technician, Ivan, diagnosed the problem, had the faulty part on his truck, and had the furnace running within an hour. I was also interested in replacing our 18 year old furnace and AC when the weather was warmer. Ivan advised *not* to replace and said that the parts should be readily available. Needless to say, I greatly appreciated his integrity (I also learned that D&D's service technician cannot sell - an installer comes to give an estimate if you need a complete replacement).

The technician was on time. However, from the minute he walked through the door I was told that the company does not come "this far" into the District and that the dispatcher was new and did not know. He spent 20 minutes telling me that the furnace was cheap and terrible and that it will have to be replaced while he checked the amperage of 4 wires. He said we would clean the temperature sensor, which he did not do. He basically left me with a furnace that will not last much longer than a month or two with no ability to follow up. The entry in Angie's List reads that the company is IN WASHINGTON, DC! Why would that be if they will not come to my house again. I basically wasted $80 because the technician had nothing invested in the visit. He knew he would not be back and basically wasted my time.

The technician arrived right on time, listened to my problems, and went right to work. In addition to everything described above, he also showed us how to back off on the water flow to the humidifier, which had been set full on and made a roaring noise when operating. He was prompt, friendly, helpful, and informative.

They did a fine job. They inspected and tested the furnace and noted that while the motor was noisy, it was operating fine and the noise was due to how it was constructed. Replacement of the motor would likely result in the same problem and was not influencing operation.

Our furnace stopped working late in the evening and I called the Davis & Davis answering service. They told me a representative would call me back in the morning. I never received a call and when I called them later in the day they didn't have my information and I was told they don't provide service in my area. That would have been good to know when I called the answering service.

Overall, excellent service. On-site estimate was done promptly and bid was informative. Work was scheduled and executed well.

Davis & Davis installed the replacement units without any problems. They were very professional and stated a number of times that they would do anything we wanted to make us happy. Their work was very neat and clean. They didn't try to sell us on additional upgrades. After replacing our 7-day programmable with a 5-day with the installation, I explained that I wanted a 7-day installed. They replaced the t-stat the next day.

Davis and Davis provided a detailed estimate in writing after meeting with me at the scheduled time to assess the heating and air conditioning systems. They scheduled the removal and installation within a few days of my acceptance of their estimate. They arrived on time and quickly and expertly removed the old air conditioning system. They installed a new pad for the new system. Before installing the heating system, the installer showed me damage to the new unit; it had appeared to have been dropped. He called for delivery of a replacement unit and had an additional crew show up to assist in completing the replacement in time. The high efficiency heater required installing a new vent through the foundation. The crew completed the routing of the copper and PVC pipes with the least intrusion into the basement. They cleaned the area and explained the operation of the Aprilaire vents and showed how to clean and replace them.

I had suspected leaks in the system. The technician did some troubleshooting and identified several. He recommended replacing the coil. Months earlier, the coil had frozen up and I called another company. They recommended a chemical cleaning to the tune of $1100. Had it been done, the coil still would have to have been replaced. I feel satisfied that I received a new coil for $1800 rather than a cleaning ($1100) and probably future replacement. I observed the coil after installation and noticed that some of the delicate fins of the coil had been crushed. Only one technician was on the job, and I suspect the damage occurred while lifting the heavy coil into position. The coil was still operational. I had a appointment in the afternoon on the day of the replacement. I communicated that I wanted them to be complete by 1:30. They said the job would take three hours. They almost did not meet my schedule, and I felt they rushed a little bit.

Prompt reply to call for an estimate to install a new furnace and air conditioner. Detailed and well documented estimate booklet was presented. Workers were on time and knew what they were doing. Units were installed within estimated time frame. One minor adjustment had to be made later to the duct work that was also done promptly without any argument.

The office called early that morning and let me know the approximate arrival time of the serviceman. At my request, he called as he arrived at the house so my dogs didn't launch themselves at him as soon as he rang the doorbell. He was very thorough and since this is a new home for me, explained how to bleed the radiators if I ever needed it. I had decided to purchase the maintenance agreement ahead of time since this will also cover my spring checkup for the A/C.
