BLINKHORN PLUMBING

Description of Work: Blinkhorn Plumbing sent first one, and then a second, plumber to my home on Saturday to fix pinhole leaks in visible sections of copper pipe in my 1950s home. The work was completed on Saturday morning after the whole Blinkhorn crew was pulled on to an emergency job on Friday elsewhere, and so couldn't get to my home on Friday as originally planned. The work was completed quickly and, as far as I can tell, well. Most importantly, the plumber working on pipes in the ceiling of my garage, when asked, examined all the visible pipe for additional leaks and recommended that I not replace a full garage-worth of pipe (serving the second floor of the home), but rather do a less expensive repair now and then wait and see if other pinholes develop. I appreciated that Blinkhorn plumbing did not try to worry me into spending more money than necessary. And they came in right on estimate, too.

Description of Work: Changed seal on leaking toilet and in another bathroom changed faucet. I provided the faucet. Very pleasant. Answered my questions and most importantly, completely cleaned up after himself and any old parts. He was very efficient and seemed to really know what he was doing. He correctly diagnosed a very strange 3rd problem we were having. Hot water was coming out of the cold water tap in a sink. The water exchange in the SHOWER was broken yet this impacted the sink.Ordered a new part and in 10 days came back and fixed it. Did not charge me any extra front end time like they do on a new call. With the part the cost was additional $225. The only negative was the cost of their service. If money isn't an issue, then they are top notch.

Description of Work: Installation of appliance, repaired leak under kitchen sink, gave estimate for additional work. Prompt service. Very easy to work with owner and the plumber who came to our home. Will use them again and have recommended them.

Description of Work: Job was simply to install a new faucet on a laundry tub. I provided the faucet. Technician came about an hour and a half after scheduled. He entered the house at precisely 12:00 noon and completed the job and left the house at 12:27. Plumber supplied new water supply lines running from cutoff valves beneath the laundry tub to the faucet. For this job, involving $66 of plumber supplied parts and about 27 minutes (at the very most) of labor, he charged me $246 which, deducting the cost of the parts he provided amounts to more than $360 per hour for labor. THIS IS GOUGING OF THE FIRST ORDER!!!

Description of Work: We had a clogged toilet. I called the company to come in to clear it. As it turned out, something had fallen in which caused the problem. They spent hours trying to unclog the toilet, couldn't and said we needed a new toilet. To be honest, there was some confusion here, I thought I made it clear that we wanted them to get and install a new toilet--the service person did not understand that. I called later to see where the service person was, and he had gone home for the weekend. The company would not do anything to deal with the misunderstanding, although the owner said he would refund $100. We got another company to come in several days later. He took out the toilet, took it outside, cleared out the trap--a simple fix for a fraction of the money.

Description of Work: Replace broken garbage disposal. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. He also gave me suggestions for fixing our broken dishwasher. I have used this service before and definitely will use them in the future.

Description of Work: The floor drain in our laundry room sprewed water when the wsher was running. The cause, according to the company's rep, was lint blocked the drain pipe in the ground. However, my wife says that the plumbing setup for the washer doesn't require a lint trap on the hose from the water. Who am I to believe. Well, the one that I sleep with and is my best friend!! As snaking, the water from the washer doesn't cause an overflow from the floor drain.

Description of Work: I would recommend Blinkhorn for their prompt, quick and inexpensive service that they provided at our home. Their two man crew took care of a leaky pipe (appox. 10 feet long) in about 2 hours, where other plumbing services quoted us a full day of labor and was $500 more expensive than Blinkhorn. For all future plumbing needs, i would recommend Blinkhorn.
