American Windows & Siding of VA, Inc., specializes in custom windows, siding, doors, and roof systems. We use the finest quality products and labor available, and all our work is guaranteed for your peace of mind. Owner operated and employee owned, the company was established in 1991. We have two locations for your convenience - one in Fairfax, Virginia and one in Kensington, Maryland. Description of Work: American Windows and Siding installed all new windows, front door and storm door, 2 sliding patio doors and vinyl siding. They have wrapped all exposed wood, so there is no maintenance on the exterior of the house. The weather delayed installation. The neighbors have all compliment us on the look of the house. American Windows and Siding is great and I would use them in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: New front door and storm door. The door is beautiful and the installation was done well. My only complaint is that there are several nicks and paint scratches on framing. The touch up paint only does a little to conceal the small gouges. |Otherwise the company is good and the representatives we dealt with were nice and professional.

Description of Work: I reached out for help replacing a door. I was asked the send a photo of the door to be replaced - I did and then I never heard back. So I emailed AGAIN - and still did not hear back. I've now reached out three times and give up.

Description of Work: My wife and I were in the process of getting estimates for replacement windows in our condo. We contacted American Windows to provide us a quote for new windows. Gary came out to our home to provide an estimate. I found Gary to be well versed in the window brand that was currently installed in our condo. He provided us with excellent options with respect to our window issues. He was very honest and not focused on making a quick sale. He is a credit to American Windows and I will be contacting them in the future for my contracting needs.

Description of Work: We used this company 2 years ago to replace all our windows and were so pleased with their work we had them install siding and gutters. e had done a lot of research, so when Bob came to the house we made our selections, negotiated price, timetable, contract, etc very easily.His primary interest is customer satisfaction so, for example, when the wrong type air vent was supplied for the kitchen fan, he refused to just clean up the old one as his foreman suggested, but personally went to the warehouse and searched until he found the appropriate article. In addition to siding, we had trim we don't want to paint again and the crew clad it in aluminum beautifully. We did have to have the workers back a few times to finish details, but I think that's because they did the initial work in freezing February weather. At any rate, Bob did not request the ten percent final payment we had held back until our agreed time to pay it. We would happily do business with them again.

Service was excellent from day one. They were responsive during the estimate and price compare process. The team finished the windows in one day with high quality work. We had a minor issue with the screens, but they immediately took initiative to get them fixed. The frames inside and out were well done. Overall a great experience. I only wish all services matched up to their standards!
Description of Work: We had 24 windows replaced including 3 large picture windows. They even re-framed the windows on the inside. Service was excellent from day one. They were responsive during the estimate and price compare process. The team finished the windows in one day with high quality work. He quoted us with Pella windows. His quote is really great. He came on time to give the estimate and he was very polite, nice and was not pushy. We really liked him. He was a bit delayed in getting us the estimate, but he did call us to let us know this. Overall he's been great! We are still gathering estimates, but he is high on the list so far.

Mediocre. Solicited bid from American Windows because they scored well in another rating service. Best price of two bids. Last (and 13th) window arrived broken. Required THREE return trips to install. This was KC Pella's fault, and they admitted it. KC Pella doesn't seem to pay attention to detail. First size was wrong; then hardware missing; finally got it right --FIVE WEEKS AFTER original installation date. Caulking was only okay. A replacement window is nearly all caulk. Required follow-up visit to re-caulk gaps on outside and sloppiness on inside. 13 windows were installed by 3 workers in less than a day --which seemed fast to me, and the need for a worker to return for significant touch-up indicates they worked to fast.

These guys did a wonderful job with my windows. They did a beautiful work. A very neat very clean and straight forward job. These guys came in did their job in a timely manner and did everything phenomenally. They also fixed a small portion of gutters that were a bit worn and that was also done very well.
Description of Work: They replaced nineteen windows around my entire house. They were double pane, with wooden window frames. There were average sized windows. They also did pressure replacement of gutters. It was about forty feet of gutters. The old windows were removed prior to the service.

In Washington DC, older homes settle a lot. When the sales rep came to take measurements, he noticed the slight crookedness. There was also a concern that one of the windows would have to be re-framed. I was assured by the sales rep (nice guy) and later the owner that it would not be necessary. When the installers got there, 90 mins. late, everything was fine until the old windows were removed and they saw how crooked the frames were, they also said that 3 windows do need re-framing! The installers had to rebuild the frames, then take a trip to get more lumber for the re-framing. Long story short, my initial quote was $2600 yet I had to cough up an extra $700 for re-framing, lumber, labor, and it took 10 hours instead of 4 hours to do it all. Things happen, but the experience was more annoying and the job was OK. In the future, installers should do the measuring from the start to avoid these problems or surprises. I considered using them to do the front windows, but now I'm not confide
