Perfectly! The project was challenging but the guys were diligent and Eusebio was very involved every step of the way.

Other than weather delays, everything went well. I was consulted when there were decisions to be made and they did what it took to make sure water would drain properly.

i had stone veneer placed on my garage to match a portion of the house. They did excellent work. The stone work on the garage actually looks better than the stone work on the rest of the house. Estubio was punctual and kept me informed regarding the project.

Very well, he accomplished most of this in one day and if the weather had cooperated he would have finished up the first day. I was very pleased.

Eusebio was able to come by the house when I was at work to see what needed to be done and to give a quote. I told him I'd like to schedule a time to have the work done-- we played phone tag a bit and one day I came home and the work was done (it was a bit strange to me that the came without confirming first, but it was really not a big deal). The other strange thing was that they did the work on Monday March 13th, a few hours before a giant snowstorm was set to hit. I wasn't sure if it was so good to have done the work just before a storm when the fresh cement would be under a lot of snow, but they assured me it was fine. Half an hour later Eusebio called me and said he was coming over in half an hour to bring a tarp to put over the steps because he wouldn't be able to sleep if he didn't! That's great customer service, especially since it was just as the snow was starting to come down with a vengeance. The work looked well-done, and the person (or people, I wasn't home for it) cleaned up very well after themselves. Would definitely call again if I had additional masonry work to do. The work looks to be high-quality, but this is something that I think time well tell.

Eusebio was very responsive when I first contacted him. He came out one morning to see the job and gave me a quote. After the job was done (I believe it was his brother who actually carried out the work) I asked him to make some modifications on the rebuilt step he installed, which he did that day and with no additional charge. When I then asked him to fix some additional cracks in my sidewalk, which was not part of the original scope of work, he charged me an additional $100, which was reasonable to me since it wasn't part of the original request. That repair was also done the same day the rebuilt step was modified.

Service was prompt and workers arrived when expected and stayed later than expected. They clearly took pride in their work and the repair to our walkway was structurally much sounder than the initial pavers had done 10 years prior. We are very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend E&F.

I had several contractors come in to provide estimates and selected E&F Masonry due to cost and timeframe. The other contractors required several weeks notice and were a little more expensive. Eusebio provided options and cost. Initially I selected a wood retaining wall but after some discussion and recommendation opted for stone faced blocks. There were some trees that needed to be removed and Eusebio provided this service as well. Overall it was a great job, very beautiful. I highly recommend his services and would use him again!

The replacement work on two large sections went exactly as planned. The cement now is gently sloped away from the church front door area so that the water will drain away from, not toward, the church. This will solve a huge problem that we have had for a very long time. the price was quite reasonable and, frankly, it is difficult to find a contractor who will do this type of work. He completed the two projects in three days each time, minimizing any interference with the activities of a busy congregation. We fully recommend Eusebio and anyone is welcome to come to the church to see the work. It will benefit us for many years to come. Clem Gaines
Description of Work: Eusebio led his team to replace cracked and uneven cement in front of St John Lutheran Church in Columbia. Over the years, the cement had settled so that in a heavy rain storm or with ice and snow, the water pooled in front of the front steps. Then it migrated toward the building where it leaked into several lower rooms for a number of years.

Mr. Perez and his crew are hardworking craftsmen that deserve accolades from toughest critics. They started early everyday and worked hard throughout the day, until sunset. If there were any issue, they addressed them promptly and thoroughly. Although the scope of the project grew from the initial estimate, the pricing was fair for high quality, timely work. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Contacted E&F Masonry for a bid on parging. They came promptly and provided a price that day. They showed up for work on time at 8 and worked until about 6 each day of the job. Whenever there was a question about the work, the principal, Eusebio, was always available by phone and came several times to the job site to make sure requests were being carried out. They completed the work in about the time period estimated and for the agreed upon contract price. This was a good experience.

I contacted multiple masons in order to find someone to perform repairs uncovered in home inspection in process of selling our home. We were on a tight schedule and since we were selling our home to a relocation company we had very specific bid requirements. I spent a week trying to find someone willing to do the work. Several companies gave estimates over $10,000. Eusebio responded to my inquiry and set up a time to go over the inspection report in person looking at the home within a few days of initial contact. He worked with me to put together a detailed bid and description of the work to be done. Once the bid was approved to be done by our relo company Eusebio scheduled the work right away. His crew arrived ready to work everyday and stayed late and worked on a Saturday to ensure the project was finished in our required timeframe even in 100 degree weather. Eusebio checked in frequently to make sure the work was progressing properly. He did an excellent job communicating throughout the project, even texting if running a few minutes late for our scheduled appointments. The work was done on time and exactly to our specifications. I couldn't be happier with the way the job went.

