Accepted a 7,000 downpayment in August, constructed 1,500 worth of plastic tube ductwork (that will be ripped off), in 1.5 days, then skipped. He asked for money to buy equipment, but never bought any equipment. That was a plane lie. He failed to keep three followup appointments in the Summer and then failed to return in the fall to finish. I cut him off when he recommended that I wait till Spring to finish my project and demanded more money to come back. He skipped with the downpayment. His ductwork design was found to be for a 2.5 ton unit when the unit to be installed was 2 ton. His workers took aluminum tape that was not for ductwork that was laying in my house ($150 worth of it) and used it to tape the pipes. The hard pipes covered with insulation, those not seen, were not taped or sealed. On a personal level, I was rebuilding after a tragedy and he knew my situation, and yet, he added to my hardship by taking off with my downpayment. He has no integrity and he is not very well skilled. His work was inspected for the court and found that the ductwork was not designed to code per ACCA Manual D, because it had very low air flow. He ignored the other components in his design, such as the requirement of R49 insulation in the roof and positioned his ductwork right under the roof's plywood. I will file a lawsuit.
