I was concerned that our AC system was not functioning and called for service first thing in the morning. The person answering the phone asked questions which resulted in an appointment for that afternoon. The service person arrived on time and proceeded to check the system. I was informed of the issues discovered (low Freon and a broken switch). I was told the price for the necessary service and as soon as I OK'd the service the work was undertaken. The repairs were done efficently and in keeping with the prices quoted. The area in which the work was undertaken was cleaned when the work was completed.

I have no complaints. The crew was very knowledgable, careful and respectful of the house and of my questions. They worked steadily for seven hours. I would highly recommend them. In the first meeting, the representative, (Fritz) pointed out code violations and problems associated with the upgrade that two other companies failed to notice or address in their estimates. We need a company who provides us with an expert who knows about these things. Davis and Davis clearly does provide the level of expertise that is needed. I highly recommend them.

They were timely and straightforward. They did a good job in figuring out what the problem was and fixing it quickly. They didn't act like I needed a whole new system. They quickly figured out what the problem was and fixed it and that was what I was looking for.

They are very professional. They come within the day, and even though they are probably a little more expensive than others it is worth it since the workmanship is so great. They do the job right, they do it quickly, and you couldn't ask for anything better.

They are just awesome. Fritz is the person there that I always work with and he is awesome. He is extremely knowledgeable. He has been doing this work for long and knows exactly things like what kind of compressor needs to go with what kind of air handler and all that for the size of the house. He just knows what he is doing. They are here when they say they are going to come. They are professional.

I am satisfied that they are committed to resolving this matter in a way that is satisfactory to us.

I am very happy with them. They come twice every year in the summer and winter. I have a maintenance contract with them. If I have any problems, they come too but I haven’t had a problem. They call me to schedule the appointment. I don’t have to call them. They are very reliable all the time. They call in the morning and make sure I am there, and let me know when they are on their way. I am very happy with that. They tell me if I need something else done. I have never had any problems. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

It was minimal job. They gave us a little lecture on some operating procedures.

Noticed quite a bit of water coming out of a hose conencting heat pump and air conditioner in basement. Called Davis & Davis about 4:30 p.m. Rather unfriendly young lady took a message and did not ask for our addess. A gentleman called a little after 9 p.m. He asked me several times whether the water was coming out of different types of houses and in the end I had to reply that I do not know what the hoses are for the heat pump and air conditioner and I was hoping someone would come out and see. He said they could come the next day and I said I would be there. He verified our address in Montgomery Village and said someone would call about 8 in the morning for a service window. At 6:30 a.m. the next morning we were awakened by someone calling to say we were way out of their service area for their 32 employees to go. It just seems that should have been told to us in our first two contacts with this company. I didn't think this was professional at all.

Our air conditioning unit was not functioning and we had no idea as to what the problem was. A technician from Davis and Davis checked the unit thoroughly and concluded it was out of coolant. When the job was completed the unit came to life and has been working fine ever since. We appreciate that the technician was on time and very professional and that we were not taken advantage of. We have since recommended the company to others.

This company was following a bad experience we had had with another compnay a few days earlier. The Davis and Davis technician was punctucal, explained why the unit was not serviceable that day, and what we were to do until they returned the next day. They returned, and added the Freon that the unit needed. Everything is now working splendidly.

We use them twice a year as we have a contract with them. They are not always great but this time the guy who came out was absolutely top notch. What's top notch about him is that he didn't try to press us to change and get a new system. If I complain about a back room that doesn't seem to work, he sees what he can do about it in a modest price. He's very good and they call you to remind you when they are coming out.

They showed up on time, were very clean and did a great quality installation. They even cleaned up after themselves and the installation is beutiful. The workmanship is really nice. Finding qaulity workmanship these days is hard and they did such a good job.

D&D came to my house on 5/5 to diagnose a central A/C system which would not move any air. They diagnosed a problem with the Carrier variable speed blower motor system. These are absurdly expensive units, and it was about ten years old and beyond warranty. I was told that if were a newer system, there might have been a possibility of just replacing the electronics or just the blower mechanism, but due to its age, the entire part needed to be replaced. D&D called on the morning of 5/9 to say the part was in, and they came out as agreed that afternoon to install it. Dwight from Davis and Davis replaced the variable speed blower motor located in my attic. My attic is not a pleasant place to work, but Dwight did not complain, replaced the blower motor, tested the system and left. I gave them an A on price since the blower motor appeared to cost about $700 wholesale and it was sold to me for $1145, which isn't an unreasonable markup.

The lady who answered our call was very polite and seemed quite concerned about the problem (though I assured her we'd been living with this for many months and it wasn't urgent). Shortly thereafter, we got a late evening call from their technician. He seemed a bit gruff at first, but I forgave him for this later after I saw him in action. After a fairly extensive conversation, he asked me to call the main office back the following morning to set up an appointment. We made an appointment for a few days later. Although the appointment window was about 4 or 5 hours in duration, D&D called first thing in the morning to give a narrower 2-hour window when they would be arriving. They did arrive when they said they would. Prior to the technician's arrival, I turned the furnace blower off, so that the fumes would accumulate. As you might expect, the problem didn't seem as bad now that someone was coming to work on it! However, when the technician first walked through the door, I asked him if he smelled anything. He said, "I smell ozone. Do you have an electrostatic air filter?" I answered in the affirmative. He investigated other possible sources of the problem and verified that the rest of the system was working properly, including the exhaust vent to the outside. He then checked the electrostatic air filter and found that it had not been wired properly when it was installed. It remained "on" even when the furnace blower was off, continuing to produce ozone all the time. He serviced the air conditioner for me, and we agreed he would return for a second appointment to re-wire (and replace a part in) the air filter. During the second appointment, he not only corrected the wiring problem with the air filter, but also discovered a small natural gas leak inside the heating compartment of the furnace. He corrected that problem as well. So, what we had been smelling all these months (actually years, now that I understand the problem) was a mixture of ozone and natural gas! I never would have guessed this. But the D&D technician caught it immediately. The strange odor is now completely gone and the air smells fresh. As a side note, this entire Furnace/AC system was installed a few years ago by a contractor from Home Depot. They made several mistakes during the installation, including incorrectly wiring the thermostat into the system, and incorrect installation of the humidifier. I now see that they got the electrostatic air purifier and gas line wrong as well. I'm very grateful to the D&D technician for getting to the bottom of a subtle problem so quickly and restoring this relatively new system to proper operation in such a professional manner.

We?ve used them for years and years. Their price was reasonable. They do good work and they are responsive. They are reliable.

I switched from another company to them. They were just wonderful. This was the first winter that I wasn?t cold. They knew what they were doing and they were great. I was more comfortable than I have ever been. Their price was good.

i called this morning and , miracle of miracles ,they said someone would be here between 12-3 pm today ivan came at approx. 12:45 and replaced water panel and hose and explained the whole system cogently and succinctly also made a few other recommendations and helpful hints that's what i call good service

No problem. Came on time, did a clean, professional job. Davis and Davis put in the old water heater 12 years ago, and they are a good firm.

Our upstairs heat pump was not cooling. It hadn't been great all summer but it finally just stopped cooling. And the heat had not been great the winter before. Neither of us had ever had a heat pump so we weren't sure what was wrong or even really how to maintain it. The tech that came was incredibly nice and very efficient. He determined that the freon was low, which affects both the cooling and the heat. I believe there were a few other issues as well. The tech was fast, explained thoroughly but very quickly (you pay by time)what was wrong and how to repair it. We were very pleased with the company.
