I would highly recommend this company! They responded promptly, were very polite and friendly and came out the very next morning and provided a free estimate. I thought the price was a little high, but I guess you get what you pay for!! My neighbor had the exact same problem about two weeks after me and used a cheaper company! It took them three days and they left her yard a total mess! Heil Plumbing finished in a half a day and left my yard perfect. The total cost was actually a little lower then the estimate which was nice! Everyone was very nice and while they are a busy company, they responded to my needs very quickly. I'm so glad I found them here on Angie's List!! I would definitely use them again if needed!!

Very positive experience! After three other plumbing estimates, found Heil doing the same job in another part of my community. I was able to check out their work first hand. They came by after working all day on a job to give me an estimate on mine. Joseph was confident and knowledgeable. He and Robert answered all of my questions with care. I appreciated their sincerity and time. They did not rush me or disregard my inquiries. The quote was thorough and timely. The follow through was exactly as discussed and expected. I worked with Tim to finalize details of my repair estimate, including comparing all elements of the contract with that of other plumbers that priced my job. When I expressed concern regarding duration of warranty, he discussed with the company owner and was able to align on parity in parts/labor warranty. I also spoke with Laurie, and she was knowledgeable and considerate in addressing my questions/concerns. It was necessary to wait for an install appointment, but it is what it is...business is good for them! I was agreeable to waiting because I felt 100% comfortable in my decision to commit the work to them. Tim was able to move my install date up one day to accommodate an out of town situation...which I appreciated. On the day of the repair, greeting the crew leads at 8AM was a welcomed sight! Joseph, Robert, and two other workers arrived on time and got to work. They were conscientious, neat, and took pride in their work. Drop cloths were laid, buckets were used to contain concrete jack-hammered from my foundation floor, and plywood was layed to hold dirt and sod displaced. Time was spent hand-digging around so many utility lines, it looked like spaghetti. I was nervous my neighbor's services may be impacted by a cut line, but there was no issue. This group of four men worked together well. They seemed to have a rapport, enjoyed each other's company, and they treated each other with respect. There was definitely a sense of teamwork and I liked seeing that. The new line was confidently pulled through tunnel of existing line, and work was finished by 220PM. No major yard trenching! Yeah! Crew even returned a short time later in response to my panicky call to the office for concern of hearing water running in my house. I quickly discovered it was a leaking toilet...likely a result of a warped rubber gasket after sitting with no water for a while. I was embarrassed, but Robert was good natured and understanding :-) It's not often I can say spending thousands of dollars on an unplanned repair was a positive experience...but in this case, it was. I went with my gut, read up on reviews, saw their work first hand on another job, and am pleased with their work in my own home. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family...and I plan to use them again for a small plumbing job on my shower.

I found Heil Plumbing on Angies List after my pet sitter called me in Boston to say there was water leaking in the basement furnace room. Being out of town with no regular plumber in my contacts, I did a quick scan of reviews for Heil Plumbing and gave them a call. They answered the phone and I was able to explain the problem (as best as I could not actually being home). Within two hours, Will arrived at my house, identified the problem and called me to explain the situation and the cost for repair. The repairs were completed within a few hours of first learning there was a problem. And, the cost was very reasonable in my view. I could not have asked for a better first-time experience. I would highly recommend Heil Plumbing. They were courteous, prompt, professional and reasonably priced.

I called at 9pm expecting to get an answering machine and actually got a live person. Tim said he could probably get us in next day and would call in the morning to confirm, which he did. Eddie was awesome! When he showed up at my rental property another contractor was working in the space that he needed to get into, he called me and suggested that he go on another call and come back. I talked with him about the contentious circumstances with the tenant and asked that he not discuss anything with me in front of them. He understood and agreed. He snaked the drain and analyzed within 5 min that the pipe was blocked outside the home. He dug it up for confirmation and suggested the we add a French drain. He also re-routed some piping that a previous plumber installed that was not correct. He was nice, professional and handled and sticky situation perfectly. Heil is now my go to plumber!

I had used them before. The service was fine. They hauled away our old water heater for us.

Five minutes after we arrived home one January afternoon, water started pouring from our garage ceiling. Sure enough, the pipe in the bathroom above our garage had frozen and burst during the infamous "polar vortex." After shutting off the water to the upstairs, my husband jumped onto Angie's list to find the best plumbers in our area. He quickly made some phone calls while I managed the crisis in the garage (he's an accountant, I'm a social worker - 'nuff said). Joe from Heil Plumbing was able to come to our rescue within a few hours of the initial call. He worked quickly in our freezing garage and in discussion with my husband, decided to install shut-off valves to that bathroom should we choose or need to turn off the water to that location again. We had some spare insulation in our basement left over from a recent project and Joe was happy to put some of it up into the garage ceiling to insulate the pipes until we could have a proper repair job done. He gave us a piece of the broken pipe to show to our insurance company, but one night, our 2 year old somehow got her hands on it and broke it into several pieces. In my frustration and fatigue, I wasn't thinking and I threw the pieces away. Of course, the adjustor wanted to see it weeks later when he was finally able to come out. The adjustor called Heil and they thankfully confirmed that, yes, the pipe had frozen. So, they saved us twice. Although we didn't have other estimates to compare this job to, the price we paid seems to be in line with what others have paid for similar emergency plumbing work. The plumber we used in the past does not seem to be in business any longer, so we'll be using Heil from now on. Thanks again, Joe, for coming to our rescue!

I was very pleased with the services rendered. I bought the water heater deal for $700 and I was contacted the next day to schedule a appointment . The installer was on time and very professional. He explained that I needed some extra work done to bring my pipes up to code along with a water expansion unit. He had all the parts and was able to complete the work in less than two hours. I would definitely use this company for future projects.

