I worked with Gary in getting the estimate. There was a 3-man crew who did the work. Very pleased with the quality of the work, the windows and the professionalism. Would definitely recommend them without hesitation. They arrived around 8 am and were finished before 3 pm.

Ordering was easy, AWS worked with me (the buyer of a house) and the sellers to coordinate access for measurement and installation. Work was done after seller left. Price was good, better that other quote received -- I needed only one tempered window and Tom threw it in at regular glass cost. Crew of 5 arrived on time and got right to work. Had all the windows installed in a few hours and spend the rest of the day framing and insulating the windows. The door was replaced the following day. They had to adjust the size of the opening and filled the gaps with shims and foam insulation. The crew cleaned up after themselves and actually left the place in better condition that when they arrived. The framing of the windows looks fantastic, better than before and they caulked some holes that they found near the windows. Hired on recommendation of a friend and Angie's list and would hire again.

I needed old metal-framed warehouse windows replaced in my business. I got estimates from 3 window companies. Bob Mascola's was the lowest, plus he's provided wonderful customer service throughout the entire process. I needed my window installation rushed and Bob was able to get my windows ordered and installed within the tight timeframe he promised. I love my new windows and will definitely be using American Windows when I replace the rest of the windows (at my business as well as at my home, when the time comes).

They did a terrific job overall! The technicians were nice, polite, and cleaned up. Everything went perfectly.

Our entire experience with American Windows was excellent. From our initial meeting to the completion of the window installation, we could not be happier. They were punctual, helpful with suggestions, reliable and very easy to work with.

The only thing I was disappointed with was that I was assured there wouldn't be any subcontractors and there ended up being a subcontractor who put in the windows. However, they did compensate me for this by installing a screen door.

We shopped a long while before settling on American Windows and Siding. Jim, our rep, made the process painless and without the pressure tactics we experienced from other vendors. The crew that did the work did a great job. Fast, clean and for a fair price. What more do you want?

Excellent experience! Their estimate was slightly lower than the middle range of prices received. I literally cannot compliment this company enough on the installation experience - particularly given the almost 100 degree weather in which it was completed. Luis and the other two installers worked constantly, explained what they were doing, answered all all my questions, and ensured each window fit perfectly. Even through they had very serious problems removing my old windows, no evidence exists of those problems with the completed job. I think they went above and beyond the the project as contracted in replacing wood around some of my windows. Plus, the whole crew was nice, friendly, and easy to deal with. Based on my experience, I highly recommend this company.

The people who were doing the installation really did an excellent job. The person who sold us the job, Bob Mascola, was very personable and he really knew what he was telling and knew his product very well. He was very patient with our choice and was low pressure. They didn’t get painted trim for the inside windows so he came by and painted it himself. The price was very reasonable.

After shopping around for windows for our home, we decided, based on price, to use American Windows. Little did we know that this would amount to the WORST experience we have ever had in the process of a renovation. Mike Rogers, the owner and salesperson, was initially very nice and professional, however, when we were getting down to making the final decisions regarding style, he became a bit abrupt and curse. This only became MUCH worse...When the windows were received and ready to be installed, we still had contractors working at our home on painting, drywall, bathroom renovations and various repair projects. Mike Rogers informed my husband that they preferred to not work while other contractors were still present. This accommodation could not be made because we were nearing our move-in date. The morning that the old windows were being removed, at 8:00 am we received a frantic phone call from my contractor- begging us to come to the house. Apparently, the window guys had come into our home, took crowbars and picks and began smashing, yes, SMASHING, every window out. GLASS WAS EVERYWHERE. The house inside temperature dropped to 30 degrees because all the windows were smashed out and the doors were left open. The freshly painted rooms began to peel off...drywall wouldn't dry. Weeks of work was destroyed. In the process of removing the old windows and bringing in the new ones, our walls, ceiling and window frames were cracked, chipped, scratched (over $2000 in damage). The installers also began a fight with our contractor's workers- claiming that they were being "disrespectful," however, I find this hard to believe considering the workers have been in our home and had been a pleasure to deal with (considering they also spoke barely any English and could not possibly start a fight with the Engilish speaking installers). My husband and I rushed to the scene of the installation. My husband, discreetly walked in the house unknown to the installers and witnessed first hand them threatening to physically "beat up" our workers. They also used profanity, were banging up our house and acting overall, in a highly unprofessional manner. When my husband called Mike Rogers- he was MIA. Finally, I got on the phone with him. At this point, weeks of work at been destroyed, the window frames were cracked, my yard was covered in tiny shards of glass and the bricks around my windows were falling off. Needless to say, I was infuriated. And Mike Rogers was a complete and utter rude, nasty and unprofessional (insert expletive). The windows are ok. We had to have several of them re- installed because they were sloppily installed. They left fingerprints and handprints on EVERY window, no stickers were removed, and the caulking was a MESS. they left their caulk containers all over our property. We still find glass everywhere in the yard, side of the house and backyard. All I hope is that no other homeowner will suffer American Windows and Siding, as I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.