They arrived punctually and immediately began removing the old retaining wall, carting away all the pieces by hand from our difficult-to-access back hill. They had their own dumpster for this purpose, and we didn't need to worry about anything. The men were quiet and professional and finished the job in a week. They replaced all of the old wall with a brand-new wall of the same material (lumber) as required by our HOA, and designed the gravel and lumber layout so that the drainage from the hill would be most efficient. Esubio oversaw his team's work, and was available for questions by phone and text when he was not physically on site. When he realized he had mis-charged us (by a small amount), he came to our house quickly with cash to reimburse us. Although some folks here might balk at his "check or cash" policy, I can assure you everything went smoothly and we have no regrets. He was very easy to work with, and his team clearly respects him. These folks were professional, and far cheaper than other landscapers. If paying by check was the "price" we had to pay for a wall we could afford, we were OK with that. I highly recommend this team! I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

An enormous tree had grown through a wall, knocked down garden walls, and pulled up the patio in my backyard (tiny area--rowhome). I had the tree removed by Nelson Tree Specialists, who did a terrific job. Feliciano (brother of E&F owner) agreed to remove the tree trunk and cinder blocks from the wall it had grown through and rebuild the garden area, including walls (it's a raised bed) and patio. Day 1 (Sunday): Feliciano arrived 45 minutes early to provide estimate. Doesn't sound so bad, but I was in the shower, so it was awkward. He estimated $1500 to remove the tree, even out the yard and take it back to the fence so it could be used for gardening, put down mulch, and rebuild the walls and patio. He was also going to get an estimate from someone who could get my hose to work--said he "had a guy" who could do that. No written estimate or drawing provided for anything. This price sounded ridiculously low, and I kept trying to get estimates. Of the eight top Angies' List providers, five did not want to work in Baltimore, two did not return my phone calls, and one made an appointment and then cancelled and never called to reschedule. So I called the E&F owner (who I must say is very responsive) and said I'd like to move forward. I mention this for those who agree with the "low-price-pay-twice" theory. I agree with that, too, and wanted it done right the first time. I ultimately went with the only provider who responded at all, not with the lowest price, per se. Day 2 (following Sunday): Feliciano was supposed to come back at 10:00, firm up our agreement, get a down payment, and get a key to the house. At 11:00, I called his brother to see where he was (I still had no direct contact information for Feliciano). Feliciano called me and arranged to come at 12:30 instead (and he did show up on time). We went into the back yard again, and I tried to get more clarity about exactly what he would do since I didn't have it in writing. We did agree that he would rebuild the garden walls with new brick as my old brick was worthless and rebuild the patio with blue stone. We also agreed that the patio would start where the tree had been. I asked if the garden walls would be really high--around three feet or so--which he was implying and which would mean I would need steps to get into the flower bed easily for gardening. He finally said that he could not be sure about the walls until he started digging and saw how much space underground the tree took up, but he added $450 for the steps. (The garden walls are about two feet--I could have done without the steps--but he built them anyway. I don't really mind, but it's an example of how he just went about doing whatever without consulting me.) I reminded him about getting the estimate to fix the hose. He now said that he didn't have a guy, just knew a guy, but he would have the guy call me. (Never happened.) He was to start the following day and finish by Friday. I gave him a down payment. I received no contract, drawing/plans, or receipt. Day 3 (Monday): Feliciano was supposed to start work Monday at 7:00 AM. I left for work at 8:00. At 10:00, I called his brother to see what was going on. His brother called back to say Feliciano would be there around noon. At 12:30, Feliciano called to say my key--which I had taken off my own key ring--didn't work. We agreed that he would arrive at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, and I would show him how to use the key. Day 4 (Wednesday): He did show up at 7:00, and the work finally began. After this, the work crew showed up kind of randomly, and Feliciano kept pushing back the completion date, only keeping me updated when I asked. About 7 days after he started, he was still there when I got home, and I asked him about a few things, such as why the patio started two feet in front of the tree rather than at the tree, as we agreed. He said the roots were in the way. Again, I can live with it, but it's generally good practice to let the client know if changes are to be made. About 9 days after he started, I arrived home from work to find him still in the backyard. He had started to put down my old brick for the patio to show me what it would look like, and he said it wouldn't work, and he would have to use new brick or pavers--and it would cost $600 extra. As noted above, we had already agreed he would use stone, and it was part of the original price. But I only pushed back a little--mostly because I wanted the stone, not the brick or pavers--and I wound up paying $600 extra for pavers. After all, I had nothing in writing. Despite all this, I was still relatively pleased when everything was finally complete. The back yard looked transformed from the rubble pit it was, and although it was not quite what was expected, I knew it was a very difficult job that had been greatly underpriced. Yes, the mortar joints were a mess, and there's a plastic bucket holding up the fence, and the whole experience was very unprofessional. But they did a tremendous amount of work for a very reasonable price, and I would have written a nice, if tentative, review... ...until I started gardening. I dug down about three inches where the concrete wall had been and discovered...concrete. The remainder of the tree is also right under the soil. The yard was, indeed, chock full of garbage, chunks of concrete, and bricks--in some cases, I pulled whole bricks out of the dirt, as well as plastic bags and a glass bottle and a light bulb... They basically left the yard a rubble heap and covered it up with a layer of mulch. I have been digging away back there, pulling out the concrete and bricks as best I can and filling in with topsoil so I can plant the plants that I had already ordered, based on Feliciano's estimated completion date. The alternative was letting the plants die. Heaven knows how many will live in that trash heap. I redesigned the garden so the larger plants are in areas they might live (rather than in the back, with the smaller plants up front, as originally designed). Fingers crossed. Oh, and my house was filthy. They used my bathroom and came in to get water for the work--both things that seemed fine at the time, but now I see why Nelson Tree Specialists assured me that they wouldn't use my facilities even though I offered. I ultimately had the house professionally cleaned, post-E&F, because everything was covered with a fine layer of silt. I am horrified. To be fair, they did a lot of work, and I don't think it was anyone's intention to con me. I think Feliciano is just a terrible project manager, and he grossly underestimated the time and money the job would take and then found himself between a rock and a hard place, trying to keep all his clients happy without enough manpower or materials to finish my job properly. The shame is, there was no need for this. I would have gladly paid more to have the job done right. They would have made a better profit, and I would have had the yard I wanted. There was no reason to go this route. I hesitated to write this review and postponed it because I actually liked Feliciano, and I'd like to believe he just screwed up. But at the end of the day, I really wished there had been more reviews like mine. I moved forward with the $1500 estimate (which, again, turned into $2600--but should probably have been $4,000 or more of work, if done properly) in large part because of the glowing reviews. The next client should know that this crew needs micromanagement and a detailed estimate in writing. P.S. I wish there were a way to upload photos in Angies' List, as much of this is hard to describe. Angies' List, I do suggest you add this functionality.

