He and his crew came when they said they would and performed the work in a very professional way. The crew were Hispanic and did not speak English. When they need to talk to me they called Mr. Perez on their cell phone and handed me the phone, and Mr. Perez, whose English is completely adequate, spoke for them. Language was never a problem. The finished quickly--two days-- and Mr. Perez did the interior repair himself on the third day. They cleaned very nicely.

We had a crack in the finish coat on the outside of our basement, which is built of cement blocks. There was a vertical crack where some of the coat had pulled away from the wall, exposing parts of some blocks and a crack in the mortar between the blocks. I didn't want water to get behind the surface and cause more damage or get into the basement. After contacting a couple of other recommended contractors who said they didn't do this kind of work, I called Perez Masonry. Within a couple of days, Perez Masonry came out to look at the problem, called me with an estimate, and did the work the following week. He dug out all of the damaged material, made sure the cement blocks were intact, filled the crack, and refinished the surface. The texture matches perfectly and will be invisible once I get the wall repainted. Communications were excellent via text, telephone, and in person.

Perez and workman were prompt and reported to begin work on July 5, 2014, as he had stated. He was able to use spare bricks we had to do the job. We were pleased with that as other contractors who looked at the job, said it was not possible to match our brick color.and offered us options that was not acceptable to us. They never asked if we had extra bricks laying around as Perez had done. He gets an A for that. All work was completed on/or about 7/7/14. We were pleased with the job, as it was a big improvement over the previous loose and cracked brick and concrete. On closer inspection, the mortar in some places was sloppily applied, and edges not sharply cleaned. However we more or less tolerated it. Also our brick paver walkway was not covered with a tarp, etc. while the work was being done, causing it to have a whitish coating. Perez said it would wash away, but despite washing it down with my hose, and rain it remained the same. We called Perez on 7/17/14 and he came on 7/18/14/ and cleaned the walkway. The aluminum rail was installed on 8/1/14, by another company. This company drilled holes for the rail and partially, filled with concrete. Perez came and filled with the yellow mortar he used for the other work. He was punctual, but I found the concrete sloppily applied with mortar piled high around the rail post instead of smoothed flat. I had to ask him to remove mortar from the new railing, which he did, but I still had to clean it again after he was gone. He informed us there would be a $100. charge for this, which we said was all right. On Monday 10/13/14, I called Perez to tell him some of the mortar was cracking on the steps and in one place it had fallen out. He told me he would come out to look at it "this week". He did not show up nor call. On Monday 10/20/14, I placed another call to him. He responded he would "come this week". I informed him that we hired him based on his A+ rating on Angie's List and I would contact them if he did not show up this time. Perez came to look at the problem during the week of 10/20/14. He said the damage was caused by the installers of the railing. Of course we did not agree with that, so he agreed to make necessary repairs without charge. On Wednesday 11/19/14, while we were away from home , Perez came and removed several bricks and mortar pieces. The mortar and brick pieces were all over the steps, walkway, and on my mulched shrub bed. He left a note to call him which we did. He said the temperature was too cold to do the work the next day, but he would return on Monday 11/24/14 as the weather forecast was for warmer temperatures. I commented, why did he make a mess before he could complete the job, and left it for us to clean up. His only response was he be back on Monday. We had to endue the unsightly mess through the Thanksgiving holiday. Monday 11/24/14 the temperature was up to 74 degrees, but Perez did not show up nor call. The entire week went by without hearing from him. On 12/1/14 we returned home to find the work had been completed. I called him on 12/4/14 that the work was satisfactory. He asked if I would remove my review from Angie's List. I told him I would. Little did I know that a large amount on pieces of mortar and brick was thrown on the lawn. It was discovered on 12/5/14 when our landscaper came to blow leaves and mow. I called Perez who said he would clean it up. He came on Sunday 12/7/14 to remove the debris. He said his worker spilled it trying to put it in the truck. Sloppy clean-up is unacceptable in our book.