The price they quoted us was about $400 a window. They were very responsive about setting up an estimate and did follow up. Their choices seemed to be limited and there was one particular plan that they were suggesting and were saying what they recommend. Since it was the initial estimate, my wife and I hadn?t decided about getting the windows replaced. The people that we interacted with were professional and they seemed knowledgeable enough.

I called them for a quote and they came the next time day morning. They were recommended by my neighbors, who were very impressed by them. We received the quote via an email, within a day to a day and a half. They seemed expensive in comparison to the last time; I had a similar job done. I wanted a vinyl door, but, they were going to put a steel door. My experience with them has been good, just that I am still deciding what to do and work options. I may use services in future and for the job.

Gary Tober was a friendly and knowledgeable salesperson / low pressure. Installation was excellent by a friendly crew who cleaned up and left inside and outside very clean Would recommend Gary and team.

They did a fine job. They were punctual and professional. The quality of products was good. They went above and beyond. We had an issue with the previous door which the other company did not take back. However, American Windows took it and they replaced it for me for no additional costs. They came to address any concerns I had. They were very responsive. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Some and easy installation. They were able to install the new windows on window whic had existing plantation shutters, without damaging the shutters. Another firm we considered could not guarentee inmstalllation without damaging the shutters. ( Removal of the shutter would not have been posible as a DIY and estimate for removal and reinstallation were over $1000.00)

Company said they would do an estimate, and then never heard anything more from them.

Excellent job, materials and workmanship. They paid attention to details of the repair work, which was explained early by the homeowner and was included as part of the work contract. The contracted price was highly competitive based on five separate estimates for vinyl windows (ranging from $5000 to $20,000) and included $300 for replacement of the rotted wood. Some of the other firms that bid on this job were not willing to do the necessary repairs to the rotted wood in an acceptable manor, preferring instead to install new windows on top of rotted wood! In contrast, American Windows & Siding understood the problem and did a good job of estimating, contracting, and carrying out the work in a timely manner. Highly recommended!

I live in a DC rowhouse and most are crooked. I told the sales rep about this and they understood since they've worked in DC before. The window frames were measured twice several days before the installation. On the day of installation the crew realized that the measurements of the framing were a bit off. As a result the entire installation took an entire day (late into the evening), and additional work had to be done to reframe. I also had to pay extra for the reframing costs, even after everything was measured in advance. Gary the sales guy is great and I like working with him. I am not as confident with the crew. I think they do a decent job but I found them to be rushed in trying to get it done. It's been 3 years since I've had the windows installed. The only problems I've had is that the locks on two windows loosened somehow and had to be replaced, and I could not remove one of the windows for cleaning. Gary arranged for the same crew to come out and correct it - they did. Gary also came a few weeks later to replace the locks. He kept following up with me until we got an appointment. The company kept their word on their work which I truly appreciate. I won't use them again because all of my windows have been replaced but I would recommend them.

The job went very well. I have left the "Quality" as an N/A because a good portion of Quality is in how well things hold up over time (in my opinion). But INITIAL quality and installation was excellent. Well cut joints and caulking between. Very very nice job. Big improvement in the look of my house. Every bit of wood was covered over with either vinyl or aluminum as I had requested. Old siding was removed and replaced. Job was done within 3 days. No surprises. Straight shooters.

I checked out 3 other window/door companies; American Windows and Siding had the best product for the price. I was kept informed of the status of the order. The installation was quick and professional, and the sallesman followed up to ensure I was happy before the crew left the job site. Overall a great experience.

Over a period of five days (in the snow and cold) American Window Crews replaced all the siding, all the windows and sliding glass doors, put in new vinyl soffit, covered the front porch in vinyl and vinyl clad aluminum, replaced the gutters and downspouts, and covered all the windows and sills in vinyl clad aluminum. American Windows coordinated the removal of the windows with the installation of the new siding so everything was caulked and sealed properly. The window crew replaced the windows one room at a time, closing the door so heat loss was kept to a minimum. All the windows were done in one day, then the doors were done the next day. At the end of each day all of the American Windows' crews were very careful to clean up after themselves. All the crews were very very professional and took great care to ensure the impact of the work on my family was kept to a minimum. Their single goal seemed to be sure that I was satisfied the the product and service I received. Every time I had a question they unfailingly answered it to my satisfaction. When their was a problem, they resolved it. In fact, when there was a very slight problem with the fit of the doors, American Windows contacted Sunrise Windows, who flew a technical representative out to look at the doors. Instead of blaming the installers (Amercian Windows & Siding), the Sunrise team removed the door panels and reinstalled them to try to fix the problem. When that did not work, they ordered new panels for the doors! As a former builder I was very very impressed with the entire operation, from the professionalism of Mr. Ed Dunn to the willingness of Sunrise Windows to fix the problem NOT affix blame! Not only did I get a first class product at a great price, I got exceptional service. I highly recommend American Windows & Siding of VA. Inc.
