We selected Benchmark after extensive research, and having compared multiple bids from other firms. The experience was exceptional, from the comprehensive initial assessment, to the rapid production of a very competitive estimate, to the fantastic crew. The work was performed rapidly and professionally, with the entire project being completed slightly ahead of schedule despite several days of rain. Our house now looks exactly as we'd envisioned it, and we'll certainly have Benchmark back for any future painting projects.

Benchmark came out and made our place look like new again. Excellent service, dedicated and professional. It was a big project but they knocked it out in record time and had great attention to detail. Best of all, they gave us a quote in the fall when every other painter company wouldn't even talk to us. They came out the first week of spring and did an amazing job!

Andres who is one of the Sr. Estimators and Owners of the Co. was truly a Professional. He provided insight on how to save money, and did not try to oversell us. Once we settled on the scope of work, Eric who is the Foreman was THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! He pointed out defects in our drywall, and he and his team were very meticulous, and ensured all issues were resolved. They painted my entire home, and upon completion, you could not tell that the house had work performed. They were clean and made sure all areas were in place as they found it. A WONDERFUL COMPANY!!!

Great contractor! Have used them twice now for work on my parent's home, which was made all the more challenging due to decades of cigarette smoke from one of my parents. But Benchmark was up to the challenge and did the work at a very competitive rate. Jacques, Sandy and all of the various paint crew members were a joy to work with.

Benchmark was great and very professional. We had to delay their start due to some other contractors getting behind schedule and Jacques et al were very accommodating. They prepped and painted basically our entire house and finished on time despite the delay. Considering they were working on walls that had been painted, patched, and wallpapered over countless times in the last 100 years, everything looks great. We received quotes from a bunch of other companies and Benchmark's was very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone with painting needs in future.

The crew was punctual, fast, and courteous. They did a great job of dust control. They even made another small repair while they were here, for the same price! Will definitely use them again for future painting and carpentry work.

I was surprised instead of two days to complete as projected, it was done in one. They cleaned up and assisted me in putting some things back. Very helpful and very professional.

Benchmark did a fantastic job. Adolfo and his team were great: on time, professional and really excellent craftsmen. I had a little bit of water damage on a ceiling and around a couple of windows and he made them look like new. The painting was really superior. The change of color breaks between ceilings and walls and walls and baseboards were flawless. They also replaced some moulding around a door that had been damaged and I was amazed at how great it looked and how fast they did it.

We really enjoyed working with Benchmark, from the initial call to set up the estimate, meeting with Andres and then working with everyone on the crew. They were all very professional and willing to go above and beyond expectation. They arrived everyday on time, worked inside or out depending on the rainy fall weather and cleaned up well before leaving for the day. They also replaced rotted exterior window trim and power washed the driveway, deck and patio. Would definitely hire them again.

Mr. Molina was a joy to work with. Even though the company was running out of exterior painting slots before the weather grew cold, he found a slot for us. His assessment of the job was very professional, and he was willing to work with our request that the house be painted in a particular order (we didn't want wet paint on the front of the house on Halloween). The finished painting is very good quality.

Best ever. I’ve learned over the past 20 years to never use anyone other than Benchmark. As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for.” Their team couldn’t have been more professional or accommodating. I am always comfortable with them even to the point of leaving them in the house while I run errands. Alway a great experience with beautiful results.

It went better than expected. David, our project coordinator replied quickly to my inquiries, before we engaged the company and during the job. After an initial hiccup which was resolved quickly, the whole job went smoothly. Fidel and his crew were professional and thorough. My house looks beautiful!

I've had Benchmark do painting for us a couple times, and I've been happy with their work and also their warranty (they came back and repainted when we had some chipping). However, this review is for staining. We had benchmark re-stain some stair rails and a door for us, and they look terrible. The proposal says light sanding, which I suppose I should have known wouldn't be sufficient for the wood to absorb new stain, but I also feel as the professionals, they should have warned me it wasn't going to work. Since the wood wasn't sufficiently sanded, the stain just sits on top. It looks like I painted it brown, and it doesn't match the floor at all, which was the whole point. There was also a spot on the door that they couldn't reach, so they just didn't stain it. You can only see when the door is open, but still; it looks a mess (pic below). It wasn't cheap either. For the price, I think they should have sanded it all the way down and actually re-stained. This was awhile ago, but I'm still bothered by these terrible looking railings in my house that I don't want to repay someone to fix, so thought I should warn others.

Amazing! Andres is responsive and professional, and his team did an amazing job painting the interior of our home. Even when my project scope increased, they were flexible and met my deadline. I highly recommend Benchmark and will definitely use them again in the future.

Benchmark did a great job replacing and repairing rotted wood on the outside of our townhome, and also painted the exterior and interior of the townhome. Their workmanship is excellent. They provided good attention to detail and explained the work that would be done before the job, and followup after.

Last spring we hired Benchmark for two jobs – one in March 2017 and one in late April 2017. We are now back to square one with both jobs. The first job (repairing a woodpecker hole and replacing wood trim around a window) was very expensive ($1800) but came with a one-year warranty so we went ahead with it. After a few months the paint started to peel and the replaced wood warped. The carpenter came out to look at it in November 2017 and they promised to fix it in the next two weeks. I called multiple times and sent several emails, but they were never returned. So much for the one-year warranty! The second job (repainting the back porch) was a complete disaster. It was supposed to take three days and took several weeks. They did not prime the porch and used the wrong paint (floor paint for cement – not bare wood as specified on the can). Within a day the paint started to bubble and had to be removed. They sanded off the paint and re-painted but again it bubbled. They replaced a few rotten pieces of wood, but they all came apart within a few months. They also washed the brushes with a hose in our garden right next to our organic fruit trees! Benchmark gave us a two-year warranty on this second job – and a notable discount because of their missteps. However, even with the discount, we spent several thousand dollars and are now back to square one. They would not come back to repair either job because they gave us a break on the price. The quality of their work was poor – and their customer service was disappointing. Perhaps our experience was an anomaly, but our experience fell well short of expectations. Do not make the same mistake we did by trusting Benchmark!
