Over 15 years they have installed 3 new garage doors, repaired springs in old garage doors, serviced motors and belts. EVERY time, the products and service were impeccable. What REALLY has stood out is customer service. Over 15 years, I have probably called 8-10 times with "problems" with a power door. Every time, the receptionist would try to "solve" my problem. If she didn't feel competent, she would get a tech, manager, or owner to "walk" me thru the "problem". 80-90% of the problems could be fixed quickly and easily with a little step-by-step advice. Once, they determined over the phone that a 10+ year old lift had a broken part. I asked to schedule a service call/repair. The owner said, " I'd be happy to schedule a repair, but you already have removed the part and have it in your hand. If you want to stop by and purchase the part, you can save the "service call charge". This made this a very reasonably priced repair. Many installation companies count on "service" as a good portion of their income stream.

They did a great job. The price was reasonable and I highly recommend them.

The work went well they always do a great job

Tech Bryan V was able to do replacement of extension springs same day as we called. Total cost, parts and labor, was $188. A previous company had quoted $325, which I was very suspicious of and as it turns out, rightfully so. It took Bryan about 40 minutes to do the repair and all is working great now!

Bob Swigert arrived to do the bid when scheduled, explained the work and gave us the best price for the job and some good advice on some details. We were able to keep the existing garage door opener - which was remounted as part of the deal. We kept the same look, didn't add windows, didn't go for a high 'R' value or other fancy touches. We got what we wanted - a new, good looking, solid door that will require almost no attention and has a excellent warranty. We also feel safer with a steel clad door. The work was done on the day scheduled in the time promised. Everything was left clean and all the old materials hauled away. We used the Fred C Johnson Co three years ago to fix the garage door opener and they did an excellent job with that so we made sure we got them back to bid on this work. I don't know how the job could have been done any better and I recommend the Fred C Johnson Co for garage door work.

Representative showed up tge same day, on time, and gave me a competitive estimate. I got an installation appointment in 3 days. Installer showed up on time, did an excellent job, and was finished in an hour.

Reasonable rates with high quality work. Both the estimator that came out initially and the installation team were professional and efficient. They explained the process without adding jargon or trying to sell me on the services that I didn't need. The overall cost was extremely reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. They are one of the few contractors I found that did not mind if I had my own garage door openers rather than having to purchase theirs. I found them on Angie's List and highly recommend them to other members. I had two poorly functioning wooden garage doors replaced and two new garage door openers installed. Total cost (not including the openers I already had) was $2,600. It was not the cheapest bid, but it was far from the most expensive and I could not ask for better with the office staff or quality of work.

The project started and finished on time. The craftsmanship is excellent and we would not hesitate to use Fred C. Johnson for future garage door projects.

The whole process went well. The estimator was very thorough and detailed. They were able to schedule us quickly because they stocked the model we chose. Install went great and the installer went over everything and left the work area cleaned up. He was very professional and customer service oriented.

They were prompt, professional, did the job very quickly and also sprayed lubricant on the door hinges and on the 2nd door that they did not even repair. Would definitely hire again - a keeper!

Everything was very professionally done and was hassle free. Joe, the installer, was EXCELLENT and explained everything. Even the estimation process was pain free and they answered all my questions before installation, and I had many. I was very impressed with Fred C. Johnson and I would hire them again. Can't say enough how happy I am with the new door. And, by the way, they were the best price of all the estimates I received as well. Good price and great value.

Went great. During the consultation, he did not try to up sell us something we did not want (windows, fancy doors or extra insulation). Rick came out a few days later and installed them and removed the old doors. He offered to reprogram our remotes to work each others doors, but our remotes only have one button each.

Received three quotes for this work; Fred C. Johnson was lowest cost by about 10% for identical materials. All three companies were very prompt in providing estimates. Selected Fred C. Johnson Co. in part because of their Angie's list ratings (99% of their 313 rating customers rated them an "A" or a "B"). Installer was prompt and polite, and installed both doors and openers with no wasted effort -- he clearly knew exactly what he was doing. The quality of the work was excellent.

We had a great experience. The spring broke on the garage door opener and we could not open the door. I called and the office was able to send the technicians out same day. The door was fixed within a couple hours of my call and the cost was reasonable. The front office even called to ensure I would be home when the technicians were on their way since I mentioned I had to arrange to get my son to school. I would definitely use this company again.

Fred C Johnson's was able to send someone out the next day. They told me up front what to expect for cost and came as promised and replaced the spring. The garage now opens as before and the cost was as explained. Very friendly and professional.

Fine. Everything works great. They glued the wires on top of the sheet rock instead of running them under the sheet rock and out of sight. It doesn't look great, but then again, it is only a garage! Perhaps that was the only way to do it, but they never discussed it with me.

Overall, I would not use Fred C Johnson again. I knew we were off to a bad start on installation day when I was told I would have to remove the light where the garage door opener would go. This was the first time I was hearing this and had to remove the light to proceed with the installation. In addition, these are the noisiest garage doors (not the openers) I have ever heard in my life. They both sound like a train going down the tracks. I know people with 25 year old garage doors that are almost silent. When someone can back to look at the issue, we were given a can of garage door lubrication spray, which was not helpful in the least. You can see in the one picture that the tracks do not line up. Finally, worst of all I finally found out where the snakes in my garage are coming from. It can be seen in the other picture that these snakes are slithering in directly under the weather strip. The weather strip is clearly not down to the floor like it should be. I wish I would have chosen another company for this work.
