They did a good job. He was no hard sale, he was very honest. He also came out and serviced my control board to make sure the freezing would not occur on a different occasion.

A couple of years ago I received service for my HVAC system from your company (the service tech is no longer with your company). I was so impressed by him that when my system recently broke I again called your company for service. Your Tech, Craig, performed this and again I was wowed with the service. I immediately requested a quote for a new system. ?Dennis Boccabella? provided me with this quote after meeting with me and analyzing my needs. I received 6 competitive bids from some of the largest companies in the area (including a COSTCO recommended company). No other salesman acquitted himself with the professionalism demonstrated by Mr. Boccabella. In fact, the others were not objective in their analysis and gave me pause with each of their proposals (none of which were professionally prepared as Mr. Boccabella?s was). I was very confident selecting your company because my good experiences were so far above what other companies give. And, since the temperature was going to reach 4 degrees I asked for expedited service. Everyone including the woman on the phone (Mary Ann?) reacted in a friendly and professional manner and the system was installed a day early on that 4 degree day by Jorge and Andrew, 2 more very polite, clean and professional technicians. I have never before written to praise the work of a Company. But, your people have performed so well in this age of poor and impolite service that I feel this is needed to thank all involved (I am sure there are others in the back office that help make this possible. This makes me feel good to see that I am not expecting too much of other professional workers. I am a professional salesman myself and again must praise Dennis Boccabella for the manner in which he acquitted himself. We have an older unit about 25+ years old according to the technician. The parts seemed a bit high priced. It also seemed that the more work that was done the more problems. I'm not sure if all of the work was necessary or not. In the end, we got our heat back. I might use Davis and Davis again. I'm not sure. I may look at other vendors recommended by others in my neighborhood.

He spent about one and a half minute "inspecting" the gas furnace in the basement, two minutes outside with the air conditioner units and probably a minute in the attic with the heat pump. He: "I'll have a package for you ready first thing tomorrow morning. I probably drop it of; emails don't always work." I have to admit, he did mention 21 or so discounts I could be eligible for. It was a free estimate, so I am just amused.

Job was completed in a day and a half. Jorge and Roberto showed up promptly each day at 8:30 and worked diligently to remove my old system and install the new HVAC. They cleaned up and hauled everything away. John Harper provided me with all the info I needed for replacing my old system. I would certainly recommend Davis and Davis to anyone. I have been using them for 25 years and did not even consider anyone else for this project.

I started a service plan with the company. They explained it to my over the phone and sent the paperwork. They have been great.

Have used the company twice in the last 2 months. First for a pre-winter service of my furnace and then to solve an issue with non-starting. Happy with the service overall but they are a little on the pricey side

I had a gas leak in my house. The gas company tagged and shut off my furnace until repaired/replaced. Davis and Davis came out right away and found I had cracked fuel burners which allowed the gas to escape into my house. My furnace was over twenty years old and we decided to replace the unit. They replaced the complete furnace and A/C Unit. They arrived on time, worked fast and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. They hauled away our old unit and before I knew it --- we were up and running with heat again. I would highly recommend them for any future work! They are the best.

They completed the job in a day and they didn’t give us a hard sell. The person that came out actually worked for the company for a long time and he wasn’t a salesman that came out to talk to us about the furnace. They were helpful in choosing the right kind of furnace that would be best for our house. They didn’t really try to up sell us. It was something that was more than we needed and which we really appreciated. We had inspectors that came to our house and both of them said that this was a really good company. One of them actually told us that if he had to replace his furnace, he would use this company. We would use them again in the future if we needed to, but hopefully we don’t have to.

Dwight showed up on time and performed a thorough examination of the boiler and our entire heating system. Over the years, we've had several companies come to address problems with the system. Dwight did a better job than any of the others explaining how our (somewhat complicated) system works. He also explained why we'd most likely be better off replacing the boiler than fixing it, mostly because of faulty installation. It was clear, based on what Dwight showed us and explained, that he was not simply attempting to gain additional business for the company. He was polite, pleasant, and knowledgeable. We also had a positive experience working with Dennis on obtaining a proposal for replacing the boiler.

I've been using the company for several years now and find that they give good service and advice.

Nice young man who explained what he was doing and shared the physical results. Build up for 12 years was normal. Expensive, but due to the size of our house and it being the first time ev, we felt reasonable. he did not try to sell any additional services except cleaning dryer vents, which we did not need.

Went very well. Serviceman arrived in specified time window. Repair options and potential risks were clearly explained and there was no pressure as to what to do right then. Easy to work with.

The first time I called Davis and Davis the phone was answered by their very professional and knowledgeable receptionist. She immediately set up an appointment for a free estimate. The representative showed up right on time, quickly inspected the old boiler and discussed with me exactly what I wanted. I received a detailed proposal with a price within two days. I had four other proposals to compare it to and Davis and Davis was the most professionally presented and the best price. I accepted the proposal and a date was set about 10 days later. Within in a few days Mr. Davis, the owner, and a colleague came by to do the measurements and make the detailed plans for the installation. On the day of the installation four servicemen and two trucks arrived. Drop cloths and cardboard were put down covering every area where they worked. They arrived right on time at 8:30am and worked diligently until the job was completed at 4:00pm. They tested every section of my floorboard hotwater heating system after it was installed. Then they installed a carbon monoxide detector on each floor that did not already have one. Rarely do I run into a company that is so professional and reasonably priced! I would highly recommend them to anyone who has HVAC work to be done.