I called Eusebio on Tuesday May 24th and he was out the next morning to give me an estimate. He quoted me a price which I thought was fair. He told me he could install my driveway the following week and it would take him three days. We made arrangements for his crew to come out and prep the site on May 31st. The concrete was poured on June 2nd. If it wasn't for trash pick-up on the 1st, the job would have been completed in two days. He and his crew are very professional and they do excellent work. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Thanks Eusebio!

E.& F Masonry LLC did a fantastic job on our row home. They arrived every day on time and worked very hard to complete the work. They worked long hours every day in high heat and took very few breaks. Although the work was very messy (the grinding caused quite a bit of mortar and brick dust), E & F were sure to clean up our yard and our neighbors each day before leaving. Eusebio Perez (owner) was very responsive from the very beginning of the project, responding to any questions we had via phone or text. He also visited the site almost every morning to make sure that his crew knew exactly how the daily task should be completed and to monitor how the work was being done. We had some additional concerns about the shape of our chimneys during the middle of the project. Eusebio arrived the next morning and gave us a honest assessment of their condition, explaining that they were not cause for concern at this time. Although we do not have additional work at the time, we would not hesitate to hire E & F Masonry for a project in the future.
Description of Work: E & F Masonry LLC helped us repair a 40 foot wide, 2-story, side wall in our row home. They removed old cement board from the bottom level of the house and parged over the existing brick underneath, ground out damaged mortar/re-pointed areas of concern throughout the wall, replaced damaged brick windowsills in four first-floor windows, replaced displaced bricks at roofline, and repainted and sealed over areas they had re-pointed.