All in all I was pleased with the work completed. Mr. Perez came out on a Tuesday morning to provide an estimate, and was able to start the working that Friday. Friday was only a demolition day to remove the old steps. I kind of expected them to continue the work on Saturday, but they did not come back until Monday, so it just added to the inconvenience of not being able to use my front door. Monday, very little work was completed because they needed access to water, and apparently a hose. I provided an office number I could be reached at, but the only attempted contact was to a phone I did not have access to during the work day. I was able to be home one day when they were working, and thought the work was very professional. What I observed was multiple measurements being taken, and the use of a level to ensure accuracy. Once the work was complete, Mr. Perez met me at my home after work to inspect the project. There were some issues that were found involving the placement of bricks used to make the top step. A solution was found and Mr. Perez came out the next day, which was a Saturday, and fixed the problem. The good: Quality of work and responsiveness. The bad: Punctuality - each day I scheduled to meet with him in the morning he was 30 - 60 minutes late. Payment: FYI, he prefers to paid in cash, but will take a check.

Our patio took longer than expected, but in the end Perez Masonry did a gorgeous job for less than other bidders. I was very impressed by their professionalism and determination. Their bid was significantly less than other companies and they used real stone rather than the engineered stone that is easier to work with but does not look as nice. I would tell anyone who wants stone work to call Eusebio Perez. He is thoughtful and careful about doing the work right and he cleans up the site nicely. His cement contractor dumped cement all over our front yard and Eusebio and his workers cleaned up the mess and resodded. They did such a nice job with placing the stones on the patio - the pattern and the colors were carefully done, and the finished product is just beautiful. This was a complicated project with a site that sloped and they figured out how to get the patio level in a way that worked so we could just step out the back.
Description of Work: Perez Masonry built a large stone patio in our backyard. It was a tough job. The site was sloped and they had to demolish a warped old deck and dig out a very large tree stump to prepare the site. Our yard is narrow so they couldn't bring big trucks around back. They had to carry debris by hand.

Perez was supposed to be at my location at approx. 8am. No show. At 9.30am I called and reminded him that he has a job at my place. He needed to check his schedule and called me back. He wanted to know if he could push the job to lunch time. Since I am retired, I was able to make this adjustment, lucky for him. Perez arrived at approx. 1.30pm The job was started and completed at 7.00pm It was good work, and was exactly what I wanted. This was a small job that Perez completed. It was hard to find someone to even take on this job, as it is not a big job or very expensive. Being on time would have given him "A's" across the board. Had to ding him for punctuality. Even with the time problem, it was completed and I am happy with the work.

The owner Eusebio showed up for an estimate after contacting him with in a couple of days. We went over everything and he gave the price and estimated 4 days to complete. His crew began the work on the date and time he gave. The first job was to remove the holly bushes of which there were 13 total. These shrubs had been planted over twenty years ago so the roots were extensive. This job took longer than expected so the original four days was spent just getting them out. Next they prepared the ground for the laying out of the pavers. They did an excellent job getting the ground level and installing the retaining wall at the end of the house. The ground had a pretty good downward slope and required some back fill to get everything level. They did a very professional job laying the pavers in a detective pattern which had several sweeping curves and required cutting many blocks to fit properly. When that was finished they prep the ground under the tree and filled the area with mulch. Even though the job took twice as long as the original estimate, which I did not mind as I was in no rush, I knew that this was going to effect Eusebio's profit and more than likely impact other jobs he may have waiting. That being said, never once did he or his crew rush to get done and compromise the quality of their work, or ask for another dime to make up for the extra time. It is nice to know that Eusebio stood by his word and did not compromise any part of the job to make up the added time it took. My wife & I were extremely happy with the work and gave a little extra to Eusebio and his crew for their honesty & professionalism. One other thing, even though there was a bit of a language barrier, It was not a problem and with a little patience, Eusebio and his crew understood what we wanted and completed everything beautifully. I would highly recommend to anyone using E&F Masonry and intend to use them again for some future projects.
Description of Work: Remove holly bushes from both sides of drive way and install pavers & retaining wall, prep ground around tree & mulch, reseal joints in drive way.
Perez was a pleasure to deal with. He came to my home to prepare an estimate the same day I contacted him. He was ready willing and able to start the job right away, but he had to wait for me to finalize a few items before he could start. Once I was ready, he had the guys start working within a matter of days. They completed everything in a little over 2 days. Workmanship and quality was excellent. The 2 guys who did the work were great and extremely tidy. I would highly recommend Perez.

Eusebio responded to my call immediately and assessed the job within a week. Once I accepted the quote they started working within a couple days. The work was completed in 3 days. The price was highly competitive and came at about half the price of other quotes. Overall the job was good. I would highly recommend their work for combined cost and quality.