Joseph Heil and Company is Great! A+ :-) We are very happy with all the work they did for us!!! The owner showed up at 8:00 AM Monday morning to review our needs and give us an estimate. I had only put in a request through Angie?s List on Sunday afternoon. That is a super-fast response time. They gave me a quote that was right in the range I knew it would fall, and he said he could have a crew on-site that day. WOW! Good to Mr. Heil's word, the crew arrived about 1:00 PM to begin the work on replacing the water line between the street main and our house. This was the original blue polybutylene pipe which was used all through our neighborhood. They told me they had done several homes in my neighborhood... which Angie?s List had already indicated. They began digging a hole out at the main shutoff, and breaking up a small patch of concrete in our basement to free the old pipe. They then worked a cable through the old line to pull a new copper line out through the old path underground. There was a snag where the original trenches my builder dug to run the sewer and water line through took a 90 degree turn from one another. The copper pipe could not be drawn around that sharp of a corner, and snapped. Not a worry, a quick second hole found the break, and they were set to re-run everything. It was very late, and I fully understood they needed to stop for the day. THEY DID NOT LEAVE US WITHOUT WATER! They connected a temporary line from the main to the house via the outside hose bib they had just replaced for me. That gave us full pressure overnight. The next morning at 8:00 AM they were back on-site and ready to go in the misty rain. They pulled a new piece of copper through the block foundation wall of the house, and to the second hole they dug the day before. Then they pulled another pipe down to the main and connected everything. They were done in about 3 hours, and then needed to wait for the County Inspector to arrive and sign off on it. He arrived about 1:30 or so. After he signed off, they back filled their holes in a driving rainstorm. They also seeded the spots. They patched the cement floor inside. In two weeks they will return to check the lawn and put some more topsoil and seed down. It was really a painless experience. Well... costly which none of us want... but painless besides that. LOL I will certainly reccomend them to people I know. I plan to use their services in the future if I need any plumbing work. EXCELLENT COMPANY! Steven--

From the incredibly prompt and cordial estimate received within 1.5 hours of the initial call to the quick scheduling of the repair and a reasonable price. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

These guys are awesome & have this process down to a science. I live in a townhouse development and have seen many neighbors go through the process of replacing the polybutylene pipes going from the county main to the main line into the house. The process for some of my neighbors has taken from 8 AM until well past 9 PM with two guys in a yard with shovels. It seemed miserable. Not with Heil. They were here quickly after I called and were able to come back the next day for the repair. It was done in about two hours and once they left, you'd hardly know they had been here. They cut a small patch in the front yard (maybe 2' x 4') and then basically pulled the old pipe out using some heavy machinery. They even cut out the sod and replaced it when they'd finished. They then cut out the old pipe in the basement and replaced and sealed the new pipe in (including a pressure reduction valve). If you need to replace a polybutylene water main, USE THEM. It may have been slightly more expensive then another company, but I would use them for this again without question.

The price was reasonable. They came the same day we called - within a half an hour. We had no hot water. The job only took an hour. They were very clean and very professional. We were very happy with the service.

Ed the owner came out for the quote on time. There were no Biden fees. He was able to do it right away. This is the second time I have used them with the other time being at my old house. They were great and would use them again if needed.

It has been a few years, but I would highly recommend the Heil company. We noticed the lawn was excessively wet and realized there was a leak in the underground pipes. We got estimates from 3 companies and the Heil company came in at a significantly lower price than other companies. The work required digging a large trench, replacing the pipe, backfilling the trench, and seeding the lawn. Mr Heil met with my husband to evaluate the scope of the job and followed up that evening with an estimate, which was accurate. The job was completed within 2 days. I would use the company again. I felt they provided good, quality service and were honest.

The crew showed up on time and worked in the sub-freezing temperatures all day. The protected the home and cleaned up when they were done. I highly recommend them.

Showed up promptly and went right to work finding and repairing problem. Professional, courteous and thorough. Cleaned up after work performed. Made an otherwise very unpleasant experience bearable. I would not hesitate to call on them again for plumbing needs and would definitely recommend them to a neighbor, friend or relative

They came out to do a few "odds and ends" plumbing tasks. Nothing too hard, but beyond my limited DIY capabilities. They looked at a couple of other items I wanted to have done as well. One was complex (they'd have to start tearing out drywall to see what the job would really entail), so they didn't provide a quote. The other job required them to do some research; they called me back within a couple of weeks with a quote. They are a little pricey, but that may be driven somewhat by the "Howard County Factor". They seem to have prices that vary by the type of job as opposed to the actual amount of time spent on the job.

The polybutylene feeder pipe from the street to my house started leaking. They replaced the pipe with copper without having to dig up the whole front yard. They only dug up a ~2' x 4' area right by the street. They also replaced the pressure regulator on the inside of the house. They charged extra to do the work on a Saturday, but they told me about this in advance

Excellent work, done very quickly . Had problems getting the appointment scheduled. They set one date and time, then left voice mail asking if it could be changed. Advised that was not possible. Then received a second voice mail saying that they were changing the time. I did not receive the second voice mail as I was at work. I arrived home a few minutes before the originally scheduled time to hear the message. I called them and they were very difficult about when to change the time to. They called me back and finally agreed to send someone the same day, and I agreed with the woman who does the scheduling that I would call them after a scheduled medical appointment and they would send them technician then. Instead I had a man call DURING my medical appointment saying he had was sending someone and INSISTING to know when I would be finished with my medical appointment. The whole appointment scheduling was extremely unprofessional, and I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. Especially did not appreciate the gentleman insisting that I tell him when I would be finished with my medical appointment. The technician did great work, but not sure I would use them again.