Chris was punctual, polite, neat and did the necessary work in a very reasonable amount of time. Davis and Davis is well-known in this area for excellent work, and it was a relief to find that they had radiant heat experts. Several other companies I contacted do not.

My experience overall has went very well. We have been using them for about 10 years. They are very helpful and knowledgeable in their field. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of work they provide. I would highly recommend this company to others.

I recently called their company hoping to speak with someone about their duct services and scheduling an assessment of HVAC repairs we need. Their receptionist answered the phone at 5:30 PM, let me spend several minutes explaining my situation and then asked if I wanted to schedule an emergency service. When I said no, she then told me that their normal business hours were until 4:30 PM and that any calls after that had to be for emergencies and that I could call back during normal business hours to speak with someone if I wanted. She did not offer to take my name or contact information or anything. They are obviously not interested in new business. I am very disappointed and won't be calling again.

Davis and Davis have been servicing my 30 year old AC/Furnace since I moved into this house about 6 years ago. They have done an excellent job keeping the AC going for this long, however it finally died and it was time to replace the unit. They were willing to try to fix the old unit but I was done sinking money into it. I wanted to use Davis for the replacement but got estimates from two other companies as well that were well rated on Angie's List. Davis and Davis estimate came in lower than the other two companies while also offering higher quality units than the AC and furnace offered by the other two companies. The install was seamless. The workers were great, friendly, and punctual. The install took two days and we really couldn't think of one thing we would have changed. We will continue to use Davis and Davis although i will probably be seeing less of them now that I have a whole new unit. Definitely recommend them for purchases of new units or just service on existing ones.

From quotation to final installation, D&D was efficient and professional. They left no mess and the new system works great. They took the time to make sure we understood the system and had all the rebate paperwork pre-filled. No worries.

Result is only somewhat better. Bedrooms 3 & 4 are still warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter than bedrooms 1 & 2, even though all bedrooms are on the same level and are controlled by the same thermostat. We have to run more a/c or heat on the whole bedroom level just to get the questionable bedrooms comfortable.

Many things we like about Davis and Davis. They are responsive, prompt, punctual, did the install work well and respond quickly when we have had some minor follow up issues. Why they did not gets "A"s all around: - While we were getting bids for our new HVAC, we specifically requested a two-stage air conditioner. We selected Davis and Davis because they had the lowest bid, but discovered only a couple days before the install (after we had turned down other companies) that the unit in our quote was a single stage unit. (We could not tell this from the serial number on the quote & since we had emailed our requirements, we assumed, incorrectly in this case, that the bid met all our requirements.) We went with the Davis & Davis proposal anyway because: 1) After some frantic calls, the salesman persuaded us that a 2-stage was not necessary & assured us that we have a temperature guarantee; & 2) It was HOT outside and we needed a new unit ASAP. To go back to the other bids would have delayed install at least by 2 weeks and temps were in the 90s. We do not feel that our new unit cools the house, especially on our second floor, as well as our original unit did. A rep from D&D came to check the system and said the significantly hotter temperature upstairs is due to under-sized ducts. This may be the case, and perhaps we notice it more because of the smaller, "more efficient" condensing unit we installed. So while the price quoted by Davis and Davis was marginally less than some of their competitors - we in the end got less for less. (Hence the B for Price) - Note that in the summer, Davis and Davis subcontracts installation to other teams. The gentlemen who installed our HVAC were knowledgeable, professional & very tidy. No complaints there, but they were not Davis and Davis staff. - The B for quality is because the bid did not exactly match our request & our upstairs does not cool as well & we have had a couple leaks in the new unit (which was a manufacturer defect - not D&D fault. To their credit they came and repaired quickly and satisfactorily).

John Harper came out for my estimate. He was very friendly and explained all the details. He asked if I preferred a specific brand and then told me the one that was cheaper but he still felt would work well. He provided an e-mail estimate that afternoon and then the nice booklet came in the mail a couple of days later. One of the other provider I got an estimate from was a bit confusing, and I didn't feel that John was like this at all. One the day of my install, they showed up a bit early and got everything done with out any problems. You could hardly tell they had been there. Before they left they answered my questions and packed up everything. The techs were friendly and hard-working. I would definitely reccomend them again.

It went very well and doesn't appear to be having the same problem.

They were excellent. They helped pick the best unit.

I had called three or four different companies to try and do this and they did a great job and did what they said they could but there is something still wrong with the drain at the base of my tub. I also talked to other people who had built it around the same time in my area and two years ago a contractor from other company had told that I have to replace my entire line as my house was built in 1932 so the pipes are cast iron so if there is corrosion in them it will not drain. It works better for a little while and lasts about as long as any other plumber has been able to get it to last. They sneaked it and kind of looked around to see and checked the sink in the second storey bathroom. I have a washer, dryer, sink and tub and they looked at all of it to determine as all are going to the same down pipe and they actually moved the dryer. They put some effort in to and they sneaked it both from the tub and sink side. They were the first people to sneak it from the sink side.