A large corner of a concrete step had completely broken off the front step. I contacted Perez and then sent him photos of the step via text. Within 10 minutes he replied with an estimate. We scheduled a date, however heavy rains were predicted so he called to postpone and said he would call me the next week to schedule again. After 10 days, I sent him a text asking if he was still interested in doing the job. He responded immediately with a yes and a date. He said he would be here at 8am. At 8:30, I called to see if he was coming and he said he was running late. He came about 8:45 and was finished before 11:30. I am very happy with the work he did and the cleanup. He charged me exactly what he had quoted. The steps are 28 years old and the new corner matches very well. Luckily, my schedule is flexible so the date/time delay wasn't a problem. Also, he charged me much, much less than another quote I had gotten.

Mr. Perez was very responsive. Our front stairway (50 stairs!) really should be torn out and rebuilt, but aside from needing the historic commissions approval for those plans, plus the cost of that project, we opted to repair until we can better afford the full job. As I said, Mr. Perez was very quick to call back and set up a time for an estimate. In fact, he came over the same day. He gave an estimate and, after several other contractors checked in, we decided to go with him. We agreed to a time a few days out. The only thing that is a little different is that he called late at night to confirm for the next day. Like, after 10. We were up so it wasn't a big deal, but it was way later than usual for a business. Nevertheless, his employee did a very nice patch job on our steps and we would use them again.

Absolute first rate experience with this company. Punctuality, professionalism, and dedication to giving the best result is obviously a big part of this companies charter. We are preparing our house for the market this summer, and we had some major landscaping that needed to be cleaned up and re-done. Feliciano expertly advised us on what would make the most sense and keep the new areas as low maintenance as possible for the new owners. The following is a brief list of the major tasks that they completed: Tore out old flower bed Leveled off the area Leveled off another area that had been torn up to facilitate new sewer plumbing Squared of the landscaped area Added sod where necessary Chose an incredible array of low-maintenance bushes, trees, and flowers for the newly landscaped area Mulched the new area (pre-soaked the area for weed control) Helped us to understand proper watering and maintenance Feliciano even came back every day or two to ensure there were no irrigation issues and continued to advise us on proper care The team also filled in two holes with concrete that had been dug out for the plumbing and re-pointed some brick that had gotten wet and was previously repaired with silicone. I feel that this company truly does care about their product and offers an extremely reasonable price for their level of expertise. Incredibly happy with the end result, and we will be having them do some drywall work and more landscaping in the immediate future.

21This job went about as wrong as any job could go. The guys showed up on time. Mr Perez however was never around the job the entire time. By day two Mr Perez's workers wouldn't take direction from me, only "the boss". HOWEVER since 'the boss' wasn't around, I had to call Mr Perez. And wait....and wait. One of the men who didn't speak english became incensed and I actually feared for my wife and 6-month old daughter who were on the scene. Yeah, it was that bad. Also he had me make a check out to some "ENF Masonry" which isn't even the company name! What a total unadulterated sham. At the end of the day, I had to kick the entire crew off of the job site. Thanks a lot Perez.

We contacted Eusebio in May to repair stucco on our outdoor patio walls, which was in very bad shape. Eusebio came out to our house for an estimate the next day, and his price was a third less than two other companies that we had contacted. He started work the following day and finished the entire job in 2 days. He and his co-worker did an absolutely fantastic job. They were professional, punctual, and cleaned up the entire area when they were done. We enjoyed working with Eusebio so much that we asked him to come back to build a brick retaining wall on our patio. He had a different partner for this project, but again, they did an amazing job. They arrived as scheduled, finished the job in a day and a half, and cleaned up the entire area. And, most importantly, the quality of their work was fantastic. We would definitely hire E&F Masonry again.

Perez was responsive to an initial phone call and gave us an estimate April 20. We decided to confirm his service with a $400 deposit and told him we needed the work done by June for several parties we were having. Since it was a small job he said he would call before hand, but would fit it in in the next couple weeks. The weather was raining on and off but the weeks ticked by and I called a couple times to remind him that we needed it done by June 10 because we were having a party in preparation for my daughter's wedding. He called June 6th and said he would come on June 7th. The work was completed on June 7th and it looks great. I had confidence that it would get done because of Angie's List reviews, but was a little nervous during the waiting process. The weather certainly was a factor.

I set up a meeting with Perez to finalize a quote for a patio remodel for 7AM, and he never showed up. I texted and called with no response. I finally reached him and he said he wasn't coming because he didn't have the license I had asked about. He didn't bother to a) tell me that, and b) let me know he wasn't coming?!?! How unprofessional!!
