The owner of the company came to my home to give me an estimate. His presentation was excellent. He explained in detail what was involved in the removal and the hauling away of two gigantic trees in my yard. His attention to every detail was very impressive. It is no wonder his company has such a great reputation. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to hire a true professional. It is nice to see a local business that really cares about what they do.

A backyard plum tree was removed with stump. Area was cleared of overgrown shrubbery. Area was leveled and cleared.

I had called for a few other estimates and they were by far the most reasonably priced. They did an unbelievable job. They had a very small area to get it down safely and everything came out perfect.

ClearTree was very professional from start to finish. We received a discount for mentioning Angies List and also a senior discount.

Clear Tree did an outstanding job in a difficult environment. Two other well-respected tree service companies declined to do the work. Prior to doing the job, Clear Tree sent several people out to assess the risks of working between the electric lines. They also advised me on protecting my neighbors' property during the tree felling. On the day of the job, they arrived with a huge crane, parked it in a nearby parking lot, threaded the cab between the electric wires, and carefully dismantled the tree, at times reaching across two yards. During the cutting, a crew disposed of the branches and logs. After the felling was completed, they wrestled a stump grinder through the narrow passageway, and ground the stump and adjacent roots, leaving a flat surface of shredded wood chips. The entire job took about seven hours. The entire operation was well-organized, efficient, and professional. Their price was not cheap, but the final price exactly matched the estimate.

This was our first time having them out. They were great. The prices were reasonable. They were very professional. They cleaned up. If we needed more work done, we would have them again.

Their cleanup was excellent! I couldn't believe the results. They were very good. From November until the end of April, they are pretty much giving you a reduce rate. Not too many people are having work done that time of year. Whoever goes to them now may pay more money than I did. I have had other people cut trees down, and I have never had as good of work done. Their stump grinder broke on a Monday or Tuesday. They called me and told me they were coming on a Saturday morning. The owner and leader of the crew came with the crew and operated the stump grinder. They may be a bit higher priced than other companies, but I have never been around another company like this. They came on time. They gave an approximate time of when they would finish except for the stump grinder breaking. The ground was a bit wet because it rained before that. They put plywood down to drive their equipment on. That is something that I've never seen before.

Mike (the owner) was awesome to deal with. He was friendly and quick to respond. They were very patient when explaining what needed to be done when he came out for the estimate, and then what they had done and what to expect after the job was finished. I would recommend them in a heart beat!

I interviewed three companies at first only to trim the tree. Later I realized the tree should be cut down due to it being too large for the area. It was too close to power lines. The Cleartree rep was the only one who told me it was too close to power lines and the power company needed to trim it back first. They arranged for the power company to trim first. Cleartree's price to remove it was only slightly higher than the highest bidder's cost to simply trim it. The crew arrived on time and did a very good job of cutting the tree down without injuring any of a large number of close by plants in my and my neighbor's yards. I expected some damage and there was none. They cut a second stump of a smaller tree to the ground at no charge.

They showed up and gave me an estimate right away. They then showed up to do the work. Everyone including the office staff was helpful. The clean up was good from where the tree had fallen.

They came on time, did an excellent job, and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. They did not mess up the lawn even with the huge branches from the swamp maple. I was very impressed by their skill, service and price. I have recommended them to friends, and will certainly call them for further tree services. My only regret is that I couldn't take time off from work to watch how they managed with the big maple tree!

The company come out when promised brought 3-4 trucks and 8-10 workers and had everything completed within an hour and they cleaned everything up as if there were ever trees in the area. What a great job.

Cleartree was professional at all times. There were a few delays in getting the work done because we have had a real wet year in Baltimore. I was always kept apprised of the situation and felt they were making a strong effort to get the work done quickly (I was in no rush.) They did the job on the day they said they would and they cleaned up completely afterwards.

They were courteous and prompt but they were just too expensive. I decided not to get the tree done.

ClearTree did an absolutely excellent job pruning the Bradford pear tree in my front yard. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and recommend them to others.

I called ClearTree in order to compare its estimate to competators. ClearTree's representative came to my home and discussed the terms of their contract. At first, I did not like that ClearTree gave me one estimate that did not fluxuate depending on the level of work that BGE might have to perform (see "Service Performed" for and explanation for BGE involvement). However, after interviewing other companies I have determined that ClearTree's policy simplifies things by offering a single candid, fair, and upfront deal. Initially I asked ClearTree to leave the chips and tree trunk. In my mind I was going to offset expenses by creating my own oak mulch, raise a garden bed, and use the trunk as firewood etc. The ClearTree representative was very accomodating and designed a special plan to send the chips to certain locations. To make a long story short, I changed my mind at the last minute- ClearTee again was very understanding. I also had to request that the job be performed within a particular time frame. I needed it to be complete for my daughter's birthday and before I returned to work the following weekday. Once again, ClearTree was accomodating. Then, I received a call from ClearTree informing me that the date of work was in jeopardy. BGE was not going to be able to be able to perform their part of the tree removal due to a snaffo. ClearTree smoothed the potentially difficult situation by advocating for me and somehow getting BGE's crew to come the very next day!! ClearTree also had to had to juggle their schedule so that they could comeon the new day. The owner was very aware that my daughter's birthday date and setting could be compromised. He made it his priority to work with me to make sure this day would go as planned. After BGE's crew had been working for over 6 hours meticulously removing each limb little by little, ClearTree had to once again collaborate with me. The county refuse center was about to close! It became clear that unless something was done the job might not be able to be completed in one day. ClearTree had not cut a single limb and yet had to put into motion a plan to deposit or store the tree waste. This would normally cost an additional amount to rent a dumpster. However, ClearTree did not charge us any more!! Once again ClearTree problem solved. All in all ClearTree proved to be a flexible, family oriented, accomodating company!! Thank you ClearTree for everything!!

I got an estimate from another tree service company and Cleartree was almost half of what they wanted to charge us. I was pretty shocked at the price difference and it almost made me a little nervous at first, but the work they did was outstanding.

They changed the time of my service that day and didn't call to tell me. That was a little bothersome but they were fine once they got here. They were great on site. The crew that came in was very professional and gave me lots of information on what they were doing and what they suggested. They overall did a really great job!

One of the branches was hanging over the neighbors gutters and they were very careful when cutting the branches so there was no damage done. They stayed until the work was completed. I got a 10% discount for finding them through Angie's List.

Because I had to wait for an available bucket truck, I agreed the work could be done on a day I wouldn't be home; BIG MISTAKE. The day ClearTree arrived they were expected to complete my job. Instead, the owner contracted with my neighbor to remove one of his trees. The work to top both trees was done from my property without my knowledge. Although the owner had my cell phone number with him, he never contacted me. I returned home a day later to find a standing dead tree in my yard and a standing dead tree in my neighbor's yard. My neighbor told me ClearTree would be back in 3 weeks to complete our jobs. None of this was acceptable to me. It never occurred to me that ClearTree's owner wouldn't honor our agreement to complete my job as promised, to not call me with changes, or to have his trucks on my property to cut a neighbor's tree without my permission. I complained. ClearTree returned 4 days later. My neighbor paid them and they are not allowed on my property again.

We were very pleased with the company, it's representatives, the clear and effective communication, thorough planning and final results. Although the price may seem quite high, it was commensurate with other estimates obtained previously and this company was definitely the most professional. The job took two days and though we were not here during the actual work, both days we returned to find the area neat and clean.
