I did not use their services, I asked for a refund that I have not received and got the run around when I called. Everything from let me see if you are approved for a refund to it will take ten days to two days to you need to contact your bank because we already processed it on a Friday of course so I had to wait until today to calthem back yet again.
Description of Work: I cancelled my move with this company because my daughter told me she used them before and the service was horrendous. They upcharged her for everything from moving supplies to time and fuel. I asked for a refund of my deposit and I still have not received it a month later and after calling at least five times.

This company did not arrive on our agreed on date of June 30th 2011..they finally arrived on July 1st 2011...I had placed a $100 deposit to hold the June 30th date to no avail. I was told by phone on several occasions that since I had a washer and dryer to move that my estimate was $300 for 3 men for 3 hours...and that it would be another $75/hr if we went over that. I was also told that "there would be further charges for boxes, bubble wrap or tape if I did not have my own". TWO men finally arrived at 2:45pm on July 1st...the day AFTER I was to be out of my old home. One man (either Herman or Fred) asked to look at the furnishings and boxes that I needed to have moved. I took him through our home which is a very small two story town home and we were really only living in 3 rooms of the home. All of our furnishings are more than 15-20 yrs old, including a 40 yr old queen mattress and box spring (with head and foot board), a sofa, chair, coffee table and a cedar chest from my grandmother when I was 16 yrs old (over 30 yrs old). After we walked through the home, one of the movers called "the office". When he got off the phone he said "we have quoted you a price of $1100 to move your stuff from this home to the other one. I was infuriated at this point. They did not offer me any compensation for getting to me a whole day late and inconveniencing not only me, but everyone else that I had lined up to do work on our home (that I had to pay for I might add). Their explanation of the extreme change in price was that they "would need to wrap all of our furniture in plastic to make it easier for them to carry...including bubble wrap at $2 per foot. They were going to bubble wrap our 40 yr old mattress!! "PER POLICY" is what I heard over and over. They also said they would have to tape any box that wasn't taped already (like if I had put all 4 sides inside of eachother to keep it shut like you might) at $4 per roll (very small roll)...and after packing our clothes and linens into trash bags (which I asked if that was alright on a previous phone conversation and was told it was ok)...they refused to move anything in a trash bag "because we could hurt ourselves on any hangars that might be in them", even though there were no hangars. I am on a fixed income and money was scarce. When all was said and done I had only $500 to work with considering the estimate. I called the office back to speak to the customer service person "Ella"...she was very rude to me on the phone stating "I'm doing YOU a favor by giving you the estimate before they move your stuff because I know you don't have a lot of money". Thanks for the update on my life. I was told many times "well, you can always just cancel us and we'll leave". I HAD to move on this date (actually the day before) and how many people do you know who can just cancel at the last second when they are moving? So, after this, I had to defer all of my furniture and had to leave it in my old home...they ended up moving 96 boxes (per their count.) and ONE cedar chest for $438....and all of it was moved just across the street. Had to leave my washer and dryer, sofa, chair, entertainment center, tables and chairs, coffee table, tv..I could go on and on. They also said "we will begin loading your things onto the truck, but if you don't have the money when we get over to your new home, we will have to store all of your things in our storage facility at your expense until you pay us and we'll have to file a police report". So basically, if you don't have the money we're going to hold your stuff hostage!! So they began moving my things from the old home at 3:45pm and said "we will have to stop here by 5pm to allow us 2 hrs to unload at the new home for your $500 payment". By the time they finished it was 6:45pm....the time on the contract read 3pm to 8pm for $500. I asked the moving man "you aren't leaving at 8pm, I get another hour and 15 mins". He said "then we have to wrap everything like we said before"...I said "then you at least need to change the time on the contract"....he said "we can not by policy change anything, but you can write your concerns on this comment sheet". So I wrote on there basically what I'm writing here...but somehow I'm sure it will be misplaced. Only by the grace of G-d did I get some of my other belongings out. A painter who had been working on our new home at the time the movers arrived, overheard the entire ordeal. He offered and stayed to help me move everything the two of us could carry between us (our bed head and foot boards, tables and chairs, a curio cabinet and many more boxes and items). After the movers left, the two of us moved things until almost 10pm, What I haven't mentioned is that I have psoriatic arthritis and a chronic pain condition including 3 herniated lumbar discs. The next day I could not even get out of bed due to pain. I should have never had to do what I did...and on top of it, I had to pay the painter who stayed to help me....but I only had the $60 left from the $500 quote to give him. We hire movers to MOVE things and expect that they will be upfront and honest about pricing and have some type of work ethic. What I will say on a positive note is that HERMAN and FRED, the men who actually did the moving, were courteous, empathetic and helpful...they really tried to help and seemed to understand why I was complaining. They never said a negative word about their company...but again, they didn't have to...the company did enough damage to themselves on their own. Thank you Herman and Fred for being so nice to me on moving day. NEVER EVER use this company...they also go by the name of "Cross Country Movers" I have noticed when pulling up their information. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will be notifying the BBB and the States Attorneys office also. Thank you ANGIE's LIST for listening and taking my story.
Description of Work: This moving company moved my belongings from a small two story town home (1100sq ft) to a 3 story town home literally no more than 200 feet from my first home. They were to arrive on Thursday, June 30th, 2011 between 2pm and 4pm. When I called on Monday June 26th to confirm this appointment, they attempted to ask me to switch my day to July 1st "because they were having trouble getting enough employees to cover the several appointments they had made". I explained to them that I could not move my day and that I had paid the $100 deposit they asked for to keep that date of June 30th. So, at this point they agreed to arrive on June 30th between 2pm and 4pm....they subsequently, after many phone calls during the entire day on my part up until 9:30pm, they eventually told me that they had a "flat tire" and could not come...never did arrive on June 30th...they finally arrived to move my belongings on July 1st 2011 at 2:45pm (arrival time was to be 12pm to 2pm on this day).
